First time visiting Zymarium Meadery and I was genuinely impressed. I came in excited to try a little bit of everything, so getting a flight was the perfect choice and honestly, I don't regret it at all. Each flavor had something unique going on, but my favorites were easily the Ube Noir and the pineapple habanero. The Ube Noir was smooth and slightly sweet with a really interesting twist, while the pineapple habanero had that perfect balance of sweet and a little kick at the end. Both stood out in completely different ways. The vibe inside was quiet, calm, and super relaxing perfect if you're looking to unwind or just enjoy your drinks without a lot of noise or chaos. Zymarium has a really beautiful decor and layout. You can tell that a lot of thought went into the construction, color scheme, holiday decorating and overall feel of the Meadery. There is a prevalent black and gold theme throughout, with an additional event space in the back. I have been purchasing Zymarium meads prior to the business actually opening. The owners, Joe and Ginger, have a strong social media presence and really do a good job advertising their business. They always have events going on and keep people interested in attending. The meads are all very solid, putting Zymarium in the top few Meaderies in the world based on ratings. The staff is generally very friendly and attentive. They mainly serve mead, but have a small menu of beer and wine. The meads are very unique so I'd give them a try even if you've tried mead before and not liked it. Zymarium was SO good. Super cozy, super stylish (gold + black everywhere), and such a welcoming vibe. The staff was amazing and explained everything really well, and the owner even came out to talk about how he makes the meads and which ones are limited vs. always available, loved that personal touch. Zymarium is my favorite bar/brewery/meadery in the Orlando area, heck probably the state. I've been going their since they first opened a few years ago and I still love it as much as ever. The owners are almost always there, Joe and Ginger, and they are really friendly and routinely chat with customers and go above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome. If you've had mead before, this is some of the best mead in the world. They're ranked extremely high on Untappd and they make both standard meads as well as the zero-water super meads that are in the same league as Schramms, Pips, Superstition, etc. If you've never had mead before, this is a great place to learn about it and try out a lot of different styles. They have straight honey meads with all different varietals of honey so you can see how much that impacts the flavor. They have fruited meads, session meads, and even some beers and wines if you need something different. If the mead isn't enough, the atmosphere is the best of any venue I've been in anywhere in the world. Truly the most amazing decor and ambiance around. You truly feel like you're in a private space with just you and the mead and some friends. read more

Neither of us have had mead before, so we got a flight to share. The happy hour included $5 off flights (they had other specials as well mon-Fri until 6pm). Such a great meadery that is modern with trendy flavors. Being at other meaderies that were more traditional, I prefer this one above all else! Got some samples of the ones that really interested me and they were all great but had to land on the Ube seasonal Slushies because I couldn't get a sample of that unfortunately. I am glad I committed to a glass of it because it was refreshing and delicious. Definitely a dessert in a cup and more balanced than the Ube noir, which I was informed it was super sweet and super dark Ginger, part owner, was so sweet and informative about everything foodie, Mills50 and her Meadery. Cool spot! I love mills, minus the lack of crosswalks to go back and fourth but, the options are awesome! This spot did not disappoint! The ambiance is super cool and what they did with the space was brilliant. They even have an event space in the back that was being rented out for D & D! Super cool! The mead is really good and there are many options! I did wish that the flights were smaller so that you could pay less. Sounds crazy but they do a full or a half and you can buy 5 halves as a flight but it's not at flight price. It's at the halves price. I'd rather an option for 2-3 ounce pours to try many of that makes sense. Then I can order a half or full glass after my sampling. The award winning very sweet Ube Noir was so interesting. I kept saying it smelled like a yankee candle! An easy sipper that ain't heavy is definitely the Ohi! We did not partake in any snacks but, we should have grabbed a bottle! LOCAL REVIEW: Zymarium Meadery is a cozy place with a chic, low-light interior. The customer service is very good as the servers are happy to educate guests about mead. There are enough options to leave you coming back to try more! The location is easy to find, but it does not seem to have dedicated parking (unless I missed it). There is a parking lot but it seemed more like it is for Hawkers next door. Be prepared to park there or look for street parking. What I enjoyed most was that the menu is easy to understand thanks for an explanation from the servers. I have visited twice and they are consistent in their explanation. They also seem happy to let you browse the menu yourself or make suggestions. The space is large but the seating is cozy. We loved the velvet seats and beautiful lighting. It's a great place to enjoy unique mead flavors and catch up with friends/family. The atmosphere makes you feel like you should be more dressed up, but I visited once looking very casual (athleisure) and I did not feel any judgment for it. There is even a secret space in the back of the room, somewhat hidden. There was an event that booked it while we visited and we couldn't even tell it was there. It looked like a cool space! On my