The food and ambiance at Helena were great, but unfortunately the service was probably some of the slowest I've ever experienced. We had an 8:30 reservation and were initially seated outside. We quickly asked if we could move inside and were told they could accommodate us. We completely understood that we might need to wait for an inside table, but we sat outside for about 30 minutes without anyone even acknowledging us. Multiple staff members walked by our table without checking in. Once we were moved inside, the hostess took our drink order, but it was another 15 minutes before we actually received anything. Our server was very nice when he was at our table, but the overall speed and lack of attention were awful. I personally enjoyed my food, although not everyone at our table was as impressed. We were also there for Magical Dining, so the price we paid felt reasonable. However, had we paid the regular advertised menu prices and received this level of service, I would have been livid. From a business perspective, it was also surprising because they probably could have turned our table 3 or 4 times in the amount of time it took to serve us. Quicker service also likely would have resulted in us ordering more drinks. Instead, we spent a huge portion of the evening just waiting. If the extremely leisurely pace is intentionally part of the experience, that probably needs to be communicated. We were tired and hoping for a relatively quick dinner, and this was anything but. Overall, the atmosphere was great and I enjoyed my meal, but the service seriously took away from the experience. You can find fairies at other places than Disney! Who knew?! We had reservations, so were seated immediately once our entire party arrived. The waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and answered every question we had. Most of us opted for the unlined mimosas. If the whole table orders, they'll bring a whole bottle to the table. If not, you have to go to the mimosa bar for refills. Sporadically, bring out beach balls, which everyone hit back and forth, while the lively music pumped through the restaurant. Be careful though..don't let it hit your glass, it could break. We had one glass casualty. I don't know if the music was steamed in or if there was a DJ. Whatever it was, the tunes were grooving. We ordered food, which didn't take long to come out at all. I had the chicken and French toast, which I devoured. Everyone in my party enjoyed their food. They had a dj playing music which helped with the lively environment. They had a shot girl walking around giving out free shots. Our server was Pablo and he was fantastic. I loved everything about him. His customer service was amazing, he was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave good recommendations. However, i went with my own recommendation for the entree. I tried my friends pizza and i don't have any complaints about the taste. The pizza does not come sliced already, so they give a pair of scissors to cut your own slices. I had the steak and eggs and ordered my eggs and steak well done. The steak came out undercooked. I had them fix it to my desired temp and they did, however, it was too chewy and i couldn't swallow it. My recommendation is to order a cook less than well done to enjoy this cut of meat. If you like well done, i do not suggest this order. Overall, i think this a place that has a great atmosphere with an extensive alcohol/drink menu. I really enjoyed the flan and the gnocchi. The service was really slow. We thought we had been forgotten for a while. It was a Friday night and I wonder if they were just short staffed that evening. Helena Modern Riviera in Orlando is definitely one of the prettier brunch spots I've been to. The atmosphere is beautiful, the aesthetic is on point, and it's a fun place to grab brunch with friends. Unfortunately, the food just didn't live up to the vibe. The standout for me was definitely the waffles with Nutella, syrup, and compote--they were absolutely delicious and easily the best part of the meal. I also ordered the short rib with eggs, but I was pretty disappointed. The short rib was dry, and although I ordered my eggs over easy, they came out over hard. The drinks were strong, which I appreciated, but after hearing so much about the brunch, I honestly expected a little more. There was a fun moment where they handed out beach balls and glasses during brunch, but it only lasted about 10 minutes. I came here to celebrate a friend's birthday, and from the moment we arrived, I was impressed. This place is absolutely gorgeous. It's interesting because although the cuisine is primarily Middle Eastern, you wouldn't necessarily know it from the décor. It's a small detail, but it's something management should pay closer attention to. On such a beautiful Florida evening, many guests would probably enjoy relaxing outside if the area were better maintained. Once our entire party arrived, we were escorted to our table. Our server, Fabiana D., was fantastic from beginning to end. