We came here by a friends suggestion as this way THE place to go before a Knicks game so we took them up on it. It wasn't too far of a walk from MSG - two avenues. Initially, we sat in the back by the bar and ordered burgers but then we moved and decided to try the self pour option. What's cool about this place is that you can buy a card (reminded me of buying a game card at the arcade) and then scan your card at any of the taps to pour your own beer! There are plenty of options from lagers, IPAs, seltzers etc. It's a fun way to try something new!

We didn't order any food so can't comment on that. We also did the happy hour unlimited beer for three hours and that's self serve, so no interaction with servers. The place had a great vibe but slightly too loud to talk, however, I enjoyed the wide selection of draft beers to choose from.

This was a spontaneous choice for a work happy hour but it was actually so great! An amazing happy hour deal where you get unlimited drafts that are SELF POUR!!! How sick is that I had so much fun I tried all their like 7 cider flavors it was amazing. We also shared some food, nachos were fine and the wings were super good! I'm definitely saving this place and itll be a regular work happy hour spot in the future!! It was a bit packed and busy so we were cramped in standing room for a bit before a table opened up but that makes sense. Loved the variety of sports being played well, I feel like it's so rare to have tennis playing but I was so happy to see that it was!!

Tap Haus has a really unique vibe - mostly as a sports bar, but not in an overwhelming way. There are plenty of TVs, and most of the seating is bench-style, with a few smaller tables and 4-5 stools at a bar toward the back. The music's never too loud, and the food is surprisingly good! But their real claim to fame is the wall of self-serve beer taps. Something like 40 beers on rotation, with a prepaid card system that works really well. And they usually have some great beers, in addition to the sports bar staples and easy-drinking lagers. Service is usually excellent, though wait times for food can be on the longer side when it's busy. And I've had taps run out on some of my visits (though there are always other choices to make up for it). The people are all super friendly, definitely a big plus to have wonderful staff. Overall, a great option for watching sports in a laid back setting!

Came on a Saturday after an early dinner and there weren't enough stools. You have to wait around to snag some. They have a wide beer selection and some cocktails at the bar. They have plenty of tvs to watch sports. It's a nice casual spot. Service was nice. I enjoyed their whiskey sour. We didn't order food but the fried chicken smelled good.

Stumbled upon the gem while waiting for our table for KBBQ nearby, and so happy we did! Fantastic beer selection, cool vibe, and easy to use tap machines. I've been to a few other novel self service tap rooms, where you pay by the ounce, but can try so many different beers. While the price per ounce may be more expensive (if you get say 16oz) vs a pint at a beer bar, you are paying to be able to try lots of different beers. They also are currently doing a cash promotion - where if you pay with cash you get more on your tap card (eg; $50 cash gets you $70 worth of tap card - and it doesn't expire or depreciate in case you don't use it all in one go)!

So glad that my boyfriend discovered this spot. We visited the first time on a Friday night. It was surprisingly quiet at first, but they picked up as the night went on. I loved the aesthetic, seating, and also a plus with all of the TVS for sports fans. The selection of beers and ability to pour on your own was great and so much fun. We also enjoyed the club sandwich with french fries and wings. Happy campers all around. Definitely would go back and recommend to anyone looking for a chill spot to enjoy beer, good eats and a nice atmosphere.

This is a really cool concept with the self serving beer! You basically get a preloaded card with money, go up to the beer you want and tap on the beer. There is a 10 second timer for when the tap shuts off as well. It's really close to Penn Station so very convenient for commuters. Tons of TVs for when there are games on too. There wasn't any games on when we went, but I suggest getting there early if you plan to be there for one since I heard it get super crowded. There are soooo many beers to try so we went around and tried some first before choosing the one we wanted!

It definitely has the vibe of a speakeasy, especially with the jazz band playing. We went with the brunch special which is $35 for bottomless drinks with the purchase of an entree. It pays off if you're having more than 2 drinks and we made sure we did! Bloody Mary's were excellent! The food here was outstanding. I had the 3 Eggs Any Style and my wife had the Breakfast Flatbread. Those dishes as well as our friends were well made and delicious. If you're headed to a play or just in the area, I'd recommend stopping here to eat, drink or both!

We're three young women in the service industry and still felt completely unwelcome--the hostess told us to find our own seating even though the sign said see hostess. The bartender was rude and uninterested, standing 5 min+ at the bar without even being acknowledged. Another staff member was dismissive when closing us out and rolled her eyes when asked to take cash. The overall vibe felt like we weren't wanted, even though it was only around 11 PM. The DJ was underwhelming and the bathroom was vile. The most pleasant part was the below average $20 drinks. For an expensive, well-known spot, this was a very poor experience. Couldn't pay me to return.

Warm lighting, good energy, and a chill crowd make it an easy place to hang whether you're starting your night or winding it down. One of the best parts is the menu. It's super affordable for NYC, but still delivers on quality. Everything feels simple, satisfying, and done right. We ordered the burger and fries, wings and fries, plus a margarita and a mojito. The burger was juicy and filling, the wings were flavorful, and the fries were hot and crispy. The drinks were solid, refreshing, and exactly what you want at a spot like this. Location-wise, it's perfect. The Grizzly Pear is close to so many things, making it a great stop before or after exploring the neighborhood, catching up with friends, or heading to another spot nearby. The service really stood out too. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and welcoming without being overbearing, which added to the relaxed vibe of the place. Overall, The Grizzly Pear is a great go-to if you want good food, decent drinks, a cool atmosphere, and fair prices all in one spot. Definitely a place I'd come back to again.

Food is good, service was great. Management is horrible…read more I have been frequenting this restaurant for a long time. I noticed recently that there was a $2 transaction fee added to my bill. This was not a credit card fee (that I can understand). It is a "transaction fee" that is applied to all invoices. Are you kidding me! I have no trouble paying a an extra dollar for a burger. But if you try to rip me off by sneaking in extra charges, I will never come back. You just lost a regular customer over a $2 charge.

They had outdoor seating along 9th ave and 51st street. We sat inside at a hightop , along their big open windows of 9th; great in between of inside and outside. Plenty of options for a big or small group, or solo! Our server was McKenna, who was incredibly attentive, we never felt like we were waiting or had to wave anyone down. The food came quickly, and was great. Nothing that changed our lives, but hot, quick, and delicious. I can see this becoming a regular spot for when we can't decide on where to go and just want somewhere dependable and consistent. Inside is like a typical Irish pub: long bar, wood everywhere, comfy high tops and booth seating along the wall. Keep in mind that it is a sports bar with TVs everywhere, so they will be playing the major sport of the season. The volume isn't too loud though, enough to hear, but don't need to cover your ears. The bottomless option on the weekend is great, 2-3 drinks and you get your money's worth. The bloody's are good quality, with a good bite of Tabasco and horseradish (I prefer that!) and the mimosas are bubbly forward (they're not skimping you with mostly OJ). The food prices for brunch aren't crazy either. Selection is a bit limited, but seeing as this is a pub/tavern, I think they have a pretty good mix. Overall, would absolutely recommend. If you have a big group, have some common sense and book a reservation, but likely able to do walk-ins for small groups, couples, or singles easily. This is a great option for laid back vibes in HK.
