Girls to chat, eat and drink. They're happy hour. Selections cannot be beat whether it's libations or bites. Service here is super friendly and attentive. They are also very helpful when deciding which menu item to choose. The enthusiasm from the servers hostesses and bartenders regarding their food and drinks is just as intoxicating as their drinks. Our party of four visited for the first time on a weeknight while in Orlando for a conference. Really like the setting in a charming area near Lake Baldwin. The inside of the restaurant has lots of interesting features and ambience. We really enjoyed all of the locally-sourced food dishes and drinks we tried except for the margarita they made for one of us that wasn't on the menu. We were disappointed by the number of menu items that were unavailable - an entree, one of the two vegetable sides, and two of the four dessert options on what is already a fairly short menu. If it had been a busy weekend night, that might have made sense but not on a slow weeknight. Felt like poor planning that could have easily been avoided. This weekend was my first time dinning at the Osprey. Had no expectation going in other than a friend telling me it was good. We had a reservations at 6:10 PM and we noticed that they have a happy hour until 7 PM... and who does not like happy hour! We pretty much ordered most of them and they were very tasty. Unfortunately, I could not try them all due to allergies. I communicated my allergies and Jacob were able to provide recommendations, even went back to the chef to confirm that some were same and even provided me options like veggies (instead of crackers) so I could enjoy the fish dip. I could not taste the slider or the calamari by my friends liked the calamari not the sliders so much. However, everything else was excellent. I ended up also ordering the local fish, which was excellent . And due to my allergies, I couldn't enjoy any desserts on the menu, but Jacob was super accommodating to serve me some ice cream and glad he did. It tasted homemade. The restaurant is at an excellent location. We learned that the first Friday of every month outside they have some vendors which made it great to walk after. The restaurant itself was clean including the bathrooms. Parking was a little bit more challenging, but thankfully, I was able to find something on the street. It's been a few years since I've dined at The Osprey. I used to come here often, most times because they do a good happy hour, and they still do but I noticed that some things have definitely changed. One of my favorite happy hour items use to be their fish dip. It had this intense smokey flavor and various seasonings like fresh dill and capers. No capers that I could see, the smoky flavor was so subtle that I wondered if it was even smoked at all. It used to come with house made chips and now they've downgraded it to ritz crackers which I have to admit, was a huge let down. I know things are getting more expensive but just charge the extra buck or two for the house made chips, don't give me some cheap crackers from a box. Oysters are still very good, the calamari was still good. A new item on the happy hour menu this time was the grouper sliders and those were just not good I'm sorry to say. The fish tasted dry and it was bland; I literally only took a bite and left the rest. Someone in our party ordered the steak frites and I got to try some of that; very, very good! I would definitely order that again. My favorite thing I have to say were the mussels and frites. I wanted to drink that broth like soup, soooo flavorful! Amazing service! Jacob could not have been more attentive to our needs! And that's one of the reasons I'll keep coming back to the Osprey.... Another great visit to the Osprey! This time I tried the mussels and the smash burger - and of course we came for happy hour! Love that happy hour extends to Saturday. The mussels were actually a big standout and some of the best I've had recently - I'd definitely order again! They came with a side of fries which was a nice touch. Beautiful restaurant located close to Lake Baldwin. We had reservations for brunch at 11 am. When you walk in you will notice a large bar in the center of the restaurant. They also have an open kitchen where you can view the chefs whipping up your order. The place was pretty empty but had filled up a little bit more by around noon. Prices are steep but the food was high quality and fresh. Our waitress was prompt and attentive to our group of 6. I ordered the wedge salad and a side of poached egg. The egg was perfectly poached. My wedge salad was very tasty and had a large piece of bacon in top with plenty of blue cheese dressing which I loved. It had some caramelized onions which added a bit of sweetness in addition to some raw red onions. I would've preferred more onions but