This time the service was slightly slow, we had drinks that we didn't like and it took about 20 minutes for our server to return to the table to get orders for new drinks. We ordered the buffalo chicken egg rolls and the deviled eggs (with no bacon) as appetizers. For our new drinks we got margaritas, I got a regular margarita and my partner got a passion fruit margarita. For entrees, I had the famous fried chicken and my hubby had the meatloaf. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice, relaxed, they keep the shades lowered during the day to reduce that sun intake and it's lovely. It feels nice and relaxed in here no matter the weather outside. Again, we enjoyed the experience but the service was fairly slow. We had to pretty much know what we wanted by the next time we saw our server or flag her down to get her attention. She was waiting about 4 tables on our area. We were party of two. read more

I've been here before and loved what I ordered. This time was completely different. Killer interior - I love a moody, airy space with good lighting and plant babies galore! Service was good though. I must have ordered the wrong things this time, and I was there for happy hour. The crab rangoon squash blossom was kind of fishy. I was expecting something that looked like or was housed in a squash blossom, but it was a fried ball of gloppy crab filling. I also ordered the jalapeño popper deviled eggs. It was a stunner, but this is not the app for you if you're not all about the yolk. It was yolk on yolk on yolk. I wanted something to brighten it up, like a pickled veggie or pickled onions maybe. Two Words . . VERY RICH I keep forgetting that this restaurant is essentially serving Southern style comfort food in an upscale setting. Southern comfort food as a general rule just doesn't sit well with me anymore and I'm going to be very transparent and bare my soul a little bit here but here goes . . . Ever since being on GLP1's, I've developed a really complicated relationship with comfort food. Foods that are rich, buttery, creamy or fatty now hit me completely differently than they used to. It's almost like my body immediately goes into shutdown mode afterwards. I feel heavy, exhausted and like I've instantly ballooned even if the portions themselves aren't massive. For the longest time I honestly thought it was simply the richness of the food itself but now I realize it's because my digestion just can't process heavier comfort foods the same way anymore. Suddenly... it all makes sense. The food itself here is VERY good. Properly seasoned, well prepared, beautifully presented... absolutely no complaints there whatsoever. I simply have to become more mindful and strategic now with my menu selections no matter WHERE I dine. I chose the Creekstone Farm's NY Strip with the fabulous bone marrow which I KNOW is supposed to be incredibly nutrient rich and good for you... but honestly... it just about put me under afterwards. This dinner happened thanks to Ronnald M. and his sister Teris and it was our pre-opera dinner outing before seeing the fabulous Merry Widow at the Dr. Phillips Center. The Monroe is honestly a very good pre-concert restaurant choice because of both the atmosphere and location... Visited for breakfast, but the experience was extremely disappointing. Despite clearly advertised hours starting at 9 AM, at 10 AM the restaurant was effectively not operating as open. Only a hostess and a chef were present, and we were restricted to just a few small tables near the entrance, while the rest of the empty dining area was off-limits. We were told the restaurant was "still closed," which directly contradicted their posted hours. The overall attitude made us feel unwelcome, and there was little to no effort to provide even basic service. It felt more like we were inconveniencing the staff than being received as guests. If the restaurant is not prepared or staffed to offer proper breakfast service, it should not be advertised as such. read more

