This was my first time dining here but I heard great things about this restaurant from some friends of mine so I knew that I needed to check it out for myself to see if it was worth the hype. We dined in and we were immediately seated at a comfortable booth. The restaurant was quite busy but it was fun. They had the cutest salt and pepper shakers, the restaurant including the bathrooms were clean, and they had a photo booth downstairs for guests to enjoy although it cost extra. I ordered the cheese burger with a side salad. The burger was delicious and the salad to dressing ratio was perfect. The quality of the ingredients was above the average standard and the service was quick and efficient. I also ordered a virgin bloody Mary and it came with unusual toppings but they were still delicious. I enjoyed everything that had come out of the kitchen and I can honestly say that I had a great time with the experience that I had with each of the senses. This restaurant is inside the standard highline hotel. I ate here a couple of times for breakfast and then also at the bar for oysters. The breakfast is great. I had two eggs, bacon potatoes. My friend had an omelette each time I came here for breakfast. Service was fast. Food was fresh hot as I expected. For the bar, the oysters were delicious. You're not overly briny. I love that this gem is tucked away in a cozy little corner of the Meatpacking District. It is just next to the Standard Hotel which can get a little sceney, but for weekend brunch on a sunny day, it's nice to walk through the crowded streets of Chelsea into a more calm area to enjoy a good meal. Everything I had here was delicious. From the smoothie at the bar to the actual meal at the table, everything was amazing! The menu was quite extensive and I'm so grateful they have a vegetarian biscuits and gravy option- my favorite breakfast dish! Totally caught off guard when we walked into this location 2 weekends ago with my wife for valentine weekend. There was a small mix-up with my drink (not sure if it was the bar or the server), but one of the many waitresses, Rashida, was an absolute saint. She went above and beyond to make sure I was happy and comfortable and genuinely cared that I left with a good experience. I was sitting in the Gingerbread Room (the living room) and it was absolutely adorable--very après-ski / Christmas themed. Such a cozy spot for anyone looking for a cute, intimate lounge that isn't packed during the daytime. There's also a great outdoor area. I ordered the grilled cheese with tomato bisque, which was incredible, along with a seasonal drink--both were excellent. My husband and I chose to eat here while out on a short vacation trip to see the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center, which didn't work out because the tree wasn't up yet. However, The standard Grill was a nice surprise, albeit GROSSLY overpriced! We were seated fairly quickly in what seemed like a 'far back corner!' I would attempt to guess because we weren't dressed in our Sunday best like many of the other guests. Annelise L., our waitress was slow to come to the table, possibly not knowing right away that we had been seated! When she did make it to the table, she was 'trying too hard' to impress. She seemed a bit 'stiff.' After we crossed that bridge, she relaxed a bit and was actually joking around with us! She was quick to answer my husband's questions about the specific menu items he was interested in and make recommendations. The mushroom risotto was extremely delicious. My husband had scallops & a side of fries with a glass of water. I had a soda. The bill was excessively overpriced at $102! As the night wore one, Annalise must have gotten busy. She was definitely slow to return to the table, bring refills, and remove empty plates & glasses. While the food was good, the service was sub-par, the menu selection limited, and the bill overpriced. I was very pleasantly surprised by the Standard Grill. I was staying at The Standard and this is their attached breakfast lunch resto, so I came in with the expectation of typical overpriced hotel food but I was so wrong. The breakfast and brunch menu is eclectic with multiple sweet and savory options that were reasonably priced. I ordered a shashuka and the portion size was awesome with two large slices of sourdough bread and really striking and savory flavor. Their buttermilk pancake stack was perfectly soft and just the right amount for either solo or to be shared. The waiter was extremely friendly and understanding as I had to expense my bill to my hotel stay but I hadn't received a room yet on my morning of check in, they were able to work it all out without having to bother me. The restaurant seating options are also really diverse with an outdoors patio, a front atrium that is better lit, and a cozier indoors with a wooden and red leather feel. Loved the restaurant for brunch and recommend this one even to those not staying at the hotel! read more

