We had to try a couple things because the menu is HUGE, and everything was so good! I took a picture of the seared tuna snack and then devoured the rest before there was any record of its existence. The Thai Basil Style fried rice was SO GOOD! Perfectly seasoned and fragrant. We also got the spicy yellowtail roll and the wings and I would 100% recommend all of it. For drinks, my partner got the bloody mary and I got the cucumber cloud (sub gin) and they were both delicious. Service was top notch, and they were super attentive to our large party. We were looking for a place that was open and within walking distance after checking out the lights around Lake Eola. When you walk in, there is a bar to the left, seating on the right and seating on an outside patio. The dining area inside has a nice view of the lake and currently, the Christmas lights as well. The interior was decorated for the holidays which was a nice touch. Our group of 6 was promptly seated and we placed orders shortly afterwards. I ordered an espresso martini that was pretty strong, which I liked. The price was fairly reasonable at $14. For dinner, I ordered the House Salad with added chicken and onions. The cost was $18 ($12 for the salad plus $6 for the grilled chicken). Blue cheese was not listed as an option for dressing but they had it. The salad had fresh crisp greens and a generous amount of chicken. It did not have cheese which would've been nice. Also, it was supposed to have bacon but I didn't see any. I also ordered a miso soup for $3. It didn't have tofu and had a ton of green onions. I liked the taste regardless and would get it again. There were several items out of stock so others ordered the house Salad as well. A couple of them ordered sushi and seemed to enjoy it. We've been to Osphere Grill and Bar many times before without issues, but this visit was unacceptable. Parking was fine and the atmosphere inside was cozy, but the problems outweighed any positives. The sweet tea I ordered smelled and tasted awful--like sewer water from bad plumbing. Later, while sitting with my family, a cockroach crawled so close to my daughter's hair that we jumped up in shock. We showed the owner, who admitted there was a problem but asked us not to post about it online. Between the undrinkable tea and seeing roaches in broad daylight, I couldn't enjoy the food at all and left feeling uneasy about the cleanliness. This review is for you--because if I had read it beforehand, I would have wanted to know. Sadly, despite past good experiences, I won't be returning. read more

Visited unintentionally as i needed shelter during a terrible downpour.. it ended up being a great spot to ride the storm. I enjoyed the outdoor patio, ordered a glass of Chardonnay (generous pour) and an amazing ahi tuna salad.. the salad was outstanding- it had beets, avocado, mango, shaved brussels & kale... the tuna was nicely seared, had a bit of seasoning and a delicious dressing. Probably the best salad i've had in a while... I did knock off one star because the service was quite slow.. i felt ignored for a while, struggled to get a glass of water, took a while for my order to be taken, i finished and it was a bit challenging to get the bill... i do recommend & would visit again! read more

I really try to avoid giving such low reviews, but unfortunately there was nothing redeeming about my experience at Osphere. We came in for dinner. The layout of the restaurant is odd, but the view of Lake Eola drew us in. Service was absolutely horrible. We put in an order for two sushi rolls. The salmon avocado roll and the cherry blossom roll. The salmon avocado roll came out quickly. We waited forever for the cherry blossom. When our waitress came to check on us, we let her know we were still waiting on a roll. She seemed surprised. We overheard her discussing the confusion with another member of staff. They proceeded to bring out another salmon avocado roll that we did not order. She came back to the table to ask what I had ordered. I told her twice and then she made me point to it on the menu. They did not write down orders or print tickets it seems. She was very rude about the whole thing. She apologized, but had a very off putting attitude. They were not busy at all which was even more frustrating since we had such a simple order. Eventually I got my cherry blossom roll. The food was gross and the portion was so small for the price. The rice was too sour like they used too much rice wine vinegar and it was overcooked. The fish was not fresh and everything was bland. For $17 I can get a stunning roll just down the street at Totoya. This was snack sized with not nearly enough fish for the price tag. After our disappointing meal, I went to the bathroom. The entire toilet in the stall I went in was unglued from the ground and slid sideways when I tried to sit on it. The seat was also askew. Their paper towel machines didn't work and they just had a bottle of soap sitting in the sink. Overall, the food was unappetizing and overpriced. There are far better options just down the block. Service was incompetent and rude. The restaurant itself was odd and poorly maintained. I will not be coming back. read more

Well, usually I try to give as much information as possible in these reviews, but not this time, unfortunately. It's not our first time here, we stop in every now and then, enjoy some food and the scenery. Today we stopped in for just that, but it didn't work out. We came in, talked to the host, got seated at a nice table outside and were enjoying the weather. After awhile, we realized nobody was coming to check on us. Two employees walked by to clear tables around us, and nobody even looked at us, offered us water, said someone will be with us. Just, ignored us. So we sat there for over 10 minutes, nothing but menus in front of us, at that point we aren't going to beg for service, so we just left. It was very disappointing. read more

