I took my mom here for a mommy and daughter date and we had the best time. The service from the staff was amazing. They recommended great dishes to us. We fell in love with the planting roll. Heads up, the DJ's music is kinda loud (only there on Saturdays) We could still hear each other talk though, that wasn't an issue. We were seated and I quickly started with a horchata which is sweet and such a large, tasty serving ($6) while others got a huge margarita and a old fashion which he stated was rocking. The mazunte roll had salmon, tuna and kraken salad atop it which was a bit chilled so it was surprising ($24). The bohemian had plantains, kraken salad and was also a large roll ($19). First off, this place is BEAUTIFUL! The decor is stunning and it's a complete vibe inside. We decided on Vida Cocina for a girls night on a Friday night. I tried to make a reservation but they only allow reservations for parties of six or more, little strange but ok. We got there a little before 7pm and it was packed! There were about 20 people waiting for tables, the entire inside was full and the outdoor patio area was also packed. We squeezed in at the bar and got a drink while we waited for our table. We were quoted 30 minutes for a table and ended up waiting closer to 45 but it wasn't a huge deal, we were in no rush. Once seated our server greeted us and let us know the menu could be found via QR code. Not sure if there is a physical menu available upon request but the milennial in me was kind of icked by only having a QR code and I didn't want to wait for our server to return to ask about a physical menu. Our server was nice, but kind of robotic, as most of the staff were, it was strange. No one was super friendly or welcoming, they were nice, it was just weird, seemed forced. Not sure if it was because it was so busy and everyone was stressed, maybe it's different when it's not so busy. We ordered food and drinks, I got the tamales and the passionfruit daiquiri. Both items were delicious! I loved the green sauce on my chicken tamale, if I were to order it again i'd ask for the green sauce on both tamales. It had a great tartness to it! My passionfruit daiquiri was sweet but not overpowering and just the fruitiness I was looking for. Some of the other items ordered at our table were the birria tacos, carne asada tacos (so tiny!) and the chimichanga (looked fire!). Everyone enjoyed their meals! With the exception of my tamales, everything was served on plastic trays that were covered to look like wood or marble. It was a little tacky, especially with how much detail was put into the decor of the place, they missed the mark on the plating portion. I get it though, those plastic platters are WAY lighter than real wood or marble and they don't break! There were a couple birthdays being celebrated and the restaurant did a really cute celebration. They brought out sparklers and a lit photo frame (think bottle parade vibes at a nightclub) that looked like a polaroid or Instagram photo for the birthday person to take a pic with. It's a fun pic and great advertising for the restaurant! I really enjoyed my food and drink and as mentioned above the decor was beautiful. I would love to return maybe during an off time to see a more relaxed vibe. I'm not sure if there is an "off" time for this venue though, we were discussing how Altamonte needed a place like this so it's likely it's ALWAYS busy! read more

We went with a baby and they had several high chairs available as well as a car seat holder. There were many other families with babies and also young couples and big parties. It's a great place for a date night or a group dinner. Our server Carlos was exceptional. He knew the menu well, was attentive and so kind. The trio appetizer is a must! The corn is delicious, the queso was great and the guac was really well made. My husband loved the salsa and he's critical when it comes to salsas. Decor is just gorgeous, both inside and out, and they have already decorated for Christmas.
