One of our favorite hang outs! Huge selection of wine, chill vibes, and friendly servers. The paninis are tasty and the olives are fantastic. They also routinely have a variety of food trucks that show up that we love trying out (they post the food truck schedule online so definitely check it out). Digress wine has. Always been on my list and I finally made it. I went on a Thursday night so it wasn't too packed except for the patio. It was popping. I moved to the College Park area September of 2024, and some of my new neighbors told me how much they love Digress. So I went there after work one day and learned I could also buy bottles of wine for at home. So that's how my Digress experience started, and I really loved the vibe inside and thought about going on my own and then learned the husband of my dear friend owns Digress. She got a table for us and our other dear friend on a night when the chef Kevin Fonzo was there. What an incredible experience; I miss K every day (I drive past the restaurant daily) and getting to experience his food with such incredible wines made for the loveliest of evenings. Wow - totally found a cool new wine bar! They have an interesting set up - you can get wine by the glass, or you can buy a bottle and pay a small upcharge as a corkage fee - definitely worth it. And they have some cool beers for those of us not into the wine scene, but wanting to socialize with our friends. They don't serve food, per se - what they have is the Duck & Drake food truck outside the front door that serves exceptional, (no, seriously) food. We rarely have date nights and felt it would be appropriate to return to our old stomping grounds (bc - before the child). I became the wine shop customer in 2013, way before it became Digress Wine. The place then was dark, quiet and cold, just like a wine cellar, a bit uncomfortable to walk in, but had great wine selection. Then new ownership stepped in and with every visit the transformations started to take place: from updated interior to the wines brought from their numerous trips all over the world. Reading their newsletter is a special interaction for me: it is a skillfully crafted short story, full of imagery and passionate approach to wine as a cultural experience. Moving into 2023, after 4 years of active parenthood, we were amazed at how much love, effort, creativity, and positive energy was put into the place! I am not going to go into detail here, just want to say, the outdoor area was perfectly set up, with a touch of tropical garden, the lanterns and candles... and wine! Oh, the generous pour of rich and lucious wisdom! I had my usual Willamette Valley Pinot Nior while my daughter had her usual Sauv Blanc. Great atmosphere indoors and the patio. Super quality food truck "Duck & Drake" provided us with Wagyu sliders (raclette for the frommage) and risotto balls. There was a group tasting event in the private room behind the glass. I like that the host was pouring wine from an Erlenmeyer flask (and also proud that my kiddo knew it by name!) John topped the night with a sample of a Pinot Gris of which I learned of the skin contact adding a pinkish hue. Learn something new daily. I love it. read more

I saw that Digress offered a private cellar for dining and I contacted them to see if they'd allow just the two of us to dine there. I was contacted by Jenna, who was very accommodating and arranged for us to have the room on a Thursday. We could not have had a better time! It was so nice to be out and enjoying a wonderful meal and wines for each course! Jenna made the wine selections after we worked out a menu with Heberto from Duck & Drake and they were all outstanding wines and paired beautifully with the meal. Jenna was a wonderful host and Randy was a great server. Both wore masks to keep us safe, which we greatly appreciated! We had great conversations with Jenna about wine and the history of the place since the last time I had been there, under the previous owner. We will definitely be doing this again and cannot recommend this experience enough - you must give them a try! read more

