An Ivanhoe/Mills 50 area gem. I was given a gift certificate to Tim's Wine Market and decided to pop in for a bottle of vino for an upcoming "just because" event. Upon entering Tim's I was greeted by a very pleasant man that offered his assist me and give a tour of the store since I had never been. The store has various wines from around the world Carefully displayed throughout by regions/countries and types. There are many bottles to choose from - pinot Noir, Cabernet, Rioja, Sauvignon blanc, bubbles... you get the picture. I saw familiar brands as well as new ones. The are various price points here to satisfy any wine lover. I saw bottles from $10 to over $100. I picked up a rioja since I was in the mood for a good Spanish wine. I went to do a tasting at Tim's Wine Market with an organization that I'm part of. It was awesome! JP was our guide for the night. He put together a tour of the French regions that covered a lot of wines that I never would have thought to try! His descriptions were very detailed and he provided lots of information on each wine, the winery it's from, and the effect of the region's soil on the grapes. I left with a bubbling white wine that I genuinely never would've tried without this tasting. I also browsed some of their collection and they seem to have a wide selection of wines. I decided to take a break from the overwhelming Disney festivities and I ended up venturing around local places in Orlando. I'm so glad I was able to stumble upon this local shop. The guys that worked the shop were so nice! They checked up on me every now and then to see if I needed help, they were always willing to answer any questions I had & even took the time to show me where another store was. They have a nice selection of wines and even had a unique book that I was able to snag. The layout of the store is pretty simple, it was easily able to find what I was looking for. Prices vary from bottle to bottle but it's definitely on the cheaper side. They even have a membership if you're a local (think about a subscription box for wines - only you pick it up at the store!) Tim's Wine Market is a joy to work with. I am not very knowledgeable about wines and had to create and educational wine tasting for the Central Florida Fruit Society at Leu Gardens. Our sommelier, Marshall Bass, was in Scotland and the wines had to be available in both places. Tim helped me with tasting glasses for the in-person event, and an employee worked with Marshall sourcing wines. Tim shipped wines around the country delivering in time for the virtual aspect of the wine presentation. Not quite a wine cellar, but almost that type of store which is very fitting considering they sell wine and only wine. The lighting and simple floor pattern were warm characteristics of the shop overall and inviting as I examined their extensive wine collection. I enjoy a glass of vino every now and again, but am not a professional wine taster or buyer. I was thoroughly impressed with what I saw though. The wines were efficiently separated in rows by color and genre. Small tags displayed the price along with the year in case you couldn't read it on the bottle. Both rooms were filled with varying brands and levels of wine. I saw some pretty pricey bottles along with more everyday ones. I did notice a shelf entirely devoted to Champagne and sparkling wines. They even had a $199 bottle of the infamous brand Cristal. They sell Tim's Wine Market T-shirts for $14.95 along with glasses if you don't have a set of your own. They also have a wine/chill well that swirls about so you can chill your bottle before leaving. The associate told me that it's always kept at 35 degrees Fahrenheit. If you have a friend who loves a good bottle you might want to sign them up for the Wine of the Month Club. You can pick up each month's flyer at the store and read all about their selections. They offer neat facts and feature recipes that pair well with their wines. Very clever! read more

