Tucked right inside the 50th Street subway station stairs in Midtown, Nothing Really Matters is a nice place if you love hidden speakeasies with a proper retro vibe. Going on a Monday evening turned out to be a brilliant decision as it was not crowded so we could comfortably sit, chill, and chat --the mood was fully set with neon lights and a cool underground disco setup. While the menu mostly keeps it simple with snacks like gourmet chips and nuts , yo can order from near by pizza shop or order from any other place. We ordered a Caipirinha and a Mule; the Caipirinha had that superb balance of sour lime and smooth cachaça, while the Mule was chilled, super punchy, and packed a fantastic ginger hit. It's definitely a great spot to unwind with good drinks in a properly unique NYC setting!
It's quite amazing how New York City has these cool spots like this located in a subway station. We grabbed pizza next-door and then hopped on over to nothing really matters and they accommodated us right away even though we were a seven person party. Both waitresses were super accommodating and making sure that our glasses were always full and we really really loved the espresso martinis with their beautiful design. Also shout out to the DJ. They were playing the best throwback songs.
One of my favorite bars in all of NYC. It's such a cool hidden spot in the subway, and the bartenders were AMAZING. It's a nice dark, chill, relaxing place, that is open late and also serves pizza with the place next door. My best friend and I were there in August and I knew I had to take her here. Mia was our server and she was the BEST! I'll be back soon :) Highly recommend!!!!
This speakeasy was definitely a mission to find since it's literally inside a train station. Once you're in, it's a cool little spot and surprisingly not busy at all. I only had one drink and it was just okay, nothing crazy. The bathroom was probably my favorite part. Disco lights, fun vibe, but super dim and dark. Still worth checking out for the experience.
What a gem! Our friend brought us here after dinner to have a few drinks. Tucked behind a nondescript door on your way to the 50 St Subway Station, the Nothing Really Matters bar is a great find. Good drinks, a beautiful bar and fun music make this spot special. Drop in.
While on a work trip in NYC and waiting for our dinner reservation to come around at a nearby restaurant, we decided to pop into Nothing Really Matters. We expected this to be somewhat of a speakeasy but really this was just a bar in the subway area. The room was dark and the music was really loud so I didn't have high hopes (especially as I'm there with colleagues) but gave it a try anyways. After reviewing the menu, I decided on the "I'm Not a Player" as I like the banana infusion and was pleased when it arrived because of the presentation (nicely done). I took a sip and was surprised at how strong it tasted but I would never complain about that! After just one drink, we had to go and I was surprised that I was tipsy after just one drink and my colleagues all noted the same. While the prices aren't cheap by any means, I was pleasantly surprised by the strength and taste of the drinks! All in all, the place isn't my usual vibe but I'm glad we stopped in to give it a try.
I'm so glad my friend brought me here. It's an absolute gem! It feels like a very chic hole in the wall and the overall vibe is cozy. I had the espresso martini and the picture should speak for itself... beautiful presentation and so tasty. It has a touch of cinnamon that is to die for. Joseph & Faith took care of us and they were wonderful! So quick and attentive. You can also order pizza off the menu from the place next door and they deliver it to you. We of course indulged and it was delicious. Will definitely be back!
If you're up for a divey, adventurous feel, check out Nothing Really Matters. Located just steps into the subway station-don't worry, you don't have to pay the subway fare to get in. Jospeh, one of the bartenders, took good care of care of us. Made a solid Martini and Manhattan. They play some old school 90-2000s Hip Hop. And for a bonus-their bathroom is like a teamLabs experience.
You can only expect wonderful things when you're walking into a speakeasy in a subway station in NYC. And wonderful drinks and people is exactly what we were met with (both nights). Faith is officially one of our favorite bartenders in the city. Her smile brightens up your day immediately, AND she can make killer cocktails. I am so glad we only live a few blocks from here. While we can only enjoy this while our kids are away with the grandparents this week, we do plan to figure out how to sneak here for a drink once they are back home! The vibe is very chill. Granted, we went on a Sunday/Monday night, but even when it's busy I don't see it being overly wild :)
I've been here a couple of times and it was a good experience. The place is located going down to the 1 train on 50th next to See No Evil pizza also good. The bar/speakeasy is dark and moody atmosphere with an awesome music playlist. It's on the smaller side so it can gets crowded quick. The service was excellent each time. The bartenders that stood out was a young lady with brown hair I forgot her name but she made an very good drink. Also the two fellas Sky and Salon(sorry if that's not the spelling) both can make a good azz drink. I order an old fashioned & a smoked old fashioned both were very delicious no complaints. I also tried one their signature drink the cloak and dagger. Its similar to an old fashion but they add Twany port. It wasn't bad but I think the port gave it an after taste that wasn't great for me. You can also order pizza from the spot next door and it was good. If your in the area this is a great place to check out. A+ I do recommend.
Came here after attempting to escape the rain. A hidden bar in the subway. Ambience wise, it's a small space with some high top tables and bar seating, nor real decor other than the bottles. No happy hour so drinks range from $19-$ 40s, so expensive. The bartender was talented, nice, and made a well crafted drink. I got a run based drink that had a nice balance and packed a punch.
A great place to take a date that you don't wanna hear yapping! The music is so loud, don't expect to be able to have any conversations with any of your friends. Came here on a Monday night and was able to get a reservation easily. Got the espresso martini which was super enjoyable with the perfect balance of espresso to vodka. I loved the set up of all the bottles and of course a speakeasy in the subway is cool af. Just would not come here with the intentions of having good conversations as we even asked if the music would be turned down just a tad bc it was at a good level until a group of ladies got real routy and had asked them to turn up the music. They said no lol which I'm all about having fun but I think it's important to consider everyone.

