Enticed by the all you can eat tacos, we decided to try this place on a Tuesday. It's close to our home and we wanted to switch up our night. We sat at the bar and the restaurant was pretty empty there was one other person at the bar and maybe 4-5 other parties sitting at the tables. It was around 5 so it was still early. I think the happy hour prices are pretty decent . I opted for the two Baja fish tacos for 8 dollars and they were decent. Not the best I've ever had but they were pretty good. My boyfriend had the all you can eat tacos and I had a bite of them and they were just okay . For all you can eat for 25 dollars he definitely got his money worth with quantity but quality wise it was just eh. The service was okay, a little lack luster with us having to get the attention on refills and more orders of tacos. Absolutely loved my experience! The food was excellent, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the service was outstanding. I especially want to highlight our server. What happened to this place? I have to agree with many of the other reviewers this restaurant has gone downhill fast. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and it appeared there were only two employees working the entire restaurant. I can't fault our server at all. He was constantly hustling bartending, greeting guests, seating customers, waiting tables, bussing tables, and serving food. Whether he was the manager or not, he was doing the work of several people. The staffing situation is a reflection of management, not the employees who were trying their best. Unfortunately, the food was just as disappointing as the service delays. We wanted the Rice Bacaditos with tuna, but despite the menu stating that sushi is available after 1:00 PM, and it being 1:45 PM, we were told it wasn't available. Everything we ordered either took an extremely long time to arrive or never came at all. When the food finally arrived, the steak tacos were overcooked, dry, and lacked flavor. Ambiance is nice in this little hidden gem adjacent to Lake Lily. Ordered three different appetizers to try and all were delicious. Fresh chips and queso with guac were perfection. Portions sizes were good, and service was great. Good menu options and would have given five stars but gave it four for pricing. Pricing seemed very inflated. Drinks were $16-$20. The food and presentation were excellent. We ordered the street corn, tuna taquitos, and several entrées, and everything was flavorful and beautifully plated. The service was attentive and friendly throughout our meal. The only area that fell a little short for me was the cocktail program. I ordered a classic Old Fashioned, and it arrived without the traditional orange peel or cherry garnish. The ice cube was also quite small and melted quickly, which watered down the drink faster than expected. This is the former Teak location, and the renovation is impressive. The space feels completely refreshed with a modern, jungle-inspired design. We sat for 15 minutes after being seated and the server walked by with a smile multiple times never once acknowledging us at all, not even to take a drink order or even a simple "Hello". Our group of 6 were seated right away and the waiter was ready to take our orders. However, it all went downhill from here. While we were ordering, we were told that we could only order one item at a time - either a taco or sushi. We were a bit confused by this but we went ahead and submitted our orders. This review is only for their $25 unlimited taco and sushi Tuesday deal. It is extremely overrated. I know for a fact that Selva Rosa has better food than what we were served during this AYCE. The tacos were pretty tiny, which I didn't mind because it's an AYCE so I could keep ordering. But the meat was really dry in them. The sushi was very basic (the salmon roll was a literal piece of salmon wrapped in rice with seaweed). This was probably some of the worst sushi I've eaten and it took AN HOUR to get to us. But I'll say it again, I know they have good sushi and tacos because I've experienced their food at an event before. Our server, Eric, was great and really on top of trying to get our orders in and out as quickly as possible. He asked the sushi bar about our sushi multiple times without us having to ask him. The only other good thing was the margaritas! $28 for a pitcher of passion fruit margarita that isn't watered down! I was decently tipsy hehe :) I know a $25 sushi and taco AYCE is a fantastic deal especially in this area, but at what cost? I think our first mistake was coming here on Cinco de Mayo and being able to get a table easily. It took over an hour to get our house margaritas, shouldn't those be house made? Then the food. Steak tacos had the skinniest most fatty pieces of steak. It was pathetic. My boyfriend said the enchiladas weren't bad but I think after waiting two hours for food we were just hungry. We didn't even get the sushi