Heyyyyyy you guyyyyyyys! Had the pleasure of visiting for R&B night which was Friday. Cocktails were reasonably priced during HH. The crowd comes after 9. Music was GREAT total vibe. Not all the bartenders mixology was on point very unbalanced drinks but there was one I wasn't able to catch her name she was on it. Grown and sexy vibe, casual attire. High tops available, two bars, VIP booth spaces available with bottle service. Overall a time was had!
Real nice lounge spot in downtown Orlando. Great drink specials and music is superb. Love the vibes and aesthetic. No cover to get in.
Finally, a proper bar downtown, with all my mid century glam decor dreams come true and a happy hour to top it all off. Came here on a Saturday for happy hour, despite downtown being a rachet mess on the weekend, Proper was an oasis. A DJ spinning vinyl records surrounded by a stylish space, friendly service and good drinks. I got the penicillin ($10) since it was surprising to see Monkey Shoulder scotch on a happy hour menu and was not disappointed. Going downtown is a mission, but if you manage it check out Proper ;)
Truth be told, I've often went to the other bars and clubs that are right next to this establishment, but never been to this one. It's very nice and very upscale. It gives a luxury and it gives a very classy look. A friend of mine went in here for their happy hour on Wednesdays and we ordered a couple of happy hour drinks. She ordered the old fashion and I can't remember what I ordered, but it was absolutely delicious. I went on later to order the old-fashioned myself and that was really good. We ordered the buffalo pizza which is listed below, but a few minutes after we ordered the Philly cheesesteak pizza and it wasn't as good as the buffalo but still delicious. I would come back without a shadow of doubt. Food was quite good and was filling as far as flavor was concerned. I'll be back! The vibe and the people that were there just gave a really classy look.
This place was AWESOME. I am a sucker for unique cocktail bars. I'm also an EDM fan so this bar really just ticked all of my boxes. I love the concept of an actual listening room. And what was so neat about it was that the acoustics in the room felt as though you were at an actual concert. You could feel the vibrations in your bones, but without it being too loud! It was excellent. The bartenders were incredibly nice. The drinks were awesome. Unfortunately I can't remember what my partner drank, but I got the Vuela Vuela which was a sweet coconut drink and I was in love. I really really wish we had something like this in Houston. Excellent bar.
4 stars for a beautiful new cocktail bar in downtown Orlando! The space has some beautiful couches and chairs to hang out in. There's a happy hour menu until 7 pm (Tues to Sat), with different drinks that are $10. Normally all cocktails are $15, they have other selections of wine and beer too. We ordered from the happy hour, I went with an old fashioned and my husband got the penicillin. Both really packed a kick! The penicillin has monkey shoulder and some other aged Scotch. My old fashioned was made with Benchmark Bonded bourbon. Love that they play music on records and there's comfortable seating in many areas! Overall a great new place to check out in Orlando!
Proper brings sophisticated lounge to Orlando. We have clubs, bars, bars with food but Proper brings a new experience that we were dying to have! A space dedicated to eclectic music, different DJ styles, comfortable seating and cocktails. We enjoyed Friday happy hour as one of only a few people, while the DJ spun a cross between jazz and soul and eventually picked it up with some old school hip hop as crowds got bigger. The bar tenders checked on us and served us at the lounge area we were sitting at and were very attentive considering the amount of people that started to fill in. I noticed in a previous review that there was no food at the time they reviewed. We did have a great charcuterie cheese board by the local La Femme Du Fromage" out of East End Market. I love when local places partner to support each other! So, it's a bite and not a meal, but honestly the vibe here doesn't scream they should have food in the first place. We had a wonderful evening vibing to different genres of music and really great cocktails. I'd say this place is for the "Grown and Sexy" who don't want a club but love music and a drink. Can't wait till some of our family comes down to take them to this new fav spot of ours.
I attended a preview of this location a while back. Overall, the theme of venue is cool, but I was disappointed in the selections. They have very limited food for a full bar. If you do come here, I HIGHLY suggest eating before or making plans to eat after. For one drink, I paid around $20 +tax. It was a little much for me, but it was good. For seating, they have reserved tables/couches for guests, which is an additional cost (unless that has changed). There is some bar seating, but there is mostly standing only. Parking is a bit of an adventure since it is downtown so plan to pay for parking in a parking garage or circle around for a street parking for a while. The ambiance is great! As I said, the theme is really cool and I collect old records in my free time so I loved it. I'm hopping they start to play more oldies or songs people know as well as the indie music they had at the time. Service was great! The bartender was very nice during my visit. I probably won't be coming back - since I'm not a big bar person.
A date night.. these are few and far between so we were so excited to visit @properorl and have a few drinks. Loved the vibe and decor. The attention to detail was perfect, from the lighting, and the eclectic music, to the well crafted old fashions I sipped. Such a good night with my husband . We'll be back.
I would go to Proper Orlando again. I think it's such a unique concept to play vinyl all night long. We tried three cocktails: Coastal Grooves, Easy Easy, and the Strawberry Switchblade. Both Coastal Grooves and Easy Easy were quite refreshing with hints of citrus. Coastal Grooves was more fruity with a little pineapple. Each of these house cocktails was priced at $15 dollars. When closing the bill, an automatic gratuity was included. As I went at night on a busy weekend, I would suggest making a reservation if you plan on spending more time there. My group didn't have a reservation, we managed to find seats at some point. After a while, though we did have to move from the seats, the staff was polite about it though. Despite the limited space, the bar's decoration was pretty. The cozy, clean, and classy ambiance enhanced the overall experience. The music volume was a little loud which made conversations somewhat challenging. All in all, I had a positive experience at Proper. I would return during happy hour to try more drinks. It would be even more enticing if they added more food to their menu. When I went I think there was only one or two food items available.
Proper is lounge/bar in the Dowtown Orlando area. It offers an upscale vibe to Downtown Orlando sandwiched in the midst of all the chaos. It very reminiscent of a vinyl listening bar and the DJ being right in the middle being the main focus is a great touch. It's a beautiful atmosphere and if you're looking for something fun but not too crazy with nice aesthetics it hits all the marks. Music isn't overwhelming loud so you can still maintain a conversation. It's perfect for a date night or if you have a group of friends with you. For dress code I'd say slightly above casual would be acceptable. Their cocktail menu isn't the biggest but the atmosphere makes up for the lack cocktail options. The bottom line, this is great fun spot and for someone like me who doesn't care for clubs but likes good music and drinks with some nice aesthetics this is the perfect spot. Drink menu is a bit limited but I'd still recommend it.
No food here. This place is for drinks only. Good selection of spirits. Although the mixed selection is limited. Was not impressed with the mixed drink that I had. Service was slow. Not engaging bartender. They had 4 people at the bar and talking amongst themselves. Min interaction with guest. Crowd on a Tuesday night at as dead. Music was so so. They were playing Vinyl Records. Bar was not the best place and you will get neck soreness, the main action is behind you.
Proper is a vinyl listening room serving craft cocktails. Think Gatsy in Downton Orlando. I love this bar, it's so pretty, especially the decor. This is so unique to the Downtown Orlando scene, they stand out even with all the other bars surrounding them. Perfect to get dressed up and have a night out. The cocktails are great, the bartenders are always nice and willing to answer questions. The espresso martini is made with tequila which I loved. The drinks are pricey but that is exactly what you should expect for an upscale bar. Occasionally they have food pop ups, make sure to follow them on Instagram for more info.
The location is awesome. We came right at opening and had the whole place to ourselves. Love the decor and the feel of the place. I will say that the drinks were really good , for sure a go too. I won't say at that the service was bad at all ... but would have had more drinks but it took forrrr ever to make them ... This spot is cute but it's small! They line all of their furniture against the wall so there isn't much 'dance room'. There's two bars but not that much space. The drink prices were decent but they weren't strong. I do love the look of the place. The disco ball and the DJ booth with a radio homey look? Idk; it was cute. I think this is more of a slow vibes, chilling kind of bar for orlando night life. Not comparable to like beachum or nothing. It's super cute tho. read more

