Stopped in one night during the Immerse event. It was right next to one of the stages I was frequenting, and I wanted a quick slice, so in I popped. Ambiance was really fun. The thinnest place I've ever seen. Only room for two lines of people in the main area, one line for ordering, one line for picking up. Behind the counter was quite the operation. Pies being baked in one oven, being put on display, and then another oven jam packed with slices being warmed for the customer, along with their accompanying garlic knot. Every slice comes with a complimentary knot. I'm pretty sure I saw whole pizzas going out with eight included knots. The service was pretty good. Efficient, friendly enough workers. There was an aura of hurry up, what do you need, but with a line out the door literally all night, I do not blame them one bit. And the slice factory line got you in an out as quickly as it possible could. As for the slice itself, it was pretty ok. Good crust, foldable slice. Very cheesy, which is needed for most clientele who are in the middle of downtown in need of munchies. Slim toppings, though, and even after the heating process, the slice was kind of cold. Unfortunately, I can't recommend Gitto's Pizza based on my experience. I understand they were very busy and there was a long line, but that didn't justify the way I was treated. I asked if they offered a military discount, and the employee told me they did. When I presented my military ID, he refused to apply the discount and then attempted to take my government-issued military ID out of my hand to inspect whether it was legitimate. That interaction really caught me off guard and made me uncomfortable. Regardless of the store's policy, there are more respectful and professional ways to handle that situation. I still purchased my food and ordered a standard cheese pizza, hoping the food would make up for the experience. Unfortunately, it was pretty average. The bottom of the pizza was pale and seemed undercooked, so it lacked the crisp texture I was expecting. The ambience, however, did seem really nice. They have upstairs seating that overlooks the street, which could make for a nice spot if you're dining in. Overall, I understand busy shifts can be stressful, but customers should still be treated with courtesy and respect. Better customer service and more consistency in the quality of the pizza would go a long way. Based on this visit, I don't see myself returning. read more

Pros: Ambiance was fun. Quick get em in get em out place that can get you your pizza in a hurry. The pizza was pretty ok. A nice thin crust, good amount of cheese, and plentiful toppings. Cons: That quick service left a little to be desired. The garlic knots were cold cold. Kind of wish they weren't there. Tips: Get super drunk before coming here. Been here a few times and overall the pizza has been good. Definitely one of the better spots downtown but stay away after 10 when the clubs open. It gets a bit crazy inside. It has a nice sitting area upstairs with a little bar as well. It's a counter service pizza joint so it's basic service but it's easy to order from the display cabinet. read more

From the street, this place looks like a broom closet. It feels like you're standing in one as you are ordering your food, but don't fret. Just walk up the stairs and you will find a decent sized area to sit and eat. Or just take your slice to go and eat it on the sidewalk. I came with a fairly large group of mostly teenagers before a show at Dr. Phillips. I didn't expect much, but was pleasantly surprised with my veggie slice. Thin crust that was nice and crispy and hot and gooey on top, just as it's intended. The other members of my party that ordered slices with chicken were not impressed and ended up trashing what they ordered. Came in specifically for their pizza skulls this season! (And of course... garlic knots!) Gitto's is a great downtown spot for a quick slice, and I like their seating area upstairs! The pizza skulls come in 3 different flavors - pepperoni and cheese, chicken bacon ranch, and Buffalo chicken. We got both pepperoni and Buffalo chicken, and while the pep was the crowd favorite, I appreciate that they did different flavors! The skulls are nice and soft and stuffed with a good amount of pepperoni. Worth checking out for spooky season! Eating 2 was filling, especially with the knots, which are tasty as well! Everyone was kind when I picked up my order. If you're not already out downtown, parking here can be a challenge, but I was luckily able to find a shirt-term spot right out front. read more
