This was an AWESOME experience! I came here with 5 other work friends, after hosting 2 days of events at the Hyatt Regency in the Orlando Airport. We were dying for a place with fresh air and outdoor seating, so a colleague found Canvas and we were all completely on board. This exceeded all expectations. The outdoor table in a covered area on the lake was just what we needed and the space itself is beautiful. Our server was Elizabeth and she was someone who has a real gift for delivering great hospitality. We were a larger, last minute group and she really took great care of us so we were all grateful to be seated in her section and all said how excellent she was at her job. The drink list was awesome and they had a great variety of cocktails, mocktails, and wines by the glass/bottle. I had a watermelon ranch water to start, that was so light and refreshing, plus really unique. I then moved onto wine, but my colleagues ordered a variety of drinks like the Lake Side Collins, Espresso Martini, and Blood Orange Cosmo. One in our group who is pregnant really enjoyed the mocktails on the menu. We started with a few apps that Elizabeth recommended, including the whipped ricotta, buffalo chicken, and calamari. We had a lot of different food preferences, but everyone easily found something to order. I had a Caesar salad and truffle fries (the fries were good, but not truffle-y) since like a toddler, I filled up on apps, but everyone cleaned their plates. The portions are also HUGE - two of my friends split the mushroom calzone and a Caesar and it was probably enough food for 3 people. We ended by sharing the Nutella donuts at the table which was the best choice to wrap up a wonderful evening out after two really hard days of work. If I lived in the area, Canvas would be somewhere I'd want in regular rotation to visit - it was a great blend of amazing service, a beautiful ambiance and vibe, and wonderful food/drink options. Great food, but I didn't realize I'd be working as part of the staff during dinner. We still tipped... but at that point we probably should've clocked in instead. I swear this whole experience felt like a social experiment or something. We were quoted a 20-minute wait that turned into 40, which is fine, but when we got the "table ready" text and went up front, the staff didn't even know if our table was actually ready. Already confused. Then we get seated at a 4-person table. We ask if we can sit at the 2-person table literally right next to it (like... less than a foot away), and they say no. Instead, they have us pull apart the 4-person table ourselves to make it work... and we had to clean it too because there was still stuff on it. At this point I'm like ok so we're employees now? Then a manager comes over and asks us to pick up and rotate our table to make space for a couple with a baby. Mind you this is the SECOND time we've had to move our table. We do it... and then they don't even seat the couple there. So we just rearranged the restaurant for fun I guess. The hostess was also hovering and making small talk about a matcha I got from the coffee spot inside, which felt like she was trying to make up for the table situation but it just made everything more awkward. Also why are the water refills like that?? They kept coming by and pouring literal droplets instead of just filling the glass. And our server somehow had perfect timing in the worst way possible -- every single time my mouth was full, she would appear and ask how everything was. It became a running joke. At one point we were laughing so hard because we genuinely couldn't believe what was happening. The crazy part is the food was actually really good. We spent around $200, so I expected the experience to match. Overall... great food, but the service felt like a fever dream. Holy smokes! Five stars is an underrating! This place deserves 20 stars!! The atmosphere was amazing the food was astronomical and gastronomical, and the service was unmatched. It was definitely pricey but totally totally totally worth the experience. My server was Julie, and she should be running this place. Looking for a new place to try on our way home from a weekend at Epcot. Looked up a few places and this had some outdoor seating on a lake that sounded nice. We had reservations and from the looks of it that was a good idea since it filled up pretty quick and it was Sunday! Got our table outside on the lake. Looked over the menu. Grabbed a class of wine. Ordered. I got the Canvas burger. Really good. Great flavors on the meat and the toppings were fresh. Added an egg to 'breakfast it up'. They added bacon although I didn't ask for it. Good call! It was delicious. Upgraded to truffle fries and this was the only knock as they were not very truffaly but cooked nicely. Deb got the spicy beef salad. We had the best time at Canvas Restaurant & Market in Lake Nona Town Center! The plaza itself is so charming and inviting, it makes you want to slow down and stay awhile. We originally stopped in for drinks and dessert... and somehow ended up sharing appetizers and full meals too (no regrets ). We prepaid for the mother's Day Canvas Dockside brunch. , which was heavily advertised on their website at OpenTable for reservations. It was $40 per person. Private dining area, which is dockside next-door the actual restaurant so you had to sit in a big table with strangers kinda like old-fashioned cruising. And it was a buffet. So took 25 minutes for the omelette station. Different foods on the buffet, but most things were empty. Eggs empty. One yeah one omelette station for 90 people. This was set in the private dining room at dockside so they were 10 tables of 9+ an extra four top they placed in the corner. cause it looks like they over sold the event and had to put an extra four top table on the corner. I take these reviews very seriously cause I work on hospitality so I know. Eggs, the bacon or things were out the mac & cheese, The food were in chafing dishes and warming lamps. The food was cold. It was definitely not to