This is such a hidden gem in Orlando. The space is cozy, colorful, and full of character. The kind of place where you immediately want to settle in, sip wine, and stay awhile. We tried the hummus with fresh vegetables, a charcuterie board, and the olive oil flight, and everything was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. The charcuterie board had a good selection of cheeses, meats, olives, nuts, fruit, crackers, and little sweet touches that made it fun to graze through. The olive oil flight was also a really unique experience and a great way to try something a little different. What really made the visit stand out, though, were the owners. They were fantastic, personable, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. They asked about our preferences and gave great wine recommendations based on what we each liked, which made the whole experience feel personal rather than transactional. This is an update related solely to their "Saturday Sips" experience. Christopher, the owner told me about it at my initial visit, so I decided to come back to try out this weekly event. Every Saturday, between 1-3pm, you can experience a free wine tasting. Christopher usually serves up the wine, but on certain Saturdays, a wine distributor stops in to introduce you to their selections. This past Saturday, Melissa provided the tasting experience consisting of 5 wines (2 white and 3 reds). You can attempt to guess what region the wine came from (Old World vs. New World, then country or state), the type of wine (Chardonnay, Cabernet, etc.) and the flavor and characteristics of the wine sampled (earthy; forest floor; fruit-forward; sweetness; dryness; etc.) Or, you can have Melissa (or the server on that Saturday) help you assess the wine based on your tasting experience. Melissa had an outstanding knowledge of the 5 wines served and I learned a lot about wine, while having a fun and highly enjoyable afternoon. Stopped in for a quick glass of wine. The owner recommended a wine from South Africa- it's light and refreshing perfect to match the day today. The body of the wine is clear and lovely on the palate. Came to Orlando to spend a couple days with my son and his fiancé. While doing some research on local events, I saw a mention of an event called Saturday Sips where this establishment offers some complimentary wine and cheese tasting on Saturday between 1-3. After reviewing the menu we decided that we were going to allocate our lunch time to checking out the place. We are so glad we did. From the moment you walk in you get greeted warmly by one of the owners Chris. His warm and friendly demeanor instantly lets you know you are going to receive superb service. The venue is the right size to hold a nice selection of different wines while still having a cozy relaxing environment. We decided to go with a small Charcuterie board that had 4 different cheeses as well as a couple different meats as well as some fruits nuts crackers etc. and a couple different sandwiches. To pair, Chris helped us with our wine selection. I'm a huge Pinot Noir fan and originally thought I was going to go with a Pinot Noir but my mood was to have something lighter and a bit sweeter. Chris let me sample a nice Riesling and was sold right away on having a glass. My son asked Chris to just bring out a glass of something that Chris enjoys and he brought out a lovely Red that very good. Chris also brought out a few complimentary different wines to taste as well as a few cheeses. Everything was delicious. If you are looking for a spot to spend some time relaxing while enjoying a nice glass or bottle of wine, you should definitely visit this spot. If you are looking to have a great culinary and wine pairing experience you should visit this spot. If you have a couple of hours and are looking for something different to do that involves wine and cheese you should visit this spot. You should just visit this spot! You won't regret it. Ok ya'll...so let me tell you what I love about this place... literally EVERYTHING. So we recently stopped by for a late night cap before we headed home for the evening ...and we wanted to go to a place that was dog friendly since we had the pup with us. We decided to stop by Formaggio & Friends because they allowed dogs on the patio and this place has been on our radar for a while now. Located in a strip plaza on Orange Ave this spot can be located right next to Gatlin Hall Brewing. The plaza had a huge parking lot so it made it very easy to find parking compared to the other restaurants around the area. Upon walking in the restaurant/ wine shop... it felt very quaint and homey like I was actually walking into someone's home. The decor and furniture was very colorful and quirky. We were greeted almost immediately by the owner. He was very kind and welcoming... seating us right away in the patio and taking the time to tell us about how this business came about. He gave us very truthful and honest recommendations of different wines and bites to eat... which we truly appreciated. For the wines, there were options that fit everyone's flavor profile and price point. We opted for two bottles of dry reds which were both very good. For food we opted for a cheese board, crab cakes, anchovy sandwich and pesto pasta w/ shrimp. Every single item was made to order and they really took their time to meticulously prepare these dishes. The star dish of the night for me definitely had to be the crab cake which was jammed packed with crab and was oh so delicious. The portions are smaller but I think that it was a perfect size to pair with the wine ...as we really were not looking for a huge meal. Overall, I truly enjoyed Formaggio & Friends. I really think that this place has so much character and the owners are so lovely. I am definitely going to come back again in the near future to try the other wines they have to offer....maybe even stopping by on the weekend to do a wine tasting. This place is pretty cool and interesting. Not a huge selection which I like and they seem to have all the bases covered and they know their wines. I asked for some oddball wines and the owner asked if I wanted to try one. It took some digging in the cooler but he indeed had an open bottle in there. We were meeting a friend next door at the brewery so I decided to get a charcuterie board which was outstanding. Bless their heart, the waiter at the brewery said that they had one on offer and after seeing what they had in the display case lets just say that I was glad I got the one from here. They have a couple of couches set up so you can kick back and try some stuff it seems. This was my second time here and I will definitely be back. read more

We have been to Formaggio and Friends 3 different times now and it has been superb every visit. The owners are fantastic people with tons of knowledge on both their wine options and cheese varieties, and they make one heck of a charcuterie board designed specifically for your individual tastes!