Osphere in downtown Orlando is a cute spot that great for brunch. I went on a Sunday for a nice cute meal. The inside is well decorated and has plenty of space with views of Lake Eola. There was a DJ playing different genres of music and fortunately the music was too loud. Our server was really nice and gave us plenty of time to look at the menu. I ordered a mimosa with just the right balance of champagne and pineapple juice. For my entree, I ordered the blue crab Benedict which was good but the garlic definitely overpowered the crab cake. Parking can sometimes be a concern in downtown Orlando, but we lucked out with street parking right in front of the restaurant. If that hadn't worked out, there's a parking garage just around the corner, which is convenient. Since the weather was perfect, we opted for outdoor seating, which made for a lovely atmosphere. I started with a lemon drop martini, which was refreshing. We shared buffalo wings, which were just okay, along with loaded nachos. My friend ordered the shrimp tempura. The food overall was decent--nothing extraordinary, but good for the price, especially during Happy Hour. We chose the Bite 30 menu at Osphere tonight and were so pleased with every selection made. Our server Ricardo was flawless and each course came out on time. We both selected the Shrimp Wedge Salad as our first course, muah!!! Excellent!! I chose the grilled salmon which I requested lightly seared. To my delight they prepared exactly as I asked. It melted in my mouth as did my son's ribeye. The key lime pie we both opted for as our last course was scrumptious as well. Went to Osphere for a friend's birthday brunch on a sunday. Music was loud, lots of people there for bottomless mimosas. The restaurant had a sort of fishy smell which was very off putting. Probably wouldn't want to order raw sushi. There was quite a few of us so they split us all amongst two big tables. The waiter did the best they could to gather all of us up to order. No complaints there. I had worked out that morning and didn't have much after since we were going to brunch so I was starving when I ordered. Ended up choosing chicken and waffles which turned out underwhelming. The chicken wasn't bad at all but the waffle was the worst I ever had. I don't know what happened to the batter but it turned out so dry and tough. Since I was starving, I ate what I could to be content but man, probably won't ever come back. read more

Eggs Benedict was perfectly poached and comes with large potato pieces that have a pimento drizzle. My friend had chicken & waffles and her chicken was perfect. Her chicken had a crispy coating and wasn't greasy. The bottomless mimosas kept coming. We had the best wait staff, Sierra! Attentive, and always made sure we were doing well. The drinks that we had were subpar, but it was only because me and my brother both thought that it had a little too much bitters in it, but that was my only complaint for the whole evening! I had the worst interaction with a GM EVER at this location... after realizing I was incorrectly charged on my bill (they added a $35 tip to my card when it was on my friend's bill) I attempted to reach out to three different managers about the issue, leaving my information each time, and no one called me back. On the third attempt. I asked for the GM, Denise, who happened to finally be there when I called. I re-explained the situation, and she said she wanted to simply refund me the tip. I asked her once again to please look at the signed slip to make sure it was charged correctly, because I couldn't recall how much I should have split with my friend on the bill, and also didn't wish to get refunded, just charged correctly. She then proceeded to raise her voice. Accusing me I wanted a free meal, that I should just "work it out" with my friend... "aren't you guys friend?! Can't you guys figure it out?!", then accused me of not speaking up sooner "why didn't you say something that day if you're bill was wrong?" When it was after they closed out the check days later, and added the tip, I realized it was incorrect. I told her this is NOT how you run a business and it's not MY responsibility to make sure your staff charged people correctly. They need to correct the mistake. She eventually found my check, confirmed that it was charged incorrectly, apologized, and offered to return the tip for the inconvenience. I agreed, and thought that was the end of it. Still to this day - a month later, I've yet to received a refund. But what should stand out is the LACK of professionalism and LACK of urgency to address an issue where a guest was charged incorrectly. As a prior bartender at many restaurants, this was always prioritized and escalated, and the burden was never on the guest to correct the issue. Or - accuse the guest before looking into it and confirming an error occurred within the restaurant. Will not be returning due to this exchange. read more

