My husband, friends, and I stopped by for a Blind Tasting Tuesday for the first time. Owner and Advanced Sommelier Melissa is a wonderful supporter of the community, who I've been able to interact with at several events, so I knew that her Blind Tasting would be a fun, judgement-free experience for someone like me who has never been to a blind tasting before. The experience takes you through tasting three whites and three reds, figuring out their identities. This sommelier-led group starts at 6pm, and is a fun experience for wine lovers!

I honestly can not say enough positive remarks about this spot! I'm embarrassed to admit I've been living down the street from Swirlery for almost 2 years and it took me this long to make my first visit. Now that I finally have, I 100% regret not going sooner. It really is the perfect spot in the SoDo area to enjoy a glass of wine. I loved the ambiance as soon as I walked in (beautiful and classy) and was so impressed with Melissa & Amy's hospitality. My boyfriend and I sat at the bar and Amy immediately greeted us and offered samples of wines she thought we'd like after learning what we enjoy drinking (which is such a rarity since at most places you have to request a sample). She was so informative about the wine options, gave us the rundown of what they're all about (wine club, events they hold, etc) and really made us feel so welcome and right at home in this lovely little piece of wine heaven. We really enjoyed our wine (I wish i recalled what we had but her recommendations were delicious! We are big Cabernet and red blend drinkers). We ordered the charcuterie & cheese board and I absolutely loved the unique touch of the sliced croissant instead of the average baguette usually served. Everything was yummy (we did feel it was slightly overpriced for the portion but everything tasted wonderful, especially the aged cheddar). This is without a doubt going to become my new wine hangout spot and I can't wait to taste more of their delicious wine on my next visit, which I imagine will be in the very near future! All wine lovers need to visit this place ASAP.

Good wines good service, and the prices were pretty good! Limited seating and the place itself was quite unorganized. Their wine selection was huge though it was nice to walk around and look at all their selections. Will come back to enjoy a nice bottle next time, maybe a cheese board!

Got to taste some wines at the yelp neon noir event. Great selection and variety for every bodies palate. The lady was very knowledgeable. The table was inviting, colorful.

This spot is a hidden gem for wine enthusiasts. We stopped by the other night after a show and absolutely loved it. It was busy for a Thursday night but in a good way. They were also giving out samples of Beaujolais wine due to it being "Beaujolais day" which was really cool being able to try some. Inside is decorated nicely with what felt like all kinds of wine on every wall there was. The staff was super accommodating due to the fact we got there about 30 mins before closing. We got to meet the owner and also order the Charcuterie Tray which was exactly what we needed to pair with our wines. If you love to drink wine and craft beers then Swirlery is definitely the place to go!

Meet the owner Melissa at another wine event and i just knew I had to come check her place out. It's small but so intimate. There's wines from all over and they have a $10 corking fee. You can also buy the bottles to go. We went for the vegan street party that will now be every single Wednesday from 6-10 pm. So we ordered some food and then sat down and they had a list of wines that the corking fee was already into the price. We got the bottle of Pomagrana from Spain for $34 (a glass is $15) so super worth it. On Tuesday's they have blind wine tastings with a sommelier! Deff a place to visit if you haven't.

I love Swirlery!! We have been here many a time to do grab a couple glasses and decompress. The parking is just off to the side and in the afternoon it's pretty open. Once inside you can sit at the bar or tables. The bar is made of a tree cut with a polished finish. Really neat. I recommend sitting up there if you can. Specials are on the chalkboard to the right wall of the bar. They carry both wine and beer. Wine list is the more extensive one. Staff here is really nice. Very friendly and makes everyone feel like a welcome local. If you have questions, they're really knowledgeable too!! Try something new! Overall; A++ Love local bars, and a WINE bar is even better! Try out a new thing and find new discoveries!

What a gem! It was tricky to find at first but there is a little parking lot in front of the dog groomers and then you walk to the main street and into a little wine oasis! There are various table set ups or seating at the bar. I went for a pairing event and it was fantastic! The staff is so knowledgeable. I was helped and tried the side car red wine, it was amazing! I'll be getting a bottle! We tried 4 other wines and paired them with sweets for valentine's day. Almost all of us found a new favorite wine! I will be back for sure for happy hour or another ladies night!