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything ran smoothly throughout the evening. The menu offered so many tempting choices that it took us quite a while to decide. After reading a mix of online reviews, we weren't sure what to expect. We had hoped there would be a surf and turf option, but the kitchen was very accommodating by allowing add ons to create exactly what we wanted. I ordered the lamb chops with aligot and broccolini, along with the shrimp served with garlic bread. While the lamb chops were delicious, the shrimp stole the show. They were flavorful, perfectly cooked, and easily my favorite dish of the night. One of my friends ordered the lobster pizza, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to expectations. After just one slice, she had to send it back because both the pizza and the lobster were very dry. Thankfully, the staff handled the situation well, and she was able to order something else. The evening was made even more enjoyable by the live entertainment. A belly dancer performed throughout the restaurant, interacting with each table and creating a fun, lively atmosphere. And don't forget your camera! This restaurant is incredibly photogenic, making it the perfect place for pictures. Located right in the heart of Icon Park, it's a beautiful spot for a special occasion or a night out. If you're driving, be sure to ask about the complimentary parking. For my entrée, I ordered the Dijonnaise Chicken, which unfortunately was very bland. The hostess told me that they actually change the hanging decor for the different seasons. So for instance, right now it's spring so there's flowers and plants everywhere. This was my second time visiting Helena Riviera on I-Drive for brunch and both visits have left me with the same takeaway. The space is absolutely gorgeous and the music is always good. Every time I come there is something different going on which makes for a genuinely fun environment. That said, the food and service do not match the price point. Gratuity is automatically included which removes the ability to tip based on the actual experience, and that experience has not been worth it for what you pay. I ordered the Branzino which was listed as tableside and priced over $40. It should not be marketed as tableside when all that happens is the fish gets brought to your table and oil is poured over it before they walk away. It was also the smallest Bronzino I have ever been served at a restaurant, plated with just asparagus on the side. For that price and for something advertised as a tableside experience, the presentation and portion should be far more elevated. My fiancé ordered the steak and eggs which was decent but nothing memorable. The brunch board was actually pretty cute and decent though and the pizza was good! It's just not a place to order their fancier more expensive dishes. I probably won't be coming back to necessarily eat... But I would absolutely come back to hang out with the girls and sip on champagne. The vibe, music and atmosphere make it a great spot for that. read more

WOW! One of the best dining out experiences I've had in a long time. The arancini was yummy and we loved the house aioli (I hate mushrooms but got talked into trying these and they were still so yummy!) The potato appetizer bites were my favorite, so cheesy and perfect dipped in the marinara. I got the Pistachio Pesto Gnocchi for an entree and it was the perfect portion, perfect blend of creaminess without being too rich. I tried my friend's broccoli Rabe and it was so giant, tender, and delicious dipped in the pesto sauce - wish the gnocchi dish came with some! This was one of the BEST lavender cocktails I've had, and I've been trying a lot lately. The Italian Daydream truly is a *dream* and came with a pretty lavender sprig the 2nd time I ordered it. It has a frothy top layer and is slightly sweet without being too cloying, a little fruity, a little herbal, but truly an even blend of all components. I tried my friend's Lemon Drop cocktail and the sugar rim was a nice touch, it was an amazing creamy sweet mixture but again not over the top. Our server was so friendly and recommended a great "mystery app" for my table when we couldn't decide. We did have to ask a few times for water refills, but it was a busy gorgeous night. We enjoyed the outer patio area, and it wasn't too cold or too loud. The occasional pass by of the little train was a whimsical touch, and the decor was modern and trendy (the car is a great photo op on the way in!) I truly loved everything I tried, and I haven't said that about many places in a while. It's a small but mighty menu, and even this picky vegetarian was able to find lots to love and enjoy. How in the F do you ruin a Pretzel? If you want to find out, head down to iDrive and then to Helena