I've been dying to go to the Wellborn for the longest time. On Saturday afternoon, I stopped by with friends. When you first walk in there's the cutest photo opp underneath the sign. Past it is a gorgeous garden with lots of seating and the Wellborn house. The interior of the house is so aesthetic, with an eclectic-vintage look too it. There's lots of cool art and lighting throughout the home. There's bathrooms even ball pits for photos, which is such a cute whimsical touch. We went to the upstairs bar and it was surprising quiet for a Saturday. The staff was super sweet and we spent a while chatting with them. They even brought out complimentary shots, which was very kind of them. We sat on the patio overlooking the garden while enjoying our drinks. It stayed quite lit so we were able to enjoy ourselves and just hang out I'm so glad I finally came here and can't wait to come back again! read more

Pros- Super cool art-deco, retro hotel. Room was huge, bathroom was massive with a killer tile floor, zero entry walk-in shower and a two person Jacuzzi tub w/jets. That part is cool as hell. Cons- A/C system didn't feel like it kept up, thank god I brought my own fan. Mattress was firm as the parking lot asphalt. Felt like I was sleeping on cold play dough, and they literally leave earplugs by the beds because the freeway is about 30yds away, and also the hotel bar is open til 1am Friday/Saturday nights with people coming and going and music playing playing. So if you're looking for a killer spot to check out for cocktails, and old Florida atmosphere, this it! If you're looking for a great, comfy nights rest...maybe check out a Hampton Inn. read more

Hotel bar in a cute boutique hotel under the 408. It can be a little tricky to find if you are not familiar with the area. Parking can be a little tricky as well out on the street. When we first walked in there was a large group in the bottom so we headed upstairs and grabbed a table. Everything is done via the mobile app, but we did have 2 servers stop to check on us. I asked to get some lime for my water and it never was brought over. We had ordered a round of cocktails, but be aware that if you plan on sitting and chatting keep an eye on your phone since your tab will automatically cash out after 20 minutes. Since we were chatting we didn't notice that and since already cashed out we decided to leave after one drink. The decor is cute, but it is an older building and has a strange odor when you first walk in, but I guess I got used to it since I didn't notice it by the end. read more

