Tried something new while in the area and searched for Thai food and Coco Thai popped up. We ordered Thai ice tea, can't go wrong with this, it's always delicious and refreshing. We started with the shrimp rolls, can't go wrong with these as a starter, only thing I wish the sauce was the peanut sauce for a creamy texture. Usual Thai restaurants spice levels are pretty spicy however their spice level wasn't based on Thai spicy levels. We got the chicken as spicy hot and it felt more mild/medium (forgot to take a pic). The carb fried rice was delicious, lots of chunks of card however we ordered medium spicy and it felt mild to us. We also ordered the chicken pad see ew, spice level mild, it was very favorable. We love Thai food and always look for it while on vacation. We found this spot, and had a great dinner here. The vibe is really nice, and they have some unique drinks. I like that they have some draft beers. We were nervous at first because we had a large and complex order, and the server did not write anything down. However, everything came out perfect. The inside of the restaurant was beautifully decorated and was very clean. Seating was comfortable and tables were not too close together. Items ordered: Wonton soup x2 - Wontons with spinach and broth were good. Curry puff - As a curry fan, these small curry puffs reminded me of curry flavored empanadas. We opted to go to Coco Thai cuisine after reading excellent reviews on YELP. Upon arriving, we were the only people in the restaurant. We chose our seat and immediately ordered curry puffs because they were highly rated in many of the reviews. Spoiler, they were amazing! I ended up getting green curry and it was so delicious. It doesn't look like a lot, but it is so filling and I was able to take some to go. The menu was sizable and has something for everyone. The decor is lovely and inviting. Our server was friendly and prompt. I highly recommend this restaurant! I would definitely go back if we were in Orlando again. read more

Visiting the area, so once again I found myself looking through Yelp reviews... and unfortunately, another disappointing adventure. Since I ordered takeout, I can't really comment on the restaurant's ambiance, vibe, or service, but I can definitely comment on the food. Food: Pad Thai -- A great portion, very tasty, and delicious. This was definitely the highlight of the meal. Pad See Ew -- Again, a generous portion, but unfortunately, it was extremely bland. Literally, there was nothing particularly Thai about it. No spices, no distinctive flavor, and no depth at all. It was basically very plain white noodles with chicken and green broccoli. Such a disappointment. Egg Roll -- It was alright, but again, nothing special or memorable. Overall, I'm very sad because there are so many good reviews for this place, and unfortunately, my experience was quite the opposite. I had lunch here last week. This restaurant is family owned and operated. The service was fast. All of us in our group were vegetarians and there were so many vegetarian plant based options here. Stopped in here on my journey to find the best Thai in Orlando and unfortunately it wasn't a favorite. The reviews looked good so I had high expectations, but maybe it's because it's on I-Drive and there aren't a lot of good options in that area. The service was a little awkward, seemed like some of the staff have little experience and not much training. But the worst thing for me was that the food was unremarkable and overpriced. The egg rolls were just okay. The Garlic Tofu was a very small portion and the plate was filled out with a flavorless salad, no dressing. The entrée had very little flavor and was overall disappointing, and to top it off it was $21--far, far more than other local Thai spots who offer more flavor and more generous portions. When there are so many amazing Thai restaurants in Orlando, I unfortunately won't be returning to this one. read more

I'm so excited to have found this hidden gem on iDrive. We visited on a Monday evening and were seated right away. The inside is very cute and clean. There is a full bar, and some great authentic Thai beer selections. Our server was Liz, and she was amazing! So helpful, sweet and efficient. We started with the Tom Yum Kung soup, and subbed the shrimp for chicken. There was so much chicken, and the soup came out in a cool bowl with a flame that kept it piping hot. It was flavorful and hearty. The beef larb was also excellent. The chef is from Chang Mai, and the Khao Soi is the closest I have found to the Khao Soi I had in Thailand. It even came with pickled veggies on the side. A standout star was the Neua Lung Rack, super tender beef/steak chunks that were marinated in a sweet and umami sauce and served with rice and fries. Similar to a Peruvian Lomo Saltado, this dish is not to be missed. Everything we ate was amazing, and I cannot wait to go back to try more stuff. So coming to Orlando and seeing a Thai restaurant, I have high expectations. Normally a lot of Thai restaurants serve Tom Yum soup with shrimps but my husband and I usually like to swap it out with chicken because we are not huge seafood fans. Coco Thai Cuisince, located on the bustling International Drive was very accommodating. We had just landed for vacation nearby and their morning opening was perfect for our lunch stay. We ordered the Tom Yum and the chicken skewers. The Tom Yum soup was very flavorful and so are the skewers, very coconut-y. We enjoyed both dishes. The atmosphere/the restaurant is huge with loads of window sunlights. The service was great. Overall a pretty good Thai food option in the area! read more