The deviled eggs are scrumptious and make a great start or could be whole meal. The have both fresh and fried jalapeno but aren't spicy! The roasted salmon was excellent with cauliflower and couscous. I also had their daily Monroe punch which truly packed a punch made from gin and fresh juices. I came to The Monroe after a final with my girlfriends, and it was the perfect way to unwind. We had been here before and fell in love with the truffle fries, so we had to come back. The herb aioli was unlike anything I've had before and honestly made the dish. We also tried the General Tso's cauliflower. The flavor was great, but the breading was a little raw inside. Got sat right away on a busy Easter brunch day & booked up reservations. Place is spacious with lots of detailed decor throughout the whole place Shrimp & grits were tasty, liked the Tabasco butter and nicely cooked shrimp Chicken & waffles had 3 pieces of thigh meat and 2 small waffles. 1 piece was gristly and not so good French toast looked fancy and tasted ok The star of the show was the white meat chicken tenders and fries on the kid's menu. I went to the Monroe for my birthday this year and I thought it would be a much better experience. The food was OK but nothing to brag about. I think my favorite part of the meal was the warm potato salad. My party and I tried several different items on the menu as you can see from the photos The meatloaf was pretty good and the fried chicken was delicious and everything was really tasty but just not worth the money that I paid for it. I wouldn't go all the way out to a restaurant just to have fried chicken. The cocktails were mostly ice and I probably wouldn't order cocktails there again or maybe I would try to order a different cocktail overall I didn't have that great of an experience which is unfortunate cause I was really looking forward to the place and disappointed me The service was good. What an awesome vibe! I came with a few friends and we were all blown away. This is definitely going to be our new monthly meetup spot. We sat at the bar, which was a great choice. For food, I ordered the Chicken Caesar Wrap and it was so good. I wasn't a huge fan of the chips it came with, so I also got a side of truffle fries and wow... those fries were everything. We had brunch at the Monroe today and it was fabulous! To start I got the seasonal vanilla iced coffee which was so good and the Bloody Mary. Then my friend I split the fried chicken! The fried chicken was some of the best I've had and I would 100% get it again. I also got the deviled eggs were fine it was on the heavier side. Our server was so great! This time around, a stellar experience was had!! We decided to go to The Monroe on Veteran's Day and we're able to make a reservation. We ended up at a nice spot beside a window, near the bar, with a view of a TV screen. We perused the lunch menu and ordered the seasonal sweet potato latte and a chai latte from the coffee bar, as well as the roasted salmon entree & the flounder sandwich with fries. The food was plated beautifully, with care. ... Very aesthetically pleasing! The salmon was cooked perfectly with crispy skin and the flounder was delicious. The fries were nicely salted. All the servers who came to our table were so kind and made sure to say hi to the little one. The food was really good. Went to brunch at the Monroe today and the food was TO DIE FOR. We ordered the off menu bananas foster waffles as an app (it's an entree) and split it 3 ways. It was the perfect crispy outside, soft doughy inside waffle with an incredible sauce and chopped up bananas. Sadly it wasn't on the table long enough for me to snap a pic. I also had an off menu mocktail, Oathbreaker. It featured a strawberry flavor and a whipped matcha foam/cream topping that was unlike anything else I've tried. For mains I had the biscuits and gravy (usually an app) which had cheddar cheese and this amazing old bay type seasoning with a little kick (reminiscent of red lobsters cheddar bay biscuits but much heartier and fluffier). All in all, it was absolutely delicious. I will be back. I'd go back tomorrow if they served brunch on Mondays. read more

They had parallel parking and we got there right at opening so we were able to easily find parking. Our server was very nice and welcoming. I ordered a jerk spice chicken salad and it was extremely filling and full of flavor. The spice of the chicken added such a nice kick to a normal Cobb salad. My partner ordered the chicken and waffles which had a unique blueberry butter that paired very well with the flavors of the chicken. It's not much of an upcharge but be aware if you order any extra sauces they will charge you. The restaurant was overall stunning and had an amazing daytime vibe for brunch with friends, birthday celebration or even a low key breakfast with a loved one. I would certainly come back. read more

First of all, their fried chicken is absolutely amazing, perfectly crispy, and so well seasoned, and you must order it in one form or the other for brunch. I ended up getting the southwest style chicken salad, and it was incredible. Speaking of must order, the cinnamon roll quesito cannot be missed. It is served in a hot pan and smothered in cream cheese icing. They sell out of these pretty quickly during brunch, so keep that in mind! The Monroe is beautiful inside with tons of eclectic seating options, a coffee bar in the corner, and a large bar space with TVs. Definitely add it to your list of brunch spots in Orlando! read more

We arrived a little early and grabbed a drink at the bar, where the bartender was super friendly and gave us great recommendations after we asked what she liked. We came for Magical Dining and ordered the croquettes, the short ribs, jerk chicken, and the Oreo pie and Strawberry Cobbler for dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious! The short ribs were tender and flavorful, and the Oreo pie was a nice surprise--not overly chocolaty, but more like the classic cream filling, which made it really enjoyable. Only one small hiccups--my croquettes came out late because the wrong appetizer was brought at first--but the staff handled it and it didn't take away from the night. My favorite thing to get is The Monroe's Famous Fried Chicken and I think it provides the most value in terms of price and flavor. But I've also tried the steak and crispy chicken sandwich. All the food is solid, but sometimes I think things lack some salt or seasoning. The thing about good Southern food is that it's a flavor bomb; there have been times where I've felt a little underwhelmed with the food. But the quality of the ingredients is really good and everything is cooked well. The cocktails here are also sooo good. Their bartenders are fantastic and I've never had a bad cocktail. They get their coffee from Foxtail and that's fine. I don't think it's super good, but the not the worst I've had from a brunch spot. My friend has hosted multiple birthday parties here and they're really great at accommodating large groups! You can even rent out their outdoor event space for private events. read more
