I came here for a Sunday brunch and had a nice experience. Definitely make a reservation, and know it's fully automated through an answering service which is interesting. For the brunch it's $50 including drinks, a hot/cold buffet, and a few items to be ordered off the menu. Overall, the service was wonderful and attentive, but the food just didn't impress me for the price. Granted, a decent portion must be to account for the endless mimosas :) I liked the sausage and gravy the most even though it's simple, and of course the crab legs. I also recommend trying the steak and avocado toast! Everything else though tasted good like eggs, hash browns, Mac n cheese, but like I said, it was just a little plain for the price. 5 Stars for a long-standing spot in Ivanhoe (on Virginia) that's perfect for brunch, lunch, or dinner! First off, Santiago's benefitted from a gorgeous spring day so we sat outside on their front patio. It was lunchtime so we ordered a bunch of tapas dishes. I also went in recently for dinner and had just as good an experience! I recommend the Patatas Bravas (pan-fried potatoes in a spicy tomato sauce) which definitely have a kick, and the Bread Pudding. It's baked with fresh croissants and drizzled with a caramel bourbon glaze then finished with a scoop of English custard ice cream (from local Ice creamer, Lulu's) and fresh blueberries. Holy Moley. This bread pudding (which I've been hearing about since Santiago's opened) is AMAZING! I may go back just for a quick glass on wine and desert soon just to taste it again. We made reservations at Santiago's Bodega for a light dinner before seeing A Christmas Carol at Orlando Shakes, just a few blocks away. Parking can definitely be a challenge; there's only a small lot in the back, and most of the rest is street parking, which gets crowded with all the nearby businesses and neighborhoods. The atmosphere is really cool: Spanish-themed, intimate, lively, and perfect for tapas. They also have outdoor seating, which is a nice option if you want to sit outside. Happy hour deals and wine discounts are great; we had a South African Pinotage at a very reasonable price, and it was even discounted. Food-wise, it was a mix of highs and lows. The wedge salad was disappointing. The dressing was runny, pooled at the bottom of the plate, and didn't have much flavor. On the other hand, the Shrimp and Chorizo skewers were delicious and perfectly cooked, and the Dates stuffed with goat cheese and wrapped in prosciutto were amazing; I loved the sweet and salty combination. The Chicken Skewers with olive oil, lemon zest, rosemary, and lemon-tarragon sauce were fine, but the chicken itself was a little dry and not very memorable. The Trio--traditional hummus, roasted red pepper hummus, and black olive tapenade with pita bread, was simple but good. Okay, I've now been here for happy hour, brunch, dinner and lunch and I am a fan! My absolute most favorite thing on the menu hands down is the rosemary chicken. I've ordered it almost every time I've eaten here and it is consistently delicious! The Sunday brunch is well worth the price although back in the day it used to include crab legs which I DEVOURED but their shrimp is equally good and unlimited mimosas?? Yes, please! The best part about the brunch is that they bring the food to you. Our server was incredible when we went and the service was efficient. I will be returning again in the near future. I've been here a handful of times over the years with friends. I love the front patio offering great "main street" vibes with umbrellas for shade. Inside boasts both high tops for small and large parties near the bar and regular low tables in the other room. The bar has open seating. Reservations are a must, unless you are hitting it earlier in the week. This place is popular! Martini Monday and Happy Hour made my last visit a hit. We both had recommended martinis and shared the fried gnocchi and boa buns. We wouldn't suggest the gnocchi, felt overcooked and the little drizzle of aoili was its saving grace and wish we had more of it. A friend of mine was in from upstate New York and this is one of her favorite places to visit when she is back in town. We sat at the bar and were welcomed by Karen, whom my friend knew by name. My friend introduced me to Saganaki (Greek haloumi cheese, olive oil, oregano and flambeed brandy, served with pita bread). The presentation itself is impressive as it is lit on fire when served. The taste is fantastic; I would definitely try this again! She also ordered the Yellowfin Tuna Ceviche which was also nicely presented. I tried some of it and it was quite tasty. I ordered a cup of the French Onion Soup since it was a cool afternoon. I had it previously and enjoyed it immensely; this time was no different. I also selected the Roman meatballs served with angel hair pasta and marinara. Not sure I would order it again as it lacked sufficient marinara sauce and was somewhat bland. The only issue I had with the afternoon visit was the temperature in the bar area. It was maybe mid-60's that day and windy. The windows of the bar area were open. In addition, a fan was blowing in the opposite corner which made the room feel even colder. I went to the restroom halfway through the meal and when I came out, I felt warm air by the hostess desk. I asked the young lady where the heat was coming front, and she pointed to the heater in the corner. Even she was cold in this establishment given she was right at the open front door. I'm a bit late but I still wanted to write a review about the great experience I had here on Valentine's day with my wife. We got the 50 dollar a person brunch special they have on weekends and ended up loving it. Super nice atmosphere with very friendly and professional waiters and waitresses. The food was phenomenal. Everything I grabbed was well seasoned and delicious. What surprised me the most was the eggs. It's a self serve brunch and 99 percent of the time when you grab eggs from those metal containers you know they are going to be bland as heck, but these were far from that. Seasoned well and cooked perfectly. Candied bacon was so good I think it deserves its own shout too. Wife and I went with delicious fresh OJ mimosas and man were they not stingy at all with champagne, which of course is appreciated for obvious reasons. All in all it was great. Love a late night Happy Hour - and Santiago's has it. My party had several different individual apps that lacked flavor for the most part. We tried their chicken lettuce wraps and they were lacking. Expected chicken cubes whereas they provided ground chicken. If you're like me and enjoy salt the edamame lacked in that department - could have used some more flavor. Same with the shisito peppers that are NOT stuffed - they sprinkled it with a little seasoning but also not enough. Good happy hour prices for the area an le the 2 happy hour time periods from 3-6pm and 11pm-1am! Their HH food items vary.