Ok I spent 5 days at the standard Highline and had multiple meals in the grill. So the eggs Benedict were totally mediocre.. the sauce needs work. The freshly squeezed orange juice at $10.00 a glass is a wonder to behold. I had bacon eggs and toast each other day and it was a perfectly serviceable breakfast. In the morning it's a nice bright space somewhat welcoming. Like most things related to the standard the place is slightly funky. One lunch I had the standard burger which was char broiled and very tasty. Way too big for my taste. It was good. Overall we ate many meals here in our group collectively and nobody had anything bad to say about any thing we ate. They serve a great cappuccino. We drank many!! Overall we were well taken care of. Bring lots of dough. This joint ain't cheap. They have very healthy options I tend to avoid them. Break up your large group into tables (vs a big group at a big table) to avoid a large minimum.... With no family and friends in town we opted for Thanksgiving date night for the two of us in the cozy dining area of the Standard Grill... and they oversold so we were squished into a table in the bar... which meant overspill of drinkers standing and jostling our table while eating. Opted for the three course prix fix Thanksgiving dinner: Chicory salad was unappetizing and smelt of garbage that was left to fester... Turkey, Brussels sprouts and green beans were superb. Absolutely loved the maple accent to all elements that really brought it together. Good wine pairings. Dessert deserted us... despite ordering the pumpkin pie... 20 min wait for plates to be cleared and further 25 without dessert arriving so we cancelled it and they comped the drinks ... wife tasted her pie and insult to injury it had a long hair in it hahaha. Great people watching and fun to reminisce on all the neighborhood changes in the MPD since the club kid days of the 90s and early aughts. A friend and I stopped in on Thursday evening for happy hour. To partake, you need to be at the bar (great counter and some small tables on the side overlooking Washington St). Tthankfully the bar wasn't crowded. Happy hour is from 4-7pm M-F. My friend got there at 6:30pm and ordered a glass of rose. One of my favorite breakfast places when I visit Manhattan. This old fashioned American diner serves great breakfast with a modern flair. It is also close to the High Line away from the city. We like sitting outside but inside dining has cool decor. It does get busy so reservations are recommended, otherwise the wait time could be substantial. Off the breakfast menu, the organic egg dishes were good as the avocado toast. Service was great but sitting on the outside during peak times may slow down table service- just people watch and enjoy your Cawfee! :) highly recommended! read more

Well, we went for brunch hoping the bad ratings were from the dinner food, but no. The food looks ok but the flavor was seriously lacking. The steak was tough and potatoes tasted like old oil. The menu has a great selection of egg dishes for brunch, plus some sweeter options (pancakes etc.), and also oysters, a lobster roll and some non breakfast-y options. I got the Turkish eggs to try something new--should have taken a pic. Poached eggs. Chili oil, yogurt, roasted cherry tomatoes, garlic and mint with toasted baguette slices. Super delicious(!) and eggs on point with runny yolk. My friend had a BLT with an egg and fries which he liked a lot on delicious looking bread. The interiors are warm and welcoming, a bit dark and atmospheric with plenty of space. The restaurant is located in one of the trendiest neighborhoods in NYC, the Meatpacking District, so expectedly parking was scarce. Table was immediately available on a Friday. This was the perfect place for a warm spring/summer night solo dinner! I was in the city for work and walked over to the Standard Grill: the outdoor seating was so comfortable and pretty. I had the crispy potatoes and the jumbo prawns. My gosh they were jumbo! Everything was presented well, the food was delicious. It's great for people watching in the area and enjoying company, but the food was lack luster for us. Food Eggs Benedict- standard, no frills Lobster roll- not their forte. I would skips this. But the fries are pretty good! Standard Burger- I do not think this is the best in the city- would skip this Pancakes- they came to the table undercooked- batter running when cut into. Good food, real "American" style portions! FOOD I thought some of the dishes were quite good. We got an assortment of dishes for the table, including the pancakes which were quite delicious. I got the avocado toast for myself. The toast itself was okay and the avocado had mint running through it which I found to be a bit strange. However, the crispy potatoes were quite delicious and made the entire dish worth it in my eyes. The prices also weren't out there crazy, which I appreciated. AMBIANCE The inside of the restaurant was quite spacious. In fact, when you go downstairs it's amazing how much space there really is at this restaurant. There is a large dining area in the back that's more dimly lit, less natural light and has a more moody vibe (that's where we sat). The front of the restaurant is more well lit and reminds me of a diner. Overall, it was a great space and on Wednesday morning there really isn't a lot of people there so we felt we had the entire restaurant to ourselves! Always on point! A stunning Saturday in the city. Wanted Oysters and champagne after getting our culture on at The Whitney. Standard Grill is our go to place for this. Beautiful space and great food and service! I made a rezee for 6pm in the dining room just so we had one but we really wanted to be outside in the bustle of it all ppl watching on such a magnificent Spring afternoon. Meatpacking Dist. Is made for that! It was hoppin when we walked up a few minutes early so I figured no way but the goddess at the front desk made my wishes come true and seated me and my guests in the covered outdoor patio at the perfect table. It was beautiful, comfortable and relaxed while still being in the mix. Street action was right there but without being "on the street"! Service was lovely although they were working hard. An oyster was missed and they weren't perfectly released but that is being picky. Our server rectified the missing bivalve and was on our every need after that. The burgers that surrounded us at every table for 2 hrs looked outrageous and from how many were served I'd say they are a popular menu item there!!! Guess it's on my list for next visit.
