No reservation and was seated very quickly. It was fairly quiet with a ton of people, this is how you know you're at a good comfy spot. I wouldn't say this is the best ramen I've had, but it was decent. It needed more flavor. Not saying it needed more garlic or other seasonings, but it was missing that pop. The main issue is my egg was overly cooked. I never had ramen that had a cooked egg, I'm more of a soft boil gal. Even though it states soft boil and green onions, I didn't really get any of that. Edamame with garlic was pretty good, you can't go wrong with that. The Takoyaki was disappointing, to find only 3-4 small pieces of octopus tentacles for $12.. not it. So this has to be my favorite hidden gem in all of Orlando; it was originally called Amara- this lovely restaurant is located off of Sand Lake; right next to the cigar bar and 60 vines. It is in the same location as the Rocco's tacos and the steakhouse. For dinner this evening I had the cocktail with Prosecco, the beef bulgolgi dish, a side of rice that it comes with, and a side of kimchi. Our server was patient, kind, and attentive. She was always asking if we needed anything else or if we needed help ordering off of the menu this restaurant is intimate yet perfect for a girls night out!! My friend got the sushi platter the chef selection. I believe it was $60. He also had a beer. If you haven't been here, I definitely recommend it; it is the perfect restaurant for lunch or for a date night out. I will definitely be back soon. We are well on our way of eating our way through Orlando when this beautiful place popped up! I love a good sushi joint and this one was so good that I'll have to make a trip back just to visit! We're visiting from New York for a weekend at Disney and stumbled into Akasaka Sushi for a late-night dinner, and WOW, what a happy accident! My husband and I each started with a kani salad, fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced on a little bed of kale and rice noodles!! It was the kind of appetizer that makes you go, "Oh... this is gonna be good." And good it WAS. We split five rolls (because moderation doesn't exist to us lol): the Hawaiian, Soho, Mango Tango, Super Protein, and the dramatic, show-stopping Volcano Roll. They actually blow torched it at the table, and my inner foodie did a little happy dance! (We are not cream cheese and sushi people, so we ordered the rolls without cream cheese.) The MVP of the night was the Akasaka rice with shrimp. Warm, savory, slightly crispy magic. I actually got upset with my husband for eating too much of it lol. Price check: Our total came to about $165 without any drinks. Definitely on the pricey side, but honestly, worth every bite! Service was very friendly, the vibe was relaxed, and every single roll was fresh and delicious. This place isn't just a great late-night sushi spot. It's a must stop if you're in Orlando. First off look at this beautiful sushi boat, along with its looks it was honestly tied for best tasting sushi with my favorite spot. I eat sushi a lot and that's hard to do. So good job to them. I was in town for a convention and brought my family along. They wanted Asian food, so we decided on Akasaka Sushi since it was close to our resort. The restaurant is tucked in a shopping strip, and the unique exterior decor gave us a glimpse of the fun inside. The hostess was incredibly sweet, and the wait staff was patient and attentive. All of our food came out in good time. The cowboy steak took a bit longer, but that was to be expected. One of my boys ordered the salmon set, and I was pleasantly surprised at the freshness of the fish. My other son had the cowboy steak, ordered medium rare. Unfortunately, it came pre-cut and closer to well-done. They did a little tableside char show, which added flavor and fun, but it also cooked the steak even more. On the plus side, the vegetables served with it were outstanding. Not just plain boiled veggies though they may look it. Another worth mentioning was the Super Volcano Roll, which came with a smoky, fiery tableside presentation that the kids loved. I came here with a friend for dinner. I like the aesthetic of the restaurant. The staff here are very attentive and helpful with explaining the menu. My friend got the Chicken Teriyaki and said it was really good. I got the Salmon Roll which was good. I also got the Volcano Roll, this roll was okay. A friend of mine just told me about this place, so while we were in the area having a cigar, we decided to just grab some sushi from this place. He was correct on the taste, definitely fried to perfection ( I prefer fried sushi) and tasted delicious with the toppings