this place earns 5 stars across the board. We came to try the magical dining, the service manager and server, Johnny & nick were incredible with their hospitality paired with the amazing food. The restaurant is nicely decorated with candle lit ambiance, the cocktail I ordered was incredible. Every thing on the menu is crafted and specially made. We ordered the pork belly s'mores, which was an explosion of flavor. The meatloaf was crispy and moist and paired nicely with the onion ring & the dessert we ordered was fresh and light but just the perfect amount of sweet. This long of a review displays how much of a good time we spent in this restaurant and how delicious the food was, haha. Definitely give them a visit.
I came for brunch and it was really good. I had their seasonal burger and their infamous chicken and waffles. I also tried their sweet potato latte (it was sooooo good ) at their coffee bar. Our server was great and personable. I love the vibe of the restaurant. I love how the waiting area is set up like a living room with the furniture.
This place is such a gem, they take classic dishes and put their unique spin on it. The stand-out is definitely the Pork Belly S'mores. It's messy of course, but a great combination of sweet, salty, and umami - absolutely worth a little mess. The Roasted Salmon was cooked perfectly and went well with the bright caper-raisin vinaigrette and orange. I tried a bit of my friend's Grilled Meatloaf, which was more of a classic, but still solid, really good meatloaf. The PB&J Gooey Butter Cake was packed with flavor and satisfied my peanut butter craving. I also tried some of my friend's Bread Pudding which I would recommend to anyone, it was perfect.
The Monroe is always a good little spot to pop into if you are in the Parramore / Downtown Orlando area. While it's been open for some time now, it never ceases to amaze me how nicely The Monroe is designed. It is a beautiful restaurant that blends a few styles. The various fixtures, textures in the seating and decor, the hanging planters, and just overall layout of the restaurant (the large glass garage doors that open out to an outdoor patio) keep it very inviting. It gets great natural light as well. All that aside, it is one of my favorite spaces to walk into and just have a cocktail at their bar. Service varies. When they are busy, they are BUSY, and service does slow. When they are not as busy, service is pretty standard. Their kitchen will accommodate most diets and allergy restrictions - which is always a good thing. The staff is kind and attentive. There is AMPLE seating throughout the restaurant as well as a newer event space you can inquire about. Pricing is a BIT HIGH in my opinion - especially for the area it is located in. However, they do have some reasonably priced items on their menu. I will say, come HUNGRY here as their portion sizing is MASSIVE. Most times, it is TOO MUCH food for me - so, I always have leftovers. The food is okay for the most part. I cannot say there is anything on their menu that blows me away, but I do enjoy the Chicken Caesar Wrap here. Their drinks are good and probably what is the highlight for me and usually the main reason I do visit The Monroe. I enjoy both their cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages. Also, the location is good. Parking in this area is metered (via ParkMobile). So, keep that in mind. All in all, The Monroe is a solid restaurant.
Always love dining at The Monroe. Everything is good! The menu is a fun take on comfort food - for example the grilled meatloaf is the comfort food you know but the glaze is grilled onto the meat and the whole dish is plated like fine dining. The kitchen sink cookie dessert is huge and oh my lord delicious. Still on cloud nine after a fabulous dining experience. Reservations recommended! Parking is metered street parking or a nearby parking garage that also charges. There is indoor, outdoor and bar seating. Tables and high tops. Service is great. Enjoy!