we ordered but at that point we just told the server to remove it from our bill. Also, anytime they made an announcement inside, the second it ended the music would blast full volume outside which was so awful. Decided to try out this spot despite not being able to make a reservation. Turns out, they have decided for now not to take reservations and there was plenty of seating available. The restaurant is super cute with lots beautiful decor and fun neon signs for photo opps. I will definitely make sure to look my best next time I come to take advantage of them, including the bathroom. The service was at times a bit slow and we probably waited at least 10 minutes for someone to come by our table to give us water and take our drink order despite it not being very busy. Fortunately, everything was worth the wait as the appetizers and drinks were great! We especially loved the margaritas, bao, and empanadas. The Rosa en Fuego dessert was super fun as they lit the sauce on fire and poured it on top but we thought the flavor wasn't great. I was really excited to visit Selva Rosa after seeing so many influencer posts and Instagram videos, so we decided to check it out on St. Patrick's Day during their event -- unfortunately, the experience fell pretty short for us. However, when more friends arrived and we asked to sit closer together, we were given mixed directions. One staff member told us to ask our server (who was very difficult to find throughout our visit), and when I spoke with the hostess, she initially said no despite several open tables that could accommodate our group. She mentioned they were reserved, even though we had been told reservations weren't being taken for the event. She said she would check with a manager and come back to us -- but never did. The all-you-can-eat taco setup was also confusing. You could only order one meat choice at a time, which wasn't clearly explained upfront. We were told early on that they were already out of mojitos and some sushi items, and that sushi orders would take quite a while. Unfortunately, the food itself was disappointing. The tacos arrived cold with minimal toppings, and you had to request basics like salsa and lime separately each time. The sushi, when it finally arrived, was underwhelming and tasted comparable to grocery store sushi. The margarita pitcher also tasted watered down. Service overall was extremely slow -- it took nearly an hour just to get our check and pay. It honestly felt like the restaurant wasn't prepared for the size or structure of the event they were hosting. I'm torn on this review because I've now been twice with two wildly varying experiences. The first time we went, we had some very good tacos, surprisingly decent sushi for a fusion restaurant, and some of the best beans I've ever had at a restaurant. Service was also really attentive and quick. I left telling my friends about this newer restaurant and happy for more choices in the area. Our second visit was last evening and it was easily one of the worst dining experience I've had in recent memory. If you're considering the Tuesday Taco/Sushi special I would steer clear. The great tacos and sushi we had on our first visit were not the food we were served. Tacos are tiny and dry. Sushi might be the worst I've ever had which was mostly rice. It took a literal hour to receive the sushi. It's clear to me that this restaurant is not set up for the AYCE experience because the service and kitchen cannot keep up. What was consistent across both visits was the ambience. Restaurant is very pretty, though it is very loud with a live DJ. The patio is huge and dog friendly nicely overlooking Lake Lily Park. Parking can be hit or miss, but keep in mind there is a free garage at the back of the property. I hope to give this restaurant another try, but not on Tuesday. It's an interesting choice by management to throw away the quality on a cheap AYCE experience, and I hope they reconsider the Tuesday special, potentially just selling the normal tacos and sushi at a discount. read more

He was attentive, communicated wait times clearly, and made sure we were taken care of throughout the night, which I appreciated on such a busy evening. The tacos were well seasoned but came off a little dry on the corn tortilla without much sauce, so I added queso and salsa on the side which helped. We came in for a work lunch and had a mixed experience. To preface, I know they just opened and they're probably still working out the kinks. The interior is beautiful. The bar area, bathroom, and seating was all very nice. We decided to sit on their patio since the weather was good and it was a lovely spot. Unfortunately, service was not good. They were not busy, but our wait times were still very long for each interaction with our waiter and waiting for our food. He had to retake our orders multiple times. When we ordered items like tacos, he didn't ask about shell/tortilla preference. When