The environment is very nice, staff friendly. The ramen was flavorful but disappointing, with half egg (just cooked, not marinated) and a small piece of pork. Rolls were good. An ok experience. We went back there today (01/29/2026) after a few ads on Instagram, and I did not seen my last review. Well, we ordered 3 rolls, each one $25, New York roll with lobster, real lobster and volcano. We got very disappointed and we felt like spending a lot of money in something that did not worth!!

So this has to be my favorite hidden gem in all of Orlando; it was originally called Amara- this lovely restaurant is located off of Sand Lake; right next to the cigar bar and 60 vines. It is in the same location as the Rocco's tacos and the steakhouse. For dinner this evening I had the cocktail with Prosecco, the beef bulgolgi dish, a side of rice that it comes with, and a side of kimchi. Our server was patient, kind, and attentive. She was always asking if we needed anything else or if we needed help ordering off of the menu this restaurant is intimate yet perfect for a girls night out!! My friend got the sushi platter the chef selection. I believe it was $60. He also had a beer. If you haven't been here, I definitely recommend it; it is the perfect restaurant for lunch or for a date night out. I will definitely be back soon. The beef dish was my absolute favorite. 10/10

Yet another amazing visit to Akasaka sushi for date night. The service was super friendly and the food was all delicious. I absolutely loved the super volcano roll, they even torch it at the table. I would definitely get this again. My husband is obsessed with the teriyaki chicken and already wants to plan our next trip back.

We had a reservation for a Friday night but it wasn't super busy. We started with the calamari and it was really good and came with a sweet chili dipping sauce. Then we both got the Flaming K rolls which you can see by the photos comes out on fire! This was a really unique and hearty roll (nice pieces of salmon on it!). Service was good and it was a nice date night spot.

We are well on our way of eating our way through Orlando when this beautiful place popped up! I love a good sushi joint and this one was so good that I'll have to make a trip back just to visit! The service was fast, food was amazing, and the inside was spacious. My family and I had the volcano roll, which is brought out with a blow torch and flamed at your table! 10/10 would get that again! We also got the bulgogi, fiery spicy garlic chicken, and the Akasaka fried rice! Everything was so flavorful and I would 100% order the same things again!!

A friend and I went to Akasaka sushi for lunch. It had great service and the restaurant is very pretty. We both ordered the sushi combo which cost $34 that to me is a lot of money for lunch, but there was a lot of sushi and two rolls so I was able to take some home and eat it for lunch the next day.

We're visiting from New York for a weekend at Disney and stumbled into Akasaka Sushi for a late-night dinner, and WOW, what a happy accident! My husband and I each started with a kani salad, fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced on a little bed of kale and rice noodles!! It was the kind of appetizer that makes you go, "Oh... this is gonna be good." And good it WAS. We split five rolls (because moderation doesn't exist to us lol): the Hawaiian, Soho, Mango Tango, Super Protein, and the dramatic, show-stopping Volcano Roll. They actually blow torched it at the table, and my inner foodie did a little happy dance! (We are not cream cheese and sushi people, so we ordered the rolls without cream cheese.) The MVP of the night was the Akasaka rice with shrimp. Warm, savory, slightly crispy magic. I actually got upset with my husband for eating too much of it lol. Price check: Our total came to about $165 without any drinks. Definitely on the pricey side, but honestly, worth every bite! Service was very friendly, the vibe was relaxed, and every single roll was fresh and delicious. This place isn't just a great late-night sushi spot. It's a must stop if you're in Orlando. We'll 100% be back to try some more of the non-sushi food because it all looked and smelled amazing!

First off look at this beautiful sushi boat, along with its looks it was honestly tied for best tasting sushi with my favorite spot. I eat sushi a lot and that's hard to do. So good job to them. I'll be honest though it's on the more expensive side but what else would you expect in Orlando. Parking was easy and the scenery was beautiful. Really cool bathrooms as well lol.

Lychee martini - different from others I've had before. Not a fan.

I was in town for a convention and brought my family along. They wanted Asian food, so we decided on Akasaka Sushi since it was close to our resort. The restaurant is tucked in a shopping strip, and the unique exterior decor gave us a glimpse of the fun inside. The hostess was incredibly sweet, and the wait staff was patient and attentive. All of our food came out in good time. The cowboy steak took a bit longer, but that was to be expected. One of my boys ordered the salmon set, and I was pleasantly surprised at the freshness of the fish. My other son had the cowboy steak, ordered medium rare. Unfortunately, it came pre-cut and closer to well-done. They did a little tableside char show, which added flavor and fun, but it also cooked the steak even more. On the plus side, the vegetables served with it were outstanding. Not just plain boiled veggies though they may look it. Another worth mentioning was the Super Volcano Roll, which came with a smoky, fiery tableside presentation that the kids loved. Overall, everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and served at the right temp. Staff was amazing. We left happy and glad we stopped by!

I came here with a friend for dinner. I like the aesthetic of the restaurant. The staff here are very attentive and helpful with explaining the menu. My friend got the Chicken Teriyaki and said it was really good. I got the Salmon Roll which was good. I also got the Volcano Roll, this roll was okay. It was presented nicely but it had a bit too much going on and it was still a bit dry. I wouldn't recommend it. I do want to come back here and try some of their other menu items.

