This hidden Tiki bar is such an epic gem. The really cool theming, audio surprises, creative drinks, amazing bartenders and overall design is top notch. Our group tried many drinks and really loved the nonalcoholic "the cure" with Gin and Rum added. This drink has cinnamon undertone and bright citrus flavor. We also loved the Saturn that was off the menu. Parking is limited in front and reservations are recommended. If you want a little escape and some tasty libations, this spot is such a good choice.

Permanent Vacation is such an awesome Tiki Bar hidden inside of the Copper Rocket. The tiki vibes are absolutely AMAZING and beautiful, and the bartenders are so fun, friendly, passionate and knowledgeable about their tiki bartending skills. It kind of reminds me of Disney's Trader Sam's with all kinds of fun surprises. All the drinks we tried were really good, and the food was seriously DELICIOUS!!! I can't wait to go back again!!

Permanent Vacation. Such a clever, unique take on Tiki! A cozy spot with super eclectic decor, ultra inventive Tiki drinks and a great menu of food. The guys that work here are really fun and friendly. And they have a super solid rum collection available for sipping, to boot! I always go when I'm in Orlando!

Cool diff spot With a pirate tiki theme. We made reservations for this and I do see why. It's not very big. It's within another bar and it has its own door. Parking here is very much a pain so make sure to come early to find parking. It took a while in this busy parking area. Our drinks were ok and our app was meh, service pretty good. Seats are high and small And not comfortable at all. Glad I tried it. And saw it all. It's a cool experience for a Friday night and for my bday.

I am over the moon about how cool this tiki bar is! Its very small so its hard to get a reservation but its WELL worth it if you can get in. Tucked in the corner of a Steelers bar called the Copper Rocket the themed hidden door on the right hand side is both inviting and ominous. Once you step inside and are greeted by the enthusiastic hostess who walks you through the menu with tiny flashlights you step inside to what is by far the most incredible little hidden gem in all of Maitland. I was grinning from ear to ear as I soaked it all in. The drinks are inventive and the glasses themed to the drink. The food is great too! We tried the pizza and the coconut shrimp and both were amazing. Will get those again for sure. Certain drinks set off themed reactions from the staff and the decor alike. SO COOL. I cant wait to go back

Stopped in early to see if we could get a table for a date night without a reservation and we were in luck. We were seated right away and provided the regular menu and the Halloween menu. They had some extra decor our for the season and it was a lot of fun. I had 2 drinks - Bones of Neil (reg menu) and Grimm Gathering (Halloween). Both had a great balance of flavor and they do warn you that they are spirit forward drinks. We also got the cassava fries and flatbread to snack on. They were both good with my preference being the cassava. The flatbread said it was on Naan bread, but it did not seem like Naan to me - I still liked it. Great place for a fun evening. Do note that they keep table times so it won't take up your whole night out, but know that we did not feel rushed and had plenty of times for food and drinks. All of the servers were friendly and had a lot of knowledge with the drinks and menu.

I'm a tiki bar snob. What the heck does that mean? It means that when I go to a tiki bar, I'm not looking for a beach bar. If a bar's serving neon-colored candy cocktails built around Malibu and Captain Morgan, it might be a great hang--but it's not a tiki bar, it's a beach bar. Permanent Vacation is a capital-T Tiki Bar. The decor and theming is over the top, down to special effects that play when certain drinks are ordered. And the drinks--yes, they're often served in gimmicky mugs, but they aren't gimmicks. They're complex mixes with multiple spirits and housemade syrups. They use a few here that are really rare, like mamajuana (a sweet herbal mix with honey, rum and wine) and carypton (a boozier cousin of falernum). Across a few visits I've tried a fair number of drinks here; two from my last visit, the potent Powder Keg and the Pearl Diver riff Helldiver, were among my favorite. Also: the food's pretty good, too, with a lot of Polynesian riffs and occasional specials. They don't always have beignets, but I gotta say theirs were better than any I've gotten outside of New Orleans. One minor caveat: their drinks get expensive, even by current bar standards. $23 for a single cocktail, even one with as many ingredients as the Powder Keg, is steep. Permanent Vacation is a worthy visit, but like some other less interesting theme parks you may be familiar with in the area, the prices likely make it an occasional thing.

Great little bar hidden away inside the Copper Rocket. Strong drinks and eclectic setup complete with a tiki/hawaiian vibes, skulls, etc. it did feel like we were on an island. I had the passion fruit daiquiri which was a special, and the banana one which is on the regular menu. The bartender said it normally comes frozen but he could do it not frozen, I said that sounded good and that is the one I had and it was delicious. We also had the "where's Wilbur?" Flatbread with pulled pork, onions. My husband had the hotdog special and that was also tasty and a large hotdog. The only con is the space, seating is a bit tight and the bar stools are small. My friend commented half her bum was hanging off the seat the whole time. The bar stools also had no back support so after a while it gets uncomfortable. The seats inside the small "rooms" require 5 people minimum. I guess I need more friends to try them out!

Five stars every time in my book. Love the holiday menu this year. The holiday decorations look great. Drinks are always super creative. The staff is always fantastic, friendly and knowledgeable. My two drinks this time were the warm pineapple drink and the Coquito inspired drink. Both were so delish and I want to go back and have them again before the season is over.

Tiki drinks and tiki bars are my absolute favorite, and Permanent Vacation is truly the best of the best! The drinks are delicious and crafted perfectly every time. I love how the menu is laid out from non-alcoholic to super boozy; it makes it so easy to "order your speed" depending on the night. I am a huge fan of their Pain Reliever (honestly the best I've ever had), the Saturn, the Mai Tai, and the Zombie. They are all fantastic--you really can't go wrong with any of them! Plus, some drinks on the menu even come with fun special effects. The vibes here are top-tier. It's small and cozy with a perfect "speakeasy" feel that remains distinctively tiki. The "travel agents" (staff) are the best, too! We always have a blast chatting and chilling with them. Oh and make sure you check out all the decor! Now, let's talk food: If they have a special, order it! They are always FABULOUS. This time we enjoyed the Louie-Luau and the zesty sticks--both are absolute must-gets. All in all, you just can't go wrong here.

Talk about punch that packs a punch! We visited around Halloween and this little spot was destined to nightlight as a Halloween spot. The decor was fantastic! I haven't seen it seen without Halloween goodies but I loved the entire ambiance. We didn't try any food but their kitchen was definitely piping out the tasty treats to tables around us. As for the drinks, be still my heart! So many fun options - I wish we brought a DD! Their map and potency legend were very necessary because everything was deceptively yummy and strong. If you have the option to Uber, do it so you can try a few options!

    Painkiller, on fire!
    Eric G.

The idea of the tiki bar is to transport you to some dark tropical place, that is a little scary and a lot of fun - PV is that place. If you are lucky to find the entrance (it is a speakeasy), your are greeted by a a friendly guide who explains the story behind the drinks, hands you a treasure map and flashlight and sends u on your way. Inside the bar you find all sorts of oddities including shrunken heads, a tiki of Ku'u and two amazing bar tenders. I had a painkiller, which was excellent, and topped with something on fire. Wife had the fallen coconut which also was good. Bartenders were fun, explained all the drinks, and noted that all of the infusions, juices, etc were made in house (which you can see in the many fridges). As it was close to closing, we only got a couple drinks - we'll try the food next time. If you are in there long enough other crazy things happen in the bar - I won't ruin it for you.
