SERVICE: 5 FOOD QUALITY: N/A DRINK QUALITY: 4 ORDER TIME: 5 AESTHETICS: 2 NOISE LEVEL: 4 MENU SELECTION: 5 OVERALL EXPERIENCE: 4.17 I love tiki bars so I had to give this place a try. The bar is right next to wills pub and isn't just a tiki bar, but a metal themed tiki bar. Upon entering you definitely get the dark tiki ambiance. Unfortunately the bar is a far from tiki themed and definitely metal themed. It's just an open setting with minimum seats and a tiki drink menu. The tenders are excellent and extremely friendly. The DJ plays the music a little too loud to hear yourself let alone anyone you're with (as advertised). Their menu is diverse and has lots of unique concoctions. You can definitely find something you will enjoy. Overall, this wasn't what I was expecting. Not to say it was a bad experience, but when I see the word tiki I have come to have my own personal expectation. The worst part of the experience, for me, is in order to get into the bar you have to shuffle through a large crowd of smokers which the smell also haunts the inside of the bar. If you're a non smoker, like myself, this will be part of the experience unfortunately.

Every detail, from the decor to the lighting, creates an immersive atmosphere that leave you in awe. As someone who actively seeks out tiki bars wherever I travel just so I can experience and review them, i can say they nailed the ambiance. The cocktails were well crafted but leaned much heavier on warm baking spices than my personal preference and I tried quite a few. I tend to prefer creamier, fruit forward tiki drinks with just ahint of spice, so while they werent my favorite style, thats a matter of taste rather than quality. The person i visited with loved their drink, which reinforces my previous comments. The real surprise of the evening was the food. it was outstanding, far better than i expected from a tiki lounge. The dish was flavorful, well prepared and easily worth the visit on its own. Overall, the experience delivered exactly what a great tiki bar should, an incredible atmosphere, quality drinks, and good food. Even though the cocktails werent perfectly suited to my palate, Id recommend stopping in if youre a fan of tiki culture.

I really wanted to like this place but it was a swing and a miss. Parking was easy during the Saturday afternoon we visited. On busier occasions, they do offer valet parking. Nearby businesses share parking so if it's a peak time, you may have to walk a little to the door. Not a long wait before we were seated. Spacious with tables and booth seating. There is a bar and televisions here. Our hostess was nice and offered insight into the menu. For the appetizers, we started with oysters Rockefeller, and fried gator tail. It's a red flag when places smother items in a sauce instead of letting it stand on it's own. No complaints on the oysters and the gator tail was given previously frozen vibes. For the entree, I got the shrimp po' boy. The bread was hearty and held onto the six lil shrimp that they felt were enough. When the ratio of shrimp, bread and topping aren't portioned right, you end up with gaps of the flavor when you're eating. What sent me is the shrimp weren't properly deveined. If you took a biology class, you know that black line running along the back is the shrimp's waste system. I'm not eating that. The hostess saw me just sitting there looking at my food and asked if I wanted something different. Hard pass. Even the waffle fries were bad. They weren't piping hot and dried out inside. I made due with the sweet tea which they did well with. The manager came by and offered to remake or replace my meal. I appreciate his efforts but I didn't want anything at that point. The bathrooms were clean. Nice enough people but the kitchen didn't get it right.

Every dish was flavorful, fresh, and you can tell there's real thought put into the food and presentation. It felt cozy, lively, and welcoming all at the same time. The drinks were beautifully made and paired perfectly with the food, and the staff and crowd made the space feel fun and relaxed. It's one of those places you randomly find and then immediately want to gatekeep (but also tell everyone about). Truly such a great experience from start to finish. Can't wait to go back!

The ambiance is about half of what this place is all about. It's very Trader Sam's, including a lot of neat Disney memorabilia on the shelves on the walls behind the bar. You can come and enjoy a nice drink without getting alcohol. We also ordered a burger from their limited food menu. It was very good. Not in competition for best burger in Orlando or anything, but the flavors were on point, and bun was nice and soft, and the furikake dusted crinkle cut fries were the perfect side item. Overall, this place was very cool, and if you haven't come here yet, you need to.

If you don't arrive early, you may be placed on a virtual waitlist, which can reach three or four hours. Once you're called, you have about 15 minutes to arrive before they move on to the next party. Wait times can be accurate--or wildly inaccurate--so it's best to stay nearby. The theming is fantastic, and the atmosphere is full of energy. Many of the special effects depend on the cast members interacting with guests, so visiting earlier in the day is a good idea while everyone is still at peak energy. The drinks are expensive, but they're tasty, strong by Disney standards, and absolutely Instagram-worthy. You can also purchase some excellent tiki mugs. The food menu is limited, but what we tried was good. Be aware that you'll probably share a table with another party, but that can make the experience even more fun. I always have a great time here, and my friends do too. The last time I visited, I ended up sharing a table with a witch doctor. We started talking about magic, exchanged spells and trinkets, and I gave him my lucky goat's eye. In return, he gave me a bone on a handmade vine necklace that had apparently been blessed by his chief. When I got home, I started hearing war drums. The next thing I knew, it was July 4th, and I woke up inside a Winnie the Pooh costume in the Magic Kingdom. I still have no idea what happened, but I'm fairly certain the necklace had something to do with it.

At the entrance to his cave, I had to disarm several traps, including floor spikes, poison darts, and a tablet demanding a 25% tip--with no obvious option to leave no tip. When I opened it, I found a shirt that read, "I'd Rather Be at Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar," along with flyers for the Halloween and Christmas events. That discovery led me to this wonderfully themed bar. This is a double review covering both the Halloween and Christmas events. These events used to be relatively easy to attend, but thanks to social media influencers, they have become extremely popular. The lines can get enormous, especially from Friday through Sunday. My advice is to visit Tuesday through Thursday and arrive early. The food was great, and the presentation--especially for the Halloween offerings--was fantastic and definitely Instagram-worthy. The specialty drinks were delicious and surprisingly strong for a Disney restaurant, although they do come with the expected Disney price tag. I've also visited when the bar wasn't decorated for a holiday, and it was still a great time. The regular food offerings are just as good, and the portions are fairly generous. The standard drinks are also perfectly enjoyable. If the weather isn't too hot, I recommend sitting outside by the lake. You'll have a beautiful view of the boats passing by, and the scenery around sunset is incredible. A fantastic spot for food, drinks, atmosphere, and the occasional archaeological revelation.