5 Stars for a bottle shop/wine bar that delivers on a cheers-like neighborhood ambiance, great recommendations, and special wines you wouldn't normally try. I was introduced to Digress to speak at a board meeting for an org, taking place in the Digress Cellar. This is a semi-private room with floor to ceiling glass allowing you sound privacy, while still feeling airy and not at all claustrophobic. Immediately, I was making plans in my head for a small, private birthday tasting event in the cellar... (The burden of being a born-event planner.) Rob Chase, the co-owner, came by to take my order and I was a bit vague-- "A full-bodied red, plz." I don't know a lot about wine, other than I love red wine and the more opaque and rich, the better. He came back with something that hit the mark for me. After the meeting, I sat at the bar and chatted with Rob and a regular patron. The laid-back, neighborhood vibe here is something that makes you want to protect it and get on first name basis with the owners and regulars. It really is special. Besides the Cellar and bar, there are tables to one side of the space, and wine shelves on the other. This is a retail seller of wines, to be clear. They've got really cool rare bottles as well as wonderful staples. And they're totally unpretentious if you need help choosing. There's also an outdoor patio that looks like it would be charming and perfect for a good fall/spring day or night. Overall, I'm a big fan. Though their hours aren't that of a typical bar at the moment, they're working on hiring and staying open later. For now, this is the kind of local joint that I want to support. This is a really great place for wine lovers and newbies alike. I'm not really knowledgeable about wine, so I appreciate any place that makes me feel welcomed and comfortable. The staff knows their stuff and can offer recommendations if you're like me. I took home a great red after telling them what kind of wine I normally go for. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a food truck, Duck & Drake stationed outside. I haven't tried the food yet, but I'm looking forward to it next time I'm there. I was invited to an College Park Jazzfest Influencer Kickoff Party at Digress. The staff was warm and friendly and serving up gorgeous wines. There was an awesome musician Michael Powell, that filled the room with music. There's a main room with a bar and hundreds of bottles of wine. It was a nice evening and I spent some time on the secluded patio. My favorite was the Cabernet Sauvignon, warm and deep flavor with a nice finish. I took home a bottle for $25. I've given this place a very fair shot over the last ~3 years (not counting quarantine), as I live within walking distance. My dog & I sometimes make "pit stops" there during our walks to chill out in their beautifully renovated outdoor space with with a glass of wine for myself and water for him. Every time I go, the clientele is always super friendly and chatty; just about everyone loves my Boston terrier, and I've never been disappointed with the wine I select. However, I can't get past the off-putting vibe I get from the owner/manager. Every. Single. Time. I have gone in, someone is rushing to serve me, as if they want me to hurry up with my transaction and leave. As if I am not their desired clientele. As if they don't want this Black woman and her purebred dog in their establishment. It sickens me that I have to qualify this by mentioning that I always make sure I am reasonably well dressed when I go; I adhere to their mask mandate; and my dog is well-behaved. I thought maybe they had a problem with me bringing my dog inside the shop when I go to order my drink, since there is no table service; however, the last time I was there, there was a woman literally sitting at the bar with her puppy on her lap (she was very nice to me btw). Therefore, the only thing I can deduce is that I am not the right color to patronize their establishment, and somehow my College-Park home owning self is "bringing down" their demographic. I can't justify giving Digress anymore of my black green dollars, so pup & I will pit stop elsewhere. They really messed up and lost themselves a potential very good regular customer. And by posting this, I will help the owners keep up their goal by encouraging any POC to stay away! read more

This wine bar/shop is the cutest!! Came in on a Thursday for a glass of wine and the service was great! Inside gives off chill and easy vibes. There is also outdoor seating. Not too crowded but I feel as though this may change as summer really kicks in. There is a good truck located right outside where they have a bad selection of small bites. I placed an order for chili spiced fries (it took about 15-20minutes to prepare) and they will bring it inside to your table. Overall I was pleased with service, wine and food. This place was less busy on my first visit tonight than a lot of times I drive by, but there were about 3 couples hanging out at the bar. Everyone was very friendly. The craft beer selection appeared spot on with this delicious brewery called Edmund' Oast among others. What's an oast by the way? We had the Blackberry- Raspberry sour and the Leather Jacket porter. There was also a LOT of wine we didn't get to try yet. The owners seemed knowledgeable and friendly also and there were tasting options. All in all I'd recommend it; the vibe was cool and nice. My husband and I recently came here on a date night and have plans to return many times. We had a chance to chat with the owner who explained the amount of research that goes into the wine they offer. Its worth visiting this place to taste, sip and buy your wine bottles because you know you're going to get something good! For dinner, you can buy something from a food truck (smoke & donuts on Fridays), uber-eats something to the facility or you can run over to K-Restaurant to get something to-go. We ordered from K and sat on the porch. It was a quiet and peaceful dinner that was made even better by stellar wine selections. I was feeling light, sweet and refreshing white wine that day after my moonfish entree, so I enjoyed a Moscato from a small winery in Italy. They do have a wine club and members get 10% off bottles purchased in the shop- you can sign up on their website. Wow. We came to this place to celebrate. The bar was empty. I thought wine bars we're supposed to be about learning. I ordered something, explained what I didn't like and was told they couldn't help me because they didn't know what I liked. We made it clear that we were there to enjoy. I was treated like they had no time. The bar was empty and miserable, so depressing and lonely. They will get no business from me. Super disappointed. I do not recommend. read more