we ordered sweet tea, he did not let us know it was a berry hibiscus tea unlike the typical kind. While our waiter was polite, he was slow and disorganized. The food was okay. For appetizers, we got the queso and the jalapeño crab wontons. The wontons were weird and the whole pepper didn't work well. The queso was nice. We also shared a birria sushi roll. It wasn't bad, but we wouldn't order it again. When it came to entrees, they were out of ground beef and another item. I got the lunch pick two with a carnitas taco and a pulled chicken enchilada with rice and beans. Can't really review their food, because apparently no one there thinks an onion allergy is something to be concerned about it any way, despite being federally mandated to not expose people who suffer from them to anaphylaxis and serious personal harm. Here's a friendly tip: restauranteurs who care so little about customers they're willing to endanger their lives with food maybe shouldn't be in the restaurant business. Take a close look at the attached photo, and tell me you believe the person preparing that washes their hands during service. Selva Rosa does not care about that, and demonstrate it in both their tableside service and takeout options, which are equally abysmal. Calling what they served in this box "tacos" is an insult. I would feel so absolutely betrayed, had I eaten a bite and suffered from shortness of breath, dizziness, my entire body swelling, and passing out. It was not packed but as the evening progressed it got it busier and busier. The matcha and the sesame drinks were my favorite. Skip the old fashioned it was not great. Loved the decor The ribeye bravo was good. The tempura birria was dry and doused in mayo so it was not good. 2/2 review: As being someone who has worked in the restaurant industry, I personally think the whole restaurant is set up this way as a scam. They create this aesthetic looking spot and have this special "deal" to pull people in. Get a ton of influencers to come out and through the phone it looks alright so people want to come. You go in and it's packed so you think it must be great until you start ordering and realize what you're in for. I think they take so long on the sushi/seafood on purpose. They want you to get full on the cheaper stuff to make (tacos). It's easier to prepare, way less ingredients, and cheaper. If you fill up on tacos by the time your two sushi orders finally arrive you can't finish them and have to pay that extra five dollars per item. That way they make sure no one is ordering more than two sushi items each. You can only put two orders in at a time so everyone put their sushi orders in first then had to wait so long that they ended up letting everyone put as many taco orders as they wanted it. The system is set up this way on purpose. If you look the deal used to be $10 cheaper like a month ago and they raised it already. Literally in no world is it worth it. If you come during a normal day you can order the same amount of food for LESS! The only possible way you are making a deal of this is if you are eating some combination of 3 giant sushi rolls/ 3 orders of 3 tacos and no leftovers. Cherry on top is parking is terrible. Have to walk all the way down to the parking garage that has the tightest parking spaces and dog shit smeared all over the sidewalks. You can get a filling sushi roll, miso soup, and a small appetizer all for about the same price at KABOOKI! That's enough for you to realize NEVER TO COME TO THIS PLACE! If you want to get absolutely pissed off and robbed at a dining experience with friends, look no further than Selva Rosa! My friends and I dined in for TWO of our friends birthdays. Both them and the rest of our group were extremely upset and disappointed with our experience, and half of us ended the evening with stomach aches. Upon getting seated, our server David informed us that we're only allowed to order from the "unlimited tacos and sushi Tuesday menu." We were not aware of this, but took a look at the menu and figured we'd make do with the situation. The rules state that it's $34 per person, no sharing, $5 per plate you do not finish, and a 2 hour limit. David also informed us that SOME appetizers were available to order, but none containing seafood. To my knowledge, we weren't allowed to order any seafood appetizers, but allegedly it was told to others in my party that we COULD order it, it would just take upwards of an hour to come out. This made no sense to me, until it clicked.... Most of my group ordered tacos to start, which arrived within 5-10 minutes tops, but I personally only wanted and ordered sushi. Well, I didn't receive my two HAND ROLLS, mind you, for 45 minutes. This isn't exaggerating either, I took photo time stamps to prove it. Why offer tacos and sushi if you can only deliver on one of the products? If this is their scammy business plan tactic, it's working. Filling everyone up on tacos while they