Dined here VERY last min on our first night of staycation. We're newly local to Orlando and moved from Atlanta. In Atlanta this was one of our go-to easy dates night spots if we had some shopping to do at Lenox. We had an unexpectedly boozy night the night before and wanted something easy and delicious and known instead of our initial plan to try a wine bar that was new to us. I skipped drinks altogether. Sean got a glass of Pinot Noir I got a favorite of mine- the Bolognese and my husband got the chicken parm. Both we were familiar with from previous experiences at the Atlanta location. Both solid choices. We also had a bread service and vining at served with that was different. Really good and a touch sweet. I asked the server to find out what the brand of vinegar used was and she did. She also offered to get me a little cup of it to take home with additional bread. What she actually brought out was a soup cup full of it. I looked up the brand and she basically gave me a full bottle of the vinegar free of charge as a take home garnish. What a sweet and and adorable gesture. Management; you are seeing this she was delightful and so sweet and I hope I did not get her in trouble. This was an incredibly kind gesture. She could not have been more adorable helpful or likable. We also got the butter cake. The seasonal version was a banana and oh my god was it good. We almost ordered a second helping. Amazing food and the best service! We ordered the white truffle garlic bread, which was so buttery and yummy (our server recommended we try the focaccia next time, as it's even better). I had their kale and goat cheese salad - it was so rich and incredibly flavorful. We had a couple hour drive home, and our server gave us coffees to go, as it was late at night. Overall: Service is super friendly and the food is absolutely divine. I would highly recommend! read more

Met up with a colleague for lunch today and realized it's been YEARS since I've been to North Italia. I went when they first opened and remembered really enjoying it, but I have not been back for lunch. It was pretty quiet during that time. I ordered one of their zero proof mocktails, the 00 Spritz, which was light and refreshing. We decided to share a couple menu items including the beef carpaccio and the garlic knot sliders with pesto chicken parm. Prior to ordering, my colleague had asked our server about another menu item and the type of meat that was in the sauce because she cannot eat pork. It was clear that he was not very sure. For it not being very busy and most people dining in were on a lunch break, the food took quite a while to come out. We received the carpaccio first - it was very tasty and we both enjoyed it. When we received the garlic knot sliders, they looked amazing. It comes with 3 sliders and a side of fries. Once we began eating the sliders, my friend noticed that there was crispy prosciutto (aka pork) on them. This was not listed on the menu or mentioned by our server. Many people don't eat pork (for personal or religious reasons), so that ingredient really should be disclosed on the menu. Our server was apologetic and mentioned that they had just updated their menu so this must have been an oversight. Sadly, my friend did not have enough time left in her lunch break at this point to wait for something else to come out. I personally did enjoy the sliders and took the leftovers home. I also ordered the cacio e pepe pizza to-go to have for dinner later, and it was also very good. Besides that hiccup, overall the food was good and I would go back to try more menu items. read more

North Italia is one of those places that just feels good from the moment you walk in. The pasta tastes freshly made and full of flavor, they are a scratch kitchen afterall. We ordered the gem Caesar salad, bolognese, spicy vodka rigatoni and ordered the Italian donuts and panna cotta for dessert. The service is warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. The banana bread was big enough to share with the table, was warm and perfectly caramelized. The cocktails were also great and they had a large brunch menu. I want to come back for dinner. A lot of the reviews mentioned the lack of speed which this place operates that I have to concur with that. It took eons to do everything. There's no such thing as Free bed at this restaurant. $10 for some grilled French so we decided to bypass. My kids got the butter pasta and the kids cheeseburger. The butter pasta was cooked perfectly and it was very very buttery. She liked it. My son's cheeseburger was so overcooked you couldn't even chew the outside. I told him it was his fault for ordering a cheeseburger at a pasta place. But they did put on French bread, which I thought was kind of nice. My husband got the Chicken Farm, which was a wonderful dish. Huge piece of super crispy chicken but it was nice and juicy with just the right amount of sauce. Came with a side of Alfredo rigatoni and was absolutely delicious. Wish I had the guts for a 2200 cal meal because it was worth it. I got the House Bolognese. It was good. Definitely had been cooked for a long time and the noodles were really great bite. But it did come out cold and I had to send it back to get heated up more. The server did tell me that the dish cool is really quickly and I noticed that as well when I got it back, it was piping hot and within two bites it was chilly again. It did kind of give us some Chef Boyardee flavor profiles, but it was fine. Bombolini's were nice and light and pillowy but really needed more sauce or better yet some ice cream. They were... I've been here a couple of times now and consider North Italia to be a wonderful spot if you're looking for solid Italian food and a nice ambiance. It's a great spot for nicer work lunches or dinners; and I've taken my parents here for a family dinner as well. I've seen them accommodate larger groups without issue (which is a huge plus); and I've never waited too long to get a table. The food here is consistently good! We've tried a variety of dishes and I've liked them all. I'm partial to the Squid Ink Tonnarelli and my husband likes how their Spicy Rigatoni Vodka is actually spicy. The prices here are a tad higher than other comparable restaurants in the area , but not unreasonable. I would recommend North Italia if you're craving good Italian, a nice atmosphere, and friendly service. read more