that they had on top. I will say the shrimp was definitely a bit on the pricier , but that's fine for the quality of the taste that we've gotten. I tried a hand roll and it was delish !! I wish I ordered more. We ordered a few things to share and we were a little dissatisfied with the curry. We thought it would be "richer" if you will. It was thin and bland... ‍ My friend ordered what I believe was a raspberry or blueberry martini, expecting some muddled fruit or fresh ingredients. When she asked about it, the waitress (who was also acting as the bartender) explained that the drink was made with syrup. My friend then asked if the syrup contained Red Dye 40, which she's allergic to, and the waitress responded with, 'What is Red Dye 40?" Since she was doubling as the bartender, she would be gone long periods of time. It didn't seem that busy to us and that's what I didn't like. I might try it again because the Yuzu marg was so damn good !!!! I loved the hand roll too! The calamari was good. The menu makes it seem like it would be something magical but it wasn't. I will say that when my Mexican Roll came out, the rest of my party had ordered a Mexican Roll that didn't have all of the toppings that mine did. So they were pretty confused but had already closed out their check so they didn't bring it up. The service was mediocre at best. Very slow service, and very much never checked in on us at all to see how we liked our food. Lastly, the exterior of the building shows "Amura" so when we were meeting up with the group, they kept mentioning they were at Amura and we were getting so confused because clearly that's not the restaurant name. We came here for a weekday lunch when a lot of restaurants were closed for a hurricane. We we're so happy to find something that was open. it's located in a strip mall type area with multiple other restaurants. The front entrance is definitely overwhelming and inside is a bit rundown. The women's bathroom was awful. One of the doors was completely broken and the other one barely shut. I was pleased with the portion of wine they served. I ordered a spicy tuna roll and my husband got the beef bulgogi. My sushi was nothing special, but the bulgogi was very good. They don't seem to have any lunch specials so I would recommend going here for dinner. We were just happy something was open since our power was out. read more

Dr. Phillips-Located in a "strip mall" of restaurants and stores, this place looks tiny and unassuming from outside. Walking in, it opens up to a huge restaurant and bar. Pretty impressive. Our waiter was very sweet but definitely not attentive at all. It took forever to get drinks and order our apps. The place was relatively empty at 5. Their menu is daunting, with tons of selections!! Very hard to choose, but we decided on the Bao buns and Coconut shrimp for our apps. VERY DELICIOUS! The Bao buns were soft, and the shrimp was crispy and flavorful. Aside from the yellow lettuce accompanying the Bao buns, they were super tasty! Coconut shrimp was a beautiful golden color with just the right amount of crunch and coconut flavor. We had a Blackberry Smash along with a Cucumber Mojito. Both very tasty as well. We both decided on a special roll. My roll, the funky monkey, was absolutely yummy! Tempura shrimp, avocado, asparagus, tataki tuna! Topped with spicy mayo and eel sauce. Who could go wrong with that? My friend had the mango tango roll. She felt that the roll did not taste fresh and the cream cheese threw it off. I thought it was OK, but not anything I would order again. The women's bathroom was filthy and disgusting. We were headed to this restaurant new izakaya next door but we were a party of 6 and the tables only had room for 5 so we headed next door to their parent Restaurant, Akasaka. The restaurant has ample seating and an extensive menu. The server did a great job at explaining the menu and answering any questions that we had the drinks were delicious and strong, and the food was lovely as well. The Service was pretty good as well. Our server was attentive and made some pretty good recommendations. The food however was just ok. My crunchy sushi roll was not crunchy at all, but was still pretty tasty. The rainbow roll was also very good. The calamari was ok and pretty standard. Nothing special. My friends both had ramen bowls and enjoyed but wished for more noddles as they seemed to have a lot of broth afterwards. These bowls are definitely not of the caliber of a Domu. The staff at Akasaka are very friendly and accommodating. Visited with a party of approximately 30 people. They offered a room (has habachi grills/tables that were not in use) or to seat