A hidden gem! This place has a very cozy and intimate vibe. We popped in for happy hour which is from 5-6 Monday through Saturday (yes, Saturday!) and were able to grab two seats at the bar. We were seeing a show downtown and just wanted to get a round of drinks and some apps beforehand. They have a decent selection on the happy hour menu. We got the Tinto De Verano and it was so refreshing! The bartender kept making a cocktail with tomatoes and when I asked her about it, she said it was the Tomato Gimlet and it is the most popular drink on the menu, so I am going to try that one next time. We also ordered the carmelized onion dip and castelvetrano olives. Both were delicious and I was surprised when I saw how many olives there were. They have a vinyl night every Thursday, which I am looking forward to checking out!

This place feels vintage, but it's not. They had cool music playing and looks like they are ready for a DJ in there. The dishes were beautiful and the food delicious! My friend and I had the Caesar Carpaccio and Rigatoni Verde with Short Rib in it! It was so good! Oh and we also shared an order of fries. It was enough food for the two of us, but if I wouldn't suggest coming here super hungry! Our server Sophie was super sweet & attentive! I would definitely go back, especially for a drink and light bite!

Not much to not love here. Intimate vibe but still upbeat. All the staff is friendly, informative & kind. I am dying to try the girl dinner menu but the filet, rigatoni & mushroom pate is on my dinner rotation regularly. Highly recommend visiting

What a fun intimate vibe! I came here with a friend for happy hour. She's gluten free so it was nice to see that she could eat quite a bit on the menu. The wines were delicious and not your typical wine menu which I can appreciate. The service was lovely as well. Overall a great experience and I can't wait to come back for date night!

Came to Sparrow for the first time for one of their monthly afternoon tea events, and the space alone makes an impression. The restaurant is gorgeous, cozy, stylish, and the kind of place you actually want to linger in with its comfy seating and relaxed vibe. The afternoon tea comes with a gourmet three-tiered tray: a cheddar scone with homemade butter and blueberry compote, four tea sandwiches, and four beautifully crafted desserts (including a lovely Earl Grey profiterole). Most of it was delicious, though I could have skipped the beef and tomato sandwich, it was quite bloody and made the bread soggy. There were about ten teas to choose from, which made the experience feel customizable and fun. The staff was friendly and attentive throughout. At $65 per person, this is definitely one of the pricier afternoon tea options in Orlando, but the ambiance and presentation make it feel like a special outing.

What: Afternoon Tea in a Wine Bar Where: Sparrow Wine Bar Price: $65 (plus tax and gratuity) Parking: Complimentary garage parking or street parking Afternoon tea at Sparrow Wine Bar offers a unique twist on the traditional experience, set inside a cozy wine bar with a lovely atmosphere and Bridgerton style music playing throughout. They do not do this service regularly, it appears to maybe be quarterly or just be for holidays. The tea service itself includes a selection of fairly basic teas. One thing that stood out (unfortunately) was that we weren't provided glasses of water. We asked our server multiple times throughout the service and never received any, which took away from the overall experience. We also ordered the crudo and cheese plate as add-ons, and while we were excited to try the truffled goat cheese, it was substituted with brie without any notice, which was a bit disappointing. The tea tower featured four savory bites: a ham and butter sandwich, deviled egg, flounder, and corned beef, along with a savory scone served with blueberry preserves. The dessert selection included carrot cake, a peanut butter egg, a homemade Peep, and a fig tart. Everything was flavorful and well-prepared, though overall quite salty and rich. One of the biggest drawbacks was the strict 90-minute time limit. Rather than feeling like a gentle guideline, it was treated as a firm countdown, with frequent reminders of how much time remained. This made the experience feel rushed and took away from the relaxing, leisurely pace that afternoon tea typically offers, especially after ordering additional items. The ambiance itself is charming, and the concept is fun, but the service and pacing impacted the experience. Overall: 3/5 stars for the price and experience. I would give it another shot.

Perfect place for a girls night! Super cute and intimate atmosphere! Ever since our server first recommended the tomato gimlet, it's all we get. Definitely a must try! The focaccia is a new favorite in the rotation now

Great interior, cozy cute vibes, with a cool lounge feel. Drinks were good and service was friendly and attentive. The food was mid and overpriced. Menu is small too. Come for the drinks and the vibes, get food somewhere else.

The intimate dim atmosphere of Sparrow Wine Bar is such a vibe. The service is also amazing. Our server gave us some drink and food recommendations, and everything was fantastic.  The Tomato Gimlet was definitely my favorite thing I tried. I am such a tomato lover and this drink was everything I hoped it would be. My favorite bite of the night was definitely the focaccia. I wasn't sure how the blue cheese and honey would be together on the bread, but the combo was amazing, and the focaccia was nice and pillowy. We also ordered the Roasted Eggplant and the Pan Con Tomate. The Roasted Eggplant came on a puffy bread and was topped with peppers and onions. It was a good combo and I enjoyed it a lot. The Pan Con Tomate tasted good, but it came to the table a little soggy.  The prices are definitely steep, but worth it for the quality and the experience. I would definitely return for a date night or special occasion.