"There's a bar in the subway and it's amazing! When we were trying to find a cool spot to go after our Broadway play, I looked towards the Infatuation app and we were close to this Bar. When we put the directions in, we could not find this location, which is funny because I looked and it said it was in the subway, literally. Such a fun spot, excellent cocktails and extremely nice bartenders! A great spot to go after a show. You can order pizza nearby and bring it into the bar if you get hungry! Cheers. read more

Some amazing cocktails in this hidden cocktail bar inside a subways station! I loved their Gatsby drinks! They have a some special cocktails with edible gold in it ! Service is great and friendly and made some great recommendations read more
Ordered: Cherish (~$19): pineapple gin, strawberry infused fiero, strawberry, and lemon She Drives Me Crazy (~$19): vodka, combier watermelon, amaro, basil, watermelon, and lime Aya's take: Tucked away by the subway station entrance, we decided to grab a quick drink around 8pm on a Friday. It was busy! We were able to snag a spot at the bar. This place feels like a speakeasy; dark, dim, with red lights, yet has a trendy and contemporary feel to it. Honestly, I spent way too long looking at the menu and nothing stood out to me. We decided to go with Cherish and She Drives Me Crazy. Both were a bit too sweet for my liking and I felt that some of the flavors were overpowering others. I wish I had gotten a recommendation from the bartender instead because they seem pretty knowledgeable on crafting drinks. It's also super loud in here; so if you're looking for a spot to wind down or have a conversation, this isn't it. Glad I checked this out and don't forget, Nothing Really Matters! read more
We had a great time visiting this bar on our nyc trip, it was super cool to walk down towards the subway and turn into a bar. The cocktails were fun and made well! The bouncer at the door was also hilarious. Cool little spot! read more