didn't ask for more so that's on me. One of my friends ordered the shrimp and grits with the hot sauce on the side. She was not a fan of the grits saying it lacked flavor and was very buttery. When she added the hot sauce over the top which is how it was intended to be served, it was more palatable for her but she couldn't finish it. Another friend was able to swap the grits for spinach. I'm not sure if there was an extra charge but it was nice that they accommodated her request. For drinks, a few of us ordered the carajillo from the brunch drink menu for $10. Went here for a quick happy hour and had the steak frites and it was delicious! The steak was cooked perfect to order. I always have mine well done but not burned or dry. Usually it doesn't come out the way I like it when ordered at other places, but The Osprey knew what they were doing. They are a great selection of happy hour cocktails as well. For my 2000th review, I wanted to review one of my favorite restaurants in Orlando (besides Taco Bell, of course). I'll start by saying I felt like an Osprey (seafood eating bird of prey) eating here. Oh what I wouldn't give to fly around the restaurant picking food from every diners' plates and head into the kitchen with my Osprey gang and prey upon every delicious morsel of seafood at this place. On our first trip, we had the petite seafood tower and wow, what a dish. I'd be happy with this and a few cocktails honestly. The Amberjack was also very delicious and a good backup for the Snapper, which they (sadly) ran out of. The second trip was a tasting dinner and it was out of this world amazing. There were 6 of us and the staff at the restaurant was so hospitable and amazing. Our server Alex was outstanding and set all of the wine pairings with the food and she did an amazing job. I wonder if she knows what wine to pair with a Taco Supreme? I bet she does. There were 9 courses spread over almost 3 hours and we all left super full. I won't review each course, but know that each was made with fresh ingredients, creativity, and love. Everything from the charcuterie grazing board to the oysters and scallops to the lobster roll to the tilefish to the steak to the desserts was fabulous. Thanks to Amber who put the whole thing together along with the chefs in the kitchen who came out after to say hi. Also thanks to all the staff who assisted with the delivery and plate clearing. Let's not forget the dishwasher who earned their pay in washing silverware alone! Great restaurant with a great atmosphere and wonderful staff. If that isn't 5 stars, then I don't know what is! I am giving a four out of five for my overall experience. This restaurant is beautiful and most of the staff were great! My experience was hindered by how cold I felt in the restaurant even with wearing a light jacket. It was a cold night and the restaurant AC was also blowing. I would like to say that outside my discomfort, the food and my experience with our server was phenomenal! I tried west coast oysters which have become a favorite of mine now! Absolutely delicious! My food was flavorful and the various spices danced around my mouth! I was well satisfied after my meal. I also enjoyed the warm cookie given out after our meal. I highly recommend this restaurant but be sure to dress warm or bring an extra layer! This location is great for dates and groups. If you love oysters and fresh seafood - The Osprey is a must! They have a pretty extensive collection of Oysters, ranging from Florida, East Coast, West Coast, and others! I personally liked the Florida oysters the best, and they have an oyster happy hour Monday - Friday! The baked oyster really won me over - it was savory and delicious. Quite filling too! I also appreciated the creativity of the Tuna Tartare, served in an Indian-style Pani Puri! I wish it had a little extra something, it needed a little more flavor (spice? Truffle? Came for a recent Sunday dinner and the service was top notch - very professional, checked satisfaction throughout, etc. We ordered scallops with polenta and the branzino - both were great, but I was surprised to like the branzino more. When the Magical Dining menus come out every year, I examine each one, assign them a score, and go to the top five or six. Every year, no matter where the restaurant is, or how many times I've been there before. I lucked out this time, though, because the Osprey's menu was banging, and I had never been here before. This was my opportunity to strike. Ambiance was upscale old world Florida. I can't explain why. You'll hopefully just agree with me when you see it. It was accentuated by the Ernest Hemingway quote on the wall. It was a very beautiful spot, like each of its sister restaurants. Service was on point, too. Our server had a good command of the whole menu, especially the drink menu. She guided me towards