The aesthetics and atmosphere of this restaurant / wine bar is very Mediterranean / south of France which I adorrrrred especially since I'll be there this summer. There's an outside seating area with a water fountain and umbrellas for all the vibes and shade to enjoy a brunch or day with the girls or even a date. Inside is elegant just as well with lovely art pieces, decor and lighting. They just started doing brunch on Sundays when I went so it was nice to experience it and see their curated menu. When I made the reservation I requested a scenic ambiance spot which they had the perfect table for me and my server Erin surprised me with a complimentary glass of bubbles, I assume the prosecco which was such a treat being to start off my birthday lunch! I had some main goals of YES and I NEED, which was a nice bottle of wine, those gorgeous blue and white printed plates, the blue crab cannoli, and the ousters. All of which I received in the best presentation possible. The team at Lorelei even made my lunch ever so special by serving everything on those plates along with enhancing my blue crab cannoli with caviar on the top instead of the regular fish eggs that are placed which I was just full of joy and happiness seeing how special they surprised and customized my dishes for me! The bottle of Sauvignon blanc also a perfectly complimented my oysters as well as the cannolis. Overall, Lorelei did not disappoint me and met all of my expectations and desires with the perfect birthday lunch with my favorite besties! I can't wait to come back again for some small bites and tapas or even experience the wine tasting events they hold!

5 Star update to include their incredible new food program! (Get the carrots and red cabbage salad…read moreand the pan con tomate STAT.) Quicksand is a natural wine bar that will change the way Orlandoans expect to feel at a bar. Pro-tip: ask the staff for suggestions and settle in! It's no secret that I've become a big fan of natural wine in the past few years, and that is 100% due to Golden Hour - a wine shop in Baldwin Park that I randomly discovered on their first day open. Heather, who brought us Golden Hour, opened Quicksand in late 2024 for those of us wondering why Orlando doesn't have a great wine bar like the ones we've seen in cities around the world for decades. ***Finding the bar: Quicksand is located directly next to Educe Salon (across from Black Bean Deli). It does not have a big sign, but it's the first door you'll see as you walk from the parking lot. ***Parking: Did I mention the large parking lot? There's plenty of parking available there, or on street behind the bar. ***Service style: As you walk in, head to the part of the bar closest to the entrance where you can get recs from their staff and don't have to try to bully your way through folks sitting at the bar to get their attention. ## Did I mention that everything here is intentional? From that simple detail that makes ordering another glass MUCH easier than flagging someone down in the middle of the bar, to the position of the speakers... *** The Food: Chef Leah Cordova has crafted a seasonal menu at Quicksand, currently consisting of sandwiches, small plates, and some heartier dishes. All of them have a focus on quality ingredients with many sourcing their components from local farms or special producers. My faves include: - Pan con tomate: The tomato here is actually a combination of fresh slices of small tomatoes as well as another preparation that adds a wonderful tang. It's truly a special version of this small dish. - Whichever salad they are featuring, but special mention to the carrot and red cabbage salad that has just the perfect amount of fennel! - The white bean dish. I didn't catch the name, but it's a winner! - Cacio e pepe: This is exactly the rich, creamy dish you are dreaming of. - Whichever ice cream they are featuring (Chef Leah also operated Sweet Thyme, her ice-cream project with inventive flavors. Faves include the black pepper and date as well as the carrot cake) ***Ambiance: As you walk in you'll feel enveloped in a warm glow of subtle sconces and feel immediately comfortable. It feels like Quicksand has always been here. It's unstuffy, unfussy, and so inviting it has me researching squatter's rights... The music will sound loud at first, but then you'll realize you don't have to raise your voice at all to talk to people. This is because the speakers have been built into the furniture low and towards the floor. INTENTIONALITY. Besides the volume, the playlist has been painstakingly curated by the team so that you'll enjoy the music, but not quite be able to place the artist. ***The WHY And now, my favorite part. The wall of farmers/winemakers. Someone on staff filled me in to the fact that these are portraits of the various human beings who farm, harvest, and create the wines you can get at the bar. These are actual people, not giant corporations. And that same staff member reminded me that these individual producers are farmers for 11 months and 2 weeks of the year, and wine makers for only 2 weeks. None of these people are household names. None of them are in it for the money. They are in it to produce beautiful wine the way it has been produced since the beginning of wine-making: with minimal intervention, meaning no insane additives that give me headaches; and no mass production. The thing I've come to love about "natural" wine is that it is intensely principled. Quicksand is what happens when *every single link* in the supply chain (Farmer/Producer; Importer; Distributor; and Wine Bar) prioritizes principles over profits. And you can feel it the moment you walk in. This is not a corporate chain, nor will you find multiple locations and franchises. Not only is the wine list filled with some of the most incredible bottles I've had the pleasure of trying (many of which you can't get anywhere else in Florida), but the staff truly believes in the power of creating this special "third space" for a community to gather around good, ethically-sourced wine. I can't wait until they start serving bites alongside the wine! (Someone told me the small menu will consist of cheeses, charcuterie, focaccia, chips, etc.) SALUD!

The staff was very knowledgeable about all of the different wines and helped to select the best glass for what I was in the mood for that evening. The bar was very clean and there is a lot more space then what you see when you first walk in. It was all very clean and modern looking inside. Looking forward to my next trip in.

