Can you say Mead in Plant City Florida. That is where Three Hands Mead Company is. We found great Mead in a most unexpected place. Winning!!! Three Hands, asked Cody, what's up with the three hands. He said, there is just the two of us and it is great to have a third hand. And that makes so much sense. If you visit Three Hands, the first thing you will notice is the Bob Ross theme. Because he is everywhere, including on the TV. And when I say Bob Ross is everywhere, he is as prevalent as the honey combs. The MEAD: Not for the faint of Tart 14% ABV... oh yes .... this is delicious, the slightly tart cranberries balance out the sweetness of the mead Honey N Apples 11% ABV... this is a Cyser and not what I was expecting. I was thinking apple pie, but I got just great mead flavor. Just a tad boozy. You down with OBT? 8% ABV... yeah, you know me. This mead to me is perfect. Not too sweet and not boozy. Yummmm Clermont Cooler 10% ABV... tastes like a citrus nectar. Sweet, but really good. S.O.B. 8% ABV... this is a spicy orange mead. Great orange flavor and just slightly spicy. I loved it! FIRE!!!! Berries from the Bog 14% ABV... this is tart and it slapped me in the face. In my opinion, needs to be really cold to taste the most awesome. We stopped into Three Hands Mead in Plant City for a quick visit on our last trip, and we'll be coming back every time we're in the area! What a fantastic find! I'd heard about this place and was curious to try it, though I hesitated a bit since my husband isn't a wine drinker- but good news: they offer beer as well! Tha space is open, airy, and cozy at once. You can tell the design and decor we're thoughtfully planned with guests in mind- even the bathroom was impressive. Since it was on a Saturday afternoon, the crowd was light, but a few passionate regulars were there, just as enthusiastic as the proud owner, Cody. To make our experience even better, Cody shared the history of mead- one of the oldest drinks in the world, wine made from honey. Who would've imagined honey could be transformed this way? Their selection ranges from sweet to extra dry. I tried two of their dry options: Not for the Faint of Tart, a berry-forward blend, and Almost Bone Dry, made purely of honey. Both were delicious, refreshing, and not sweet at all. My husband gave in and tried the SOB and was surprised by how much he enjoyed it, especially for someone who doesn't drink wine. We truly loved our experience at Three Hands Mead. It's officially on our list of must-stop places whenever we're in Plant City. read more

Three Hands Mead is located in downtown Plant City. They specialize in mead which is an alcoholic beverage made from honey. This is really the only meadery around that I know of, other than Zymarium in Orlando. The taproom has bar and high top seating, as well as a couple of tables outside in the front. The bar top is unique, designed with tiles to look like honeycomb and including the company logo. They currently have 18 beverages on tap, 6 of which are guest taps of cider and beer. There are 12 meads on tap all of which I have tried. All of them are above average and some are excellent. #1 Not For The Faint of Tart was my favorite. Service is great. Each time I have visited, the owner is behind the bar serving. He is very knowledgeable and provides a welcoming experience. I would recommend Three Hands to anyone looking for a bar experience outside of the ordinary. If you're a brewery fan, give this meadery a try. read more

This place is SO cute. We did a 6 mead flight and then ordered some more. Many are super delicious depending on your likes. Mine was #15 chocolate covered strawberry. My partner's favorite was the #5 Clermont cooler. The owner is super nice and friendly. My favorite was the honey n apple and Citrus cooler, I like the sweet ones. We spoke with the husband and wife about the holiday pours coming and more bottles becoming available. Plant City had a few gems downtown and Three Hands is one of them! I don't drink a lot of mead, but it's a fun stop to try something different. I normally like to split a flight with a friend to try as much as possible. Mead is just a bit too sweet to finish on my own- but that's the nature of mead, not anything against Three Hands. read more