temperature. We cruise a lot so we are buffet experts. . The restaurant is always delicious but we will not be doing this Mother's Day buffet again. We've eaten at Canvas many times before and have a great time. . We had an awesome Easter meal inside the restaurant. It was also very deceptive when you were making the reservation online you had to really read that it was for dockside not the actual restaurant cause we would've been perfectly happy to just sit at the restaurant because that's what we were expecting. We thought it would've been like Easter where they had special dishes for Mothet's day. We didn't realize it was like this private event buffet Switching out those chafing dishes while the line was long as all of them were empty. Somebody need to have been back there, switching it out while there was a line now the buffet is full, but everybody's done eating what's the point. I also worry about that the chafing dishes are not kept to temperature because the food was cold. The coffee and juice stations were constantly running out of coffee cups as well. You know you have 94 guests you gotta have more than 20 coffee cups. They also had the servers running back-and-forth trying to stock the station. I would've gotten a Cambro that rolls.and hat was covered that had all the refills of the juices in there and extra cups put it on that corner. That way you could stock it as things were running out not making these poor servers run back-and-forth for one carafe. It was not the best. The Happy hour prices are really good! I enjoyed this sangria that they make carbonated . We had a party of 20 and they gave us two servers and pretty fast service. I had a terrific Aperol spritz, but my husband's watermelon ranch water was as if someone thought about watermelon and dropped a dropped a teensy bit of pink food coloring in the drink. I don't even think a watermelon was waved over the drink. From his wince when he drank it I asked am I going to have to finish your drink? He did drink it, but he really didn't enjoy it. I should have put the three dollars worth of mint? Basil? In my purse for a later use. The bread service is a nice touch that is not so common. The butter was flavorful and well salted. None of the appetizers spoke to us and I knew I wanted dessert. We were both unsure what to get until we saw another diner get the chicken piccata. I love a good piccata but this was overpowered and a far too briny. The chicken was well prepared, but the sauce was just not enjoyable. I love a good caper, but these were the large caper berries and there really was just an over abundance of them. My husband had the bread and butter pudding, he loved the whipped cream, but these pudding was served cold. He ate it, but enjoyed some of my lime/coconut soft serve sundae. Will we back? Most likely not, we'd rather go to Nona Blue where we've never had a bad meal and it was actually more reasonable for the quality. read more

My husband and I decided to celebrate our anniversary at Canvas for lunch. When we walked in the hostess sat us by the lake with a beautiful view. Our waitress was phenomenal and helped us figure out what to get on the menu. All her recommendations were perfection. While we were waiting for our appetizers the server brought us a complimentary glass of champagne for my husband and I to toast to. It was such a nice gesture and the champagne was really good. With such a terrible rating, I would like to cover some positives. Bad with names, but definitely need to shine light on our Server. She provided exceptional professional customer service The other positive is Canvas has a great location overlooking the water. We requested a table overlooking the water and we were accommodated. The food is where they failed. Biscuits and gravy was so salty it was unbearable after a few bites no matter how hungry I was. The egg was completely overcooked and burned underneath. It was clearly visible and hard to understand how the cook would even allow it to go out. Probably just a lack of personal pride is the only reason. The poke salad was a complete failure. What to say about @canvaslakenona ? It was a first time experience for me and a friend; and there are mixed reviews. I opted for the Fish Tacos which was served with Yucca Fries and a cilantro sauce, while he chose Pork Belly Lettuce Wrapped Tacos. For our side, we chose the Potatoes Au'Gratin. Honestly, the pork belly tacos were a major hit, I highly suggest to order that in comparison to the others. The fish tacos were incredibly bland. Visited Canvas for lunch on a Friday. No wait but if you want to sit overlooking the water, make a reservation. We sat in the bar area where it can get warm due to the large windows. We were sweating by the end of our meal. I'm sure the alcohol didn't help but something to be mindful of. We had the meatloaf with peas and mashed potatoes. This was my second time here for brunch and had a great experience. Starting with a table by the lake for constant views and then our amazing waitress Amanda, who was funny and hospitable. We live in LP and have been to Canvas many times. We've had some great experiences here, but also a few that were just okay. Today was disappointing enough to write a review. We arrived on Monday (Presidents' Day) at 2:45pm after flying all day. The restaurant was not busy at all. The hostess asked if we wanted brunch or dinner and explained that brunch ended at 3pm and dinner would begin after that. We asked for the dinner menu but were told we couldn't be seated until 3. We then asked if we could at least be seated, order drinks, and wait until 3 to order food. The answer was no. That felt like an unnecessary and silly rule, especially given how empty the restaurant was and the fact that it was a holiday. Rather than wait 15 minutes standing there, we chose to go to another restaurant. Disappointing experience overall. read more