two visits, my friends and I have enjoyed: - Ube Mead - Very sweet and slightly carbonated. The Ube flavor really shines through. I loved it! But it was too sweet for some. - Lychee Mead Slushy - Delicious! A tropical, honey flavor. - Endless Black Current - More similar to wine, but the black current flavor really comes through. - Brood Coffee - At first sight, a little odd that a coffee flavored beverage is a golden yellow. But when you smell it and taste it, the coffee flavor is definitely there. Less sweet, but you can still taste some of the honey mead flavor. My only reason to knock off a star is because I wish there were some little bar snacks. The mead is nice to sip on, so I wished there were some little snackies to munch on too. My husband loves mead, so when I saw Zymarium one day on my way home from work, I knew we had to try it! Zymarium is a stand alone structure in the Mills 50 district of downtown Orlando. Parking can be a bit of a challenge but they do have a larger designated parking lot close by. The interior is very sleek in mostly black with some gold light fixtures. Once you enter, you are warmly greeted and welcomed to take a seat wherever you choose. When you're ready to order, you may do so via the QR code on the table or by going up to the bar. The mead offerings are plentiful and made in house. You are welcome to bring in your own food, but they do have a small charcuterie box that you can order as well. My husband chose a flight of five meads and fell in love with the Endless BlackBerry so we purchased a bottle. Immediately upon walking in there was a unique and relaxed vibe about the place. Very different from traditional noisy bars. Sleek. Quiet. Well decorated and themed around honey, but tasteful. I FINALLY made it into Zymarium this week for the first time and WOW -- I can't believe it's taken me so long to get here. I got pregnant right when they opened last year, so this place has been on my list to try for quite awhile. I'm loving the red lighting and spooky vibes for the Halloween season right now. I felt like I stepped into a sexy vampire's lair. I've only tried mead once in my life and I was excited to learn more about it and try lots of different flavor profiles. My friend and I sat at the bar and the friendly staff gave us a rundown of the menu and poured us some water. They also have a seasonal "Dark Ritual" menu right now featuring some fun Halloween meads. They allow you to sample any flavors that you want before committing which I really appreciate. We decided to try a flight of all 5 Halloween meads and a signature flight of their suggested most popular meads. Zymarium took us on a flavor rollercoaster and we had a blast trying them all. They all ranged from sweet to dry and are made with honey from varying locations. The Halloween flight was definitely more on the sweet side with lots of cozy fall flavors. I think my favorite out of the 5 was the Scarlet Magick which is made with hibiscus and is actually a collab with Hunger Street Tacos. My two favorites from the signature flight were the first one (I forgot the name), but it's similar to a dry white wine and the pineapple habanero was AMAZING! I can see why that one is so popular, especially if you like a little spicy kick. I also sampled the Florida Lychee which I can't wait for my husband to try because I know he's going to love it. I was happy to learn that they have their mead available in bottles and cans so you can take it to go. I'll definitely be stopping in more often to scoop some up to enjoy at home! read more

We had never been here before, but we heard amazing things about this location and since we are in the area, we knew we had to check it out. Let's begin with the ambience as this place is absolutely stunning. Very sleek very modern design. It is dark inside, but it completes the whole aesthetic and vibe of this location. We absolutely loved it. Next, let's talk about their mead! They have so many different varieties from still to slightly carbonated to reserve labels and a wide variety of flavors to choose from. My husband opted for a 2 ounce poor of the blackberry and found it to be absolutely perfect. Not overly sweet, but you still got the essence of the blackberry that came through really easy drinker. I decided to try a flight as I could not decide on simply one or another. They have a couple of different flight options that you can choose from, you can create your own or you can do one of the predesigned flights or currently they have a deal going on for $50. That is a flight of their older means that have been aging and resting to celebrate their birthday. I offered to create my own flight so I could try a little bit of everything that I wanted to I ended up trying their most popular one, which is the Florida lechee and it easily became one of the favorites for both my husband and myself. I also tried the lake echo one which was a little bit dry on my taste buds - not my favorite. I also tried the apple pie and the cherry pie and found that both were really good. The tartness of the cherries definitely comes through on the cherry pie one. And then the last one I tried was their raspberry reserve. This became my absolute favorite. I really really enjoy the flavor here as it was not overly sweet, but enough, sweetness to make it very enjoyable. I actually was very surprised that their flight came with five and I think because of the higher alcohol content of mead, they could easily go with just four - my husband had to help me finish my flight. lol Really enjoyed our experience and will certainly be back! read more