If you're looking for a place that feels effortlessly cool without trying too hard, The Sparrow Wine Bar definitely delivers. Yes, it is a bit pricey (their pricing on the menu online is accurate)... but it was absolutely delicious! My friend and I started with some Tomato Gimlets since we love tomatoes. PLEASE TRY THIS! I know it's a wine bar, but I promise you the Tomato Gimlet is not at all like a Bloody Mary. It was a very sophisticated and enjoyable beverage. The Focaccia was absolutely mind blowing. On first glance, blue cheese and honey seem like a questionable combo but they work so well together. My main entree was the Rigatoni Verde which was incredible. The short rib was so good and the noodles were very tender. We finished up with a glass of wine (I mean we HAD to try the wine... 10/10 recommendation from our server) and the very rich and decadent chocolate cake (which was TO DIE FOR). Our server was fantastic! She checked on us frequently, was very kind, and had great recommendations. I would love to keep coming back here :)

Ambiance? 5 stars. Food? 5 stars. Service? Definitely 5 stars. Everything was just excellent. We arrived on a Friday night around 6:45 pm, and the only tables available were outside. I was a bit surprised that they were fully booked inside, given the time. The hostess apologized and said that if we wanted to sit inside without waiting, we could go to Reyes, their sister restaurant. Nice of her, but no: if I came to Sparrow, I want Sparrow. We ended up sitting at a high-top table outside which, despite being small, wasn't an issue since the tapas-style dishes and serving plates were also small. Our server, Jackie, was extremely friendly and quick; she explained the menu and brought us water right away. I asked to try two red wines and, even though my friend hadn't shown any interest in drinking, she immediately asked "can bring the two samples for you to try as well?". Quite generous. We both ended up ordering a glass of Malbec each, which paired quite well with the food. For starters, we ordered the Pulpo and a side of bread with olive oil. I assumed the Pulpo would come grilled, but I clearly overlooked the fact that one would hardly get grilled octopus at a restaurant of this caliber for $18. I was a bit disappointed to see preserved octopus served from a tin (which, according to our server, was "just for show") and not in a very generous portion. The flavor, however, was excellent. As to the bread, it was toasted just right, and the olive oil (definitely Spanish) paired beautifully with everything. After that, we shared the Arroz Negro, which was without a doubt the best dish of the night. An explosion of flavor. Again, the amount of seafood wasn't exactly generous, but the taste and texture were simply di-vine. I squeezed some lime over the shrimp and boom. Perfection. Not fully satisfied, we ordered the Basque Cheesecake which, while tasty, was more of a reinterpretation of the true tarta de queso vasca. I was expecting a dark, caramelized, burnt top forming a thin crust, but I didn't quite get that crust. Yet, it was delicious. I might come back just for the cheesecake and a cup of espresso if they're open in the afternoon. The cherry on top of the cheesecake (tu dum tsss) was the birthday postcard the server brought, signed by several staff members. I truly felt appreciated. Big kudos to Chef Jennie (who always kills it) and Jackie for such a memorable dining experience. Bravo!

The aesthetics and atmosphere of this restaurant / wine bar is very Mediterranean / south of France which I adorrrrred especially since I'll be there this summer. Inside is elegant just as well with lovely art pieces, decor and lighting. They just started doing brunch on Sundays when I went so it was nice to experience it and see their curated menu. When I made the reservation I requested a scenic ambiance spot which they had the perfect table for me and my server Erin surprised me with a complimentary glass of bubbles, I assume the prosecco which was such a treat being to start off my birthday lunch! I had some main goals of YES and I NEED, which was a nice bottle of wine, those gorgeous blue and white printed plates, the blue crab cannoli, and the ousters. All of which I received in the best presentation possible. The team at Lorelei even made my lunch ever so special by serving everything on those plates along with enhancing my blue crab cannoli with caviar on the top instead of the regular fish eggs that are placed which I was just full of joy and happiness seeing how special they surprised and customized my dishes for me! The bottle of Sauvignon blanc also a perfectly complimented my oysters as well as the cannolis. Overall, Lorelei did not disappoint me and met all of my expectations and desires with the perfect birthday lunch with my favorite besties! I can't wait to come back again for some small bites and tapas or even experience the wine tasting events they hold!

