Stopped by Do Not Disturb for drinks and ended up having such a great time. I didn't eat this visit, but everything else about the experience made me excited to come back and try dinner. The space is super cozy and cute with a great vibe. The music was on point and the service was warm and attentive. Everyone was friendly, and we never felt rushed. We ordered the Thug Passion and the Strawberry Creams, and both cocktails were excellent. The Thug Passion was flavorful and well-balanced, while the Strawberry Creams was delicious and honestly one of those drinks you immediately want another of. You can tell thought was put into the cocktail menu. I really appreciated how comfortable and inviting the atmosphere was. It's the kind of place you can stop into for a couple drinks and end up staying longer than you planned. Even though I didn't have dinner this time, seeing the food coming out and enjoying the overall experience definitely convinced me that I need to come back for a full meal. I really thought these were going to be well crafted cocktails but honestly, they just seemed like mixed drinks. I do recommend the crispy flight if you love crispy rice but it wasn't the best I've ever had. It was just a fun experience to try different flavor profiles. I think what left me with a really bad taste in my mouth was the fact that a glass shard somehow got into my leg and I showed the bartender, however, I didn't make a big deal about it. I just asked for a Band-Aid. It would've been nice to feel important as a customer and guest of the establishment...there was no courtesy given, even though the bartender could visibly see that I was bleeding from it. While I really enjoyed my drink, which was called Silk City, per the server's recommendations, I overall thought that most of the items were severely overpriced, especially for the amount given. My friend and I visited here and enjoyed the dark vibe and the environment, which was pretty good for dates. If one is okay with the prices, then I think this would be a great place for good drinks and vibes. Honestly I am not certain if the whole concept of crispy rice was effective, because the textural juxtaposition made the flavors of the crispy rice and the fish completely separate, when they're really meant to be together as one entity. The crispy rice had a taste that'd be present for all fried food, which, if wasn't fried, would allow the fish and the rice to combine flavors, like big pieces of sushi. That itself to me should be enough. I really enjoyed my drink which is called Silk City, and the only thing I wished was that it was a bigger portion for $20. My friend also enjoyed her drink which was called Peligrosa, a mixture of mezcal, luxardo, pineapple, cilantro, and salt. My drink contained gin, pear & vanilla reduction, yuzu, pineapple juice, and orange bitters, and the combination was fruity sweet and not excessively sugary. It can be easy to miss if you aren't looking for it, but the cozy bar is located below ground level and a fairly small, intimate space. Service here was so friendly and I had a good experience. It was lively but not crowded and we were seated immediately. Service was pleasant and efficient. The food however was a tad bit underwhelming. Nothing blew us away we had a few apps to share. Most flavorful was the Mac and cheese which comes with pork just fyi and that's what enhanced the flavor profile. Brussel sprouts had perfect texture but were bland. Chicken wings were perfectly crispy but again flavor was lacking. The Kale salad was solid no complaints. My friends had the crab crispy rice and one said it was good the other didn't like the flavor at all. However, we all agreed our drinks were good across the board. Caught a last minute reservation for this hot spot. Vibes are immaculate! It giving modern cabin with fireplace that was perfect for a cold wrinter day. Upon arrival, security was super friendly and gave us a heads up about how busy it was. It was indeed busy! Unfortunately, the staff didn't do the best job at communicating. They seemed almost confused looking at the floor plan and walking back and forth of the space. I was told reservations were overbooked and had to wait almost an hour after my reservation. If I could give this more than five stars.. I would.. DND is the most perfect spot for a date night hands down. We had our Valentine's Day dinner and this spot is known to be romantic all year round. Upon entering it's a small bar, to where u then enter the dining room one side is lightly lit while the other is dimly lit. We sat in the light den and I'm so glad we did. I live a dark romantic vibe but at the same time I like being able to see my partner and the food we get lol.. For starters, the head chef is 21 years old.. like that is insanely impressive!!! The food was phenomenal. Everyone gets the crispy rice flight where it's a mix of lobster, crab, scallop, tuna, salmon, and one other I forgot.. but the flavors of every single crispy rice was so so delicious. I would get it again in a heartbeat. The drinks were all great they're all fun named. I got the afterglow and the trick daddy, both yummy! We also got oysters, I love me some oysters so the only note I would have would be for $30 these oysters were TINYYYY.. prob what happens when u order it on a non "ber" month tho. Was standing outside for like five minutes before I realized the entrance was right in front of me. The drinks were solid, and well made. The vibe was cute; we sat at the bar and the bartender was friendly and it wasn't too busy when we met up around 6pm on a Friday, though that was a while ago. I enjoyed my drink, which I forget the name of, but it had a nice citrus flavor running through it. DO NOT blink or you might just miss it though It looks like a bar once you walk in but there are two other dining rooms in the back that would be perfect for a small/medium party all year round. The greenroom in the far back is definitely my favorite. Whoever is on the aux keeps the vibe going with great music and the staff is super knowledgable, we were sat almost immediately. The food is great for sharing, it's on the pricier side (expected for West Village) but I'd come here everytime if ambience is important to you. Encore: Lobster pasta 3.9/5, iykyk a lot of spots don't pull of lobster pasta well, but DND's option is a little spicy with a yummy pomodorro that only gets better with time. Comforting without feeling heavy, this makes for great leftovers. Surprise surprise: Brussel sprouts 3.8/5 I liked the char on this, I wish the sauce on the bottom was more evenly distributed throughout the dish. I took black salt off a drink rim and it really set this off, so for my taste I'd go a smidge more salt. ALSO the tiramisu mille crepe cake is light, yummy and perfect for sharing.