We came in and sat at the bar where we were greeted right away and got lots of information about how the menu is set up and the different types of mead they have available. One of the coolest bars you'll find in Orlando. We tried Zymarium's Ube Noir at Kaya and immediately knew we had to pick some up for home (!!!). Lucky for us, they were still open that same night. I don't know much other than that, every time I have it, I realize I prefer it so much more to beer and wine-- yet can never find it outside of the occasional specialty stores. Stop on in and you can get samples of different mead variations ranging from bubbly, dry, or sweet. The ambiance is very modern and relaxing with great staff that are super helpful. It was not very busy when they opened which was nice and it looked like they had a good amount of seating space. The prices for the mead vary based on strength and the size of the pour. It can be pricey for some but still not an outrageous price or anything. Plus the mead is so delicious that I believe it is worth it to try at least, especially the deliciously sweet Ube Mead. Zymarium has easily become one of my favorite places in Downtown Orlando. They have such a unique story, offer an amazing experience and the most delicious mead you'll ever have. I've visited Zymarium a few times now, and they're menu changes often depending on the mead they have available. Not only do the owners make the mead with locally-sourced honey, but they've also designed the whole place themselves, and let me tell you, they've done a wondrous job. They have set flights so you can try a wide variety of meads, but you can also build your own flights. Zymarium is open seating, there's plenty of space like community tables for big groups or even comfy couches an intimate gathering. The menu is on a QR code designated to the spot your at, so you just order on your phone and they bring it out to you. They don't offer food, but you're welcome to bring food from outside. Since it's right next to Hawkers, my boyfriend and I love to order to-go from there and bring it over to Zymarium. My favorite meads so far have been the Florida Lychee, Pineapple Passionfruit, and even Pineapple Habanero. I like meads that are on the fruity, sweeter side, like the three I named. They also sell select meads in bottles and cans for you to take home. "I feel the need... the need for Mead!" No, not the 5 subject college ruled notebook, the drink! And if you're feeling that need too, then (Tom) Cruise over to Mills and check out this amazing new-in-2023 bar where they're serving up some delicious American Made craft mead. "Sometimes, you gotta say, What the F#*!", like I did as I knew nothing about mead before I entered. I left knowing a bit more as my Eyes were Wide open, not Shut. "I wanted the truth" about Mead! I refrained from screaming "Show me the Honey" as I was perusing the menu. After talking to the bartenders, I was trying to put together a flight of 5 and I found myself going back and forth like a bee in a dandelion field. I liked on the menu how they listed where the honey came from. After some deliberation, I finally decided (with some additional help). The bartenders were super helpful in deciding. They weren't busy twirling bottles around and pouring the mead from 5 feet into the air into a glass pyramid waterfall like they're in the movie Cocktail. They just politely poured the meads from the Taps (no, not the movie Taps). I didn't feel like an Outsider at all. 4 of the 5 I ordered were golden, like "The Color of Honey". The Blueberry one was dark blue. They have some that are sparkling (like champagne) and some that are not (still mead). They range from dry to sweet (like wine) and I learned that I like the ones on the dry side more than the super sweet ones. I enjoyed them all and also had a sample of one aged in a Brazilian Amburana barrel, which tasted amazing with a woody finish. The Brazilian was smooth, which was expected. I luckily sat at the end of the bar, leaving the obligatory bar stool between me and the people next to me. I turns out, that it's none other than Ginger, who owns this place along with her husband, Joe (great name, he has to be awesome, right?). She overheard me ordering and we started talking and she was explaining the meads and the nuances of each. She did the design of the space and wow, she did an amazing job. "Mission Accomplished!" I finally tried Mead. It opened in July 2023 (Born on the Fourth of July?) and it took me 7 months to give it a try. I even braved the Rain, Man. I plan on going back as Ginger indicated some new meads are coming soon, so I'm guessing they rotate some in and out. I sat at the bar on a Friday night and got good service.  It was still early around 6:30p so it was about a 1/4 full. The session meads are lower ABV and I am finding I prefer them better. Did a flight of 5, 3 sessions and 2 still and with the sessions I could pick out the flavors.  With the stills all I could taste was sweet honey. The Mead: Mango Lassi 6.5% ABV tropical mead - decent, has an after taste that I didn't care for.  The mango is nose forward. Florida Lychee 6.5% ABV tropical mead - absolutely delicious.  9ne 9f the best meads I've ever had. Madagascar Blueberry 6.5% ABV heavily fruited mead-   I liked this.  You can taste the strong berry flavor and has a bubblegum after taste. Coconut Grove 11% ABV sweet Coconut mead - meh Barrel Aged Tupelo "Cachaca" 16% traditional mead - meh I think this is a wonderful place to visit. read more

The attention to detail in their mead was evident in every sip. Each glass was a delightful blend of flavors, taking my taste buds on a journey I won't soon forget. The staff was very helpful and attentive at the moment of making up my mind. They have a really nice atmosphere, that helps a lot to sit down and enjoy their delicious meads. COQUITO MEAD!!!!! I almost cried. Because why have we not been making coquito with mead. This is amazing one of the best coquitos I've had. OMG I was so hype to write about the coquito that I almost forgot the other great seasonal mead. The barrel aged French toast- it's syrup. Seriously it is like drinking maple syrup. I want a half pour to bring home and pour on French toast for real. I sip this in between the mango lassi and coquito and had a great experience.