the right mocktail to pick. She checked in on us the right amount, and the food came out promptly and of proper temp all night. Bravo. As for the food, I'll outline it here. Apps Josper Roasted Pork Belly (stone fruit bbq, grilled summer greens). This was their 20th anniversary dish, and it was excellent. Well cooked, massively thicc slices of pork, accented well with the sweet bbq sauce, and those green were nice, too, like a skinnier bok choy. Very good. Crush Puppies (blue crab, Florida sweet corn, green goddess). These, on the other hand, avoid these like the plague. Don't get me wrong, they were fine, soft hush puppies with a crisp exterior. But the fact that blue crab was the first listed ingredient was laughable. There were a few molecules in there, but really, just skip this and get the Smoked Fish Dip. Mains Swordfish Milanese (bagna càuda aioli, broccolini, meyer lemon). This thing was wonderful. It was pounded and breaded, like a swordfish schnitzel. It sat atop of a nicely spicy aioli and there was an acidic tang from the lemon around. The broccolini was a non-issue. Broccolini is such a useless veg. A very good dish overall. Squid Fusille (pesto, marinated tomato, meyer lemon). Excellent, unique pasta dish! Tender, delicious squids swimming around a good amount of fusille, a wonderful pesto throughout that was accented perfectly with chunks of pecans sprinkled atop the dish. Pops of those acidic tomatoes every once in a while, just a well composed dish. Desserts White Chocolate Panna Cotta (brown butter streusel, apple butter). I love a good panna cotta. This one was white chocolate to a T. Perfectly sweet, contrasted against the very sweet streusel and the very tart apple butter. This dessert was very fun. I recommend. Cannoli Trio (orange-cardamom, lemon pistachio, chocolate hazelnut). I love a flight. These cannoli were definitely not traditional, so if you're Italian, beware. But they were each filled with lovely cremes that were very strong and fragrant. Each one unique, each one delicious. A great way to end the meal. Overall, this was a stunner of a meal. Can't go wrong with coming here for Magical Dining this year. read more

It is in an amazing location and has very attentive staff. My husband and I went for happy hour and it did not disappoint! We started with an old fashioned and Osprey Spritz, so good, we had 2 each. 3.5 Stars Fresh seafood, a stylish atmosphere, and good service. I've come here several times over the past few years and I think everything here is good. I think my favorite thing to eat here is their Oyster Happy Hour; it used to be $1, then $1.50, and now $2 (RIP $1 Oysters). The oysters are fresh and taste amazing; they source locally and provide support for building oyster habitats. I love that they provide both cocktail and mignonette sauces, and are super generous with their lemons. The other seafood is ok. Everything is cooked well, but I think the overall flavor and portion sizes are lackluster given the prices. I can't say that anything I've eaten here (except the oysters) is worth raving about, but it's solid, good food. Service is a win here! We visited the osprey on a Friday night. We had a reservation, and we were seated immediately. The menu here really had so much interesting stuff that we wanted to try, but neither of us really like stone fruit so we were much more inclined to play it safe. Being in season, they were using a lot of stone fruit on the menu. We started with a half dozen mid Atlantic oysters and calamari. The oysters were lovely, served with a really nice mignonette, horseradish, cocktail sauce, lemon, and another sauce (can't remember what it was). The calamari could've used a little less time in the fryer - the outside was crispy, but the inside was pretty chewy. For mains, I was very tempted to try the pasta they had, but I'm a sucker for anything corn so I had to go with the fresh catch. The buttered popcorn purée was honestly so lovely that I have no regrets about the decision. The fish was cooked perfectly. The only drawback for me was the mostarda - I think that it cut through the richness and heaviness well, but it was just too sweet for me. I would've been happier with something citrus or just less sweet instead, but overall the dish worked. I was much happier with our visit this time, and I'd probably recommend the osprey to those in the area. The service was really good, and I like the way they've decorated their interior. Went last night for magical dining/girls night out. It was my 2nd time here and their 1st. The restaurant was pretty busy but thankfully we had reservations. I highly recommend reservations especially on the weekends. Parking is a bit tricky but there are nearby lots. The osprey is in the heart of Baldwin park. If you are not familiar with the area it is really pretty and we'll maintained. Very