The absolute BEST sushi I've ever had. The service was also great and ambiance was also inviting. I cannot wait to go back .

My friend has been raving about this place so we came for her birthday with a party of 12. Please take note that this is an extremely small restaurant! I'm unsure the size of their other locations, but their downtown location can probably fit about 15 people plus the seats at the sushi bar. They also only really have wine here. There is like a margarita and Cuba libre on the menu but I think these may be made from wine based liquors? I must say I was more impressed with the Hispanic parts of the food than the Asian fusion parts of the food. The Arroz Enchurrascado was TO DIE FOR!!! The sushi rolls we ordered too were really good, but my favorite was the Arroz Enchurrascado. I will say that I do think there was only one sushi chef there (we made the reservation for 12 people weeks in advanced so it wasn't a surprise to them that they were going to have a full restaurant). The food did take a whiiiile to come out, but that one sushi chef was working so hard so props to him!! Our server was very kind too and kept apologizing for the delay. Overall, I would come back here on a date night but not with a large group of people. The "liquid love" neon light was so cute also!

I definitely enjoyed my first visit to The Escobar Kitchen a few weeks back. I visited their establishment just before closing and dined in. They are a Latin-Asian fusion sushi restaurant and wine bar. The food was good. I enjoyed the Caribbean Roll, which features Spanish yellow rice, chicken teriyaki, sweet plantain, and cream cheese. It is topped with Chimichurri and teriyaki sauce. I am usually good with one roll, so this was the only one that I tried. I will definitely be back to try more of their menu. I also didn't try any of their wines, but on my next visit, I will try one of their wines as well. The staff were super friendly and attentive. The vibes and music were great, and since it was just a few of us, it definitely would have been enough room to do a quick one-two step. Again, I truly enjoyed my first visit here, and I cannot wait to visit again. Some other general things, price points are a STEAL - super affordable. Parking is hit and miss in this area as far as street parking goes. However, there are ample parking garages in the area that offer parking at reasonable rates. Since this is by Lake Eola, you also have access to numerous other eateries, bars, and shops in the area.

I was looking for a place to host a dinner for our board member/executives (17 people) within walking distance from our downtown office. Lewis, his wife and Gaby were so accommodating to our needs. They even opened on their day off for us. Sushi/Rice/seaweed salad were amazing! the atmosphere was great and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. we will go back!

This location of Escobar Kitchen is a very small, cozy spot. It's a cute little space, but keep in mind that they don't have everything available that's listed on their online menu, which was a bit disappointing when we arrived. The service started off a little slow and not the most welcoming, but as the visit went on, it did improve, and the experience ended on a much better note. The food was definitely the highlight. Everything we ordered was flavorful and well prepared. You can tell they put care into the food, and it made up for the earlier hiccups with service. We tried two rolls and the Escobar tower and they were really good. Overall, I'm glad we gave it a try. I would come back again because the food was worth it, but I'd probably visit one of their other locations next time to see if the experience is different.

First time here and it did not disappoint. The food is Latin-Asian fusion sushi and Asian inspired types of plates. We started with the pork gyozas and the Arroz Enchurrascado. Then for mains we tried the Bandeja Regular Platter which includes: the Escobar roll, dragon roll, steak roll and Caribbean roll. Everything was made fresh and with high quality ingredients. The service was very attentive and courteous. They do not seem to have a soda fountain is all canned sodas which caught my attention bc it means no refills. We came on a Saturday late afernoon/night and the atmosphere was chill and laid back until a Dj arrived and was playing awesome tunes which set the vibe, I would appreciate a bit lower volume to be able to hold a conversation while dining. Other than that 10/10

This is restaurant/wine bar is an interesting concept. My friends and I didn't know what to expect. One thing I didn't like is the parking situation. This is not the business' fault but I forgot how difficult it is to find parking downtown Orlando. I loved the Latin / Asian fusion food; we tried different dishes and they were all very good. The Neptune salad was delicious and beautifully presented. It had crab, salmon and tuna topped with seaweed and avocado. What else can you ask for! The Arroz Enchurrascado was also really tasty l. The blend of yellow rice, steak and sweet plantain was to die for. I also ordered the Escobar roll which I thought was delicious. I would have never thought to roll yellow rice and plantains in a sushi roll. We had a great dining experience and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to try something new and different.

A hidden gem Downtown! This spot has such a cute and intimate vibe inside they have great food and the best staff. First time trying the Escobar tower and ahhh definitely a great pick if you want a filling meal. Also they have delicious desert options as well. If you're in the Downtown Orlando area it's worth checking out, especially for date night !

