Otto High Dive was our next stop on my Magical Dining tour, and wow, what an experience! My sister and brother-in-law were visiting, so we made reservations (definitely recommend). Parking was easy with free spots in the back and additional street parking. We were a little unsure where the entrance was at first, but a staff member outside noticed and guided us right in small detail, big impact. Once inside, we were greeted warmly and seated immediately. The restaurant was lively and busy in the best way. It's an intimate space, but beautifully styled very much giving South Beach energy. Our waiter, Louis, truly elevated the experience. He introduced himself, explained the menu thoroughly, and made great recommendations. We opted for the Magical Dining $40 three-course menu along with the $30 drink pairing, which included a drink for each course such a great value. I'm really glad we tried this place, but probably won't be in a rush to come back anytime soon. The parking is a tight shared lot, so you might get lucky and find a spot, or park across the street and walk over like we did. Our reservation was at 7pm and we didn't get seated until almost 7:30pm. The place itself isn't very big, it's cozy, cute and I liked the vibes but when the other couple we were meeting with showed up it did feel a little crowded by the host stand. The host was nice enough to give us a menu to browse while we waited and someone came to ask us what drink we would like to sip on (i really thought they were offering us a free drink for the wait, but later saw we were charged for them, no biggie but would have been nice considering we waited so long) Drinks were all so so good! No complaints there. We started with the smoked fish dip and ceviche which was different than your typical one, but refreshing! I had the skirt steak - it was flavorful but definitely heavy on the salt. I still really enjoyed it as well as the rice & beans. Hubby got the ropa veija which he enjoyed. Our friend got the osso buco which he liked, but said the chicharron was not good at all. We then had some pastelitos for dessert! They added a 18% gratuity to the check, which was fine and I appreciated them telling us as well as circling it. It's a classy Cuban restaurant in the milk district. But it gets the job done for a girl who misses her Miami Cuban food. I always admire the space when I enter. And the bar is stunning as well. I highly recommend making a reservation, even on a weekday. You'll be surprised by the amount of people coming through who enjoy a good meal and drinks here! I finally tried their espresso martini and it is on my list of top 5 best espresso martinis in Orlando. They have an espresso machine, so you know it's fresh. I was starving but thankfully the waiter was knowledgeable and told me that ordering the Vaca Frita as an appetizer is more than enough. (I'd say for 1 person but that's just me being big back. Also my friend was there just for the drinks and plantain chips). It's hard to not compare it to the authentic dish I had back in Miami. But I did enjoy their take on it. I am so glad I finally got to try Otto's! The food and drinks are delicious! We got the Vaca Frita which is a Flank Steak, Tostones, Caramelized Onions, Red Sofrito, and Aji Verde. The flavors are perfectly layered! Same goes for the Mojo Chicken - Roasted Chicken, Braised Onion, Chimichurri, White Rice, Black Beans, and Cuban Bread. The chicken was so moist! The service at the bar was great! Kudos to Brandon for making drink suggestions. We first had the espresso martini, then the Key Lime Fizz (adorable mini key lime cheesecake on top) and followed by the Piña Mamecita. Food - The food was all amazing! For starters we ordered the Arancini and meat pie. For mains we got the pulled beef, and steak. Both were great with large portions. For drinks we got a pitcher of the sangria and I don't recall the flavor but it was very boozy. lol we could barely get through the pitcher. Service - The entire staff, host, server and manager were all very friendly and attentive. Our server made great recommendations food wise and for night life as we were from out of town. Just went to Otto's High Dive for the first time for brunch with friends and it was such an awesome experience. Parking is definitely a situation, but we went close to when they opened and were able to find spot. We got the crab cocktail which should not be missed, it's fun it's served with plantain chips. It's cuban twist on some classics that I thought were just super creative and fun. We also got the Waygu Tartare, Pescado Frito, Arroz con Pollo which were good but my husband got the Primo Sandwich was the best thing along with the crab salad. Service was great, Leslie took wonderful care of us and made great recs. The vibes were good, balance of people and music and chatter. This was so so yummy! One of the best