walkable and great for a date night. Plenty of bars nearby, a brewery and a cigar bar right around the corner if you want to extend your day/night out. Our server was Amanda and she was amazing from beginning to end! She was really helpful with recommending the perfect cocktail for my friend and super attentive throughout. I had the crush puppies for my appetizer, swordfish Milanese for my entree and panna cotta for dessert. Also had an espresso martini and old fashioned. Everything was top tier! I had to take half my meal home so I could enjoy dessert there. The portions are plentiful. My friends and i made sure to get different items so we can all try a bit of everything. There were no complaints at all. Everything was so flavorful and delicious. You can tell the chefs are super talented and they use quality ingredients. After finding out that all seats were full for Seito Sushi, I decided to make a reservation for The Osprey instead. I am so happy I did. It was a nice crowd when I arrived, but I was seated at 8:15 during my reservation time. I did the magical dining menu for 40 dollars, as well as having an old fashioned (16 dollars) for my drink. The old fashioned was boozy and enjoyable while I waited for my food. I took the pork belly 20th anniversary special for my appetizer. It was one of the best I had. The pork belly was tender and flavorful with the stone fruit BBQ sauce. It almost melted in my mouth. The wonderful flavors gave my taste buds a piggy back ride. I waited a while for my entree, the salmon. It was well worth the wait. The salmon came to the requested medium rare. It was fresh, tender, and juicy. There kept the skin on, but it was easy to peel it off. The charred cabbage was cooked very nicely, and the shishito peppers added a good flavor. The sauce was rich and had a citrus and wine taste, making it enjoyable. For dessert, the tiramisu was light enough for me to finish, but I did taste something a bit old and gooey. However, I still enjoyed it. The service was very good and helpful. I am so happy I followed my servers recommendations as they were all enjoyable. While I did wait a bit for the food, the cocktail made me relax to the music and crowd, and the excellent quality of the food made the wait worth it. The atmosphere looked upscale with the darker lighting and the crowd talking, but nothing too loud or overbearing. The bathrooms looked clean and smelled nice. Parking can be busy during Saturday night, but normally there is free parking in the Publix complex. It's a short walk afterwards. Happy hour in mid October: We stopped by for happy hour and had such a great time. The food was seriously delicious, and we were especially into the crush puppies and the fish entree. We split a tray of the fish of the day, which was amazing--super tender, perfectly seasoned, and the sauce was light and just right. The fish melted in my mouth. I was so happy with my choice of cocktail. Their version of Aperol spritz is better than the original one if you're into mildly sweet cocktails. For dessert, we went with the deconstructed cheesecake, and it did not disappoint. Osprey - Magical Dining I had not been to the Osprey in Baldwin Park in a couple of years and the most recent visits were for happy hour or brunch, which were both great. This visit was no exception and I'd highly recommend it. The area is hard to secure parking as you have to find a parking lot without restrictions or park on the street. It's directly across from Seito Sushi, another fave of ours. This occasion we arrived in time to hit happy hour and magical dining (always a goal of mine!). They have a solid happy hour with several apps and great drinks too. We selected the crab fries, 2 fish tacos and the French onion dip. The fries were so good but quite heavy, so keep that in mind - best to have at least a few people sharing them. The tacos - I only had a bite and saved for later because they were super stuffed and I had a big meal coming. That fish was so fresh and incredible. The onion dip - I haven't had one this good - it was made with crème fresh and actual onions lol. It was hard to stop eating and a very large portion too. We took home a lot of this. For our MD apps, we both had the creamy clam chowder. It was adequately seasoned and quite good. The mains were the rainbow trout - the entire fish - and Prime flank. The trout was flakey and cooked so perfectly that it was divine. Huge portion and took almost all of it home. It was just as good the next day. The steak was delicious. We have had more filet recently so it was not the same but excellently prepared and seasoned. The hollandaise was wow. I ended up using that for my eggs the next morning. For the dessert, the cheesecake and the chocolate peanut butter 'pie' were both delicious. They were both prepared in a glass dish. I would order