wait on their sushi and then can't finish their sushi, so then they get charged for it? Anyway.... While waiting for my first two hand rolls, I decided it would be a good idea to throw in the California roll I wanted, since that might take another 45 minutes (it ended up taking another 30.) The spicy tuna hand roll was not spicy whatsoever. I actually can't even guarantee it was tuna at this point. The krab avocado roll was the only decent thing I ate last night. No chopsticks or wasabi or ginger was provided-- we had to ask for that. The chili crunch salmon hand roll had no chili crunch, but it had crispy onions. That might be the crunch, but where's the chili? Matter of fact, where's the salmon? It looked like chicken tempura and tasted so off to me. David was lovely, and I genuinely hope he quits this job soon, because this establishment had him STRESSED. He ensured us that they were working on our sushi orders, but I was growing hangry and impatient as the time kept passing by. One of my only complaints on David is that he forgot the birthday girls root beer, and then once we reminded him of the root beer, he said the restaurant was out of it. Cool! The decor and vibe of this restaurant made it seem like it was a place meant for I-drive. An Instagram post-esque type of vibe. The type of place you go to just to take photos and have a cocktail, because you can't trust that the food is edible. Lesson learned. We also ordered two margarita pitchers-- one house and one passion fruit. We were almost charged a $4 up charge for the passion fruit flavor, when the menu says it's only a $1 upcharge. I then came to realize the prices were different only a month ago at this restaurant, thanks to photos on Yelp. It used to be $25 for all you can eat, and now it's $34. It used to be $4 flavor add for pitcher, and now it's listed as $1. Figure it out before overcharging people's cards. I flagged this to David and he took care of it immediately. With all of this being said, not one single manager came by to check in on us or ask us if we needed anything or how the experience was overall. This was not one but TWO of our friend's birthdays we were celebrating. I felt like we were being pranked. I'm genuinely angered that we were still charged FULL price, 20% gratuity was automatically added, and no apologies from management were received. I visited this restaurant again to try the unlimited tacos for $25 deal and experienced beyond questionable service. My friend and I arrived at 9p and were told the restaurant had stopped seating (they closed at 10p). We were bummed but under stood. My friend asked to use the restroom and I stayed behind at the door to wait. A couple came behind us and complained about the lack of communication about the seating policy and were permitted to sit. I asked the waitress about my friend and I since we were there first. She gave me a pained expression and told me to SNEAK to the bar for a seat as she sat the couple at a table. In confusion, I went to the bar and reviewed the $25 menu. As I looked, the bartender took menu and stated they stopped that deal and handed me a regular menu. Once my friend came back from the restroom, we decided to leave and go to another restaurant. As we left, I noticed that the couple that came behind us was ordering from the $25 menu. I understand it was a busy night but the impropriety in service was completely unacceptable. I'm not one to make a scene in public places, but maybe that's what I needed to do to get equal treatment at this establishment. Needless to say that was pretty disappointing but the restaurant was beautiful and the ambiance was lively so we decided to stay. We were seated by the very kind hostess but eventually got up to sit at the bar due to slow service. The menu had an impressive variety of dishes and we were able to order a $20 margarita pitcher which we really enjoyed. For our starter we opted for the lobster flautas which unfortunately neither of us enjoyed. The idea was there but the flavor just wasn't good in our opinion. For the entrees my partner chose the birria tacos and I had the carnitas, both came with Spanish rice and refried beans. Mine was just okay, pretty bland and I ended up taking it to go but eventually just tossed it. The birria was better but certainly nothing to rave about. Overall, would I return? So, how the Taco Tuesday works is, everyone at your table must participate and you can order one round of tacos and one round of sushi, per person, at a time. My husband and I shared and were able to try multiple of each. The sushi is a basic roll, but just as it is stated. My favorites were the shrimp tempura and spicy tuna. St Patrick's day fell on a Tuesday so I was finally able to check out their taco Tuesday that I've heard so much about. You ca get unlimited tacos and sushi for $25 for 2 hours & they also have drink specials. I was sad they didn't have any mojitos that day and they were