The Courtesy has been a local favorite/staple of mine for quite some time now. They have a really great curated menu that changes seasonally (as does the decor in the bar/lounge). They also have a staple menu if you are more of a "creature of habit" and like your tried-and-true favorites. Their food menu is not GRAND, but it does pack a nice punch if you are looking for a quick nibble to accompany your cocktail - which is REALLY the star of the show. Since the cocktail is one of the main highlights of the experience, the TRUE STARS are the bartenders who pour (literally and figuratively) their heart and soul into curating the bar menus to WOW your senses. Some of my favorite seasonal cocktail experiences are EASILY had at The Courtesy. And what really makes it a GEM is how much CARE is put into the details, not only into the menu, but also into the decor of the space. They know how to draw you in and keep you in. I love this specifically for their themed seasons which are Halloween and Christmas (miracle on orange). Drinks are so cute! It is always really busy during these 2 seasons but I think it's worth it. We love this cocktail bar! The ambiance and drinks are on point, and the service is pretty good too. I love the vibe and knowledge of the staff. They seem to put a lot of effort into their craft. If you can't find something on the menu you like, just give them an idea of what you're looking for, and they will curate a drink for you. I went for Happy Hour and it was my first time there. All of the bartenders are phenomenal and super fun and friendly. It wasn't very crowded when I was there which was nice. I started with the Espresso Martini one of my go to's. It was nice and frothy on the top and the right balance was drink and espresso. My second drink was the Amaretto Sour. Also, fresh and delicious and beautifully presented. I got the chips and dip and the crispy brussel sprouts. The onion dip was so good paired with the chips and the brussels were a good blend of sweet and tart and crispy. Both portions were large. The Courtesy is one of the oldest Instagramable bars in Orlando. It took me a while to finally go, but I did. It was a Friday around 6 p.m., and it was already packed. I was glad to see there was parking in the back when I arrived, always an important factor these days in Orlando, which keeps getting busier and busier. The bar has cozy lighting, and the Halloween décor was spectacular. Worth a visit to The Courtesy just for that. The bar specializes in cocktails, and their Halloween cocktail menu was long and creative. That said, since I wasn't really in the mood for a cocktail, I ordered a glass of white wine instead. The appetizers, however, aren't as inventive. We ordered curly fries, Brussels sprouts, and the smash burger. The latter was a bit of a disappointment: the patties were thin, overcooked, and almost tasted like a frozen burger. The other two were good, with the sprouts being my favorite. I plan to go back for one of their cocktails with those long descriptions; maybe I'll just pick the one with the longest description and see how it goes. read more

My book group came here during their Halloween-themed period and we had a great time. They must be doing something right here because there was a line forming outside before they opened! We all tried some of their Halloween-themed food and cocktails and everything was 10 out of 10. I do think the cocktails were a smidge overpriced in some cases, considering how the glass was 90% ice and 10% cocktail. That being said, good cocktails are always worth the money. The decor inside was maximalist Halloween fun and well done. It's so nice to see establishments really "get into it" instead of just tossing up some Spirit Halloween crap. This was my first visit here and I'm looking forward to coming back. Hopefully they do great themes for other holidays too. I absolutely love the pop-up events that happen during spooky season and the holidays! I've been to Miracle on Orange (their Christmas pop-up) before and had an amazing time, so I was really excited to finally experience Nightmare on Orange this year. The bar is completely transformed into a spooky empire with incredible themed decor and custom drinks to match the vibe. It can be tough to get in, so I highly recommend making a reservation. I booked one for my birthday with friends and the process was super easy. Once seated, we took our time going through the menu because everything sounded so creative and fun. The drinks are beautifully presented. They are spooky, detailed, and Instagram-worthy. The wait for our drinks was a bit long, but we were taking our time choosing, so it wasn't a big deal. The one downside: our server didn't seem very familiar with the drinks, which was surprising for such a small, specialty menu. My friend is vegan and double-checked before ordering. She told him the Bite of the Shinigami was safe, but it arrived with a donut on top and a creamy texture that turned out to contain egg. Definitely not vegan. The manager tried to fix it by saying we could just remove the donut, but another employee quickly corrected that. The manager did make things right in the end, but it was still disappointing for our friend. On the plus side, the drink was delicious, just not vegan-friendly. I ordered the Bernie Lomax Reviver. This drink was spooky, flavorful, and so fun! My friends tried the Phoenician Scream, which had a Ghostface-inspired look. We also did the Trick or Treat shots for my birthday and let's just say if you like Rumple Minze, you'll enjoy the "Trick." Personally, I was not a fan, but it lived up to its name! Overall, we had a great time. The atmosphere and decorations are amazing, and the drinks are unique and visually stunning. They are a bit pricey, but honestly, it's all about the experience. I'll definitely be back for Miracle on Orange this holiday season. I just hope next time the staff are a little more knowledgeable about the menu. After being told these were the best drinks in Orlando from my friend out of town, I decided to FINALLY make the trip over to the Courtesy for their Nightmare in Orange event! We were able to be sat right away at the bar on a Tuesday evening. The definitely went all out with the decor and ambiance- go figure why it's the best Halloween pop-up bar in Orlando. Our first drinks were the Bite of the Shinigami and Phoenician Scream. Cleverly themed, amazingly tasty. For the second, we decided on the milk punch option and oh my god??? BEST milk punch ever. I am a SUCKER for a good milk punch and their's hit the spot. Our service was amazing as well. Shout out to Tracy for bringing some amazing energy to the place. Made a reservation for a birthday event for my bestie because we wanted an atmospheric themed spot with fun drinks for Halloween festivities after we had dinner nearby. Another amazing year at Nightmare on Orange! The endless spooky vibes are immaculate as with every year. The staff themselves decorate the entire bar themselves and purchase all the drink ware cups. They also create the drinks themselves in a personal touch to each of them. Every drink is amazing you seriously cannot go wrong. All the food is made in partnership with Ravenous Pig and locally sourced so it is all amazing. Hooker gave us an run down of all the drinks and the inspirations behind them which made them all the better. Definitely ask about that when you're there as it's fascinating. I was absolutely blown away by these creative cocktails. Let me start at the beginning, we walked in and were immediately greeted. There was no wait so we sat down immediately at a table. There were two servers walking around to ask if we needed anything, which provided constant attention to our water and drinks. The Courtesy is an awesome spot hidden behind a few other gems in Winter Park. The space is quite small, but the ambiance is gigantic. We went on their first night of the holiday overlay and it was fantastic - probably over the top, but worth it. Not only do they have a solid decor package, but they also have themed drinks and a solid staff. The themed drink menu was small, but had a plethora of options. Unfortunately, I didn't 100% love my drink, but I'm not sure if that was the drink or the pairing with the food. Either way, I think it would be worthwhile to try again. For food, we absolutely loved the sprouts, they had so much flavor and were quite different than the normal presentation. Those will now be on the must-list for this spot. I also loved the burger; nothing too over the top, but the meat was good, the bread was excellent, and the sauce wasn't overpowering. For a small menu, my two items were beyond compare. read more