I got a cheese board, truffled fries, fried chicken caviar, and a deviled affogato for dessert. My date for the creste di gallo and the olive oil citrus cake. Everything was was very good, with the standout being the fries; I know that truffle essence flavor isn't for everyone but it worked really well for me in the fry sauce. My dates pasta was also very good, the pesto sauce was zesty and complimented it well. And I really like the olive oil cake with mascarpone, super light and perfectly sweet. The very minor issues were that the fried chicken was pretty deeply fried and way harder than expected, which I don't mind but may not be your thing. Devil's food cake at the bottom of the affogato was also not as sweet as I would have liked. Overall a really enjoyable experience. Would definitely recommend.

The Sangue Di Giuda, which means "Blood of Judas", is more of a deep, slightly sparkling and delectably sweet red wine. Chardonnay is my go to when I want a nice glass of wine after work. It's definitely a great spot to get together after work and wind down with friends, coworkers, or even new people. Trivia Night was a blast! The host kept everyone entertained, engaged, and laughing throughout the evening. It felt very well-organized and had a nice community feel -- I'd absolutely go again for that experience alone. A few things did surprise me, though. Since it's a wine bar, I expected mostly alcoholic drinks, but their Instagram made it seem like they also offered non-alcoholic options. When I asked for a soda, I was told they only serve alcohol -- no soft drinks, no mocktails. So if you're not drinking, plan to bring your own or grab something before you go. Later in the night, I got hungry. Their Instagram also gave me the impression that they served food, but they actually don't -- the food comes from a food truck around the back. When I went to order, the lady running the truck told me, "I'd rather sell out...," which threw me off. I wasn't sure what she meant, but it came across as rude or maybe even personal, which was disappointing since I was ready to buy something. That said, I don't hold that against Grape and The Grain itself. The staff inside were kind and welcoming, the crowd was friendly, and the overall vibe was great. Blue cheese stuffed olives were a dollar a piece and tasted great but don't think I needed the 3 that was automatically given. The charcuterie board had a good selection of cheeses, meats, olives, nuts, fruit, crackers, and little sweet touches that made it fun to graze through. The olive oil flight was also a really unique experience and a great way to try something a little different. What really made the visit stand out, though, were the owners. They were fantastic, personable, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. They asked about our preferences and gave great wine recommendations based on what we each liked, which made the whole experience feel personal rather than transactional. It's the perfect spot for a relaxed wine date, a catch-up with friends, or anyone who enjoys great wine, small bites, and warm hospitality. We'll definitely be back.

Came to Orlando to spend a couple days with my son and his fiancé. While doing some research on…read morelocal events, I saw a mention of an event called Saturday Sips where this establishment offers some complimentary wine and cheese tasting on Saturday between 1-3. After reviewing the menu we decided that we were going to allocate our lunch time to checking out the place. We are so glad we did. From the moment you walk in you get greeted warmly by one of the owners Chris. His warm and friendly demeanor instantly lets you know you are going to receive superb service. The venue is the right size to hold a nice selection of different wines while still having a cozy relaxing environment. We decided to go with a small Charcuterie board that had 4 different cheeses as well as a couple different meats as well as some fruits nuts crackers etc. and a couple different sandwiches. To pair, Chris helped us with our wine selection. I'm a huge Pinot Noir fan and originally thought I was going to go with a Pinot Noir but my mood was to have something lighter and a bit sweeter. Chris let me sample a nice Riesling and was sold right away on having a glass. My son asked Chris to just bring out a glass of something that Chris enjoys and he brought out a lovely Red that very good. Chris also brought out a few complimentary different wines to taste as well as a few cheeses. Everything was delicious. If you are looking for a spot to spend some time relaxing while enjoying a nice glass or bottle of wine, you should definitely visit this spot. If you are looking to have a great culinary and wine pairing experience you should visit this spot. If you have a couple of hours and are looking for something different to do that involves wine and cheese you should visit this spot. You should just visit this spot! You won't regret it. We brought our wine glasses out back, sat on Adirondack chairs, & watched the sunset. It could either be romantic or a great party spot. The site also had multiple event spaces, including a speakeasy! You open a mirror & a beautifully decorated large room with sunlight pouring in was there. They had events such a karaoke there regularly. The main wine bar is eco conscious. Many wines were on tap to save on glass bottles. Their bottled wine also consciously use less glass, but still have enough to preserve the flavors of the wines. I personally loved the violet delight red blend. It has a grape in it that was previously thought to be extinct! The winery is picky about how their grapes are sourced as well to fit into their eco views. They had another red based off a doggo, but I forgot the name. It was my second favorite. I highly recommend starting with a flight. The staff is very confidently knowledgeable & an overall blast to be around. They also have charcuterie boards & PeterBrooke chocolates available for purchase. The owner stopped by to say a friendly hi. It felt like anyone who entered instantly became a friend. Their wines will still be sold in other locations, & the processing location is still there.