I think I came on the wrong day? Came here Sunday early afternoon after having lunch in the area. The drinks are very good, a bit pricey but within downtown Orlando's price. Bartender definitely knows what he's doing and very friendly! The space was beautiful and modern. I think I was slightly disappointed in the vibe & music. It was soo loud! Like honestly I feel the vibration. We first started at the inner bar, couldn't handle the loudness, moved over toward the bar closer to the entrance. Then the DJ increased the music even more, so we moved to the outdoor seating and that was more bearable. I thought this was a chill listening bar with a classy vibe. Maybe I had an incorrect impression prior to coming. Hopefully it was just an off day or maybe my eyes are wayyy too sensitive.. read more

Such a vibe! Had such a great time here last Sat night. Stopping in for one drink, ended up staying the whole night! Got to see 3 diff djs spinning. Place is beautiful, acoustics are excellent, waitresses are attentive, prices appropriate for an upscale Orlando lounge, and loved the crowd. Literally all ages & lots of fantastic outfits. I also loved that we were able to sit in a comfy couch for free without a reservation or vip access (no cover either!) read more
Finally, stopped in for my first time at Proper! This bar has it all for me. There are plenty of great cocktails to choose from and the music is always on point. Seating is plentiful and well laid out. I love a bar without any pinch points when you're trying to move past people. Proper is an excellent spot to stop in after work for cocktails, take a date or have a great night out with friends. The staff is always welcoming with their Orlando charm. Kyle is my favorite bartender, although it's hard to choose with such a well rounded staff! I can't wait to go back again soon, it's a proper good time :) read more