the party together in the dining area. We opted for the dining area. The dining area ambiance is warm and inviting. We were able to sit on one side and had two booths next to the tables. Side note: If we had the chosen the room, we would have been able to have music played on speakers that are stationed in the room. I ordered two types of sushi - the cucumber roll and the sweet plantain tempura roll. Both were delicious. I also tried the oyster tempura which was good as well. For my entree, I ordered the Chilean sea bass with vegetables only. However I was too full from sampling the rolls and the oyster tempura to eat more than a piece of broccoli. The next day at home, I heated the bass and vegetables. Good for reheat. It was delicious. The sauce on the sea bass was really good. The vegetables were seasoned well. At the restaurant, I had a 'Summer in Japan'. The drink was presented well and tasted good. Parking on a Friday night was challenging. So pack some patience and prepare to potentially stalk people on their way to their car(s) to get a spot. I was fortunate to find one. First off I like the vibes of this restaurant. Soon as I walked into the establishment I walked in and the bar was right there and the light strings were cute. The decor and paintings gave the place a great feel of being homey. The server we had was Nino who was so humorous and kind. He had some great recommendations and we enjoyed his company. The food options were tried was the karaage chicken, japchae, crunch munch roll, spicy fire chicken, and the trio. We of course had the peach nori sake. All of the food was delicious except for the japchae. The noodles were overcooked and the auténtica flavor of japchae was absent. I was able to speak to the owner and let him know. He listened and stated he will definitely try to make it the recipe better. Kudos for hearing me out. Just finished eating here and I am trippin on the high reviews. If you are Asian, you'll hate this place. This place does not know Asian food. Jajangmyeon had eggs in it, huge pieces of carrots, I doubt there was any jajang sauce in it, because it tasted like any generic stir fry noodle. Crazy. Not only was it tasteless, but it really seemed like it was sitting out for a hecka long time before being delivered. We also ordered nigiri. No, just no. No respect for how important sushi rice is. It seriously was fish on top of regular ass rice. Like, what? The fish wasn't half bad, but cmon now. If the rice sucks, the sushi sucks. Not only that, but it was hard. What a bummer. The restaurant was pretty busy so we expected there to be some delay with food service but this was beyond. We waited about an hour for our food to arrive and when it did, the taste and quality did not impress us at all. Our kimchi fried rice looked like it had been sitting there a while. They served it with a fried egg on top and everything was dry and stiff. Definitely overpriced ($25) for what it was. On a positive note, the sushi portions were generous and the quality of the fish was decent, but the sushi rice was not cooked all the way on some pieces and and the sushi rice was not seasoned. My relatives ordered a sushi boat and noticed that the sushi rice was hard/undercooked and were disappointed with the fish quality. The jjajjang noodles were bland and didn't represent the traditional Korean flavor that we expected. Not what you would expect after spending $350. They gave us free desserts to make up for the slow service but it didn't make up for the overall bad experience. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Long story short, a really great Korean/Japanese spot in Dr. Phillips! Walking in the hosts and the servers are very welcoming and very attentive all throughout our meal. They have ample spaces inside with an alcoholic bar, sushi bar, and regular table seating as your choices. They do have a MASSIVE (I do mean MASSIVE) sushi list so you will definitely find something you will like. Aside from choosing your own rolls, nigiri, or sashimi, they also have a good selection of noodles, rice and main entrees for your choosing. We chose the takoyaki and oyster tempura as the appetizer and it came quickly and very fresh and delicious! For our mains I chose to stick with the hurricane and unforgettable roll and my boyfriend got the Sushi Master - letting the sushi chef choose what to serve him. Both were very delicious and fresh options (my only wish is more saucy sushi options!). I have also had the Korean carbonara and the Volcano roll previously and have no complaints with those options as well. Overall, would definitely come back to get a good meal here again! read more
