Within a few minutes our waitress came to take our order and answer questions. The waitress was really nice and helpful. We just stopped by for drinks today and no food. We ordered a Bacardi and Coke, Old Fashioned, and a cocktail called Heart Beatz. The Bacardi and Old Fashioned tasted normal. The Heart Beatz was a very unique tasting drink, it wasn't a strong drink nor was it weak. It had a very pleasant taste of pomegranate as well, I could've drank these all night long. Overall, the atmosphere was nice with the live music, the decor fun, service wonderful, and drinks delicious. The drink prices are on the expensive side but everything else was perfect.

We also tried the tableside Alfredo, where they prepare it in a Parmesan wheel, and it was absolutely delicious! The lamb chops were another highlight. Everything we ordered was amazing, and everyone in our group loved their meals. On top of the incredible food, the service was wonderful. The staff was so nice and welcoming, which made the entire experience even better. Chroma is definitely one of my favorite spots in the Lake Nona area. The guy who came to the table with wine was awesome. He didn't just pour and walk away they explained where each wine was from, what it was made from, and why it paired with the course. That made the wine pairing feel like part of the experience and definitely worth the upgrade. Then came the Tropical Tres Leches... I LOVED it! Easily my favorite and the perfect way to finish dinner. Overall, BACÁN had great food, atmosphere and service with an awesome wine pairing, and a dessert I'd definitely come back for.

The wait staff was way more attentive this time, filling my water every moment it was even half empty. They walked us through any items that we had questions about and was very thorough in their explanation in case there were ingredients that we might've not enjoyed. As part of my magical dining experience, I got the calamari, the meatloaf, and the bread pudding, ALL of which were fantastic. The calamari came crispy and stayed that way even though we sat outside in the humidity. It was dressed in a sweet sour spicy sauce - this was the standout appetizer of the 3 that we ordered. The calamari came with spicy chilis that the waitress asked if I wanted on the side minding my spice tolerance, I asked for it to be as the chef prepares it which is right on top, I should've asked for it on the side because it was very spicy. Fortunately, the spice does not permeate through the sauce and I was able to pick around the chilies. The meatloaf was ok but I can't really complain about a dish that is boring to begin with. Everything was good but nothing innovative or interesting. Very hearty and a lot of food, but if this dish was a paint color, it would be agreeable-gray - a crowd pleaser, filling, and no fuss. I will preface the dessert with the fact that I love bread pudding, i compare all bread puddings to Ohana's at Disney's Polynesian resort, and this definitely met or exceeded that bar. The portion was perfectly served in a mini cocotte, the bread was toasted on the top, gooey on the inside, full butterscotch flavors throughout, it was heavenly as we watched the sun set behind of the beautiful lake where the restaurant sits. The food here has definitely upgraded but my main complain that I had before was the attentiveness of the waitstaff and they turned that completely around. A great place to check out that I will return to many times.

She was the epitome of southern hospitality. Her welcoming and soft demeanor made our dinner great. On to the food. We were skeptical on how fresh the sushi would be. And we were pleasantly surprised. We ordered a variety of rolls, nigiri, and sashimi. The fish was fresh and the serving was large. Some places would put more rice and throw off the fish to rice ratio but Maki upheld a high standard. And the price was all reasonable. If you are in the area, you will not be disappointed.

Maki Hibachi used to be a go-to restaurant for both myself and my family, which makes writing this…read morereview particularly disappointing. Unfortunately, our last several experiences, both dining in and ordering takeout, have fallen extremely short of what we once enjoyed. About a month or 2 go, we ordered four hibachi meals for takeout. Two were incorrect order and we were missing extra sides of fried rice and noodles. To make matters worse, the hot meals were packaged alongside the salads, leaving the lettuce warm and wilted to the point of being inedible. When I called, I was offered a remake of the two incorrect meals. However, when I later attempted to redeem that offer, it was not honored. Frustrating, but I decided to let it go. Fast-forward to yesterday as our most recent visit. We decided to give Maki Hibachi another chance and celebrate a family birthday locally with a party of seven. The restaurant itself has a nice interior and a welcoming atmosphere. However, it's almost always extremely busy, and while we've experienced slower service here before, this particular visit was significantly worse than usual. As for the food, there were some positives. The garlic edamame was really good and something I would recommend. Unfortunately, the crab Rangoon spring rolls were a completely different story. At $9 for just three very small spring rolls, the value was disappointing. I couldn't taste any crab whatsoever, and between the portion size and lack of crab flavor, this appetizer was absolutely not worth the price. It's definitely something I would not order again or recommend. For our main meals, we ordered several hibachi combinations, two children's meals, additional noodles and fried rice, and sushi. The sushi, which we ordered before our entrées, somehow didn't arrive until after we had finished eating. At that point, we sent one roll back and let the birthday boy enjoy his. Our extra noodles were noticeably smaller portions than on previous visits, and the additional fried rice never arrived. Requests for extra sauces also took an unreasonable amount of time. Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment was the service. Throughout dinner, our table remained cluttered with stacked dirty dishes and trash. We were left reusing the same few napkins because, despite requesting additional napkins twice, they never arrived. Drink refills required multiple requests, and a refill requested to-go was never provided. Our waitress was largely absent unless delivering food. I understand that restaurants get busy, especially when managing larger parties. However, if a server is overwhelmed, management should provide adequate support rather than allowing the guest experience to suffer. Being busy is understandable; consistently overlooking basic service needs is not. Unfortunately, things didn't improve when the bill arrived. Several charges needed correcting, and the menu prices did not match what we were being charged. When I pointed out the discrepancies and an item we never received, the interaction became unnecessarily argumentative. I even offered to have them check the cameras above our table to verify that the missing fried rice was never delivered. After spending over $250, I was especially frustrated when our waitress made a point of telling us gratuity was automatically included, despite nobody asking. Automatic gratuity for larger parties is understandable, but it should never come at the expense of attentive service. I couldn't help but wonder whether knowing gratuity was guaranteed contributed to the lack of attention throughout our meal. My feedback to management: Please update your menus to reflect accurate pricing, improve order accuracy and takeout packaging, reconsider the portion sizes and value of certain appetizers, ensure promised resolutions are honored, and provide additional support when servers are handling multiple large parties. This restaurant used to be somewhere I genuinely enjoyed bringing my family. The atmosphere is still nice, and there are menu items worth enjoying, such as the garlic edamame. However, the repeated mistakes, inconsistent portions, poor service, and lack of accountability have completely changed my impression. At this point, I don't see myself returning for quite some time unless these issues are genuinely addressed. I also can't confidently recommend Maki Hibachi based on our recent experiences, particularly for larger groups. Smaller parties may have a better experience, but unfortunately, that hasn't been the case for us. It's disappointing to see a longtime family favorite fall this far short of the standards that originally kept us coming back.
