Lava cake

Very average experience here that felt spot on chain-restaurant like. Service was timely and friendly. Atmosphere is nice and intimate. They can accommodate different party sizes. The food did come out very quickly which likely were premade in advance but pasta was al denté still. 1. Zucchini fritter - came as "fries", soggy and oily. I'd skip this next time 2. Carbonara - good, creamy, very good 3. Lava cake - too sweet as more sugar was added and the crumble was sweet too. It was very creamy inside. Overall a good dinner but was not above average compared to other Italian restaurants. Solid to try once if craving Italian food.

Great stop for a quick app and happy hour drinks! We swung in here last week on a walk through the city, and had a very enjoyable time. We got a couple happy hour drinks and apps, and the bread that was given for free was truly To Die For. This is somewhere you come for the vibe, the class, and friendly staff, and the phenomenal food! Great experience overall.

I came here for a work dinner and had some apps to share (not pictured) such as tuna tartare, meatball, and some potato squares. The tuna tartare was the best thing I had all night. It was fresh and tasted exactly how I expected it to. The meatball was standard and the potatoes were a bit stale. For my entree I got the NY strip cooked medium, but it ended up being well done. I felt like I've cooked better steaks since this one didn't have any char or seasoning on it. The mashed potatoes had a parmesan crust at the top, which was nice. Aside from that, it reminded me of instant mashed potatoes, but somehow not as good. The spinach was standard and nothing to stand out on.

They have brunch! And room for a Sunday walk-in in a neighborhood where most places were closed or crowded. My dessert and coffee were good, but prices are a little expensive. On the plus side, we weren't rushed. Service was fine, but either one person was new and was being trained, or ... Not sure if I would return, but if I was looking for a place to go to, and this was my only choice, I wouldn't be disappointed.

Saturday dinner here after going to an exhibit at the Botanical Garden. Low lights, open windows and a front deck- large parties and plenty of staff running around. Made reservations at 9:30pm - and we were able to get there early at 9:15. We were sat immediately as things were starting to wind down for the night. We started with the caprese salad which was good - the mozzarella ball was full of stracatella and tasted fresh. Tomatoes were very good - but little to zero basil-- which is a KEY INGREDIENT TO CAPRESE! No balsamic either. Meh. They had the immortal trio of my Italian dishes: parm, carbonara, and cacio e pepe. I went with carbonara which was good - but they had run out of bread for the table. It's an Italian place!?? Dessert I went with the cheesecake - which may have been the most sad cheesecake I've had in awhile. Oh they were out of tiramisu and the main chocolate torte. Meh - would suggest elsewhere.

Went here for a brunch event, and I can't say I was impressed, unfortunately. The staff was a bit all over the place, they got our order wrong, and the bottles of water they brought around to use had mildew on the lids (on multiple bottles, not just one). The food was alright, but not something I was terribly impressed by.

Not a huge fan of the food here. I got the carbonara and it was okay. I think the flavor profile just didn't align with my tastes. My friend got a red sauce pasta which I thought tasted better. The service is good and the interior of the restaurant was cute.

We LOVED this place! We had some really expensive Italian food while we were in town and this was better! I made a reservation here about an hour before and we had no wait when we arrived. It was pretty busy but the server was very attentive. The restaurant is pretty dark inside, it has good date vibes. Get the sparkling water, it is the best sparkling water I have ever had! I ordered the rigatoni alla vodka and it was delicious, the sauce is amazing! Definitely would return next time we are in town!

Got the burger highly do not recommend asked for medium the meat was still red not a good burger. Fries were too burnt. Tried lobster Mac n cheese that was really good. Bottomless deal is $26 not bad if you can drink

Lasagna

This is the worst Italian restaurant I've been to in manhattan. Our table ordered their best selling lasagna, squid ink pasta, pesto, and vongole pasta for main. Every single dish was a miss. The portion was large but the food itself tasted poorly - Lasagna was the most disappointing as it tasted like microwave food. The worst item on the menu was definitely the tiramisu which might have been expired since the lady finger was unbelievably dry. The service was actually really good but the food was absolutely terrible. I've never been to a restaurant where I hated every dish I ordered.

This is a great place to dine before or after a show near the theater district ( that's one of three ?) I am in for the theater a lot and never been here. We were pleasantly greeted at the front desk and given our choice of seating . Our waiter was very accommodating. Everything was delicious! I'll post pics of the food. I will definitely be back here!

Check-in was quick and easy, and even though it was a full house for a Saturday night, we were still able to find seats without an issue. The space was definitely lively and a bit crowded, but there was still enough room to move around comfortably. Our bartender was really sweet and made great drinks , the cranberry vodka and Long Island were both spot on. We didn't pay extra for the additional glasses to smash, but the six cups included were enough to make the experience fun and satisfying for a casual night. I can see why people would want to buy a full bucket though as it definitely adds to the excitement. The crowd was respectful, and the bathrooms were decently clean, which is always a plus. Can't complain. They have four booths in the back maybe it was three. I did notice one of the hanging lights was from an 80s pizza hut joint. Letting you know now the paper towels for your face at the table felt like jail toliet paper, very rough. The bar doesn't have bar stools with backs! You either need to get one or two tables by their mini kitchen, very hot there not recommended for preimenopause or menopausal women or one of the booths. This is a great bar they played 60s music a lot. Heard some weird al too! Very random and fun place to be. The bartender was nice as well as security! Try the burger! Worth the $9!!

The energy is right there, hovering, but it never actually lands. It's giving "almost iconic" but not quite--like a party that never fully starts. And that's what gets me. Because this bar could EASILY be that spot. The kind people plan their week around. Where are the themed nights? Where's the drama? The chaos? Give me a reason to come back on a random Wednesday. Do a city-event tie-in, a holiday takeover, literally anything that makes it feel alive instead of just... existing. Because right now it feels like a missed opportunity wearing a cute outfit. BUT--let's talk about the one thing they absolutely did not fumble: the view. The VIEW??? Insane. Genuinely stunning. The kind of view that makes you pause mid-sentence and remember you're in New York and not just spiraling in your own life choices. It's carrying the entire experience on its back, respectfully. So yeah. I'd come back... but mostly for the view and the potential. If they ever decide to actually do something with this space? It could be dangerous (in a good way). Until then, it's vibes... just not fully realized ones.

The view is gorgeous and sweeping. The service is attentive and professional. The drinks are sophisticated. I ended up here because I saw a video about their gin and tonic. I also got the foreign forage, "a bourbon smash with a mint zing." It was also a delicious take on a classic. They have several types of cocktails, all broken down by spirit and flavor profile. They also offer a lot of spirits made in New York State. They have cocktails with earthy notes, fruity notes, fancy martinis, and a section boasting limited edition and special spirits, if you're "feeling fancy" and wanna cough up 35 bucks instead of 20 or 25! They have a bar snacks menu (sliders, nuts, and the like). I had their thick cut fries and they were light, seasoned, and tasty. I couldn't stop eating them. Midtown or not, I highly recommend this spot, which also has a couple other locations, including Gramercy.