Really creative take on sushi with bold flavors and unique ingredients. We stopped in for an unplanned meal and were pleasantly surprised at how good each dish was. Only giving 4 stars because we returned once after and the food wasn't as fresh as the first time however this place is still worth a try in my book.

    Tijah M.

Some of the best sushi that I've ever had, it's definitely a unique experience with the Latin twist on a sushi favorite. I'd say the restaurant isn't one you go for for a typical restaurant experience think more of a cute stop and go grab a bite maybe a drink place it's rather small seating inside but there's definitely the option if that's what you'd like to do and it's a very cute theme inside. The service was also amazing, our server cracked jokes with us and there wasn't a crazy long wait considering food is made to order.

Really great food and friendly service. The flavor combinations are very unique, unlike anything you'd find elsewhere. Definitely excited to return and try more menu items.

First time here, we were the only ones here 5:30pm on a Monday so service was super quick and the waitress was very sweet. They play music videos on the TV and the decoration is very cool, but the place is a little small. We order the goyzas and I had the escobar roll and it was SO good and fair priced. It had 8 big pieces, no end pieces, and it included steak, cream cheese, shrimp, plantain and chimchurri on top which i've never had in a roll. It was very different but super good and the service was so fast. I will definitely be back here and hopefully to try some drinks next time!

A hidden little restaurant, with limited seating. The area is quite small, no real space to put your stroller if you have kids. They have a cute little lounge chair where you can take pictures. The sushi hand rolls that we got, are different to the usual of course with the Latin influence. The plantains were definitely noticeable when you eat it, and maybe even over powering on the taste. If anything, I'd say that there was too much sauce drizzled all over the hand rolls. Would have preferred less of the sauce. The server attended to us promptly and she was lovely overall.

The aesthetics and atmosphere of this restaurant / wine bar is very Mediterranean / south of France which I adorrrrred especially since I'll be there this summer. There's an outside seating area with a water fountain and umbrellas for all the vibes and shade to enjoy a brunch or day with the girls or even a date. Inside is elegant just as well with lovely art pieces, decor and lighting. They just started doing brunch on Sundays when I went so it was nice to experience it and see their curated menu. When I made the reservation I requested a scenic ambiance spot which they had the perfect table for me and my server Erin surprised me with a complimentary glass of bubbles, I assume the prosecco which was such a treat being to start off my birthday lunch! I had some main goals of YES and I NEED, which was a nice bottle of wine, those gorgeous blue and white printed plates, the blue crab cannoli, and the ousters. All of which I received in the best presentation possible. The team at Lorelei even made my lunch ever so special by serving everything on those plates along with enhancing my blue crab cannoli with caviar on the top instead of the regular fish eggs that are placed which I was just full of joy and happiness seeing how special they surprised and customized my dishes for me! The bottle of Sauvignon blanc also a perfectly complimented my oysters as well as the cannolis. Overall, Lorelei did not disappoint me and met all of my expectations and desires with the perfect birthday lunch with my favorite besties! I can't wait to come back again for some small bites and tapas or even experience the wine tasting events they hold!