5 Star update to include their incredible new food program! (Get the carrots and red cabbage salad…read moreand the pan con tomate STAT.) Quicksand is a natural wine bar that will change the way Orlandoans expect to feel at a bar. Pro-tip: ask the staff for suggestions and settle in! It's no secret that I've become a big fan of natural wine in the past few years, and that is 100% due to Golden Hour - a wine shop in Baldwin Park that I randomly discovered on their first day open. Heather, who brought us Golden Hour, opened Quicksand in late 2024 for those of us wondering why Orlando doesn't have a great wine bar like the ones we've seen in cities around the world for decades. ***Finding the bar: Quicksand is located directly next to Educe Salon (across from Black Bean Deli). It does not have a big sign, but it's the first door you'll see as you walk from the parking lot. ***Parking: Did I mention the large parking lot? There's plenty of parking available there, or on street behind the bar. ***Service style: As you walk in, head to the part of the bar closest to the entrance where you can get recs from their staff and don't have to try to bully your way through folks sitting at the bar to get their attention. ## Did I mention that everything here is intentional? From that simple detail that makes ordering another glass MUCH easier than flagging someone down in the middle of the bar, to the position of the speakers... *** The Food: Chef Leah Cordova has crafted a seasonal menu at Quicksand, currently consisting of sandwiches, small plates, and some heartier dishes. All of them have a focus on quality ingredients with many sourcing their components from local farms or special producers. My faves include: - Pan con tomate: The tomato here is actually a combination of fresh slices of small tomatoes as well as another preparation that adds a wonderful tang. It's truly a special version of this small dish. - Whichever salad they are featuring, but special mention to the carrot and red cabbage salad that has just the perfect amount of fennel! - The white bean dish. I didn't catch the name, but it's a winner! - Cacio e pepe: This is exactly the rich, creamy dish you are dreaming of. - Whichever ice cream they are featuring (Chef Leah also operated Sweet Thyme, her ice-cream project with inventive flavors. Faves include the black pepper and date as well as the carrot cake) ***Ambiance: As you walk in you'll feel enveloped in a warm glow of subtle sconces and feel immediately comfortable. It feels like Quicksand has always been here. It's unstuffy, unfussy, and so inviting it has me researching squatter's rights... The music will sound loud at first, but then you'll realize you don't have to raise your voice at all to talk to people. This is because the speakers have been built into the furniture low and towards the floor. INTENTIONALITY. Besides the volume, the playlist has been painstakingly curated by the team so that you'll enjoy the music, but not quite be able to place the artist. ***The WHY And now, my favorite part. The wall of farmers/winemakers. Someone on staff filled me in to the fact that these are portraits of the various human beings who farm, harvest, and create the wines you can get at the bar. These are actual people, not giant corporations. And that same staff member reminded me that these individual producers are farmers for 11 months and 2 weeks of the year, and wine makers for only 2 weeks. None of these people are household names. None of them are in it for the money. They are in it to produce beautiful wine the way it has been produced since the beginning of wine-making: with minimal intervention, meaning no insane additives that give me headaches; and no mass production. The thing I've come to love about "natural" wine is that it is intensely principled. Quicksand is what happens when *every single link* in the supply chain (Farmer/Producer; Importer; Distributor; and Wine Bar) prioritizes principles over profits. And you can feel it the moment you walk in. This is not a corporate chain, nor will you find multiple locations and franchises. Not only is the wine list filled with some of the most incredible bottles I've had the pleasure of trying (many of which you can't get anywhere else in Florida), but the staff truly believes in the power of creating this special "third space" for a community to gather around good, ethically-sourced wine. I can't wait until they start serving bites alongside the wine! (Someone told me the small menu will consist of cheeses, charcuterie, focaccia, chips, etc.) SALUD!

The staff was very knowledgeable about all of the different wines and helped to select the best glass for what I was in the mood for that evening. The bar was very clean and there is a lot more space then what you see when you first walk in. It was all very clean and modern looking inside. Looking forward to my next trip in.

They have comfortable seating and fans on the walls, which helped keep things cool and cozy. It's definitely a great spot to get together after work and wind down with friends, coworkers, or even new people. Trivia Night was a blast! The host kept everyone entertained, engaged, and laughing throughout the evening. It felt very well-organized and had a nice community feel -- I'd absolutely go again for that experience alone. A few things did surprise me, though. Since it's a wine bar, I expected mostly alcoholic drinks, but their Instagram made it seem like they also offered non-alcoholic options. When I asked for a soda, I was told they only serve alcohol -- no soft drinks, no mocktails. So if you're not drinking, plan to bring your own or grab something before you go. Later in the night, I got hungry. Their Instagram also gave me the impression that they served food, but they actually don't -- the food comes from a food truck around the back. When I went to order, the lady running the truck told me, "I'd rather sell out...," which threw me off. I wasn't sure what she meant, but it came across as rude or maybe even personal, which was disappointing since I was ready to buy something. That said, I don't hold that against Grape and The Grain itself. The staff inside were kind and welcoming, the crowd was friendly, and the overall vibe was great. For the atmosphere, comfort, and fun trivia experience, they get a full 5 stars from me. I'll definitely be back -- next time I'll just eat beforehand and bring my own non-alcoholic drink!

My dates pasta was also very good, the pesto sauce was zesty and complimented it well. And I really like the olive oil cake with mascarpone, super light and perfectly sweet. The very minor issues were that the fried chicken was pretty deeply fried and way harder than expected, which I don't mind but may not be your thing. Devil's food cake at the bottom of the affogato was also not as sweet as I would have liked. Overall a really enjoyable experience. Would definitely recommend.