Cute spot hidden in a plaza. I think it'd look really pretty at night. I had the Massaman curry with chicken and it wasn't like any I'd ever had. It was sweet, which totally threw me off. I couldn't eat it. Thought I'd try desert. We got fried ice cream. It was mochi I guess grape ice cream bc I think it was purple. I also didn't care for that. It seemed pan fried, not deep fried so the crust was soft, not crunchy. It just didn't seem to pair well with mochi. Every fried ice cream I've had has been vanilla. I also didn't eat this. Coco Thai truly delivers when it comes to authentic Thai flavors and quality execution. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the experience overall was very enjoyable. We started with the Golden Dusk cocktail, which was mixed beautifully--just the right balance of sour, subtle sweetness, and a solid pour. Very smooth and well thought out. For food, the red curry roasted duck was excellent and authentic. As someone familiar with Thai cuisine, I have high expectations for this signature dish, and Coco Thai absolutely met them. I especially appreciated that the duck was roasted instead of fried--it made the dish feel more refined and allowed the flavors to shine. The basil striped bass was also fantastic--fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Our third dish, vegetable delight with chicken, was very tasty and comforting, though it was slightly on the salty side. The staff were kind, courteous, and welcoming. A few small things could be improved: our water came without ice (which I understand culturally, but in Orlando heat, ice would be nice), we had to ask for water refills, and we only received one napkin each. Again, these are cultural differences rather than negatives. Despite these minor points, I'm giving five stars because the food truly stands out--great taste, quality ingredients, generous portions, and strong authenticity. Was in town and wanted to try Orlando's Thai food in hopes this spot was going to leave the big impression, but I was let down. Both nam tok and yum neua had the same "dressing" that is not the typical -probably used vinegar rather than fish sauce --gave it a clear color rather than brown so both salads tasted really off. I ordered online for pick up and it got a little awkward because I saw I was the only one who ordered togo, but the waitress/cashier made me walk towards the back of the restaurant to the bar and kept trying to get me to pull up the name on the order when the email confirmation only showed the order number. I felt as if I was being accused of trying to take someone else's pickup order. Overall everything just seemed a little off with this place. We've been here a few times, and the food has generally been pretty good. I do think dining in is a better experience than takeout, but that's true for most places. I wasn't a big fan of the summer roll, which is something I usually enjoy. The vegetable mix was a bit overpowering, to the point where it almost felt like the shrimp disappeared. That said, the rest of the meal was great. The steak fried rice was enjoyed by everyone, my husband had the red curry which he absolutely devoured, and I had the yellow curry, which I enjoyed and he later finished at home. I'm not a big eater, but I do like spice. I ordered mine mild, and it still had a noticeable kick. I personally liked it, but if you're expecting little to no spice, you may want to ask for no spice and adjust it yourself. Came here on a rainy day that was close to our "Surf-Side" Hotel. Didn't think anything of it but was surprise this was one of the better choices we had compare to our other food ventures around. The Kao Khao Soy is always a must for me when I hit up any Thai spots. It is my essential! Was a bit disappointed that they didn't have it with the chicken leg! but the beef was equally as pleasant and the broth definitely hits thes pot on a chilly day. The Thai Iced Tea was good in this cute tiki like cup. Not overly sweet but has that hint of bitterness to it and finishes off with the sweetness of the syrup. Coco Thai Cuisine is located in a small plaza with other restaurants, which can make it kind of hard to find. The interior is decorated elegantly. There is a lot of natural lighting inside as well as plenty of different sized tables for any party size. My friends and I arrived right when it opened so the service was pretty quick. I ordered the Chicken Satay and Chicken Pad Kee Mow which both come in large portions. The Chicken Satay came with a side of cucumbers and other vegetables as well as peanut sauce. I thought that the chicken was good, but it could have been marinated a bit more in terms of getting the flavor inside the meat. I got my Chicken Pad Kee Mow