I have been to this restaurant a few tikes over the course of years and I have NEVER been disappointed. The menu has changed a few times which is why I do find myself going back. I love when restaurants have a seasonal menu or rotating menu. We went for lunch today and just wanted a nice water view, so Canvas was the obvious choice. I wasnt thrilled with how long it took to get the food, BUT the quality was amazing. There was only 1 waitress so we granted her grace. She was pleasant and helpful. We ordered the blacked mahi tacos with a nice side salad. The chipotle mayo was such a welcomed addition, the tequila shrimp was a bit spicy but absolutely delicious. My sister also got a side ceasar salad. The ceasar was perfectly dressed, not too heavy and a side of fries, standard nothing to write home about, but good nonetheless. The hubs and I visited this place for an early breakfast date. Here are the things we loved! The view-for a minute we felt we were on a cruise. The espresso- perfect crema and bold flavor. The decor-very artsy and zen. Things that need to improve. The service- although our server was friendly, after we received our food she ghosted us. I had to walk up to the kitchen door to ask someone for condiments and ask if our first order was ever going to come out. Found out it was never put in. Even after all this " commotion " we did enjoy our food which was a simple breakfast plate consisting of scrambled eggs, very spicy sausage and potatoes. Someone from our party had a service animal and without confirming with our party, they walked us to an outdoor table. They thankfully rectified that situation and once inside, everyone was fine and our waiter, Carl, couldn't have been more outstanding. He clocked everything from the moment we sat down to the moment we left--if it wasn't for Carl, I can't say I would recommend this place at all. Once we ordered the food took ages. Without exaggeration, over 30 minutes. I'm usually pretty gracious, but once the food arrived it looked straight out of a leftover buffet. Overcooked potatoes, dry cold eggs--we had to send it back. The service and the ambiance carried my experience here. The food was very subpar, if that. I ordered the mahi special which was served with cilantro lime rice and a mango salsa. The rice wasn't very cilantro lime tasting and kind of dry so i added some of their regular salsa, which made the meal edible. They won't tell you their drink menu is pre batched, so i had to send my first drink back because it just didn't have that freshness and was too syrupy. Replaced with a to order made espresso martini sub tequila, which Ryan made perfectly. My other server was Malik and he was so attentive and can tell he's very well respected and enjoyed by regulars here, which as a guest is nice to see that people frequent. read more

Canvas Restaurant & Market is always a nice little getaway spot in Lake Nona with a lake view. The restaurant blends industrial, modern, and farmhouse themes nicely. It offers ample indoor and outdoor seating and even has this beautiful stained-glass space (outside of the restaurant) that offers unique and cool photographic opportunities. You can simply opt to shop in their market portion of the store - where they offer some great local wines - or you can dine in. I usually dine in and opt for outdoor seating as the water view is calming. Service is pretty prompt - especially when it's not during their rush hour. The staff is also super nice. I've experienced brunch, lunch and dinner at this restaurant and overall, it is a decent place to grab a bite. Now their menu has changed since my first few years visiting this restaurant, but overall, as I've noted, it is decent. There's something on the menu just about everyone. On my most recent visit, I had their shrimp ceviche - which was okay at best. (Sadly, it doesn't compare to a few other restaurants in Orlando that really have sensational ceviche options.) However, it did what I needed it to do to satisfy my craving for some ceviche. For a moment of improvement, it needs more flavors infused, more cilantro, more lime, and maybe even a little spice to give it a small kick. The chips that accompanied it were stale - so that was a bummer. I paired everything with a glass of rose and then followed it with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Now, the wine was delightful. I even sampled a couple of their beers, and their seasonal Hazy beer is truly tasty. It's light with some fruity undertones but it's great for these warm Florida days. Price points are average for the Lake Nona area, so just keep that in mind. There's ample parking space and it's not too far from Boxi Park. So, if you'd like to continue your day, you can just take the quick drive down to Boxi Park and enjoy what they have to offer or venture down a bit further to The Wave Hotel and enjoy all they offer. Nonetheless, it's much to do once you finish eating or enjoying the market at Canvas. Worth a visit if you have never been. read more

My husband and I recently went to Canvas for brunch as they rolled out a new brunch menu! The cocktails were phenomenal! We both ordered the corned beef hash and I just say it wasn't the best HOWEVER I give grace because it was the day one roll out of a new menu and when I expressed I wasn't a fan both the server and the manager did everything they could to rectify it (my husband had ordered a side of pancakes and I had just eaten those!) we sat on the back outdoor area and the ambiance was amazing also great for any event you might want to host! We tried Canva for the first time as a celebratory dinner and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere is so cool with amazing views of the lake. I had a spicy mango margarita which was tasty. We ordered the seasoned ricotta spread and it was phenomenal. I would come back again for this alone. My husband ordered the shrimp tacos which were served with chips and salsa and I ordered the tuna poke bowl. Both were great and portions are generous. This is such a perfect spot for celebrations with a good mix of indoor and outdoor seating. We opted to sit outside because the views were so great.