Modern Riviera. This restaurant is a beautifully decorated space but with little substance beyond the delicious cocktails. The espresso martini was excellent and it came with a Lady Finger so I ordered 5 so I could make a hand! Sadly, it was the pastry version. I also had the Bee's Knees which was well crafted and one of the best versions of this cocktail. Similarly, the Havana (a cigar smoked old fashioned) was delicious and smoked table side. The cocktails were all 5 stars for sure... Foodwise, this wasn't great. First, the giant pretzel... OMG it was the absolute worst. It wasn't warm, didn't have any salt. They must be saving all the salt for the brutal Swedish winter. And the fondue was totally NOT dippable... it was basically a clump of cheese in what I would describe as a warmed up version of that water that Burrata from the ol' Publix grocer comes from. So terrible. The pistachio pesto gnocchi was properly named as it was loaded with pistachios. That probably explains the price as pistachios are like the tarnished platinum in the nut world. (and probably explains why Dubai chocolate is priced out of this world). But it lacked real flavor and was just mediocre. The garlic bread was outstanding though, so that's a plus! Service started out great but as the night went on, our waitress visited us less and less. Cocktails started taking longer and longer, water refills were non existent, and when it came time to take care of the finances, she was nowhere to be found. The biggest highlight was the belly dancer, Vanja. I am pretty sure there is only a belly dancer on Saturday evenings starting around 8:30 or so. Don't quote me on that though. She was talented and worth the trip. If you're a fan of 90 Day Fiancé, you may recognize her (as well some others from the show that happened to be dining there that night). They also had "Member" pricing on the menu which was odd. I didn't inquire about a membership here, nor would I want one. But if you come here a lot, it may be worth looking in to. I celebrated one of my best friends birthday and we chose Helena to host the dinner. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful! I really love that there's themes, at the time it was "The Phantom of the Opera" & it was so classy. We had a huge party and all showed up late to the reservation, (sorry!) They catered to us anyway and provided excellent service. I ordered the Creme Brûlée martini and it was delicious! I would say order it as a dessert instead but it's super nice as a starter drink if you enjoy sweets. I proceeded to eat the Truffle Fries and Caviar, which was so so so so good!!!!! It felt as if she was upselling by saying the plates were small. The plates were large in size, so we had leftovers. Nonetheless, all the various food options we had, were very tasteful. This is a great place to celebrate! We came here for brunch on our bachelorette trip. We saw so many festivities being celebrated. Most were birthday celebrations. Although we could not reserve a table for 7 people online at the time we wanted, we reserved for a party of 4 and a party of 3. So I think there is a bit too much hype around Helena Modern Riviera, though the atmosphere was really nice great theming for Valentine's Day. The overall experience was just mediocre at best. We got a ton of apps for the table but only a few items were gluten free. The server was not very knowledgeable when it came to gluten allergy's and I believe was mixed up with veganism. The wine was fine and on pair with the price of other restaurants on I drive. My meal and a few other members of my parties meals came out wrong and way over cooked and over salted. The flavor reminded us of wedding catering. It did take a very long time to revive drinks as well. Overall I'd give it a 2.5-3 out of 5. Though this a beautiful restaurant with a nice atmosphere, I'm hesitant if I should return. Service is a bit slow, food came out slow and cold. I did enjoy the atmosphere of the restaurant and being present with my friends, but after a while we would wonder where our drinks and food were. The server was absolutely kind, friendly and trying their best. I'm upset that my food was cold but since it took so long to come out I didn't want to have it remade. I think dining on a less crowded and busy day would result in better food quality and service. Presentation of food and drinks are gorgeous and tasty (would be better if warm) . Hopefully things get better by my next visit. read more

Love!! This place has the cutest decor. It changes seasonally. The food was absolutely delicious. The seasonal menu was focusing on pizzas. All dough is imported from Italy, which means no fake ingredients, no fake folic acid and it tastes amazing. Christina was our server and she was perfection. Very attentive, not rushed, great personality. Because if her alone we would come back again. This place goes into our rotation now! read more
