If you want a full and unique dining experience, Monosori serves up just that. This was so different from any restaurant concept I had yet seen. They serve hand-rolled sushi, and most of the searing is at an expansive bar where you can watch them make the rolls right in front of you, with delicate care. It can get a little spendy so I think getting one of the specials where you get 4-6 rolls is the best deal. And for the average person you probably need at least 4 rolls to get decently full, for perspective. What's also interesting is that they serve you the rolls one at a time, and you don't get the next roll until you finish the current one. So again, it's a whole experience. Beyond that, the cuts of fish they had were just fantastic. They have an aging case for some of the fish right out in the restaurant to see the craft in action. Every cut was so smooth and high quality. So yummy. They do also have some fun drinks and Japanese alcohol on tap, as well as ice cream that's served in adorable baby cups. Everything was so meticulous in presentation and execution, Monosori does a fantastic job with their brand and atmosphere. Beyond all this, all of the workers were so kind and enjoyable to talk to, bringing the experience full circle and elevating it that much more. If you love sushi and a fun foodie concept, this is a place you'll want to check out.

Nice welcome by Leo, friendly service by Vivian and wonderful Rolls by Head Chef Harry. What an awesome team providing an enjoyable experience. Nice calming music sets a chill vibe for conversation and enjoyment. Their Nigori is a great delicious value and the green tea flows freely. A place to return and relax.

Phenomenal. I have been going to similar type restaurants like Kazunori (NYC) for years, and always hoped something like it would open in Florida. Mosonori is clean and has a relaxing vibe with great atmosphere. Staff is friendly. Food is top notch quality. The fish was extremely fresh and tasted delicious. The crab hand roll was spot on. Everything there was enjoyable. I am a very picky eater and particular when it comes to quality, and Mosonori does not disappoint by any means. The only negative thing I can say is that Mosonori is not closer to where I live in South Florida! We absolutely need Mosonori in West Palm, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami.

I happened to walk by because I had 15 mins before an appt elsewhere. I am so happy I stepped in. I asked them, can I get service quickly. The lady's response was, "yes that's exactly what we do here!" She was NOT lying--- amazing. The decor is brilliant minimalist, but welcoming. It was not many people, so my service was intimate and phenomenal. I ordered 3 items, tuna tartare, crab hand roll, and soft shell crab. They came out one at a time and paced my experience perfectly. I was advised to take a bite in a few seconds--- loved that. The Chef was so personable and simply great at what he does. I will definitely be back!

Another place we tried for lunch! Hubs, 9 yr old and I saddled up at the counter of this modern, sushi bar styled spot. We were promptly greeted and seated (one other diner finishing up). We were given a quick explanation of the menu and opted to try several handrolls and an appetizer. We started with the tuna tartar, served with a nice soy based broth and those little crunchy balls, delightful and enough for everyone to try! Then the handrolls. I enjoyed the crab, the scallop and a special, an uni handroll (my fave), all were fresh, with crispy Nori and a traditional preparation (read: no fancy addatives, letting the fish shine). 9 year old enjoyed a soft shell crab and a salmon handroll. No stranger to sushi, but her first hand roll experience, she was a fan, and enjoyed drawing on the placemats too. Hubs had 5 handroll set, he said the crab was his fave. Overall great personable service, strong chef craft and ingredients, hubs said it was a bit too basic (traditional/simple) for his taste but I thought it really hit the spot. A nice find!

I absolutely love Mosonori! It is an intimate feeling handroll bar. No reservations here - I've always walked in and have had no issues getting seated. I've been to both Winter Park and Sand Lake but this review is specifically for their Sand Lake location. I absolutely love the people who work there! From the host, to the servers, chefs, and management. They are all elegant and very friendly! They have set menus you can choose from or you can also pick your own hand rolls from a list. They have a rotating special handroll that I always end up ordering. I typically go for a tasting like one of the ones in the photos and 5-6 hand rolls. You don't think it will be enough but trust me. It is. Being that it is a handroll bar, they do time out when they give you the next piece and go around the bar to serve everyone and then rotate back to you. Keep this in mind as there are instances where there are multiple groups and you'd have to wait for your next roll for 10 or so minutes. Personally, this gave me good timing as I could finish my handroll and then eat the next one fresh. Their fish is so fresh and I love the sauces they use. This is the perfect spot for date night!