Always a good time, good music , great beautiful strong drinks! Love the Great Gatsby decor and vibes. No cover , never any long lines during the week or weekends! You can dress up or down. It's not just for lounging , there is dancing happening too lol read more
Overall, I was not pleased with this experience in relation to other bars in the area. The staff was extraordinarily pretentious and acted as if we were inconveniencing them. The DJ arrived as we were leaving which was unfortunate but the vibe just wasn't right. The mezcal was good but not worth the money. If you ever end up here, get a single drink off of the menu and head out. read more
Sophisticated, sexy, swanky. Those are the words that come to mind when I think of how to describe Proper. When I arrived on a Sunday at 2pm with no reservation I anticipated having to wait in a long line to gain entrance, but to my surprise, my boyfriend & I were the only ones there and practically got the whole joint to ourselves for the entire duration we were there. FYI: Although it shows on Google that they open at 1PM on Sundays, be advised that it may not be accurate (they really opened at 2PM and they told us they were testing out their hours), so it might be a good idea to double check first before making your way there. The ambiance inside is extremely aesthetically pleasing and will make you want to spend your entire evening chilling in one of their comfy plush chairs/couches sipping on one of their intricately crafted cocktails. What sets this spot apart from the rest is that they classify themselves as a "listening room" where they have hundreds of vinyls on hand they play, with the genres ranging based on what each DJ selects. So depending on when you visit, you might hear 80's rock one evening, hip hop the next and house on another. It definitely is a breath of fresh air to the downtown area and offers a unique, fun lounge experience that you really can't find anywhere else in the vicinity. I ordered an espresso martini and it was prepared just the way I like it: not too sweet and without baileys (if you prefer baileys I'm sure their be able to accommodate you). My boyfriend tried out the bonita applebum and enjoyed it (I tasted it and loved the touch of apple but it wasn't overwhelming). I had just come from brunch so I didn't have an appetite, but I noticed they offer "charcuterie boxes" so I'm going to make it a point to order it on my next visit. All in all Proper lived up to my expectations and I can't wait to return on a night where it's more lively! read more
If you're looking for a bar/lounge to go downtown, this is it. My girlfriend and I had brunch and wanted to do some Sunday funday so we decided to finally try our Proper and we weren't disappointed. We got there right when they opened up (it's 2pm not 1pm like it says on google) so luckily for us there was nobody there yet and could sit where we wanted. The staff was all very friendly and was quick to drop off menus and take our drink order. The server explained to us that it was a listening bar and that the DJ played all their music off of records which was pretty cool. It gave off a modern look with a speak easy vibe. They don't serve food and we didn't think to ask if we would be able to bring some in because we just ate before going. I ordered the Bonita Applebum and it was strong but very good. I would said It say it was close to tasting like an Old fashioned with apples and cinnamon. If you love to lounge around listening to good music and uniquely crated cocktails then Proper Orlando is the definitely your place. read more

I'm sooooo happy something like Proper is in downtown. I'm not a big club person anymore, so a swanky bar with great tunes and a place to hang with my friends is perfect for me. So incredibly excited that local legend Rene Nguyen of Hansons Shoe Repair is the man behind this new concept. The space is tastefully put together with a great color scheme, thoughtful details and I always love a lil patio or outdoor seating! The walls behind the DJ booth are filled with records and the little On Air light is a great touch. Obviously my favorite part was the bubbly yellow couches! We came on the Thursday before opening night as guests for media night and we had such a nice first hand look at Orlando's newest listening bar! Vinyl spinning DJs will be in rotation along with resident selector DJ Nigel John aka @blacksuede66 on Instagram. They feature different styles of cocktails but the tequila Espresso Martini on tap immediately caught my attention. I had the Garden Grove mocktail and the ginger syrup gave the perfect amount of kick! I'm interested in coming back on a weekend night when they've fully opened to see the whole effect! read more

Very chic modern bar lounge with a dj spinning authentic vinyl records. It is truly a site to see and experience. They have comfortable outdoor and indoor seating as well as 2 bars you can sit by. Full liquor bar offered. Public parking is small walk away if you cannot find street parking. read more

Swanky, sophisticated, luxe new bar located in Downtown Orlando! lol These craft cocktails are some of the best I had, and the ambiance is a refined mid-century modern setting. The bartenders were excellent in making great recommendations and even made me an off-menu item based off of my preferences. Highly recommend coming here for an evening filled with class & good records spinning in the background. read more