We have been many times but wanted to stop in again and enjoy magical dining. We had a reservation on a Friday night and I'd say we needed it. The place was fairly full. We sat with Sarah who was kind to get us our first round of drinks in for happy hour prices (although the old fashioned rang up for $11 instead of $10 ). Our friends soon joined us and they got a cocktail order in as well. I enjoyed the seasonal punch. We had the roasted tomato Cesar salad, the tomato soup, and the pork belly s'mores. Everything was delicious. I wished the grilled cheese had more of a crunch to the bread though. The pork belly was super tender, and those crackers were delicious. I want to make those at home! The soup was filling. I felt it might give me heartburn so I only had a couple spoonfuls. For dinner we had the meatloaf, the meatloaf with bbq sauce on the side, the salmon over farro and the bourbon chicken. I had a bite of everything. So good. I wished my meatloaf was over mashed and not sweet mashed, but that's my personal preference. The bourbon chicken had an Asian twang to it- very nice. The salmon was absolutely perfect. I think the farro salad was served cold? It was cold when I had a bite. But the fennel and all that goodness was awesome. Second round of drinks I had the Paddington which I think I'm allergic to? That or the soursop just caused my throat to be super uncomfortable. I had two sips and started throat clearing and sort of low key coughing with that throat feeling. I passed it off and ordered the Esmeralda which was really good. Smokey mezcal. For dessert we had the pb and j (not my fave- too dense!!), the bread pudding - so good, and the cookie- also very good. We enjoyed the ice cream on top yum. Service was great. Food was excellent. Ambiance is good. Parking is super easy. The place is cute too. I do recommend this place.
The place is nicely decorated with mid-century modern style with tropical vibe. Part of the restaurant is setup of a happy hours/lounge area, while the other is more traditional dining area. The service was spot on! Our server was attentive and friendly. Love fried chicken and drinks, but the chicken sandwich had a little too much batter for my liking.
This is my first visit. I am trying their Magical Dining Menu. I arrived earlier and also sat at the bar to experience their Happy Hour. There is limited street parking. Luckily there is also a car garage nearby on the next block. The bar area was pretty busy. I found open sitting with no problem. I started with the Pisco Sour. Recommend by the bar tender. That was a very nice cocktail. Then I ordered the Crab Croquet. Wow! Prepared to perfection with flavorful ingredients. The rest of my party arrived and ordered the CD Fizz. They love it. I really liked the open space and decor the bar area offers. Sam was amazing and all his recommendations hit the spot. We were then sat in the dining room and very happy to know we could continue to order from the Happy Hour Menu from the dinning room. That is a plus for me. I ordered the Pork Belly S'mores. I was a little scared. I was surprised that I really enjoy the salty sweet mix. It was delicious. I then ordered the Mushroom Stroganoff. Perfectly balanced and seasoned. Generous portion and plenty of leftover. For dessert, I ordered the Kitchen Sink Cookie. It is served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I absolutely loved this dessert. Overall I really enjoyed their MD Menu. I look forward to coming back for dinner to experience their regular menu.
The Monroe was incredible. Let's start with the history that is the basis and inspiration. Learning about Dr Monroe Wells was the highlight of our visit. Take time to learn about this inclusive, caring man. The ambience was so beautiful. The details in the design and decor made me want to redesign a room at home. Warm, comforting and unique items, lighting, paint and murals. Food was outstanding. We went with 3 items others rave about. The deviled eggs were creamy and delicious. Generous portions for everything. We also ordered the fried chicken and meatloaf. Both were exceptional. Chicken is light and crispy and the inside was tender and flavorful. The staff was attentive - literally everyone was. From the hostess, to the bartender , to our server and the food runner. 10 out of 10 for us. Comfort food at its very best. And the nod to the local icon Dr Monroe Wells was the best.
Where are the 10 stars! I went for a close friends birthday. We sat at the bar. Sam was fantastic and team mate (I forgot his name). The place is a great vibe for date night or just hanging out with friends. The service was great, food was fantastic! Listen the General Tso cauliflower deserves an award! I have been searching high and low for some good bread pudding since a recent visit to New Orleans. Let me tell you, stellar! I am going back again this weekend just for that! LOL I will get extra sauce this time!
Delicious food!! My husband made reservations and surprised me for dinner. First time here and we got LOVED IT!! The vibe was immaculate. The drinks were great and the food was soo good that we still talk about it days later. He loved the bone marrow. Steak was perfectly cooked, tender and juicy. The cake was not my favorite at all. It took way too long to come out and it came out very cold. Not much chocolate flavor, too much salt. It was missing something. We will skip dessert next time.
The deviled eggs are scrumptious and make a great start or could be whole meal. The have both fresh and fried jalapeno but aren't spicy! The roasted salmon was excellent with cauliflower and couscous. I also had their daily Monroe punch which truly packed a punch made from gin and fresh juices. Parking in the garage isn't cheap but the wait staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. The place is really classy with lots of sofas and chairs to hang hour on for Happy Hours.

