The food did come out quick however, and funny enough, the appetizer came out last. Skip out on the chicken and garlic appetizer for sure. Our table didn't like it so we sent it back. I'd say get the lomein noodles with spice because that was definitely the best thing we had there. In terms of the protein, the beef was good but had some mint pieces in there that were completely off putting. This is a lovely spot with lots of flavor and generous portions! I highly recommend going here with people who are down to share so you can try more items! One entree works for about 2-3 people. I tried 3 dishes. My only feedback is the Dan Dan Noodles were not close to what I expected. This is my go-dish at Sichuan restaurants and these didn't have the flavor or texture. To make mine taste more flavorful I relied on adding some sauce from my fish entree to this. I'll come back as this place has such tasty food. Most Asians I've seen since our visit so this spot is legit chinese food. Parking is in a plaza and accompanies a grocery store. Despite coming from a heavily Asian area, this place offered some pretty unique dishes. The male server is very efficient and observant making sure every need is met and the dishes come out fast. For example, a table was having trouble packing and he swooped in and offered to help, flawlessly packed the soup within minutes. Hes also able to figure out any technical errors. Duck- never had a crispy fried version but the meat was still tender with a nice crackle crust. I loved the side slaw to cut through the oil Stomach tripe cold dish- solid flavor good mix right texture Boiled fish- lots of fish, very authentic numbing spicy l, maybe almost too much peppercorn oil as even soy milk tasted weird after lol. My favorite place for szechuan food. Everything was amazing!! I can't stop thinking about their mopu tofu and Chingqing spicy popcorn chicken. The price is super reasonable too! How spicy a fish is a highly individual preference, but I think this restaurant did well in warning people how spicy a dish is by default. When I was staying at the Helios hotel for a work event, I looked the restaurant up and I was so happy to see this location was near by! My daughter and I went for dinner one night. It was a Friday night and it was not too busy. We were seated right away. The waitress let us know that the meals were big enough to split so I ordered the sizzling beef with black pepper. This dish was amazing! It was piping hot, flavorful and filling. The plate of beef and peppers arrived sizzling like fajitas. We had enough to split for dinner that night and enough to take leftovers back to the hotel. I asked for extra white rice for the left overs and the waitress did not even charge us. We got all of this for $20.95! Very rarely you get a big, filling, delicious meal for such a reasonable price. I appreciate that the chicken here was boneless, which I vastly prefer (as some Asian places will do it with chopped pieces of bone-in chicken for better flavor, but you've got to watch out for little pieces of bone). The salted egg yolk shrimp is interesting flavor. The beef was tender and done right, bell peppers and onion cooked but still some crisp to them, and decent flavor on the sauce. I was so impressed by the high quality dishes I tried at Chilispot. I cannot recommend this place enough for authentic Chinese dishes. I arrived on a Thursday night at 9:30pm. Even though the restaurant closes at 10pm, the waiters were incredibly kind and still let me order and take a seat. The service itself was commendable throughout my experience - the waiters were quick and kept checking in with my party to make sure we were enjoying the food. The restaurant interior is comfortable, and even though it was late, the restaurant was packed. The food was so good! As someone who eats Chinese food often, I was blown away by this spot's unique dishes. My absolute favorite dish was the deep fried egg tofu with salted egg yolk. The egg tofu was so silky, a contrast with the salted egg yolk batter on the outside. It was the perfect bite of savory flavors. I've never seen this dish at other Chinese restaurants, and I was a fan of how unique and delicious it was. The dry fried string beans were crispy and salty, stir fried with an umami minced pork. I could not stop eating them, and the string beans were delicious paired with rice. Lastly, the Szechuan style short rib had a mala spice that was decadent. It was just enough spice and was balanced with a generous topping of fresh cilantro. Every single dish was delicious, the waiters were on top of it, and I loved my visit! Finally made the trek to this spot and wow what a hole in the wall! Definitely legit as the clientele was all older Asians. Staff spoke English but mandarin definitely preferred. Basically all the food is spicy but different intensities. The boiled fish was really tasty I was surprised because wasn't initially appetizing. Also ordered a tofu dish but felt like it was missing something. The popcorn chicken was a bit too crispy, tasted more like pork rinds with spicy seasoning. Another dish I failed to document was a cold potato dish which was great! There was a zing to the food and i kept going back for more. The cold noodle dish was also very good, easy to wash off the spicy for a toddler. We discovered this hidden gem during our search for an authentic Szechuan restaurant. We went for an early dinner on a weeknight and it was not too busy. The restaurant was well lit and I loved the aroma of the spices that permeated throughout the space. The staff quickly seated us and were very pleasant throughout our meal. We ordered the jelly in chili sauce, cumin lamb, and cauliflower pot. The cold glass jelly paired nicely with the vinegary, mala, sauce to open up the palate. The cumin lamb was so flavorful and I can taste the strong cumin flavor together with the gaminess of the lamb. The cauliflower pot came out blazing hot. The cauliflower had a nice char on it. The vegetable sucked up all the wonderful aroma and spice from the peppercorns! I ended my meal with a numb tongue and sniffling nose - all great signs of wonderful Szechuan food! This is a highly hyped Sichuan restaurant in the area. We stopped by three times this week, each time was told greater than 1 hour wait time and left. This place does not take reservation, so if you really want to try the place out, my advice is to come early. However, i would personally recommend avoid the hype, go find a similar Sichuan style restaurant instead. Today, after an hour plus wait time, we finally got a table. The dinning room has a style modern design. The service was good. Now, speaking of the hype, this food is definitely overrated. Though the food tastes authentic, but really nothing makes this place any special compared to other Sichuan style restaurants. I would consider this restaurant definitely one of the better Chinese restaurants I've been to in Orlando. The food here is great and so is the service! My group and I ordered the Chongqing Spicy popcorn chicken which has nuts which someone in our group was allergic to so they went ahead and made us a brand new dish without nuts even letting us keep the previous popcorn chicken without extra charge! The food here is also seasoned great with a large amount of flavor and even the pig intestine which normally I'm not a huge fan was great here and I couldn't stop myself from eating more. The one thing I will say though if you are not a fan of spicy food or have a hard time handling spice I would suggest either looking for another restaurant since spice is their main specialty. Visited the Ritz in Grande Lakes. I was craving Szechuan cuisine and came across Chilispot. Saw recommendations for the Chongqing Spicy Popcorn Chicken, and I must say 10/10. The specific numbing and heat of the Szechuan peppercorn and seasoning used delivered! Hit the craving on the head. The level of spicy isn't crazy hot, but for those that don't like spicy, I would recommend staying away. It was a medium level but the most important thing is that it's not a tradition hot that you expect with hot sauce. It was more of a seasoned, Cajun-esque, deep flavor, heat. One of my favorite flavors when it comes to food. Ordered a side of white rice but tip: the dish did come with rice already, so I had double! Also, 5 stars because of the service. The hinge container was bundled right with rubber bands so there was not leakage or mess in the bag when received. I appreciate that effort from a restaurant when it comes to online orders.
