Crab cakes that were actually mostly crab and served with the perfect sauce combination. Cons: The only con was the service. Our server was the kind of person who just maybe got way too distracted by things. We came here one night for a nice dinner. We got a nice dinner. The ambiance is picture perfect, like a movie scene. Dim lighting, dark wooden tables, just really comfortable. The food was also great. We started off with the Sourdough Flatbread (mushroom, ham, fig, goat cheese), and honestly, this might have been the best flatbread I've ever had in my life. It was a great size, has a hearty crust for good handling, and the toppings are just magnificent in quantity And quality. Just wow. Delicious. For my main, I had the Crab Cakes (citrus beurre blanc, tomato-smoked pepper jam, fries). Again, dynamite dish. Lots of crab in those cakes, a creamy, acidic sauce as a nice foil to the crab, and then a nice little pop of that smoked pepper jam to really make the dish interesting with every bite. So good. I also got to try a nightly special they had, a Lamb Tenderloin. Perfectly medium rare, a nice rice side, just done really well. We finished off with probably the best part of the night, the Skillet Brownie (salted caramel, vanilla soft serve). Insane. Ooey and gooey, warm and chocolatey, with a hint of salty caramel. With that dollop of vanilla ice cream just melting away on top, it was the perfect dessert. What really set back this visit was the service. Our server was just awful, I'm sorry. I'm not saying she was an awful person. She was a lovely person, but restaurant service is probably just not the job for her. I won't go any farther. I have been to Luke's many times but tonight's dinner was one of the best. The crab cakes are seriously the best I've ever had and I'm a Florida native. All meat, no filler with a citrus beurre blanc I could drink. My friend had the NY strip and she raved about it too. We sat at the bar and our service was outstanding as usual. My wife and I have visited Luke's a number of times over the years and have enjoyed our time due to the food, service, and the atmosphere. We met a friend for lunch recently and chose the "Lunchbox", that comes with small-sized soup, salad, chips, and a choice of chicken tacos, yellowfin tuna on toast, or Chef's choice vegetables. (Think Bento box). What a pleasant surprise! But wait! There's more! Coffee or tea and gelato or ice cream, are also included. Definitely a fun lunch deal! My wife raved about the flavor of the chicken in her tacos. The soup and salad packed flavor for their size. My yellowfin tuna was okay. The mango gelato? Fresh, and the perfect way to end the meal. It's been a long time since I have eaten there, so I had to visit again when I received a promotion for twenty dollars off. I made a reservation for a Saturday evening on Resy in advance. Since valet parking is free, I took advantage of it and headed straight to check in. I was greeted immediately and sent to the table where I could watch the open kitchen. I was told most of the drinks were strong, so I tried the mezcal drink (14 dollars). I forgot the name, but it was smoky, herbal, and lightly boozy. It was such a nice sipping drink. I was very happy that my server was very honest in mentioning the salmon was farmed raised, so I decided to go with the airline chicken instead (26 dollars). Before I was given my chicken, the chef near my table gave me a complimentary hors D'oeuvre. It looked to be a small wonton bowls filled with ahi tuna with some guac topping I think. Whatever it was, I was in heaven. It was fresh and flavorful, making my taste buds happy. When the chicken arrived, it came mostly deboned. It was tender enough, but could have been a little more juicy. It could been a bit more seasoned as well since I tasted mostly chicken without any other flavors. The vegetables, however, were far better as the potatoes were roasted and seasoned perfectly. I thought there would be mostly grilled vegetables, but the potatoes overtook them. The other vegetables were still amazing. I wish there was more of the green salsa, but it was thin. It did, however, added the kick and flavor to the chicken. It was still a very enjoyable entree. For dessert, they handed a separate menu, and I had to do the creme brulee (11 dollars). It was quite generous, but still light enough to finish. The crust was crispy without being too powerful, and the vanilla specks just made the flavor perfect. The service was excellent and professional. When it was time to pay, I showed the email to my server, who got the manager to verify. The manager immediately checked and gave me the twenty dollars off, making the total price before tips about 33 dollars after tax. It was a great deal. Both the manager and server checked up with me on the dinner and were very friendly. The atmosphere is upscale, but t-shirt and jeans are still welcome here. I love the open kitchen, and you are welcome to talk to the chefs. I am so happy I visited Luke's again after a long time. I loved their sister restaurant, Lumas, and was sad they closed