I wanted to order a carryout on a Saturday evening, so I called Istanbul Grill to discuss choices and order food. The call was answered by an automated service that seemed determined to not let me talk to anyone. Over and over it told me I must order online. It texted me the link to the clover app for ordering. I placed the order with the app which told me pick up would be in 25 minutes. Then the odyssey began. I got a call from a phone number without caller id. I called back and was told Istanbul Grill is backed up and it would take an extra 20-30 minutes. So I arrived at the restaurant 1 hour after ordering and was told they had no idea when the order would be ready. I finally got my order about 1 hour 45 minutes after placing the order. While I understand they are trying to eliminate staff to take and track orders, the whole process and extra wait makes it worse since there doesn't seem to be any feedback to Clover about extra time required. Once I finally got the food and took it home, we enjoyed every bit of it. The baba and lavas was fantastic and the lahmacun was good. I considered ordering family platters, but did not because they all contained chicken. I ordered lamb based dinners which were also great. A single dinner is enough for 2 adults in our experience. I observed most tables were taking home food. So overall food was great. Ordering and pickup were quite bad. read more

First time here. We had the Vegetable Saute Very good. Use their bottled seasoning to get a real authentic taste. Grilled Fish (Wild Alaskan Salmon) slightly dry but good. I knew I wanted to eat here when I saw the lava hot bread in the photos and it did not disappoint. It was a great combination with the mixed appetizer even before our main meals which was also very delicious as expected with their promise. My friend tried the strong Turkish coffee and it came with a little cube dessert and it was really refreshing and a great side to the coffee. The dessert Kunefe also stood out i've never had a dessert like it. it was like a toasted coconut shavings immersed in cheese and honey. It was warm and surprisingly not too sweet. We were staying in the area at a hotel and was looking for something different to eat and yelp for the win with Istanbul grill. We were promptly seated and the servers were very attentive throughout our whole dining experience We started with the dip tray and lavash bread All the dips were absolutely amazing. Great flavor and the red one should be sold in a jar it's so good. The bread we ended up ordering a second one. It comes out hot and fresh and puffed up. Just poke the center when it comes out. Just watch for the steam We chose the mixed grill of meat. Everything was flavorful and tender. The rice with the hot sauce on table was good as well. It's plenty for 2 people to share The restaurant is a cute little place with lots of beautiful decor. They were fairly busy however it still felt intimate. This place is so authentic, it felt like we flew to Istanbul just to have lunch. Its a local restaurant, there were no other tourists, Seems like a go-to spot for the local Middle Eastern crowd, adding to the vibrant, authentic atmosphere. Stopped in for lunch at Istanbul Grill and was seriously impressed. The place has a cozy, welcoming vibe, and the food? Absolutely on point. We tried both the chicken and beef kebabs-juicy, flavorful, and grilled just right. The hummus was creamy and smooth, perfect with their hot, puffy lava bread (which is basically reason enough to go). In Orlando and trying to find a place to eat that was not the run of the mill tourist trap restaurants. Found this place and thanks to other yelpers who have dined here, we decided to give this place a try. We did not have a reservation but we were seated immediately. We ordered the "Pick Two" appetizers of hummus and ezme; Chicken shish, lavas (hot bread) and the special beef adana. The sign posted in the restaurant claims that they use grass fed beef. The quality of the meat was high and the food was delicious. The ezme was spicy but was a nice spiciness and with the lavas bread it was just divine! My favorite appetizer for sure. The hummus was good but the Ezme was so much better. The lavas bread was definitely worth ordering- it came out as a big ballon and slowly deflated into this soft and wonderful bread. The chicken shish and beef adana were delicious too. Came with a side salad and rice. The rice was really flavorful. Service was great - they were inconspicuous and may seem aloof to some diners (per some reviews) but if you were to ask for something, they were on it! They were not hovering over you - which I prefer. Our server was helpful in suggesting some entrees and efficient. This is more of a local resident hangout - quite a number of Middle Eastern customers not many tourists. My fellow Yelpers there's a reason this amazing local spot has 4.6 stars with close to 400 reviews. Family and I literally just found Istanbul Grill while looking for a bite to eat. We were starving! So of course I pulled up my trusty handy dandy Yelp app and Bam!...Istanbul Grill was a mere 1.2 miles away. Upon walking in we were greeted quickly, sat down and within just a few minutes our order was taken. Within what felt like just a few minutes later they served us the tastiest Turkish appetizer platter complemented by the absolute most delicious Lavas I've ever had. I honestly can't tell you which of the cold apps was better??? The ezme, hummus, tabouli, baba ganoush, and cacik ALL were just simply heart warming and soul filling...Did I mention the Lavas?? Uh...so buenisimo. And just before we finished licking our fingers and fighting over the last piece of lavas viola; a rather large plate of Turkish food goodness that seemed to weigh more than a Man vs Food challenge plate was delivered and it looked impressive to say the least. We quickly dove in diviing up the meats amongst us - all equal shares of chicken lamb, and beef adana, chicken and beef shish, lamb kofte all perfectly grilled to perfection laying on a pillowy bed of basmati rice and adorned with cabbage and lettuce. Was in town to visit a mouse and wanted to venture out for some food. I loved this place! The staff was so amazing, Nur, our waiter took excellent care of us. We tried the hummus and ezme to start, fantastic! For dinner I had a beef shish entree and was very pleased at the beautiful quality and flavor of the meat. I am not a rice person, but I ate every grain on my plate! Next time I am in town I am going back. A short ride share from the parks, make the time to dine here. We stopped three times. Each time the Turkish coffee got better and better. Lamb Kofta and the Choban salad were the stars on this menu. This restaurant fit the bill for us because we had teenagers along. Kids that won't even try falafel. But they have American standards like mozzarella sticks and French fries, chicken nuggets and fish/chips. The flavours here were good but not great. We stopped earlier in the week at another Turkish place that had the most unbelievable dishes. The servers are very nice and helpful. Even gave us a few pointers on places to see and things to do. The meat is a little bland, kebabs are expensive and sold single. Be prepared to spend a good amount to get a decent meal, but it is worth it. Try to stop by during the lunch specials! We also ordered their bread as an appetizer, which was a great start to the meal. The server was extremely nice, and the staff overall was helpful and welcoming. The only downside was a large family nearby that was very loud, which took away from the experience a bit. If it hadn't been cold, we definitely would've sat outside.