Delizioso! Had our annual sisterhood brunch here and the vibe was fabulous and summery ! We booked a table in advance for magical dining which offers a $40 menu that includes an appetizer, entree and dessert. For starters we engaged in beautiful mocktails & cocktails with one of each appetizer ( we each ordered something to share ). The meatballs were sooooo good I wanted like 3 more . The flavor was hearty and served well. 2 huge meatballs so we cut it up to share. Then ohhhhhhh yessss, here came the banana cake and let me tell you , forget counting calories because it was so good we all ordered one to go ! Entrees came out and our eyes were bigger than our stomachs lol. Portions were large and everything was absolutely perfect. There were no left overs lol. Dessert: we loved the pistachio gelato and mango sorbet , we all said these were great choices and glad we ordered. Our sever was AMAZING! I tried this place for the first time today. The space was clean and quiet, which I really liked. We had the beef carpaccio, the hot honey pizza, and a pasta. Everything was good, simple but well done. The service was good overall, but I do wish our server had been a bit more attentive. I'd be open to coming back for another occasion! read more

Got seated right away noone acknowledged us for about 10-15 minutes after we were seated. That turned my mood as I was ready to order drinks and appetizers. If they are busy at least walk up to the table to acknowledge and say I will be right with you but nothing. This isn't my first time here but maybe my last time here due to this. Overall it's a great experience and very yummy food. It was a Friday night so we figured it was busy and made a reservation. The parking lot is busy and it's difficult to find a space. However, there is a small parking garage behind the buildings. It wasn't busy when we arrived but it definitely filled up with large parties. We ordered the white truffle bread; meatballs; bolognese; and spicy vodka rigatoni. All were good but portions are smaller than what we have previously experienced. Dessert was my favorite. The hazelnut torte is divine. Service for us was slow (maybe because of the large parties) and very impersonal. While we will come back; it's not ranked high on our list. read more

We sat at the bar during our visit, and our bartenders were friendly and helpful. We ordered some appetizers, meatballs and cacio e pepe arancini. I've visited North Italia more than 30 times, and I always have an extraordinary experience. I live just 3 minutes away from the restaurant, and honestly, it's one of my favorites in the area. The place is beautiful inside, with modern and cozy décor that makes you feel comfortable as soon as you walk in. The food is spectacular every time I go. From the fresh pastas, which have an authentic and delicious flavor, to the artisanal pizzas that always come out perfectly from the oven. I love trying different dishes from the menu, and I've never been disappointed. They also have very well-crafted cocktails and an excellent selection of wines. The service is another highlight of North Italia. I'm always greeted with kindness and professionalism. The servers know the menu very well and are happy to recommend dishes based on your tastes. You can tell they care about making sure you have a great time. I definitely recommend North Italia, whether for a casual dinner or for special occasions. I took my gf here for her birthday dinner. My first impression was how spacious & beautiful the restaurant is. Because we had made a reservation in advance, we were shown to our table quite quickly. We ordered wild shrimp scampi, Spicy Rigatoni Vodka, Prime New York Tagliata, 2 glasses of moscato & tiramisu. Shrimp scampi. You'll see the picture I uploaded - the shrimp was fresh; however, couldn't taste any garlic flavor, quite bland & toast was burnt badly. I didn't know how dare you brought that out LOL. Pasta tasted right, but almost cold. I believe it was sitting for a while waiting for our steak so they can come in the same time. Steak tasted great, just not a fan of the wild arugula. Moscato tasted great. Tiramisu was alright. It was Sat night so it was very busy at the time. Maybe I didn't have a good luck trying this place on the first time. I didn't have that good experience, so I don't see me come back any time soon. My waitress forgot our tiramisu at the end, good thing that someone came in to ask & brought it out for us. We didn't tell them it was my gf birthday, but when they saw her blow out the birthday candles (I prepared it myself because you never know, and I guess I was right), they didn't charge us the tiramisu. We came tonight for the first time for magical dining. The restaurant is very well decorated and wide open and there was plenty of seating although we made a reservation. All of the dishes were a good portion size and tasty. The spicy rigatoni has a good kick to it and the arancini had a good crunch. My bf and I went here for Valentine's Day and were underwhelmed by our dinner. I got seared scallops and he got tortellini. We paid $70 each for a 3-course meal. I think it would've been more worth it had we gone on a regular day. Also, the wait for our food was probably longer because of Vday. If it'd tasted fantastic, I would've been more forgiving. However, the lobster and crab cake bruschetta tasted kind of like tuna from the can with cream, and the seared scallops were a little too burned and tasted heavily of garlic. It was also a pretty small portion. Our desserts looked like they came out of a microwaveable cake tin, and tasted like it too. For $140 plus tax and tip, I would've expected better. The restaurant was clean and comfortable, and our server was accommodating. Everything else was meh. It's one tier below Olive Garden for me. read more