I decided to do my last magical dining for 2026 here. I made a reservation through OpenTable. I decided to sit at the bar since it was open, and tried the Capari cocktail for 15 dollars. It was literally bitter sweet, with the sweetness coming from the fruits, and the bitterness most likely from the liquor. It was still a good and refreshing drink. For the appetizer, I had to try their unique and popular pork belly s'mores. It looked like a dessert, but a sweet and savory dish. The pork belly was braised nicely and tender, with the marshmallow adding the sweetness. The homemade crackers were very nice, and the jalapeno added a nice kick. The main dish was the bourbon chicken. It was nicely tender and had a hint of sweetness from the bourbon. The rice went well with the chicken, and the broccolini was perfectly grilled. For dessert, the bread pudding with ice cream was a perfect end. Moist and delicious. It was getting full, so I was able to save some and enjoy at home too. The service was attentive with my bartender checking up with me occasionally. They were quite busy, but still friendly. The dining area looked dark and a bit more formal than last time I visited. But still social and relaxing. I didn't get to see the outdoor patio, but it looked nice from the inside. I parked at the UCF/Valencia garage, which was 3 dollars per hour. Sadly, they don't validate parking. I am so happy I ate at the Monroe for my last magical dining. It's been a while since I eaten there, but the food and drinks are still great. I must say the food was definitely high in calories, sugar, and fat, but it was well worth it. It's just that good in a very nice environment. We came here for our 2nd magical dining experience for this season and it did not disappoint. We got seated immediately after briefly taking in the beautiful atmosphere. The server came around and took our orders, promptly brought our water every time our water was low, and checked in on us. I got the Caesar salad, the Mushroom Stroganoff and the bread pudding. All three were delicious. The salad was straightforward and was exactly what I would expect from a Caesar salad, but the stroganoff was the standout. The pasta was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The only thing I could say that would make it even better was if it was a little less salty. The mushrooms really carried through, the sauce was creamy, and the micro greens helped brighten up the brown color palate. The desert, I love bread puddings and this had a modern twist. It was served as a square, crispy on the outside, like it was deep fried, covered with cinnamon sugar, but still soft on the inside. It was almost like a bread pudding crossed with a churro, which I loved. Highly recommend, I will also say, I love all their restaurants. read more

I've been here before and loved what I ordered. This time was completely different. Killer interior - I love a moody, airy space with good lighting and plant babies galore! Service was good though. I must have ordered the wrong things this time, and I was there for happy hour. The crab rangoon squash blossom was kind of fishy. I was expecting something that looked like or was housed in a squash blossom, but it was a fried ball of gloppy crab filling. I also ordered the jalapeño popper deviled eggs. It was a stunner, but this is not the app for you if you're not all about the yolk. It was yolk on yolk on yolk. I wanted something to brighten it up, like a pickled veggie or pickled onions maybe. I've had better taste experiences at The Monroe before, but this wasn't one of them, unfortunately. read more
One of our new favorite brunch spot in Orlando!!! It's the cutest location and had some really delicious and reasonably priced food. I got the Chicken and Waffles and it was one of the best I've ever hard!! So fresh and delicious and it also came with blueberries and a special butte. I'll be dreaming about these!!! They also had a great cocktail menu and I opted for a Sangria which was really refreshing and not overly sweet. We cannot wait to come back! read more
I came to The Monroe after a final with my girlfriends, and it was the perfect way to unwind. We had been here before and fell in love with the truffle fries, so we had to come back. The herb aioli was unlike anything I've had before and honestly made the dish. We also tried the General Tso's cauliflower. The flavor was great, but the breading was a little raw inside. We sat at the bar during lunchtime and loved the calm, laid-back vibe. The aesthetic is beautiful, and the service is always great. I would definitely come back, especially for the fries, and I would love to try it for dinner next time! read more

Got sat right away on a busy Easter brunch day & booked up reservations. Place is spacious with lots of detailed decor throughout the whole place Shrimp & grits were tasty, liked the Tabasco butter and nicely cooked shrimp Chicken & waffles had 3 pieces of thigh meat and 2 small waffles. 1 piece was gristly and not so good French toast looked fancy and tasted ok The star of the show was the white meat chicken tenders and fries on the kid's menu. I preferred the meat in these way more than for the chicken & waffles I don't know if it was astonishing or kinda sad that the best thing they had was a kid's meal but it was their same batter and fresh chicken and if I came back for brunch, I'd probably come back just for that read more
What an awesome vibe! I came with a few friends and we were all blown away. This is definitely going to be our new monthly meetup spot. We sat at the bar, which was a great choice. For food, I ordered the Chicken Caesar Wrap and it was so good. I wasn't a huge fan of the chips it came with, so I also got a side of truffle fries and wow... those fries were everything. Absolutely worth it! For drinks, I started with the Monkey Paw it was strong, delicious, and perfectly balanced. I also tried the punch of the day, which ended up being my favorite. And of course, we couldn't leave without a lemon drop shot, which was made perfectly! I loved the inside decor and really appreciated how much seating there is. It feels fun, comfortable, and welcoming all at once. I already can't wait to come back! read more
I went to the Monroe with a big group of girlfriends to celebrate my birthday. They were super accommodating and celebrated me well! Food is always amazing!! There's nothing on the menu that isn't worth getting! I love their Caesar salad and general saos cauliflower! The vibes are upscale American with SO many great spots for photos! read more