Happy hour specials are amazing!! The food especially - sushi, flatbreads, nachos and more for $5-10. Beer and wine are around $5, and cocktails around $6. Cocktails are veryy sweet, I wish I had just gotta some white wine with my pizza and sushi! The bar is set up inefficiently, with all the alcohol on one end and the glasses/garnishes all the way at the other which is so odd to see, but not a problem as long as it's not crowded. They are very generous with bottomless mimosa later at brunch from what I remember in my younger days It gets very buggy outside in the summer which is sad because it's an amazing view of lake eola. We had a private area with a couple servers so the service was generally good (with one exception that one of our dinners came at least 10 mins after the rest, but that's not their fault). The food is not that great. The flatbread was undercooked and tasteless. The Asian salad with beet, mango, avocado on the side of salty noodles. We came for Bite30 late on a Sunday so it was mostly empty. We sat with a great view of the fountain and our server has us order each course one at a time so that it didn't all come out at once. The cocktails were strong and tasty. The calamari was on the smaller side but had bigger pieces of calamari itself and the seasoning and sauce were great. The meatballs were fine and the portions for the chicken and ribeye were large. We were excited to try the shortcake but they said they were out. Neither of us likes keylime so rather than both order the sorbet, we asked if we could substitute one of the other desserts but were told no because they were bigger portions (though one option was a sundae which we figured they could have given us a smaller version of but didn't argue.) They have a DJ playing loud music inside like it's a club. I don't know what kind of vibe they are trying for.... It's either club with drink or you have good food, they can't do both. Burger was overcooked and the egg was cooked hard. Lobster Benedict was cold and the hollandaise was almost dried up like it had been under a heat lamp for a long time. TLDR: Customer Service from Manager Melanie was unfathomably terrible. Told us "If we want to go somewhere else we are free to" (thank you for that reminder Melanie, after that comment we made sure to use that free will and leave.) My aunt (who has been in HR for 10+ years) called Osphere to make a reservation for Saturday and to clarify some things about the happy hour. She was unsure if the Happy Hour applied for both inside and outside and Melanie claimed it was for both. Melanie made sure to also clarify the time bracket for the Happy Hour since it's incorrectly labeled on the website. My Aunt then placed a reservation for Saturday at 5pm. We arrive and have to wait 15 minutes to be seated even though we had made a reservation. Something was clearly going on within the restaurant because the hostess and other staff were running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Maybe it was a bad day; maybe it was busy. We were frustrated but understanding as all of us have scars from our times working in the food and customer service industry. We sit and ask about the happy hour menu that brought in our business. We are told that they don't have Happy Hour on the weekends. We were surprised by this considering my aunt had called prior to ensure everything would go to plan. But what can you do? The table next to us heard our frustrations and we started talking. The table next to us visits Osphere all the time and they were also frustrated about the sudden limitations placed on the Happy Hour. Even the menus they were using claimed to have Happy Hour EVERYDAY. I'm sure a lot of the guests were frustrated because of that. The assistant manager made his rounds to visibly upset guests to explain the change-- apologizing profusely. The table next to us listened to him; asked questions about why the Happy Hour was still being advertised on the menu if it wasn't something they could do. All the assistant manager could do was apologize for the inconvenience and miscommunication. (which is MUCH better than what Melanie did.) The AGM came to our table next and we voiced our confusion as well considering we talked to a woman named Melanie on the phone in regards to the Happy Hour and she made no mention of this limitation. He said something along the lines of "Oh weird. I'll let her know" and moved on. we placed our orders and thought that would be the end of it. a small woman came up to our table and said she was made aware that we were upset and threw her name out. she proceeded to defend herself saying she never claimed happy hour to be on weekends. everyone at the table was kind of taken aback by this but my aunt (who had made the call and asked for her name) chose to speak up: "oh it's really okay. you didn't have to make a point to come and defend and argue your case" Melanie blinked: "i'm not arguing but i know what i said" we did that back and forth for a little bit until finally she said "if you want to go somewhere else you are free to" ... oh for real? that was soooo embarrassing. having 10+ people leave your already empty restaurant simply because you don't know when to quit and take accountability. a simple "i'm sorry for the confusion and miscommunication" would have sufficed. in fact, Melanie didn't even have to pull up to begin with. we were STILL going to give them business-- our order was already placed. hopefully she learns her lesson before the business has to file for bankruptcy. i wouldn't count on it. i feel for any future guests at osphere and pray a better experience awaits them. i feel for the workers who i'm sure are subjected to the same foolishness we had to endure. Melanie... do better girl or stop embarrassing yourself and staff and quit while your ahead. good luck. you will certainly need it. read more

In a nutshell: - Pros: prime location (adjacent to Lake Eola); one of the best patios in town with a privileged view of the fountain; diverse menu able to please different preferences and tastebuds - Con: the average American casual dining restaurant, i.e. nothing outstanding about its food I ordered a glass of Malbec and the tempura fried snapper without the bun. The piece of fish was ginormous, which I appreciated. The breading, however, was too thick. When ordering a handheld, you can substitute the standard side (fries) for another side like mashed potatoes or salad, so I went for the mashed potatoes, which were okay.