My friend and I popped on over after work and were sat immediately which was great since the restaurant just opened. We ordered some drinks and got several different roles. The restaurant itself is nice and elegant, the restroom was clean and the service was great. I definitely enjoyed the flavors of the rolls but do wish they offered other things besides rolls. My favorite hands down is the blue crab roll followed by the eel! The scallop was also pretty good. Will definitely be back!

I didn't realize there was also a Winter Park location until after I finished dining. The vibe here is very minimalistic and modern. Overall, I liked the experience, but it felt a bit pricey for hand rolls. We were charged $15 for a single shrimp tempura hand roll that was listed as a chef's special. I wasn't expecting that, especially since it wasn't on the regular menu, and it did feel a little excessive. That said, I really liked the design of the space and the chef's counter setup adds to the experience. It's definitely a good place to try at least once, though I'm not sure I'd come back regularly.

The interior was modern with bar seating only. I ordered the salmon, bay scallop, and akami hand rolls. Salmon (5/5): melts in your mouth, fresh Bay scallop (2/5): didn't taste good to me because tasted a bit sweet Akami (1/5): bland, least favorite roll, sauce could have been more flavorful I've tried many hand roll places, and while the rolls here weren't my favorite, the great service made up for it.

Enjoyed the hamachi tasting which had enough yuzu oil to my liking. I tried 5 handrolls which had enough flavor on it's own and no need to dip in soy sauce but adding a drop or 2 of the lefover pinzu uuzu oil from the hamachi made my shrimp handroll perfect. The crab roll was my favorite. Only let down during my meal was the side of pickled ginger that i found inedible with the earthy taste simular to the smell of soil and the softserve was on the icy than creamy side. The seafood is imported from different countries per Chef Harry (if I got his name right). Brad was on top of things and the Hostess was attentive as well. Bar seating and small high top tables, not for big groups. So come alone or with a friend will be perfect

Mosonori is a Sushi Handroll restaurant in a shopping center on Sand Lake Road. It's a small place with about 20-30 seats around a bar and then small 2-seat tables in the alcoves. It has a very clean, very minimalist vibe. They don't take reservations so we arrived on a Saturday night right when they opened and we were seated on stools at the back of the bar. Everything happens around the bar, with the servers taking food and drink orders as well as the chefs preparing the Handroll and tastings. We came to Mosonori because it was listed as one of the Bite30 restaurant participants and we asked for the Bite30 menu (3 courses for $38). For my first course, I chose a Hamachi Tasting which is thinly sliced yellowtail in a delicious ponzu based sauce. The fish was super tender and it was a great way to start our meal. I also ordered a Funaguchi Sake, which is a cold sake in a small can. It was bright and crisp but it was strong at 19% alcohol content! Next, we could choose 5 Handrolls and I chose Shrimp, Crab, Salmon, Hamachi, and Bay Scallop. They were all delicious with different accompaniments with the rice inside and then wrapped, cigar shaped, in dried seaweed. I probably wouldn't get the crab again and it tasted just like a regular crab salad to me while the others were really spectacular. Each Handroll is made individually and placed in front of you, omakase style. Finally, we got the one dessert on the menu, soft serve ice cream, with miso caramel sauce. Very yummy and a good end to the meal. FYI, 18% gratuity is automatically included, which was fine for me since our server and the chefs were great and always checking in on us. I would definitely come here again.

Another beautiful restaurant from Chef Henry Moso. As with his two Kabooki locations, this one really shows off his design sensibilities, and emphasis on wonderful fish quality. This Mosonori, like its sister restaurant in Winter Park, focuses on hand rolls. The majority of service is a t a counter, where each hand roll is prepared as you are ready for it, assuring the nori is crisp and still slightly warm. About a dozen types are available, plus a few sashimi options. Beverages include sake and beer. Service is friendly and knowledgeable.

