1 STAR -- I WOULD GIVE 0 IF I COULD I have been a loyal customer for the past year and genuinely loved this restaurant. I recommended it to family and friends, and for my husband's birthday, we drove about 45 minutes from Oviedo specifically to come here because I believed it was worth the drive. Unfortunately, after this experience, I will not be returning. From the moment we sat down, I felt rushed and treated more like a cash cow than a valued customer. We were constantly asked if we were ready to order, if we wanted something else, or if we were finished. I was asked so many times--at least 15--that it became impossible to relax and enjoy the celebration with my family. The entire experience felt like: order more, spend more, finish your food, and leave. One moment that really demonstrated how rushed we felt involved my brother-in-law. Twice, they tried to remove his plate while he was still eating. He was clearly still enjoying the last part of his meal, and there was clearly food left on his plate. Yet they still attempted to take it away--not once, but twice. That made the whole table feel even more pressured to finish and leave. When someone is visibly still eating and still has food on their plate, there should be no question about whether the plate needs to be removed. We came to celebrate a birthday, not to race through dinner. What made me particularly uncomfortable was the attitude toward alcohol. I recently had a medical procedure and, following medical advice, I am currently unable to drink alcohol. My husband ordered an alcoholic beverage, while I ordered an unsweetened iced tea. Our server referred to his alcoholic beverage as the "real Italian order," which made me feel judged for not ordering alcohol. The irony is that I was born in Salerno, raised there until I was 27 years old, and I am an Italian citizen with an Italian passport. But none of that should even matter. Nobody should be made to feel less Italian, less welcome, or like an inconvenience simply because they cannot or choose not to drink alcohol. Based on my experience, my advice to future customers is this: expect to be rushed, and don't expect the same warm treatment if you are not ordering alcohol, additional drinks, coffee, sparkling water, dessert such as the Delizia al Limone, or continually adding more to your bill. When a medium pizza costs approximately $26-$30, I am not paying only for the pizza. I am also paying for the experience--the opportunity to sit down, relax, celebrate a birthday, talk, laugh, and spend quality time with the people I love. An Italian restaurant, especially one presenting itself around Italian hospitality, should understand that sharing a meal is about more than turning a table as quickly as possible. What makes this even more upsetting is that this was my only time off all week. We chose to spend it driving 45 minutes from Oviedo to celebrate my husband's birthday at a restaurant I had loved and trusted. After a bill of approximately $350, we should not have walked out feeling rushed, unwelcome, and as though the only thing that mattered was how much more money we could spend. It was a terrible experience and ruined what should have been a special evening with my family. I sincerely hope the owner or manager reads this and takes it seriously. Please bring back the warm, welcoming, Italian family-style atmosphere this restaurant used to have. That atmosphere was one of the reasons I became a loyal customer and was willing to drive 45 minutes to eat here. Unfortunately, this one experience completely changed the way I feel about a restaurant I once loved and recommended. After a 45-minute drive, a $350 bill, being repeatedly rushed, and even having someone try twice to take away a plate while my brother-in-law was still eating, I left feeling like a cash cow rather than a guest. So attentive all night! At first I thought my $18 Expresso Martini was pricey but when it arrived it was in a huge martini glass and wonderful! I come to Orlando three to four times a year and for me, this restaurant will be one of the restaurants I always visit. They accept reservations online, we were seating promptly, and the service was absolutely phenomenal all evening. Pizza was the main focus of the evening but looking at all of the menu items coming out all night, I could eat anything on the menu. The pizzas were great. I wouldn't describe them as being NYC level, but if you appreciate authentic Italian pizza, you won't be let down. I drank all of the Negroni cocktails on the menu, the white Negroni was my favorite, and the drinks were all very reasonably price. The crust was light and perfectly charred on the bottom. The combination of sweet sausage and spicy peppers go together very well. This was our second visit to Simply Capri. Both experiences have been extraordinary. The employees are all seemingly Italian (or at least all of the ones we encountered were), welcoming, and friendly, and the food tastes so amazing and authentic. I also love both the indoor and outdoor atmosphere and