Another amazing meal with family here at North Italia in Dr. Phillips. The service was quick and speedy and efficient. The inside is spacious for both indoor and outdoor seating as well as private dining room area if you so choose. We started off with the chef board charcuterie, which had an array of accompaniments that were all delicious especially the freshly shaved prosciutto. We also tried the zucchini chips that were light and airy but my favorite must be the truffle butter toasted bread. We all order different foods to try together, including the prosciutto pizza that was light yet very filling close to a standard 12 inch pizza. The chicken Parmesan was my husband's favorite served with perfectly cook not dried out chicken breast, along with rigatoni and cream sauce. We also enjoyed the Bolognese, which is the house specialty that's always a solid choice made with pappardelle noodles. The beef, short rib dish was served perfectly with mash and veggies with a delicious gravy sauce. Last but at least was the delicious ricotta cavatelli. Highly recommend the meatballs! They're served over a creamy cheesy polenta and the perfect amount to share between two people. We started with the yellowtail crudo, meatball appetizer and the grilled bread. The meatballs were filled with flavor but the bread was chewy and charred a bit. In my opinion it was not worth the money and bread service should be complimentary at a restaurant with this price point. The tuna was delicious! Our second course was an arugula and avocado salad, do not recommend. The dressing was flavorless and the salad was lackluster. The lentil soup was good and packed with veggies! My husband and I ordered specials, the kids split the chicken parm with Alfredo over rigatoni. My shrimp and lobster pasta special with lemon sauce was not good. The sauce was flavorless and the seafood had a strong seafood smell, I was not impressed especially for the $$$. The osso buco special was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend! Once our server took our order I felt like her job was done. We waited a long time for drink refills and once a course was dropped by a runner she did not return to check on us. Such a great date night! North Italia is beautifully decorated and I love all the windows that invite all the light to come in. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. As soon as our reservations were checked, we were walked to our table. Chris was our server and he was fantastic! I was having a hard time deciding between Arancini and the meatballs. Chris was so helpful to go into detail of each dish to help me with my decision. I choose the Arancini and my husband choose the Caesar salad. The arancini was fabulous. Crispy on the outside and nice and flavorful on the inside. Lots of cheese and garlic! They were served with an amazing pesto aioli. The main course my husband got the rigatoni and I got the chicken Parmesan. The chicken was very tender and moist. The pappardelle with meat sauce was delicious. There was definitely enough food to share. I took a lot home for tomorrow. I got the tiramisu for dessert and Larry got the Italian doughnuts filled with Mayer lemon curd served with a blueberry compote. The tiramisu was delicious, but the Italian doughnuts totally stole the show. The pop of flavor from the lemon curd paired with the blueberry compote made my tastebuds dance! As I said Chris was an amazing server. He was suggestive for dishes and was always stopping by to see if we needed anything. It was a birthday celebration and he even took my tiramisu and put it on a board and personalized the board and added candles. We will definitely be back. Came today and brought the family for Fathers Day! I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to make a reservation for 9 people the day of, it was super easy! The server, I didn't get his name but he was absolutely amazing, very kind and made sure everything was good for us. For the table we got two appetizers, the Calamari Fritti and the Beef Carpaccio! I am not a huge fan of calamari but everyone enjoyed it! The beef carpaccio was so amazing, it's my favorite! We ordered a pitcher of Sangria for the table and the sangria is probably the best sangria I've ever had! For the main entree I ordered the Squid Ink Tonnararelli, it was very good! It was squid ink pasta tossed with shrimp and calamari and had a slight mint flavor! For dessert I ordered the Affogato and the Tiramisu, both were amazing! read more

I was extremely impressed with North Italia! I stumbled upon this American modern Italian restaurant because my husband is obsessed with Italian Grinders. It turns out not only do they have an excellent Italian Grinder with fries, but the kitchen was kind enough to let us order it even though we accidentally showed up during brunch hour and not lunch hour. The sandwich was extremely flavorful, packed with meat, and had a delicious sauce on it. The fries were also very crisp and fresh. I also loved the simple modern decor as it had furniture that was more solid and seemed to be able to absorb sound better compared to other restaurants. There was a large group having brunch about two tables away from us and it was not bothersome at all. I was watching the bartender while we were there and wishing that we had come for dinner rather than lunch -- that is my only regret.