all of this again!!!! Check, check, and let's call it a check minus on the ice. Still great. Ordered a few appetizers off the happy hour menu too. Oysters, the mid Atlantic, were excellent. Fresh, meaty, and great accompaniments. Also had the crab fries. Big chunky seasoned fries, a cheese sauce and huge chunks of crab. Darn good, and would definitely order again. Also, a fish taco, just because it sounded good, and it was good. Just good, not mind blowing, but good. Last, we had the tuna nachos. Now, it says tuna chili in the description, but like most people I would believe, I assumed that meant ahi tuna in a chili aioli. I was wrong. It was a full chili, that honestly tasted like it had beef and yellowfin tuna in it. It wasn't bad, in fact, it was pretty good and larger than I anticipated. Just not what I expected. The osprey was our Sunday brunch pick this week. Tons of pros and a short set of cons, but the cliff notes version is that this is a great spot to bring your littles for a long and lazy brunch so long as you are well prepared. Pros; Our server Jake was absolutely top notch. He knew the menu inside and out, he brought food for the kiddos so fast it could make your head spin and he was on top of every plate change and modification. Everything photographed beautifully. The kids brunch was the most delicious thing we ordered tbh. At 8$ it is worth every penny. The potatoes were crispy and fluffy and perfectly seasoned. My littles ate every speck of scrambled egg and the bacon was beautifully crispy. Cons; I think their chef dislikes salt. Even the Bloody Mary needed more salt. It was surprising. The best seasoned dish was in fact the kids meal. I think the descriptions of the items in the menu do not well match what is presented. We ordered the crispy breakfast potatoes and were expecting something akin to poutine. Instead the entire plate tasted intensely of woodsmoke. Wonderful if you are expecting it but very overpowering if you are not. The Szechuan crusted tuna; I'd expect spices to be, well, spicy. This dish is beautiful but lacked flavor. And the spring tomatoes was the most complex and interesting dish, but had our waiter not explained that there would be a raspberry sorbet and the dish would be somewhat sweet, I would have been very disappointed. Also this is a little thing but if a restaurant offers bruleed grapefruit I expect the grapefruit to be a bit more prepared than just cut in half. It was a bit embarrassing to struggle with an unsegmented citrus coated in whole leaf mint and pistachio. I will definitely try the osprey again, but maybe not for brunch. Also trust your server! The osprey is one of my favorite restaurants to go to. I haven't had a meal there that I didn't like. The service is good too. They are willing to make accommodations for different dietary restrictions. It's a cute place for a girls brunch, date night, or a family dinner. read more

I only ordered a couple of things that were from the kitchen... they were OK, I liked the fish and chips but the rest of what I ordered was just decent. (Fish Tacos were bad, calamari was decent/good) The oysters, however, were exceptional. Very fresh; which was surprisingly as I'm very picky about oysters. Overall, I was very happy with the service and the ambiance. I will be returning. read more

I was happy to third-wheel with best friend and her bf because the food was just so good! The surrounding area is so cute and this place is a big reason why! I found out about The Osprey through their sister restaurant, The Monroe. What got me there was a marketing email for an Easter brunch that caught my attention and I couldn't pass up. To start off this location gives palm beach vibes and has street parking with a garage walking distance nearby. We had a reservation which I recommend. Upon entry, I really enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. The setting is nice and so is the decor. It's not a very large space. Shoutout to our waitress Maggie, she was really helpful walking through the menu and we ordered her plate recommendations and they did not disappoint. The prime rib sandwich was absolutely delicious. I don't usually order ribs and I loved it. The serving size was just right, it came with fries and It also came with a side of soup or sauce to dip in or spread and it was just wonderful. It tasted great. I was really happy with how our food came out. The rolls are also fabulous. I like that most of their items are made fresh in house. Sadly, the cinnamon roll was sold out so we missed out but would love to try it sometime. I also ordered the "spice up your life" mocktail and I need to know what kind of ginger beer is used. It was soooo crisp and spicy. I like ginger beer so if you can relate try it but you made need some water, that's how strong it was! Absolutely wonderful staff. Our