décor. The restaurant is so clean and modern-looking. They've done an exceptional job of making this restaurant in the middle of a parking lot not feel like you're in the middle of a parking lot. Fresh sliced focaccia bread with a splash of olive oil on it is brought to the table, but we also wanted a calamari appetizer to start. However, we were uncertain about the only option they had, which included calamari, shrimp, fish, zucchini, and carrots. We ordered it anyway and were not disappointed. It's mostly lightly fried calamari with a sprinkle of the other items lightly fried. It was all so delicious. The calamari was perfectly cooked and not chewy. We also debated about sharing a pizza to start instead of the calamari, but that may have been too much. We'll have to go back just for pizza in the future. Some tables had it and they looked amazing -- like pizzas from Via Napoli at Epcot. Although I had it on my first visit, it was so amazing I had to order it again for my entree on my second visit. It was the Gnocchi con Salsiccia -- gnocchi with crumbled sausage, chopped broccolini, and garlic simmered in a wine sauce. It's incredibly flavorful, and because everything is chopped up into bite-sized pieces, each forkful is perfect because it contains a little bit of everything all at once. Everything was amazing and we look forward to more visits to Simply Capri, whether it's for entrees, one of their three-course meals on holidays or Sunday Supper, pizzas, or a collection of appetizers. Wow! This place is so great! We showed up without a reservation. It was busy but they still got us in pretty fast. The space is light & open, with classic decor. There's not much I can say regarding Simply Capri. I went during lunch (decided to start POURING when we arrived which I suspect is why it was mostly empty during our time there). Lovely service, the manager was very attentive and the wait staff was super nice. Simply Capri is simply very expensive for an average Italian restaurant. There's nothing that stands out about it even the gorgeous decor and seating doesn't elevate it to something upscale. Located in flamingo crossing area, it's interesting that they chose to make it so expensive as most of their clientele would be Disney college program kids. They did have gluten free pasta and even a gluten free bread option for me which is rare in America. So the bread was just GF toast that wasn't toasted so it tasted weird with the olive oil but hey! I got something. Unlike the rich artisanal bread my brother received. My brother's pizza wasn't gluten free. But he enjoyed it and said it was basic. My pasta unfortunately despite the gluten free option was not that good. The GF pasta was the cheap one that doesn't reheat well or even cook well. It tasted not fully cooked and rubbery at the same time. It couldn't be saved by the sauce or seafood I got with it. Overall, I find Simply Capri just okay but nothing to rave about or recommend (especially with their prices). read more

The restaurant is located in a small shopping center and has a nicely lit patio area outside as you approach. We were greeted immediately upon entering and offered outside seating due to interior being busy and not having reservations. Inside seating area wasn't large. Weather was nice and they did have heaters outside which made it perfect. We were pleasantly surprised that our waiter spoke Spanish, English and Italian. He was originally from Napoli. The restaurant was celebrating "carnivale" and had two menus available- we chose to order from the main menu and got the antipasto appetizer and calamari for the table. Both were delicious, the cheeses were so fresh and the meats were just enough for all of us to have a taste. My husband got the ny strip steak and his aunt got the chicken dish, mother in law got vegetable soup, our daughter got kids pasta which came with her own little mozzarella sticks appetizer. I chose a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. Every dish was made well and portions were perfect. Not too much but enough that you were full but not stuffed. I think every plate but my daughters was clean by the end of the night. On top of all the food being excellent, service was exceptional and we had table side entertainment with a magician and music. It was quite a "carnivale" we were celebrating my mother in law's 70th birthday and when they found out they surprised her with a song and small pastry for the table to share. We have enjoyed several meals at Simply Capri. Our most recent was to celebrate 2 anniversary's. The atmosphere at Simply Capri is so welcoming & light. While looking over the menu, our server delivered 4 flutes of persecco to celebrate our joint anniversaries! We were surprised & pleased. After an amazing meal, we all were so full & satisfied that we said no to desserts. Moments later, 5 staff members came to our table with 2 incredible tarts, and sang to us!!! It was such an unexpected gesture that made our celebration all the more special! We had the meatball appetizer, halibut