Tartares I've had in a long time. We came during happy hour which seemed like pretty good deals but we stuck to the normal menu. It started getting busier after we sat so maybe make a reservation just to be safe. The inside was super fun and a vibe , definitely want to come back on a weekend and at a later time to check it out! The food and drinks were so delicious! If you like mezcal definitely try the elote bebe- it wasn't super sweet and you can taste the mezcal! As far as parking goes, it shares a parking lot with sideward brewing and stasios so it's going to be very busy and it's a small lot. Otto's is such an awesome place! The drinks are incredible and food even better. It's a cute and small place in a popular area. Our waiter was super attentive and friendly. We started with the tartar which is UNREAL! Seriously the best I've had. Then we ordered the ribeye and thoroughly enjoyed it. The sauce on top along with the chimichurri was so good. Unique cocktails, a very kitschy Havana vibe with all the rum drink options and decor and the flavors and preparations of food were excellent. Went on a Wednesday to celebrate a life event. Got there early but they seated us right away. Our server came over right away and got our drink order. Two very good old fashions. Started with the fish dip and some oysters. Fish dip is actually a pretty bigger portion. Almost as big as the flavors. Very good and they brought some extra bread wedges as we needed them. The oysters were very good. Baked in a chile lime butter sauce. We had the skirt steak (another big portion) and it was very flavorful. Just the right amount of char complimenting the preparation. Black beans, rice and tostones finished off the presentation. The Mariscado was delicious. Plenty of mussels. clams and shrimp. The fish portion was also just about right. I will say the chorizo gets kinda lost in the dish. Good once I discovered the bits in the bottom but really not adding much to the dish. The broth was very good and I took the leftovers home. We finished off the night with an attempt to eat the Toasted Coconut Rum Cake. They had a nice flambe presentation and we couldn't finish it. It was very good the next day as well. OK, it's been too long to write about Ottos, and I've been going for a few years. This update, dated April 2026, summarizes a few thoughts. The ownership group and consistent staff at Otto's High Dive continue to bring a refreshing atmosphere, great customer service, luminous and invigorating cocktails, and a vibe! Now Ottos is a Bar, yes, but they also offer what I would say is above-average food dishes for a dive (Ottos is not a dive, but you get what I mean). In fact, there are times at Ottos that I think the staff is more interested in telling you about the food and what goes into it than in the cocktails they have. (hey, that's ok)! By far my favorite cocktail is the Emerald Dream! If you are reading this in late April 2026, it is sadly no longer available, even if you see it on the menu (which you just might). Otto's is a very unique take on a Cuban restaurant with high-end flare where it matters and keeping things simple where you should. Starting with the smoked fish dip, it was very light and fresh and a good way to wet the palate while we sipped on drinks. Square Grouper was a very fun cocktail both in color and flavor. If you like deep flavors, the Cuba Libre isn't your average cola cocktail and packs a delicious punch. For mains, we went with the classic Ropa Vieja and the roast pork. This is where Otto's shines taking such simple meals and executing them perfectly. Both were so juicy and tender and the rice and beans are not just a side but a memorable addition. The restaurant is very quaint and perfectly on theme without being cheesy. Parking can be a struggle so be sure to arrive with plenty of time before a reservation, which I also highly recommend. Our waitress was very sweet and easily explained some of the more unique cocktail ingredients and their features. She also helped formulate a custom drink for one of my dining partners who was looking for something specific. Otto's comes with high praise from both locals and media and I see why. The modern décor paired with classic Cuban music playing in the background created a classy, vibrant space with incredible energy and character. The standout dish of the night was, without question, the Squash & Burrata Salad. OH. MY. WORD. This may be one of my favorite dishes I've had all year. It was refreshing, slightly spicy, and packed with so much depth and texture. Every bite was perfectly balanced and left us wanting more. We also tried the lamb lollipops with cilantro-mint sauce and lemon garlic vinaigrette. The lamb was cooked flawlessly, tender and flavorful. The sauces complemented it well, although the vinaigrette leaned a little heavy on the lemon/vinegar for our taste. For