My brother and I planned a night in Plant City to check things out since I just moved here a couple of months ago. On this particular evening, the food truck/flea market Friday night event was going on. We checked out the little booths, ate from a food truck, and walked around a little. We then ventured over to Three Hands Mead Company. This section of town didn't look all that busy but inside Three Hands was packed. We found two seats at the end of the bar and got settled in. The bartender was around quick and welcomed us. We looked over the menu and both of us went with flights. Mead is basically honey wine one of my brother's favorite drinks. After this trip, I'm a big fan too. Mead is sweet and strong. Everything here was upwards of 8% to 14% ABV. The flights are smaller glasses and really allow you to taste a variety of flavors, strengths, and depth. Working through my flight, I was in honey heaven. The sweet, natural taste of honey permeated all the drinks. Each one had a different profile with hints of fruit. All fresh ingredients, Florida Orange blossom, and made in-house, the 8 meads on tap were out of this world. My favorite was the Clermont Cooler. If you've ever had one of those thin plastic vials of fresh Florida honey, it's like eating one of those. Then add fruit juices to get the perfect mix that honestly reminded us of fruit punch. I had to have a bottle of this to-go. Sadly, they are still working on that process and I look forward to being able to take some of that sweet nectar home. This is a cool place that just opened up downtown. They have 1 house mead and seltzer, beer, wine and cider for sale. It's open until 11pm, which is a shock in Plant City. I do wish they had more mead to try at this so called meadery, but because they are brand new I am giving them a pass. They really do need to offer more than 2 meads though if I'm going to come back. read more

After visiting for the first time Sunday evening (1/7/24), I'm sure this will be a favorite place to enjoy a fabulous evening out. The room is cozy, warm and inviting; a fabulous atmosphere to enjoy a most delightful new experience in adult beverages--MEAD. The flavors and varieties of this delicious drink are numerous, each one a unique taste sensation. Cody was serving this evening and was a most gracious host, offering samples of various meads, ensuring that we were enjoying each taste and choosing a full glass of our favorites. To make Three Hands even more enjoyable, I understand that there is a musician providing entertainment on the 3rd Friday of each month. I'm looking forward to my next visit--very soon. I have been waiting to try this place out and what better night to do it than Bar Night with Norma's takeout delivery! If you haven't been, Three Hands Mead is in downtown Plant City. There is street parking and if that is full there are some lots in the general area to use that aren't very far. It is in the same strip as Roots Tap Room and The Tipsy Bookworm. There are several bar height tables that seat 4 with stools, bar seating, and some cute tables for 2 against the back wall. We tried flights with a mixture of mead, cider and beer that were on tap. I liked the New Wave Lemonade mead. Tried the Honey and Apples and the OBT, they were both a miss for me. BUT this was my first time trying mead and I didn't know what to expect. The Black Eyed Peach Cider was amazing! They offer half and full glasses. We ordered a full and it was very small in my opinion for the price. In addition to what they have on tap, they have a cooler of all kinds of cool selections. Norma's was trying out delivery to a couple bars on the strip and had appetizer selections, and a couple meal selections. One of the absolute coolest new places in Plant City to hang out: Three Hands Mead Company is a meadery located in the newly renovated strip in downtown. They serve several different meads they make in house, as well as a few meads and beers from other companies. For those not in the know, mead is honey wine, so instead of using grapes, honey and potentially other fruits, are used. At this point I've tried most of their meads and I have to say, all of them are absolutely delicious, but their original orange blossom honey mead is one of the best ones I've ever had. They have truly perfected their recipe and it shows. If I still lived in Plant City I'd be hitting up Three Hands quite often, as it is a comfy place to hang out with friends. They've always got The Joy of Painting playing and the owners are incredibly friendly and great to talk to. If you're in the Plant City area, I cannot recommend this place enough, they absolutely deserve your business. And if you've never had mead, go try it! read more

Was looking for a brewery on our way back from Tampa and we stumbled upon 3 Hands due to the fact that we wanted to get away from the city. I can't say I'm a mead connoisseur, but we were incredibly impressed with how delicious and unique the drinks were. The theme of the place was also very cool and consistent, and we were pleasantly surprised that Bob Ross was the program of choice playing on the TV. Aside from the meads, the customer service alone is enough for me to write a 5 star review. The staff could not have been more kind, helpful, and engaging, giving us recommendations for other places in town, hooking us up with free ice cream, and generally just engaging in good conversation.