and risotto, and tagliatelle alla boscaiola. Meatballs were fine. Came out quickly and were seasoned well. The focaccia that was paired with the meatballs was cold. It would've been better warmed up. The halibut and pasta took about 40 minutes to come after our appetizer. The timing was definitely off. The risotto that accompanied the halibut was good. Loved the fresh peas. But the halibut had a mushy texture in the middle and was just off tasting. The pasta was al dente, but the mushrooms were salty making it hard to eat. I do appreciate that the staff addressed these concerns and were courteous. We were vacationing in Orlando to go to the Magic Kingdom and decided to have dinner at the place that our hotel receptionist recommended. The food was fantastic. Authentic Italian cuisine and the service was top notch. The ambiance was lovely and the staff was super friendly. We ordered two espresso martinis to start. And then I had a glass of red wine with my halibut and he had a beer with his calzone. Didn't order dessert, but wished I did. I would definitely recommend it to anyone in that area. My wife and I recently moved to the greater Orlando area from Los Angeles. We were told we will not be able to find an authentic Italian pizza here. Whoever told us this was wrong. We were in a bit of a hurry when we ran to Capri and just grabbed a pizza Margarita. It was amazing - as good as, if not better than, any we had in LA, including Eataly (which we frequented regularly). The pizza was perfect. The dough, sauce and cheese were fresh and authentic and it was served pipping hot. This is not surprising considering everyone working there were from Italy. Based on the pizza, we'll be back to try the pasta and fish. The ambience is family friendly, not intimidating and casual, but certainly it is fancy enough to take important guests. Another day, another stellar experience at Simply Capri! We've been coming here for over 2 years now, and it is just so consistently excellent. We love coming for Sunday supper because their chicken parm is my husband's absolute favorite, the cutlet is so thin and crispy, plus on Sunday there is a prix fixe menu so you get a starter and dessert with your meal. I had the rack of lamb which was to die for, perfectly cooked, melt in your mouth served with fresh green beans and potatoes in a sublime gravy. Simply Capri has been on our list to try for quite awhile. It's a bit of a drive for us, located in the Flamingo Crossings Town Center close to Disney. Upon entering the restaurant, we really really impressed with the decor and and stunning outdoor patio that immediately transported you to the coast of Italy. It was a bit too warm to sit outside with our baby, so we got a table indoors. The staff was very accommodating with our stroller since my son was not quite ready for a high chair at that time. I decided to start with one of their many bar spritz options and went with the signature Capri Spritz (prosecco, Italicus bergamotto liqueur, lemon sour, and club soda) which was light & refreshing on a hot day. I would say their cocktail prices are average at $13-16. Looking at the food menu though, I was a bit surprised by how pricey it was. The menu primarily consists of pizza, pasta, and seafood. Most of the appetizers & salads are in the $17-24 range and entrees are $27-50. I guess that's what you can expect when you're close to the attractions/touristy part of town. We started with the Polpette Caprese (4 meatballs) and they were tasty. For our main dishes, my husband & I both wanted pasta. He ordered the Scialatielli Dei Faraglioni ($33) which is their seafood pasta dish with shrimp, clams, mussels, & calamari. I ordered the Gnocchi Con Salsiccia ($27) which is a potato pasta with mild sausage, white wine, broccolini, and garlic. When they brought out our entrees, they actually brought me the ravioli. I let them know that's not what I ordered. Maybe the server misheard me, but seemed to think maybe I was confused and emphasized the difference between ravioli and gnocchi (which I'm well aware of). I never order ravioli at a restaurant. While they were working on remaking my dish, I encouraged my husband to dig into his while it was hot. He said a lot of the seafood was chewy & gummy unfortunately. When they brought my dish out, you could tell they likely rushed it because the sauce was super watery as if it hadn't fully reduced. The texture of the gnocchi was good but overall lacked flavor. I ended up just boxing most of it up to take home. Now the star of the show for us was the dessert! We love anything pistachio and the Coppa Sorrentina is AMAZING. It has layers of pistachio gelato, pistachio cream, whip cream, toasted pistachios. Again, a bit pricey for a gelato dessert at $16, but it's definitely shareable and was a great way to end the meal on a sweet note. Our bill came out to about $130 which overall just didn't really feel worth it, but I would come back for drinks, dessert, and the beautiful patio vibes. read more