I went to The Wellborn for Sunday brunch and wow, it truly felt like a hidden gem in Orlando. Walking in felt like discovering a magical garden and stumbling upon a beautiful place to start the day. There's plenty of seating both inside and outside, which I loved. There's also a cozy fire pit area that seems like it would be perfect in the evening, so I definitely want to come back at night to experience that atmosphere. Inside, the space feels like a charming mansion with multiple living room-style areas where you can relax, play games, watch TV, or just enjoy the ambiance. We ended up sitting outside on the balcony patio, which had lots of seating and a really peaceful vibe. Even the bathroom was aesthetically beautiful, and yes, there's a ball pit in the bathtub! The staff mentioned that the balls are sanitized every day, which made me feel comfortable enough to jump in for a quick photo. Ordering food and drinks is done through an app, but servers still come by to check on you. Our server, Aneesa, was incredibly sweet. Even though she mentioned she was new, she did an amazing job helping us choose our orders and quickly getting answers to any questions we had. Not only Aneesa, but the entire staff was welcoming from the moment we walked in. You could tell they noticed our excitement (probably because it was our first time!) and they made us feel very comfortable. I've been wanting to come here for years and I finally made it over. I came with a semi larger party. We got there early and was able to get a larger table upstairs. The first thing I noticed was how large the space was with outdoor seating as well as plenty of indoor seating. The moment you step inside you get the retro feel of the place. It's like going to your grandparents' house in the coziest of ways. Ordering is easy you scan the QR at your table and can keep an open tab. They bring things out made to order as you order them. We got there early enough to take advantage of the happy hour specials for drinks that evening. I got two: the Matcha Martini and the Two Tickets. The martini was creamy and very matcha. It felt like I was drinking a matcha latte. Very dangerous. Haha. The Two Tickets was refreshing and fruity. I nice contrast to the martini. Food is served tapas style so you can share with the group or eat on your own. My main dish was the Brie Grilled Cheese. It was quite filling. The brussel sprouts were a nice mix is tart and creamy with the cheese. I ended my meal with the burnt basque cheesecake. It was sweet enough to satisfy but not an overly sweet dessert. My table also got the charcuterie to share. We all enjoyed our meals and had a nice evening. We opted to park in the parking garage next door with a short walk over. My favorite cocktail remains the Best Friend, as I'm a gin gal through and through, but everyone loved their seasonal cocktails as well. We went for the sliders, meatballs, and cucumber salad to split, and they were all tasty! The salad was probably my favorite of the small plates we got. I will admit, I don't always love ordering on the QR codes instead of with a human because I think it makes it less intuitive to ask for extra plates, etc from your server, but it is efficient and allows everyone to order with less confusion! That said, I do not really recommend eating here. The food and drinks are very expensive for what they are, and the quality does not always justify the price. The drinks used to be better the first few times I came, but lately they have been inconsistent. Service is also pretty slow and could use more attention. I recently went to their singles event and this place is always a vibe. The ambiance and mood is a 10/10. Loved that there was a DJ and always something to see. The garden/house is beautiful! We were able to pull together chairs outside to all sit together. You order everything through a QR code on your phone which is amazing for large groups! I've come here on nights out to grab a drink and a tapa or two, but it was my first time coming for brunch this past weekend. First of all, you'll find an area that you and your party want to sit and scan the QR code that is on the table. Unfortunately I didn't get a physical menu to take pictures of, but you can scan the QR code I posted to look at their current prices! You'll order through that QR code at the table, and the staff will bring your orders to that specific table. I loved the $25 mimosa flight! It's a bottle of champagne with 2 juices. My friends and I took turns buying the bottle of champagne. I definitely think this was a cheaper option for us versus doing bottomless mimosas anywhere else. My Brioche French Toast was perfection! My favorite parts were the fresh fruit and the mascarpone cream. We also had some Jamon Croquettes that were super duper tiny sized but super delicious (I'm a croqueta chica). My friends got the breakfast Papas Bravas Hash that were excellent! The Avocado Toast looked a little sad comparatively to the other dishes on the table. I would absolutely come back for brunch! What I will not do is come here for tapas on a night out. This was months ago, but I very vividly remember ordering a paella to share with my boyfriend one night here and laughing so hard when it came out and we saw how tiny the paella was. It was still a good paella, but I will for sure never order that again here because it was pricey for the size. It's been a minute since I was last at The Wellborn. I've been plenty of times for happy hour and evening drinks at the House Bar. The cocktails are always festive depending on the season and they really go all out with decor for each holiday. We decided to check out their weekend brunch with the baby and soak up all the fall vibes & gorgeous weather. I'm so happy it's finally starting to cool down enough to enjoy patio dining. They have a beautiful courtyard filled with pumpkins and cute photo-ops for fall. They are also have cooling units throughout the courtyard, keeping the temps very comfortable. The day we went, they were hosting the Collective Corner makers market, so it was fun to shop around at the local vendors. I'm glad to see that they've also expanded their parking options (this was always a challenge in the past) and that the outdoor space is stroller friendly. Upon entering, you feel like you're heading into a secret garden. It's all open seating, and we were able to grab and empty table outside. They only do QR code ordering at the tables which I'm fine with, and the servers run everything to your table. It made ordering quick & easy and I appreciate that you can pay the bill with ApplePay. Pro tip -- Be sure to only scan the QR code where you want your food/drinks delivered because each code is linked specifically to that table. We decided to order their mimosa flight to start which is a pretty good deal. For $25 you get a bottle of bubbly in an ice bucket with your choice of 2 juices and the number of glasses you wish. For food, we chose the brioche French toast ($14) and the shrimp & polenta grits with added fried egg ($19), a side of bacon ($8). The French toast was beautiful and both dishes were very tasty. I will say the portions are pretty small for the price. It was just enough food for us to be satisfied, so if you're super hungry, you'll definitely need to order more dishes than we did. Overall, we really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere, and I'll definitely be adding this into the brunch rotation. read more