I LOVE THIS BAR! I've lived in NYC for 10 years now and I still think it's one of the coolest places in the city. A lot of people downtown don't know about it or come here, so for me, it's a nice escape from that downtown crowd and it's fun to experience something different. The cocktail program is top-notch and so well thought out, there are multiple areas for seating, and even a space you can rent out for bdays. And the djs are always playing fun and upbeat music. Whenever someone asks me where to go out for drinks in Midtown, I always suggest this place. read more
Really cool vibes! Loved the people and drinks. There was a line to get in Saturday night but it wasn't too long and it moved pretty quickly. They played great music. It was pretty loud though. I had the espresso martini and the winter wonderland. The espresso martini was very good. Loved the flavor but wish it was more foamy since it said foam in the description. The winter wonderland was fun. Maybe a bit too sweet. Overall a fun bar to hang out at but not that great for conversation. read more
Great bar in the 50th 1 downtown station. They were playing great music (pop hits) the whole night. The waitress was super friendly and the drinks are on point. They had some fantastic hot cocktails with hot chocolate and chai that I recommend! Will be back! read more
My coworker and I wanted to check out a nearby bar before calling the night. We walked to Nothing Really Matters and had difficulty finding it. Had to read some reviews before realizing it's literally down in the subway station lol. Since it's weekday at 10pm, there wasn't much of a crowd. We had no issues sitting at the bar and ordering our drinks. I asked the bartender if I can get a bubbly, fruity, and refreshing drink. He said yes and even used real champagne! Great music and vibes! read more

Lively AF! Shoutout to JC - what a brilliantly attentive bartender! Location - enter the subway and you'll hear the Dj. Amazing music. It's very chill so if there are spots at the bar (if you haven't reserved) go for it. Be nice and swap with other people too Tbh I didn't like anything on the menu and asked JC to make me something fruity but less sweet. He made something I asked for something stronger he added a shot of mezcal again and it became a very tasty but potent drink. Btw JC kept us hydrated the entire time. We loved it. Drinks are 19-25$! You will have a good time I promise you :) read more
Despite being kind of hidden, it wasn't too hard to find this speakeasy. I got a mocktail--blackberry shrub and my sister got something boozy that was super tasty. For $6 you can get a big bowl of popcorn to share. The bar gets busy quickly. We went right after a 2 o'clock off broadway show, just after 4 o'clock and it started to fill up by the time we left about 45 minutes later. There's dark moody, disco vibes. The drinks were good, but not absolutely great. The service was really great. read more

I ran into this bar around 12:30a on a whim and I'm glad I tried it out! It's tucked into a subway station entrance near Times Square. There was no cover charge which was great after a long evening of dishing out cash. The drinks are around $20-22 each but they were very delicious. I enjoy a perfectly crafted cocktail so I got two lemon drops and the total was $44. There were reserved signs on all the tables but they assured us that we could go ahead and sit down. The bar is full stocked with whatever you might like and a million other options too. The music ranged from R&B, latin and rap while and the manager said the music changes depending on the DJ. They don't take song request btw. read more
I had soo much fun here! The bartenders were the sweetest. I ordered a drink not on the menue. I actually cant rave enough about my experience here. They were soo nice and I have to come again. The music was great. Whatever playlist it was I need to hear it again. Great vibes and great people and cool location read more

A limited drink menu but what we tried was nice. Spicy martini and their fig mezcal cocktail. Mezcal was a little too sweet for my liking but probably to be expected. Marketed as a speakeasy but really just next to the subway as it's own standalone bar read more
Came to this subway bar after seeing a show. There was a dj and I loved the vibes. The cocktails my partner and I had were VERY good. I've recommended to my friends that live locally and folks I know traveling to the area. read more
My girlfriend and I stopped here for drinks and a snack after a show. We absolutely loved it here. For food, we got a margherita pizza with prosciutto and it was absolutely delicious. Our first round of drinks were an espresso martini and a bee's knees. I loved the cinnamon and nutmeg in the espresso martini. The second round we got the milk & cookies and the chai tai. We got the chai tai iced and even though it was cold, you could still taste the spices in it. The milk and cookies was my favourite drink of the night. It was fun and delicious, and I love horchata anything. The staff was very nice and the bar itself is really cute. We definitely plan on coming back to try more drinks! read more