with medium spice level, but I did not think it was that spicy initially so I sprinkled a spoonful of some chili powder into my dish (which made it too spicy). Only came to this recommendation based off a recommendation from a friend. When we walked it and looked at the restaurant we really enjoyed the ambience. It was clean and pretty. Brought very comfortable vibes. When we sat down we asked to be seated in a different location just for personal preference and they were quick to accommodate the request. Our server was very friendly. We ordered vegan meals but got an appetizer that typically comes with shrimp and she asked if we prefer to substitute the shrimp for tofu but we declined. I was impressed with her awareness. The food was AMAZING!!! Full of flavor, came out hot and fresh. Was very filling but light on the stomach. Bathrooms were very clean. Regardless of how many tables of customers inside. The reason for 4 stars is because our glasses where empty from our beverages for a little bit. This is a MUST stop on International Drive when in the Universal area of Orlando. My husband and I found this little place after a long day at the park. Our meal was as follows: We ordered ice cold Sprite, although they do have a full bar. And an appetizer of Curry Puffs. These puffs were hand made, light and fluffy. The filling was a combination of ground chicken, sweet potato, curry, and cilantro. They were served with a sweet sauce on the side but personally, they did not need anything as they were juicy and full of flavor on their own. For entrees we ordered the Pad Prik and Fried Rice with chicken. Taste explosion with every bite! The Pad Prik was saucy and the beef was tender all while the bell peppers were completely cooked without being mushy! And that Prik King curry sauce... WOW! Shredded raw cabbage was on the side of the plate and we ate that with the side of steamed white rice that we pressed into the leftover sauce to soak up and eat!! So good! The Fried Rice with little bits of green onion, carrots and peas and fluffy fried egg was flavorful without being overwhelmed with soy sauce. The chicken bits were tender and seasoned nice and mixed well with the rice. There was also a nice thick cucumber and tomato slice on the plate and each piece was crisp, fresh and pallet cleansing. Our server, Han, was very attentive and sweet. She shared that the restaurant has been in this location for about 10 years and the chefs are on point. You can't miss this place, it sits in a strip mall right off International Drive (look for the Twistee Treat & Waffle House) Inside is decorated sleek and clean with bright openness and lots of light. Sensational! Our first praise goes to our outstanding waiter Anh. She took the time to make recommendations, explain the levels of spice, how coconut milk was utilized in the menu, and Vegan options. All of her recommendations were exceptional. We started with the Curry puffs that was surprising delight and not overwhelming curry. Then for main course we had to plates of Pad See Eu on with chicken and one with Shrimp. Dessert we had the sweet mango rice which was another nice surprise. Coco Thai is a hidden gem in the middle of the busy tourist section of I-Drive. It's quite large and cant get busy pretty quickly during the dinner hours, I've never seen there be a wait, but the kitchen can get backed up, so the food might take longer than normal, but nothing terribly problematic. There weren't tons of staff members working the night we went, but our server was hustling around and made it work. Hopefully that was just a random occurrence for the evening. I've had different noodle dishes each time I've gone and have never been disappointed. Although, everything I've gotten (or tasted) has also been good. Service by Liss was perfect. She suggested the Yum Pad salad and it was delicious. The dressing on that salad is amazing. Acidic, fresh, spicy, sweet and everything you want in a dressing. We got the Thai basil spring rolls to start and I highly recommend those. The tamarind sauce it comes with delicious. Very light and very flavorful. I got the pad se eu and those noodles are awesome. So good. They do have a heat level you can customize how hot you want your dish. I like spicy food so I got a four on spice, and four is pretty spicy. Not super spicy you can't taste the food, but spicy enough it does leave a kick after you eat. Thanks for the great service and the awesome food. I think this might be the best Thai food in Orlando. I've been coming here for years with my family on our annual trips to Orlando. I came here for dinner with my husband and it was amazing. Service was friendly as always but incredibly quick. We got our meal within 10 minutes of placing our order. We got the vegan soup and the pad kee mao to split. Soups are huge! Coco Thai is located on I-Drive just down the street from Universal's newest hotels so it's a good spot for vacationers to get some Thai food nearby (within walking distance if you're into that). The food is decent and serves large portions, although it seems a bit overpriced. The service was very quick and attentive, albeit a little awkward but that's not a big deal for me.