I went to the Monroe for my birthday this year and I thought it would be a much better experience. The food was OK but nothing to brag about. I think my favorite part of the meal was the warm potato salad. My party and I tried several different items on the menu as you can see from the photos The meatloaf was pretty good and the fried chicken was delicious and everything was really tasty but just not worth the money that I paid for it. I wouldn't go all the way out to a restaurant just to have fried chicken. The cocktails were mostly ice and I probably wouldn't order cocktails there again or maybe I would try to order a different cocktail overall I didn't have that great of an experience which is unfortunate cause I was really looking forward to the place and disappointed me The service was good. I never really have major complaints. All I expect my waiter to do is bring my food and take my credit card at the end of the night. Ambience was good. It was a cold night in January but I still had a good time. the location is cool and I like the way the restaurant looks. read more
The physical space is really beautiful. From the moment you step in, you're greeted with design choices that make you want to keep looking. The place is stunning. Service was great and attentive. The hostess was really sweet and checked in on me during my meal. Wait staff was good as well. I ordered the Flamingo drink, which was delicious, but it came after my meal came out. Timing was a bit off. I ordered the chicken which came with mac salad and a cucumber tomato salad and a dinner roll. I'd been wanting to try this for a while. The chicken leg was good. Juicy and hot. The coating though is underwhelming. The chicken breast, unfortunately, was dry...very dry. The mac salad was a bit too salty. I tend to love salt, but there was salt sprinkled on everything, which I would usually love, but the culmination of salty salad, salted chicken, and salt on the roll was overwhelming and tipped it into the too salty territory. I see the appeal of this place and think I'll go back for drinks, but the food was not what I was looking for and at the price point, I wanted better. read more

Shoutout to the bartender that overheard me telling my friend that I really just wanted some grilled chicken to go with the cauliflower and deviled eggs and said "oh we can totally do that." And they did! It was my first time sitting at the bar and a time was had! So fun and the food is great as always. Can't wait to go back! read more