waitress was amazing guide to the Osprey show. She really took care of us. Attentive and helpful recommendations! Our table was well taken care of. Calamari, crabcake & hush puppies were delicious! Hot and fresh. Lovely ambience. I enjoyed the art . The salmon was excellent! Rigatoni bolognese was great. Creamed corn side was nice. i was highly recommended to try the osprey on several occasions, and after this evening, i honestly wish i hadn't. i'm not sure if what i ordered was just not the best to choose, or the kitchen was having a bad night, or it was all just bad in general, but i felt like some of the things i tried were awful. and that says a lot, because i never feel this strongly about having a bad meal EVER. because i don't ever really have any. so with how highly rated this restaurant is, i was in shock. none of the entrees really caught my eye and wooed me so i decided to just have several appetizers. i started off with the ceviche, which was made with sea bass, and it tasted so bad and so fishy, in the worst possible way. i could not finish it and i passed it on to my s/o, who struggled to finish it himself. i couldn't even tell if the fish was raw or cooked, but the taste was so awful, and this was not even close to being authentic-type ceviche. i get that some places can make their own version, but even with this "experimental"-type dish, it did not taste good at all. next, i decided to try the caesar salad, which i had high hopes for, because truly, who can mess up a caesar salad? BOY was i wrong. it tasted so bland that i asked for more dressing to see if it could be saved. and seeing anchovies on top of the salad laid out was kind of a jump scare. but anyway, i sampled the dressing alone before pouring the rest on, and it tasted like unsalted whipped mayo with a hint of garlic. this was not true caesar dressing. i could have a better caesar salad at texas roadhouse. still, i poured it on to try to make the best of it, even added a ton of salt and pepper, and it was still no use. i could not finish this either, but i gave it to the waiter to take away, stating that i really did not like it, hoping it could maybe be taken off the bill, but it was not. i had the calamari next, which was my saving grace, because it was pretty decent. this was the only thing that kept me from starving the whole night. as well as the hawaiian rolls. those were not too bad either. i did try an oyster as well from someone else's plate, and i have had them before elsewhere, but even the one i did eat tasted wayyyy too fishy. i'm not sure if they were given "cheaper quality" oysters because it was happy hour, but i was told the quality wasn't what it used to be with the oysters and several other items that were ordered. someone else in my party ordered a sandwich (unsure if it was the grouper or the burger) and literally sent it back because it was so oversalted, they said it tasted inedible. several people in my party were regular customers for birthday occasions, but even during this visit, they were very disappointed in the quality of the meals and were debating choosing a new place to celebrate next year. it sucks to eat bad food, but it sucks even more to spend A LOT on bad food. we heard rumors that management has changed, and maybe that lead to the decline in quality. i will most definitely never return and i will gladly spend my money at seito or la bella luna next door. read more

Came here for birthday dinner! Everything was perfect, the staffs are attentive and recommended dishes we can shared within the table. The service is excellent, for any occasion they will make you feel so special!! Highly recommend the calamari and crush puppies to share. Flank steak was decent as well. After all the years of wanting to check this place out I must say it exceeded my expectations. My father drove just over a thousand miles to visit for his 70th birthday and my wife and I decided to take him here for dinner. I did make a note in the reservation that it was a celebration dinner but what happened next I did not expect. The hostess who's name I have forgotten (she was great) quietly dropped off a birthday card signed by the entire staff working that night. To say that my father was touched would be an understatement. Our server, Chelsea, was phenomenal. She guided us through the menu and took amazing care of us on a very special night. I will for sure request her next time. Dad had the fresh catch of the day, my wife had the Branzino, and I had the lobster bucatini; all were amazing. We are looking forward to our next visit! read more

I have always enjoyed the osprey, especially for dessert and dad jokes. We went to enjoy magical dining and we sure did enjoy it. The food was impeccable and the staff was great. I really enjoy the low lighting at night and decor, it feels elegant, yet homey. read more