our entrée, we shared the whole grilled snapper, and it was phenomenal. The fish was incredibly tender and well executed with savory and light garnishes. We especially loved the pickled peppers and the green sauce. The combination of mango and passion fruit was something I never would have expected to work so well, but the chef absolutely nailed it. Last time I came to Otto's I was so impressed by all the food and drinks, I definitely had to come back. My husband and I decided to do a midweek date night and even then the place was packed. We sat at the bar to have a drink while we waited for the table and the bartender was super cool and answered all our drink questions. My husband ordered a Floridita and I got the Todi Bird Cake. My husband really enjoyed his drink and my Todi Bird Cake was spectacular. The flavors were tropical without being overly sweet. Both drinks had good flavoring to them and after one drink you felt a little buzzed but in a good way. For dinner my husband ordered the Ribeye and I ordered the Ropa Vieja. My husband's ribeye was tender and literally melts in your mouth. He ordered congris with his meal but the rice was a little hard so he opted out for regular black beans with white rice, which was a better choice. My ropa vieja was saucy and had quite a bit of meat. It was seasoned well and the black beans with white rice complemented it perfectly. For dessert we ordered some champagne, pistachio coquito, and a guava and cheese pastillito. Champagne was on point and the pistachio coquito was amazing. The pastillito was warm, flakey, and the perfect amount of sweetness. Otto's is definitely a perfect date night spot and the vibes of the restaurant are relaxed and fun. So glad I chose this place for our brunch with the girls! The atmosphere and decor was beautiful and clean. Our server was friendly and gave us awesome recommendations. I wanted some modifications on my drink and entree, and they happily accommodated me! I got the banana coffee without alcohol, not frozen, and added milk/cream. And I subbed the hollandaise sauce with mojo aioli for my benedict. DELICIOUS! They did not skimp on the crab and it was flavored beautifully. The plantain cornbread was subtly sweet and the coddled eggs were super jammy. I had a couple bites of my sister's lechon asado, and it was the best dish we had there! The interior is so pretty and the staff is so great. Shout out to Brandon the bartender. He was really nice and cool and really made our experience. The prices are excellent during their happy hour. I can definitively say there isn't a single item on the menu that I thought was just ok or just good. Everything here is excellent. We got the tostones, frita burger, beef pincho, and smoked fish dip. For drinks, we got the banana coffee, mai tai, mojito, and Brandon's drink which is key lime pie in drink form. I think everyone should go at least once. Beyond the fact that there is so much love and thought that has gone into the menu, service, and concept, it is a fun place to go to. Otto's High Dive is a favorite and yet somehow I always forget how amazing the experience is, cradled in the Milkhouse District with feelings of neighborhood, community, and culture. I do hate how hard it is to get a reservation and now even bar seating is also reservation only which we had no idea as we arrived on a Thursday evening around 8pm and were still given an approximate wait time of an hour. Thankfully we waited maybe 15 mins and were seated at the bar, just me and my husband. Everyone knows they're fantastic mixologists, I've never had a bad cocktail here. The Floridian Slip is a go to for me, but the Banana Coffee was new. I don't do frozen drinks often as I get full off of them. I did use this one as a dessert drink after my meal which worked out great. Tons of flavor, sweet, and of course a kick to add a little buzz. The Mojo Chicken has been my go to in the past but when I saw the Lobster Escabeche with Plantain Cornbread I had to try it and there are no words to describe the amazing flavors, sweet and savory in each bite. I think I've found my new go-to. I highly recommend this dish!! During our visit we sat next to another bar owner out of DC and we shared our love of Chicago, food, spirits and vinyl lounges. It was great to connect with others continuing the goal of creating community and family in this great neighborhood space. First time trying this place and I have to say they probably have one of the best happy hours in Orlando. The space is small but the ambiance is open and welcoming. We opted to sit at the bar and service was fast and friendly. Everything we ordered was fantastic-- the media noche and shrimp skewers being my personal favorite. Each bite was flavorful and truly delicious. We also ordered the Mai tai and old fashioned (not pictured), both beautifully crafted and also delicious.