I've lived in this area since 2015 and for the amount of wine I consume, I am thoroughly ashamed I never visited Tim's until now (GOT Shame nun will follow me for days). Their selection of wine and knowledge by the staff is beyond impressive. PJ assisted me today in finding a wine that I enjoyed last year and in the process was able to fully break down what I was looking for and offered a perfect alternative that I am trying my hardest not to down as I write this review. As my Pinot Gris was fast chilling in this awesome chiller they have, he then went on to explain the area this wine came from and everything. I called all over town looking for a handmade wine glass of enormous proportions. The girl in the gift shop at Cooper's Hawk suggested I call Tim's. When I called, the manager Michael answered the phone and I explained my situation. He took the time to let me know what he had and it was EXACTLY what I had been searching for. I asked him to put my name on it and set it aside and that I was on my way. I looked them up on my navigator and headed out the door. Well unfortunately my navigator was a tad bit off and took me about a mile up the road from where they were. I called Tim and he told me where to go and I had no problem finding their shop. I was really taken back by the selection of wine they had. I took a quick scan of their shelves and saw a lot of wines I recognized. Better yet, the pieces were reasonable given the selection they offer. If you are looking for a bargain wine, they are not the shop for you but if you are looking for a good selection of quality wines to choose from, I am sure you will not be disappointed. Michael was kind enough to put up this glass for me since it is a gift for my darling wife. She has never let me stop hearing about the "Olivia Pope" wine glass. Well I decided to find that special glass just for her and after 30 calls, a young lady in the gift shop at Cooper's Hawk suggested Tim's. As we entered Tim's last Friday night, a woman inside was chasing her companion and trying to stab him with a pair of chopsticks. She seemed very proud and infinitely amused by this fact as she paused to show us her chopsticks. We laughed as she went back to drinking and chatting with her friends as we began browsing. An employee (who I would later judge to be at least a manager) came up to us with a glass of wine in his hand explaining that he and his friends were a little drunk. Hey, it's Friday night in a wine shop - I'd be surprised if they weren't. He asked if we needed any help picking out a wine - and what our preferences were. As my wife explained her tastes I expected him to start pushing us towards the more expensive wines on the shelf. To my surprise, he honed in on the moderately priced bottles and apologized that they didn't carry cheaper ones from the region my wife generally prefers. He also explained why certain styles of wines were becoming rarer from certain regions and was able to describe in great detail each bottle he brought to our attention. Even buzzed, this guy knew his wines inside and out. After selecting her bottle, they used their giant chiller to get the bottle nice and cold so she could take it to a party all ready to drink. Being a new customer, they took my wife's information and stored it so that her purchases could be tracked since everyone inevitably forgets which bottle's they've already tried. Also, as a new customer, she was given a special discount knocking off a couple of bucks from the price. Tim's may not have the selection of the chains, but with service like theirs, they don't have to. read more

Still my go-to place for great wine, at any price point. I love finding new, quality wines from wineries I wouldn't normally have exposure to. Now that Tim's has several locations, he has access (buying power) to some wines that otherwise would be limited to the wineries wine clubs. Wine classes are always informative and special events (tastings, wine dinners) are a treat! Get on their email list to get in the know. If you are in the mood for a splurg or looking for an amazing gift for a wine friend, the Reserve Club (quarterly) has amazing selections and then gives you a great solid case discount on any wine purchases. I've also enjoyed the wine of the month and the New World red club- if you are a fan of reds, the latter is your club. If you like red and white, the explorers (WOM) club is a better option. Nice exposure to many different varietals and regions. Love the staff, who is always fun and informative. If you have a particular type of wine that you like, let them know and they show you many like wines so that you have many options of new wines to try. No pretension, just good wine. read more

Everyone at Tim's is incredibly knowledgeable about the wines they are suggesting to customers. As a customer I feel like I get the opportunity to learn about wine every time I visit. They create tasting events and even have an amazing monthly wine program where we can receive Tims recommended wines. I joined the explorers program but there are many others you can choose from that not only give you a good deal on the wines but also give you an opportunity to grow your palette. I'm not a wine expert but I've heard that I could sign up for classes. I may have to take them up on their offer. read more

Last week LivingSocial had a deal where you paid $12 for $25 at Tim's Wine Market. I purchased two -- one at the Orange Ave. store and the other at the Windermere store. My experience at the Windermere store was wonderful My experience at the Orange Ave. store, not so good. I had been to the Windermere store the day before. They had a great sale on everything from inexpensive wines to my favorite, Silver Oak ($100 for $75), so I expected the same at this store. I had also seen lots of gift baskets in Windermere and expected the same at this store. Unfortunately, the Orange Ave. store had neither. I was looking for a gift and really wanted a gift basket, so I was disappointed as soon as I saw they didn't have any. However, since I was already there, I thought I'd go ahead and buy a couple of bottles of wine. I was completely ignored when I walked through the door. No 'hello', no offer for a glass of wine, nothing. This has happened to me every time I have gone to this store. Apparently, I don't have the right 'look' for someone who will actually purchase wine. I overhead one of the guys helping another customer so I ended up purchasing the wine he recommended to her. I might give this store one more try or I might just stick with the one in Windermere and Total Wine. read more