also out of the eel sushi roll. You start with one sushi and one taco flavor each. Each taco flavor comes with 3 tacos & sushi comes with 8 pieces. I tried the Carne Asada & the Al Pastor tacos and the shrimp tempura and the California rolls. I had only 1 drink which was the Casa Jaguar and I added a flavor of passion fruit. Everything was good I just wished the tacos had some kind of sauce because the corn tortillas are quite dry. My sushi was excellent but I did ask for a side of spicy mayo for my Cali roll. The service is pretty quick in between each order and the waiter does a good job of checking in. I ended my meal with a horchata coffee and it was sweet and delicious. The rule for the taco Tuesday is no to go containers , The whole table must participate & any leftovers are $5 . Gratuity is already included. There is both inside and outside seating. Courtesy valet is available as well. Vibe is a ten upon walking in! Hostess is very sweet, we were seated right away. The aesthetic is open, trendy, modern, photo ops thru & thru. Ryan was our server and he was amazing!! We opted for the Taquitos app. The chuletas lujosa for dinner and hamachi verde. Cocktail choices had good mixology, well balanced and tasty. Great date night place. You can dress up or be casual. Great girls night out vibe as well! Looks like they may have a dj as there was equipment. No HH yet as it's new. Can't wait to go back. Had a great visit to this restaurant that is half Asian and half Mexican. The sushi roll was absolutely delicious and it's a different concept to have sushi and traditional Mexican food on the same menu. The steak and shrimp fajitas came out sizzling and were very tasty. They also give you a really large portion. The tacos were excellent and packed with flavor. The queso was absolutely delicious . It was the perfect combination of cheese and seasoning and the chips were freshly made and fabulous. The espresso martini was one of the best I've ever had anywhere. Of course the margaritas were good. They have a full bar and a huge selection of beers on tap. The restaurant was very clean and had an upbeat and energetic vibe. They had a lot of different areas that would be really cute for photo opportunities. The service from the bartender was awesome. He was attentive and spot on with his recommendations. There wasn't anything here that we didn't like! I definitely will return to try more and I do recommend this restaurant. read more

Beautiful restaurant with lots of seating indoor and outdoors. Service from Stephan was GREAT. I would not consider this Mexican food as opposed to others in the area but they make up for that in other aspects. Great place for brunch, dinner with friends. I would be back. read more

The food was good. We got a burrito and a sushi and bother were tasty. I feel the bad reviews were only from that AYCE event and l feel those reviews' complains were pretty ridiculous tbh. When we went, it was fairly empty. The waitress was very nice. The decor is nice. In general, this is a decent restaurant. read more

Tried Selva Rosa and it was amazing! The birria sushi was incredible and came with a rich consomé for dipping that made it even better. The hamachi verde was super fresh, and the matcha mojito was such a refreshing, unique drink. Everything was delicious definitely coming back! read more

Loved my nigiri and sumo dorado drink. The drink was complex and well balanced and the nigiri was fresh and flavorful. My husband's 1/2 chicken was pretty flavorful too. Mine was good but not outstanding, it was a standard dish. Ambience was nice and has a lot of cute details. Service was good but to are the end the waiter went missing so we decided against dessert. Overall great experience, would go back mostly for drinks and sushi. read more

Soft openings are a tough time to judge a restaurant, but I do fully believe if you are not ready to open you should wait. Service: We arrived and there was a 30 minute wait - typically a good sign. Upon sitting down things took a turn for the worst. It was ~10 minutes until a waiter came to greet us. We ordered immediately and the food took over an hour to arrive at our table. Food: Once food did arrive dishes that should be hot were tepid at best and came out of order. The nori chips that accompany the guac were chewy and the trufa salvaje both lacked serranos and had questionable tuna quality. The Sake (salmon) nigiri was not enjoyable - this was a step down from Whole Foods sushi. The enrolladas verdes were also cold upon arrival and lacked flavor. Ambiance: For a happy hour this may be lively but for dinner it felt chaotic. The identity was somewhere lost between a place wanting to be a club and somewhere struggling to find their culinary identity. Proceed with caution. After months of anticipating this restaurant opening I really wanted to like it. Such a cool concept but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. read more