5 Star update to include their incredible new food program! (Get the carrots and red cabbage salad…read moreand the pan con tomate STAT.) Quicksand is a natural wine bar that will change the way Orlandoans expect to feel at a bar. Pro-tip: ask the staff for suggestions and settle in! It's no secret that I've become a big fan of natural wine in the past few years, and that is 100% due to Golden Hour - a wine shop in Baldwin Park that I randomly discovered on their first day open. Heather, who brought us Golden Hour, opened Quicksand in late 2024 for those of us wondering why Orlando doesn't have a great wine bar like the ones we've seen in cities around the world for decades. ***Finding the bar: Quicksand is located directly next to Educe Salon (across from Black Bean Deli). It does not have a big sign, but it's the first door you'll see as you walk from the parking lot. ***Parking: Did I mention the large parking lot? There's plenty of parking available there, or on street behind the bar. ***Service style: As you walk in, head to the part of the bar closest to the entrance where you can get recs from their staff and don't have to try to bully your way through folks sitting at the bar to get their attention. ## Did I mention that everything here is intentional? From that simple detail that makes ordering another glass MUCH easier than flagging someone down in the middle of the bar, to the position of the speakers... *** The Food: Chef Leah Cordova has crafted a seasonal menu at Quicksand, currently consisting of sandwiches, small plates, and some heartier dishes. All of them have a focus on quality ingredients with many sourcing their components from local farms or special producers. My faves include: - Pan con tomate: The tomato here is actually a combination of fresh slices of small tomatoes as well as another preparation that adds a wonderful tang. It's truly a special version of this small dish. - Whichever salad they are featuring, but special mention to the carrot and red cabbage salad that has just the perfect amount of fennel! - The white bean dish. I didn't catch the name, but it's a winner! - Cacio e pepe: This is exactly the rich, creamy dish you are dreaming of. - Whichever ice cream they are featuring (Chef Leah also operated Sweet Thyme, her ice-cream project with inventive flavors. Faves include the black pepper and date as well as the carrot cake) ***Ambiance: As you walk in you'll feel enveloped in a warm glow of subtle sconces and feel immediately comfortable. It feels like Quicksand has always been here. It's unstuffy, unfussy, and so inviting it has me researching squatter's rights... The music will sound loud at first, but then you'll realize you don't have to raise your voice at all to talk to people. This is because the speakers have been built into the furniture low and towards the floor. INTENTIONALITY. Besides the volume, the playlist has been painstakingly curated by the team so that you'll enjoy the music, but not quite be able to place the artist. ***The WHY And now, my favorite part. The wall of farmers/winemakers. Someone on staff filled me in to the fact that these are portraits of the various human beings who farm, harvest, and create the wines you can get at the bar. These are actual people, not giant corporations. And that same staff member reminded me that these individual producers are farmers for 11 months and 2 weeks of the year, and wine makers for only 2 weeks. None of these people are household names. None of them are in it for the money. They are in it to produce beautiful wine the way it has been produced since the beginning of wine-making: with minimal intervention, meaning no insane additives that give me headaches; and no mass production. The thing I've come to love about "natural" wine is that it is intensely principled. Quicksand is what happens when *every single link* in the supply chain (Farmer/Producer; Importer; Distributor; and Wine Bar) prioritizes principles over profits. And you can feel it the moment you walk in. This is not a corporate chain, nor will you find multiple locations and franchises. Not only is the wine list filled with some of the most incredible bottles I've had the pleasure of trying (many of which you can't get anywhere else in Florida), but the staff truly believes in the power of creating this special "third space" for a community to gather around good, ethically-sourced wine. I can't wait until they start serving bites alongside the wine! (Someone told me the small menu will consist of cheeses, charcuterie, focaccia, chips, etc.) SALUD!

The staff was very knowledgeable about all of the different wines and helped to select the best glass for what I was in the mood for that evening. The bar was very clean and there is a lot more space then what you see when you first walk in. It was all very clean and modern looking inside. Looking forward to my next trip in.

It's definitely a great spot to get together after work and wind down with friends, coworkers, or even new people. Trivia Night was a blast! The host kept everyone entertained, engaged, and laughing throughout the evening. It felt very well-organized and had a nice community feel -- I'd absolutely go again for that experience alone. A few things did surprise me, though. Since it's a wine bar, I expected mostly alcoholic drinks, but their Instagram made it seem like they also offered non-alcoholic options. When I asked for a soda, I was told they only serve alcohol -- no soft drinks, no mocktails. So if you're not drinking, plan to bring your own or grab something before you go. Later in the night, I got hungry. Their Instagram also gave me the impression that they served food, but they actually don't -- the food comes from a food truck around the back. When I went to order, the lady running the truck told me, "I'd rather sell out...," which threw me off. I wasn't sure what she meant, but it came across as rude or maybe even personal, which was disappointing since I was ready to buy something. That said, I don't hold that against Grape and The Grain itself. The staff inside were kind and welcoming, the crowd was friendly, and the overall vibe was great. For the atmosphere, comfort, and fun trivia experience, they get a full 5 stars from me. I'll definitely be back -- next time I'll just eat beforehand and bring my own non-alcoholic drink!

The interior kinda has a hipster-rustic vibe but with more comfortable chairs. Prices seemed reasonable. Service seemed a bit overwheled but again, I think the massive event letting out had something to do with that. I got a cheese board, truffled fries, fried chicken caviar, and a deviled affogato for dessert. My date for the creste di gallo and the olive oil citrus cake. Everything was was very good, with the standout being the fries; I know that truffle essence flavor isn't for everyone but it worked really well for me in the fry sauce. My dates pasta was also very good, the pesto sauce was zesty and complimented it well. And I really like the olive oil cake with mascarpone, super light and perfectly sweet. The very minor issues were that the fried chicken was pretty deeply fried and way harder than expected, which I don't mind but may not be your thing. Devil's food cake at the bottom of the affogato was also not as sweet as I would have liked. Overall a really enjoyable experience. Would definitely recommend.