At the end of the evening, Steve helped me choose a great "birthday wine" to celebrate my birthday (although, as others have noted, he steered me toward several moderately priced choices until I helped him understand that birthdays are for $$$$ wine!). I went to Tim's Wine to buy wine for my wedding. I called ahead and spoke to Tim, the owner. He is a wealth of knowledge and had so many helpful hints when it comes to buying large quantities of wine. When I went to the store (Orlando), I was greeted immediately and had exceptional service. I do not know a lot about wine, so I was a little intimidated about choosing wine for 100+ people. Steve made me feel comfortable and walked me through it all. He was able to suggest the amount I would need, red vs. white ratio, and had some fantastic suggestions at reasonable price points...extremely important for a bride on a budget! I am not generally a fan of red wine and I LOVE the one he suggested for my wedding guests! I was able to taste it in the store and felt confident with my purchase before I left. I was invited to a special event at Tim's so I really cant give a 'normal' review as if I just walked in looking for wine... but I did want to say that i had a fun time that night with many of my friends and that the staff working with us all was amazing! I did take the time to look around and found about 50 wines I want! I over heard the man pouring the tastes of wine for our group giving info about each wine and suggestions on what we might like. I was so inspired that I did end up buying a bottle... which we drank with in 15 min... oh well... it was good! An outstanding staff that knows their craft. Tim literally travels the world to find the best of the best and passes his knowledge on to those that work there with him. No matter what your budget is there is something there that will exceed your expectations. We went to one of his tastings today that featured an outstanding sausage sandwich with potato salad paired with SiX different ciders and of course bought a few bottles of the delicious things. This was just one of the many events that he puts on monthly. There are also the wine clubs. I'm a member of the New World Red club but there are several others. Not only do you get 2 bottles chosen and reviewed with a recipe to pair with them every month but you also get discounts on purchases. Who doesn't like a discount? Do this, just walk in and ask them to suggest a wine to pair with a dish that you want to make or tell them what you like in a good drinking wine and see if they don't just put you in contact with the most perfect wine. if you really like great food and wine you need to stop by this place on a fairly regular basis. Oh, and don't be shy if you are new to wine. These guys are not pretentious or wine snobs at all. They love sharing what they know and will take the time to explain everything in easy to understand terms. Trust me, i love wine but know very little about the field and they always make me feel comfortable asking any questions or for advice. Randomly went there about a year ago in December. Literally went in to grab a bottle for my parents and whoever served us was very knowledgeable and helpful. I was curious to see if they carried a Lebanese white blend from Ksara, and despite not having it, the salesperson told me exactly where to find it. I love people who think service before profit. What a gem. Thanks to him, I bought a very nice Willamette Valley Pinot noir for my parents and got my long-sought after Lebanese wine. I have been a fan of Tim's Wine Market for a couple of years. I read an earlier post from someone who said they didn't get good service, and she felt it was because she didn't look well dressed enough...I just don't get that since the first time I went in, was probably in studio gear, with jeans and a little clay on my clothes somewhere. They seemed to overlook my mess totally, lol. I have always felt welcomed and valued as a customer. The type of service you get at Tim's makes you feel like an old friend by your second visit. They keep a record of what I buy, but they also remembered me and my likes and are quick to recommend something based on that. I love that they have small quantities of unique wines that you can't buy elsewhere. Of course the only problem with this is if you find one you love and want to stock up on it... It doesn't matter, there's always another one just as amazing. I just joined their "wine of the month" club and can't wait to pick up my first couple of bottles of "something new". Love, love, love Tim's Wine Market! I've been shopping there for several years and I love that I can always walk out with a new, interesting bottle that is reasonably priced. Tim and the staff sample thousands of bottles a year (what a great job!), but only let those through that are truly special and a great value for the money. I have had many a wonderful $10 bottle of wine from Tim's, as well as those on the higher end. Not only do they have a dynamite selection, but the customer service at Tim's is way above and beyond any other wine store I've been into in Orlando. The staff is professional, friendly, and they always remember your name. Based on my purchases and the wines that I've told him that I've enjoyed, Steve has always been able to steer me toward something new that he knows I will love (and I always do!). They carry wines from all over the world, and Steve always remembers that my home state is known in particular for its Pinot Noir and has a bottle ready to recommend. The entire staff seems to really enjoy their jobs (they've all been there for years) and they really enjoy ensuring their customers find wines that fit their particular tastes. My favorite thing to do is go in and tell the staff what I'm eating for dinner that night, and how much I am willing to spend. They always steer me to a bottle that pairs perfectly and fits my budget! If you enjoy wine but don't know much about it, Tim's is definitely not the kind of place where you will be stuck on your own staring at rows and rows of similar looking bottles. Someone from the staff will always assist you in your selections, but they are never pushy or overbearing. Tim's has been such a success because they genuinely create a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Tim has hired excellent people who are passionate about wine and are genuinely interested in making sure you walk out with a bottle that suits your particular tastes. Dan and Lee (Orange Avenue store) have helped me countless times. They are very patient and will take whatever educated or uneducated description of what you want, and will then give their breakdown of what they think will fit. After a few trips, I joined their explorer's club, which provides two bottles per month with detailed description of each month's selections and a recipe that goes well with one of the bottles. There won't be many bottles below the $15 range, but the quality (Tim seems picky about what he carries), customer service, and education make it more than worthwhile. read more