Walked in around 545 and it wasn't busy. It is not a big restaurant but its quaint with a great atmosphere. The hostess was nice and sat me down at the bar. My waiter explained to me the concept of the restaurant and was attentive. I decided to do their Moso Omakase that had the hamachi tasting, yamaimo, lobster, akami, toro and eel hand rolls. Each item came one by one by the sushi chef, where you are able to enjoy the flavors of each individually. Then I added the scallops hand roll after the set was done. All the ingredients tasted fresh and such a great blend. As the restaurant is still pretty new, it is definitely recommended

The atmosphere was lively and fun...definitely a great spot if you're looking for upbeat brunch energy. We started with the deviled eggs, and those did not disappoint. They were flavorful, well-balanced, and probably the highlight of our meal. For entrées, my husband ordered the brunch burger. The menu didn't list bacon, and even after our server double-checked to confirm it wouldn't come with bacon, the burger still came out topped with it. While mistakes happen, it was frustrating having to wait for the order to be remade while the rest of the table was already eating. I ordered the Fruity Pebbles chicken and waffles for my daughter. It was okay, but definitely on the sweeter side. The chicken itself was coated in cereal and then topped with syrup, which made the whole dish very sweet overall -- just a bit underwhelming for us. On a positive note, the kids' portions were great. The mac and cheese and chicken tenders were both solid and generously portioned. Overall, the food was a bit underwhelming for the price point, but I'd probably give it another try...if only for the Maui Mimosa. That drink alone might bring us back.

Indeed it was with an ample amount of tequila, watermelon, and lime. It was quite refreshing and sweet. I took the popular pork chop dish (24 dollars), which was a big chop glazed in brown butter. It was pretty tender and flavorful with the glaze, and the romesco sauce made the flavors even better. It did get a bit gamey at the end, but I still enjoyed it. The vegetable was a generous amount of various colored carrots, which were thick and a bit crunchy. It had to be cut with a knife, but it was delicious, that the equestrian in me had a happy whinny. However, it is quite fun, when we got there on a Saturday night, they were having a Taylor Swift look alike performance. I absolutely loved it. It turned out it was happening every hour so we were able to watch her perform twice. They also had someone selling jewelry and an artist painting, overall it is such a fun vibe. If you want a standard table, you need to make a reservation, I made a reservation like 15 minutes before and they only had outdoor seating and high tops available. We chose a high top and it was fine. They do have a kids menu so my son was able to order a cheese pizza with a side of fries and the other one ordered a chicken quesadilla with a side of fruit. On the kids menu it says cheese quesadilla but he really wanted chicken, I was surprised the chicken was a bit spicy. He ate a couple bites and then asked for his own cheese pizza after seeing his brothers. All the plates are meant to be shared so they come out whenever they're ready. My older son's cheese pizza came out immediately and then my younger son's chicken quesadilla came out after all our food had been delivered. I think this is what made him want a cheese pizza because he didn't have his own meal for majority of the time we were eating. When we finally ordered his cheese pizza it then took a long time to come out. I'm guessing it's because it's woodfired and his pizza was behind a ton of other pizzas whereas with my older son we must've ordered at a good time. My absolute favorite dish was the marinated cucumbers. It was a light and delicious. It reminds me of what I find at a Japanese restaurant. I also got the butter chicken, it was OK. I didn't find the chicken super tender so I would skip it next time. We also got the maple glazed chicken wings. I found the breading to be overly salty. I ended up taking off all of the breading and my younger son ate a ton of the chicken. I would skip it next time. We got the steak skewers, which were pretty delicious. Again didn't love it so probably would get something else next time. My husband did not like his ribs so he definitely should skip that next time. So overall, the food was OK, but my kids absolutely destroyed their pizza and I love the atmosphere, which is why I'm giving this place four stars. I see that it has great potential. If parking is a problem, I recommend parking at icon park and walking because it's about five minutes away. Our server was super nice, she was a bit slow, but she also had a giant table next to us, which could've contributed to that. I would definitely come back. I enjoyed our experience here.