a while back ago. While Luke's can be a bit pricey, they still have some items at reasonable prices (like the chicken, burgers, and sandwiches). Plus, if you sign up for their email, you can get promotions as well. Yum! I stopped in this weekend to enjoy a meal with my family and I was very impressed. The atmosphere is wonderful. It's perfect for groups - they had many tables ready for larger settings. However, the dim lighting also made it seem like a great date night stop. To start we all decided that dips were the way to go. We tried the chips and dip as well as the fondue. The chips and dip were definitely freshly made - nice potato chips with a BLT and onion dip. To die for! The fondue was perfect for the seafood lovers at the table and served with what seemed to be pita chips - some of the best I've had. Most of my group tried fish entrees. Back again approximately 1 year later. This time we went mid summer to use their $20 off promo. Unfortunately they did not have the amazing cilantro mussels and deviled eggs. We did try the Cubano sliders though which were delicious! We also had the fontina/basil/tomato flatbread, this was flavorful but I do think it could have benefitted from a bit more tomato sauce. My wife and brother in law had the steak sandwiches, and they enjoyed them. I had the ginger soy salmon which was perfectly grilled. The ponzu cucumber salad that comes with the salmon was a generous portion so if you are planning to add a vegetable side you may need to share the side. That's what I did with the broccolini. I think the broccolini should have been a little more charred and a little more of the chili vinaigrette... more chili less vinegar. My ten year old enjoyed the cheeseburger plain and my 14 year old enjoyed the lobster frites but would have rather had the Cuban sliders as an entree. He's not wrong they were that good. Weather was beautiful outside, so we asked to sit on the patio. Very clean, free of leaves and debris. Fans were on, plants were nice and the tables were clean. Great environment out there! Slid in just in time for some happy hour specials, which are a couple dollars per some apps and drinks. The wings were excellent. So fresh, hot and crispy. Must try! Luke's has warm and inviting atmosphere, with a modern flare. Comfortable.... We were seated outside and enjoyed the mild Florida evening. The food was phenomenal. We started with the oysters on the half shell and the yellow fin tuna tartar. The tuna was flavorful with the perfect blend of spice and sweetness with a hint of mint. Oysters....I love em but they are oysters...lol. Entrée were the pork chop, New York strip and I had the Filet Mignon. The meats were perfectly cooked to order with excellent seasonings and sides. There is nothing I enjoy more than a fresh made Bernaise sauce. The service was a little lacking. It started with asking for an ice tea no lemon and receiving ice tea with a lemon....not a huge deal but obviously the waiter was not listening... Appetizers arrived with oysters first, then 7 or 8 minutes later the tartar....again, not a huge deal but why not bring them together? Apps cleared away....then came the entrée. Once again.... The pork chop showed up alone... Then 3-4 minutes later my filet.... 5-6 minutes later the NY steak.... Not sure if the kitchen was having timing issues or what but we waited until all the dishes arrived before eating to be polite. The service was spotty at best and a bit of a disappointment when you are eating at an upscale restaurant. About halfway through our meal, we began to feel rushed. The staff asked to clear plates while we were still eating from said plates, a dessert menu arrived while half of our party was still on their entrées, and the check was presented before we had even finished dessert. In fact, we were going to order more drinks. We were at the restaurant for only about 90 minutes for a three-course meal, ordered promptly, and were mindful not to overstay our welcome. The food was enjoyable, but the service lacked the hospitality you expect from a restaurant at this level. Instead of feeling welcomed to enjoy the evening with friends, we felt like the table was being turned as quickly as possible. It's made with crispy leek, chives, and truffle and OMG I could eat it every day... probably one of the best soups I've ever had. I would legit sell a kidney to get my hands on this recipe (lol). However, the food was only fair and Luke's did not have changing tables in the bathrooms. We get it's a tavern with a FL vibe but it's also a restaurant and families have kids. I could have taken my baby out to the car but it was with the valet service. Luke's doesn't make it easy to self park because as you pull in, the valet is right there causing backup traffic if you wanted to attempt self parking. This caused a large headache, an unhappy baby, and an overall bad experience. Please consider adding changing tables in the bathrooms since there isn't a designated ladies room at the restaurant. I can't recommend Luke's as I don't want other families to be put in this situation. read more