Two Words . . VERY RICH I keep forgetting that this restaurant is essentially serving Southern style comfort food in an upscale setting. Southern comfort food as a general rule just doesn't sit well with me anymore and I'm going to be very transparent and bare my soul a little bit here but here goes . . . Ever since being on GLP1's, I've developed a really complicated relationship with comfort food. Foods that are rich, buttery, creamy or fatty now hit me completely differently than they used to. It's almost like my body immediately goes into shutdown mode afterwards. I feel heavy, exhausted and like I've instantly ballooned even if the portions themselves aren't massive. For the longest time I honestly thought it was simply the richness of the food itself but now I realize it's because my digestion just can't process heavier comfort foods the same way anymore. Suddenly... it all makes sense. The food itself here is VERY good. Properly seasoned, well prepared, beautifully presented... absolutely no complaints there whatsoever. I simply have to become more mindful and strategic now with my menu selections no matter WHERE I dine. I chose the Creekstone Farm's NY Strip with the fabulous bone marrow which I KNOW is supposed to be incredibly nutrient rich and good for you... but honestly... it just about put me under afterwards. This dinner happened thanks to Ronnald M. and his sister Teris and it was our pre-opera dinner outing before seeing the fabulous Merry Widow at the Dr. Phillips Center. The Monroe is honestly a very good pre-concert restaurant choice because of both the atmosphere and location... Just go. Do yourself the biggest favor and go. When I tell you everything here is just perfection, I mean it. From their service (shout out Stephanie & Dani!) to their vibes to their food! The aesthetic and vibes are immaculate - Its's fun with a hint of moodiness. I tried their Kung Pao Cauliflower and Fried Chicken. A few friends tried their salmon and burger. Their food was made thoughtfully with fresh ingredients and portions were excellent. Their fried chicken was salted to perfection with the right amount of spices and THAT CRISP will send you outta this world. I don't know how their chicken remained moist and tender! The Mac n cheese is also to die for - noodles were al dente with the right amount of cheese. I was here with a large group and Stephanie serviced us seamlessly. This time around, a stellar experience was had!! We decided to go to The Monroe on Veteran's Day and we're able to make a reservation. We ended up at a nice spot beside a window, near the bar, with a view of a TV screen. We perused the lunch menu and ordered the seasonal sweet potato latte and a chai latte from the coffee bar, as well as the roasted salmon entree & the flounder sandwich with fries. The food was plated beautifully, with care. ... Very aesthetically pleasing! The salmon was cooked perfectly with crispy skin and the flounder was delicious. The fries were nicely salted. The drinks were not overly sweet and the flavors were very balanced, creamy and delicious! The perfect pick-me-ups for a chilly day. Our server was friendly, engaging, knowledgeable and made our dining experience a very memorable one. We enjoyed learning about the history of the restaurant as well as the layout. This was indeed a highly memorable dining experience. This place is a great touchstone, which means that although I'm not from Orlando, whenever I'm back in town (and I will be back) I will ALWAYS make it a point to come back here. It's a great place to share time with friends for meaningful and comfortable dining experiences. The drinks were great and the dishes were unique and the tastes backed up the descriptions in the menu. We were greeted sweetly and service quickly. We had brunch at the Monroe today and it was fabulous! To start I got the seasonal vanilla iced coffee which was so good and the Bloody Mary. Then my friend I split the fried chicken! The fried chicken was some of the best I've had and I would 100% get it again. I also got the deviled eggs were fine it was on the heavier side. Our server was so great! One of our meals took awhile to come out but they took care of it which was nice. Parking was easy with two hour free to park outside. The overall ambiance was so cute! definitely has a retro vibe to it and it was great. Can't wait to try dinner here! read more

Perfect place for brunch! Everyone was super nice and accommodating as one in our group was gf/df. The manager came and checked in on everyone and was such a sweetie! It's in a pretty quiet area but the restaurant itself was pretty busy. This was one of the best bloody Mary's I've had so definitely don't skip! All of the food was delicious so you can't really go wrong with anything! read more
Yes. Go. Don't hesitate. The Monroe is one of those places that you can expect good food, great aesthetics, and happy servers. I've gone many times without a disappointment. Their menu does change on certain days, so be sure to check out their menu before going. My favorites are the deliver eggs, the breakfast burgers, breakfast potatoes, steak and eggs, and their chicken and waffles. Their drinks are delicious. I'll be back soon! read more

We loved this spot for brunch so much that we went two mornings in a row! The atmosphere and decor within this restaurant are a relaxed yet refreshing vibe! The staff were all amazing and fit well with the vibe of the restaurant. I loved their seating area set up like being in a living room. Now the food, everything and I mean everything I had was A+ oh so yummy in my mouth! Sublime! The ingredients were so fresh! My grits were so creamy and delicious! The BEST grits I've ever had! I will return for more and I'd like to expand to their dinner menu. I highly, highly, highly recommend! read more
Vibes. Vibes. Vibes. This place, you guessed it, has the vibes. Enter into a sophisticated yet chill and laidback ambiance and don't miss out on the coffee shop as well. The Monroe delivered what we were looking for in our date night. We got the pisco sour and happy to say they use Peruvian pisco. Appetizer we enjoyed the general tso cauliflower. So good. The food was amazing!! Seriously hit the spot. Biscuits and gravy are elite, and honestly a great appetizer to start your meal. Everything came out hot, fresh, and cooked right. Shoutout to Stephanie, our waiter... she was awesome and really met every need we had, even down to opening the shades so we could get that perfect brunch lighting The fried chicken was done to perfection crispy, juicy, seasoned just right. I can't think of a better American food restaurant in Orlando. The quality of the food, the attentive service, and the modern and inviting ambience are hard to beat in Central Florida. I was there this last time during the last weekend of magical dining and was very glad I went. The broccoli cheddar soup, the salmon with couscous, and the Oreo cream pie were all carefully made and delicious. It's just thoughtful American food that one can't easily find in Florida. read more