It was our first time eating at Simply Capri last night and it did not disappoint. It's truly an authentic Italian restaurant. The service was amazing, the food was seriously delicious from the appetizers we ordered to our main course. I have a gluten allergy but I still had a great amount of dishes to pick from. We came here on a whim due to crazy traffic heading home. People were a bit more dressed up than we were with our work uniforms but we were still seated and treated nicely. We were seated on the patio right away. Although they did ask if we had a reservation which leads me to believe some days it may need one. We got some sparkling water straight from Italy to set the mood: they brought us some bread which was missing maybe some olive oil with oregano to dip into but it was still warm and good. They took our orders and within minutes our food arrived. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs and my boyfriend got the gnocchi. We actually ended up switching meals when we tried them. The gnocchi were the absolute most delicious meal I have had in a very long time. Absolutely loved it. Once we finished we were offered desserts but the food was very filling. At the end of our dinner, the staff came out with a dessert with a candle on it for the birthday girl. I have been wanting to try Simply Capri for a while now. Today I was in the area and decided to have lunch. I ordered an appetizer and main course with water. The food is nothing to write home about even though they talk about genuine Italian cuisine. I didn't feel the food set them apart from any other "Italian" restaurant. Though the tables around me had. I said sure that would be nice. The bread was delicious and I'm glad I actually got to try some. The parking is quirky and on the back side of the restaurant. So every door you pass you can not enter. The decor was typical of any Italian restaurant. I feel for the price there are other Italian restaurants that are just as good, if not better. Absolutely loved my birthday dinner here this past week. We made a reservation and we're seated right away. From what I can tell most of the staff, including the managers were Italian. And around me a few of the patrons spoke Italian so I figured that was a really good sign. I enjoy their Italian sweet tea, which was perfectly balanced with sweet tea and orange flavor. Simply Capri - Pizza - Italian Near Me - Winter Garden, Florida

Recently my family and I decided to have lunch at Simply Capri. Some of my coworkers have dined here and have nothing but great things to say. Plus this is located 10 minutes from our home, so it was time. Simply Capri is an upscale Italian eatery serving wood-fired pies, housemade pasta, and other delicious dishes. When we arrived I noticed they have an hour door bar, that had tables for dining as well. The interior of the restaurant is stunning. The vibe is causal yet elegant at the same time. We were immediately greeted by the host and got seated in not more than 5 minutes. Our server Antonio came arrived at our table seemingly immediately. He was informative about the menu and gave us suggestions, I really appreciated how he took his time with us. He let us look over the menu for a few minutes and came back with waters and complementary Focaccia bread. ( the focaccia was light, warm, and delicious) My wife and Father-in-law decided to share a Margherita (San Marzano tomato, fresh mozzarella, Parmigiano Reggiano, basil) The pizza wasn't cooked all the way. Antonio was apologetic and remedied the situation immediately. They re-fired the pizza. When the pizza came back it was perfect. One of the best Margherita pizzas they've eaten. Along with the pizza, my wife ordered the Polpette capresi (House made meatballs, tomato sauce, ricotta cheese, mozzarella, Parmigiano Reggiano, basil) My wife absolutely loved the meatballs. She said they were moist and the tomato sauce made the dish. I ordered the Gnocchi con salsiccia(Potato pasta, mild sausage, white wine, brocolini, garlic) This was absolutely delicious...the white wine tied everything together. I loved the sauce and bitterness of the broccolini. Awesome dish. My sister-in-law ordered the Linguine alle vongole veraci (Sauteed clams, garlic, cherry tomatoes, parsley, olive oil) She was mostly silent during the meal, giving nods of approval. The plate was clean. My mother-in-law ordered the Scaloppine di pollo (Chicken breast pounded thin, white wine, lemon, butter, served with peperonata) She loved this dish a lot. She loved the lightness of the chicken and the acid. For dessert we all got double expresso and Delizia Al Limone (Limoncello sponge cake covered with lemon cream) light, not too sweet, delicious!. Our server Antonio also came with a Tiramisu(Ladyfinger, coffee, mascarpone cream) I was way too full to try it lol. He told us it was on the house because of the pizza not being made well. Also told us they took off the pizza from the bill. All in all this was a fantastic experience. Thank you to Antonio for being informative about the menu and all around attentive. Aces! read more
