The boba comes in the cutest cup, with the bear ears and straw hole cover. If you take off the top and put it back on the plastic on the bottom can squeeze easily and liquid will fall out everywhere bc it is so thin like those go-to water bottles. I got the mama bear salt coffee and it was way too overly salty for me that I had to ask them to take it off. I'm glad I didn't mix it up so it was easy to remove and asked to top it off with more coffee instead of ice. I didn't mind a lil salt but wholly cow, just the top alone was like talking spoons of salt into my mouth, not enjoyable It is a bit warm in there and after eating some hot delicious tendon pho I got extremely hot. I enjoyed the flavor as well as the many little tendon pieces with veggies but the Thai Basil had black spots all over them and I asked for fresher ones and they brought out more, with an explanation that the spots are from the cold fridge. Still not pleasing for the eye while I eat so I picked off what I could. The liquid had a little bit more oil than I would normally like on top but it didn't upset my stomach so I was happy about that. Thank you for being my home away from home when I stayed in Orlando for a week for a conference! I loved the chill atmosphere, tasty and authentic food, and refreshing sugarcane drink. All made with love, it felt like going to someone's house. The owner was very kind too! I came multiple times and tried: -Pho: huge bowl, you pick your protein. Lots of Thai basil! -Banh Beo: special steamed rice cakes with shrimp floss and scallions. You put the fish sauce over it and try to eat in one bite! Extremely rare to see on a menu, so I had to try it. So good! -Vermicelli rice bowl with grilled pork: super refreshing and also a huge portion. Loved all the fresh veggies and herbs (mint!) as I had been eating American food at the conference. -Fresh sugarcane juice. they press fresh sugarcane sticks in a machine right in front of you! it's hard to find this in Maryland that tastes authentic and not overly sweet (owner said those ppl prob use frozen sugarcane). I loved this and ordered it every time I went. The owner asked if I wanted kumquat in it and that was a game changer. Def get it with kumquat if you can! After an 8 hour travel day, we needed our noodle fix ASAP. When we saw Mama Bear was just across the street from our hotel, AND they had BBH (bun bo hue), we ran over ASAP. Their BBH is legit. They even serve it with banana blossoms on the side, which is traditional, yet hard to find in restaurants. The soup isn't spicy though, at least not for us Bay Area Asians, but it's packed with flavor. They have your usual condiments on the table, hoisin sauce, sriracha, as well as a chili oil. The chili oil had really good flavor but wasn't spicy either. They serve the bowl of soup with a whole rib, and what looks like a house made meat cake. My bf loved it so much, we came back a second night! On the first night, I had grilled pork vermicelli. I opted to add an eggroll but for $3.50.. not worth it, since they only gave 1 eggroll. It wasn't a thick eggroll either. Tasty though! The grilled pork was a good mix of lean and fatty, and the flavor of the vermicelli bowl was super fresh. I loved the addition of the pickled daikon and carrots as well. Dump the nuoc mam (sweet fish sauce), and top with sriracha and chili oil. Chef's kiss. My sister had the banh mi. She said it was good, but I didn't try it. My daughter had the cheese pizza. I appreciate they have toddler friendly items on the menu for the picky eaters. It's a large cheese pizza, and it takes a while to bake, so you probably wanna order that one ASAP if you're gonna get a pizza. It's nothing special, thinner crust, cafeteria cheese pizza. But we love that! And the little one had no complaints. On the second night, we ordered a chicken rice plate, spring rolls, and an order of wings to share. The spring rolls were nice and fresh. The dipping sauce it came with looked a little different than other ones I've had but it was still sweet and savory, and peanutty. The wings came in a sweet fish sauce glaze which wasn't expected, however they were bomb! The wings were fried really well with a good crunch without being overly battered. The rice plate is a good portion with veggies, protein of choice and a fried egg. However, we were disappointed to see the chicken was white meat and not dark meat. My little one doesn't care as long as the meat is soft and tender, so for her, it was fine. Believe me, the egg, rice, nuoc mam and chili oil is the perfect bite. Surprisingly, they even offer fresh sugar cane juice. They mix this with a little kumquat too, very refreshing. If you've never had sugar cane, the taste is sweet, and almost syrupy? It's very unique. The staff is a husband/wife duo and they're really nice and courteous. They had a little prize box that they let the kiddos pick a toy/treat from, and they also have toys, books and games to keep them busy. They take card and Apple Pay, but I believe card comes with a transaction fee. There's a parking lot available as they're in a tiny strip mall, but parking is abundant as there aren't many open stores in that lot. This place was a little hard to find because it's tucked back in a little shopping center, but I am so glad I found it. I've been back 3 or so times now and everything is always really delicious! We always sit outside because we bring our scooters with us. The owner and everyone there are the nicest people and the food is always really delicious! I noticed they also have some games inside if you want to play while you eat, so it's definitely kid friendly. They also offer pizza and fries if you have picky kids.