Akasaka Sushi in Orlando has amazing decor and great food. If you're looking for fresh, creative sushi place, this is the spot. We ordered a variety of rolls and each one delivered in both flavor and presentation: Super Volcano Roll - A true show! Stacked high with spicy crab, creamy sauce, and topped with a mountain of flavor. The textures were perfect, with creamy avocado and a crispy edge to balance it all out. It's rich but not overwhelming. Salmon Joe - For for salmon lovers. Wrapped in fresh salmon and topped with spicy salmon, tobiko, and microgreens. Nekomata - A solid roll with crispy toppings and a creamy drizzle, satisfying and balanced. Great crunch and sauce combo without being too heavy. Irenko - This was our favorite for both taste and uniqueness. The long presentation was stunning, and the flavor was a perfect blend of spicy, savory, and umami. Every bite had a satisfying pop of texture. Ambiance & Service - Clean, modern, and comfortable with attentive service. Our food came out beautifully plated and timely.

The beef ribs were mostly fat and still very tough to chew. The chicken was woody breast, making it dry and very difficult to eat. The rice was even worse. They replaced it three times. The first two batches were hard, and the third batch was actually undercooked. The service was by far the biggest disappointment. Even though ordering is done on an iPad, they still kept forgetting items. We had to remind the staff multiple times before the food finally arrived. Every dish took 10-15 minutes or longer to arrive, yet customers are expected to finish their meal within a 90-minute time limit. This is a Japanese BBQ restaurant where the staff is simply bringing out raw meat for customers to grill at the table. There is really no reason it should take 10-15 minutes to deliver each order. To make it even more frustrating, the restaurant wasn't even busy. During our entire meal, there were only two or three other tables occupied, so it's hard to understand why the service was so slow and disorganized. To make matters worse, an 18% service charge was automatically added to the bill. I don't mind paying a service charge for good service, but charging that much when the service is this slow and disappointing feels completely unjustified. Our bill was over $210 for three people, and that didn't even include any drinks. At that price, there are many better Japanese BBQ options available. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back, and I can't recommend this place.

My Overall Rating - 2 Stars (Atmosphere, Food) Atmosphere - Seito Sushi Sand Lake is a beautiful restaurant. My first impression was great, as the modern décor and dark lighting gave it a very nice date night feeling. There is a long sushi bar with chill lighting and sushi chefs. There are square booths perfect for groups. And large, round orbital lights hang from the ceiling. This is a cool place. 1 Star. Service - While my first impression started great, it changed when I asked out server what I should order (I'm here as a tourist). He said their traditional items were great, and when I asked what they had that was traditional, he said the California roll. Uhh.... No Stars. Food - The sushi is very good, but you're in a resort area so it's very expensive. Dishes that were great and memorable: Beef carpaccio - the soft, tender beef was the highlight, but the real gem of this dish was the fried wonton chip that added great crunch and a little salt. The scallion tuna nigiri from the tuna tower (order this for your IG feed). And finally, the Hamachi crudo was a texture playground (Soft, crunchy, tangy, salty). My only other reservation was that it was very expensive. Then again, you get what you pay for. 1 Star. Will I Return? - No. I'm sorry, I can't return to a restaurant when my server's idea of traditional sushi is a California roll. Honestly, Seito Sushi is a very cool restaurant with a great menu. Just remember you're in a resort area so it can get pricey. No Stars.

I've followed Chef Sean "Sonny" Nguyen from the beginning, and I honestly believe they serve some of the best ramen in Florida. I've recommended DOMU to countless friends over the years. Unfortunately, this isn't a review about the food. It's about how customers are treated. This past Friday, my wife, my two daughters, and I drove almost an hour to Dr. Phillips. We arrived at exactly 9:32 PM, almost 90 minutes before the posted 11:00 PM closing time, only to be greeted with a sign saying they were no longer accepting tables due to an extended waitlist. This wasn't the first time. It wasn't even the second or third. This is now the 4th or 5th time we've driven all the way there only to be turned away. What makes it even more frustrating is that the restaurant didn't appear to be overflowing with people. There were multiple empty tables visible inside, yet we were told they couldn't seat anyone else. At some point, this stops being bad luck and becomes a management problem. If demand is consistently exceeding capacity, then implement a reservation system or another predictable process. Customers shouldn't have to gamble on driving an hour with their family only to be told they can't eat. To be honest, it almost feels like maintaining an artificially long waitlist has become part of the restaurant's image. Whether that's true or not, that's certainly how it comes across after experiencing this repeatedly. Michelin recognition and great food can only take a restaurant so far. Hospitality is equally important, and repeatedly turning away loyal customers well before closing time is simply not acceptable. I sincerely hope Chef Sonny Nguyen sees this because I've supported DOMU for years and genuinely want them to succeed. But after being turned away for the fourth or fifth time, I can no longer recommend making a long drive unless you're willing to risk leaving hungry. Great food deserves great customer service. Right now, the customer experience isn't living up to the quality of the kitchen.
