Casey's is a somewhat small dive bar with cheap drinks, fast service, complimentary popcorn and live music. It's a bit small for the amount of people they pack in here and there's only 1 toilet for men and another for the ladies which meant there was nearly always a line with a few people waiting. The live music was good and the crowd seemed to enjoy it with some singing along and dancing, but it did get loud. In fact, when we arrived here the musical group was on a break and the place was full. Once the band started up again, patrons started filing out, possibly due to how loud they were playing. By the time they got to their 3rd song, the place was about 1/2 empty. read more

The service is average at best. We're seated at a table across from the bar. If you park yourself at the actual bar, you might have better luck. There's a popcorn machine, so I guess you can grab some, but I'm not sure. Aside from security at the door, no one greeted us or showed us a menu. This is a must-stop kind of place if you're going downtown Orlando - super fun, casual vibe. Popcorn machine on deck. Twisted Tea on draft?! You don't see that everywhere! Was visiting my family in Orlando. My aunt and I wanted to go out for the night. She recommended Casey's where her and my uncle frequently go. We were able to sit on a high top table outside and enjoy the night and people watch. Walking around, looking for a good place to hang out for the night, we hear some good music coming from Casey's so we decided to check it out. Small bar, laid back, very casual, and a good list of beers and moonshine titled "Crafts, Drafts and Shines" on the blackboard, plus full bar. We sat at the bar and Todd, out bartender, immediately took our order. 4 strong, filled to the top drinks for about $23 is a good deal. I looked at the moonshine menu and after talking to our bartender, decided on the Strawberry one. He takes out this mason jar and pours generously into a short glass. Taste is sweet, I can definitely taste strawberry, and the alcohol... I do not recommend having more than one of these, I think this would creep up and, although it might contribute to a fun night, I don't know what the morning would feel like. So, trying to avoid that I took just that one and stuck to my other drink. The bar is good for meeting people, music is not so loud that you can't talk, plus, like I said, the environment is so casual, and laid back, it just invites you make new friends. Casey's is the best damn bar in Orlando. Walking down Central you can't help but be drawn in by the live music performed by talented local artists. Covers of every song you want to belt out and shake your hips to. There is indoor and outdoor seating and the place fills up with locals and visitors who know of its good vibes. The bouncer at the door is cool as hell and always tells me to get on in there because he knows I belong. Once you step in you can't help but dart your gaze across the ceiling and walls. I've been to the Louvre and Prada and after a few of their heavy poured drinks, they stand no chance to this decor. The stage is quick to be surrounded by the next up and coming Shakiras and Beyoncé's who are feeling the juice and the music in their soul. The drinks don't stop pouring and next thing you know it you're in a remix mash up of Toby Keith's "I love this bar" and Garth Brooks hit "Friends in Low Places". The 5 star bar staff keep your thirst quenched and when that's not enough there free popcorn with a variety of flavors to top it. I highly recommend dumping every flavor on your tray of popcorn and fisting it in your mouth while simultaneously sipping a gin and soda, with a lime because we aren't animals. If you can't pick someone up from the 2 am crowd... no worries! Come the next night and your chances will still be high. If it's your birthday or you're newly divorced I highly recommend coming here and taking a body shot off of the beautiful mullet bartender Brandon. He's a real panty wetter. Casey's is the best and if you don't like it, you might want to go do a little soul searching Eat Pray Love style and then come back and try it again. read more

Casey's is a grungy, dark hole in the wall that's a staple of downtown. They're most famously known for their heavy pours, which results in one STRONG drink. It's a great place to get your night started. If you're not much of a liquor drinker and prefer beer like myself, they've got some craft beers on top that rotate, as well as your usual domestic suspects. Hungry? There's a free, self-serve popcorn machine for your growling stomach. There's even some flavored salts next to it to pick from. Want some popcorn that tastes like cheese? No problem, they've got you covered. What about some ranch? You're covered there too. The only downside to this bar, in my opinion, is that they allow smoking inside. A downtown Orlando institution. It's certainly cleaner and more modern since Casey left - gone is the never-ending bathroom graffiti, and the single 13-inch TV. The tables have a slightly less amount of stick. But, the drinks are still strong, they still have live music as often as possible, and it's on one of the liveliest corners in all of downtown Orlando. There's no brunch, or early hours - just a classic dive bar. A good place to start the night, or finish it off. They have a decent beer selection - but really, you should be here for a cocktail. A standard drink is essentially a double (so don't order doubles). If you're a regular, you'll probably get your drink in a pint glass. Despite how overwhelmingly busy it can get, the service is really good. Sit outside or inside, and you will have a waitress. The corner table by the entrance on Central gives you a panoramic of all the coming's of going's of most anyone out and about. The bartenders are pros, so a little patience with some eye contact and they'll get to you - I promise. Decent live music - usually an indie vibe. read more

Came here on vacation with a group of 10, we all spent around $50 a person except myself, because a bartender by the name DJ decided it would be okay to berate me, a 4'11 female, for leaning over the bar to order. I believe in tipping appropriately for the service you receive, and I'm not going to tip someone an exorbitant amount for berating me over a $4 drink. he continued to ridicule and mock me, saying verbatim to my friends "You guys are good, she's the problem" after my tip wasnt "satisfactory". he also told the rest of the group that "he shouldn't even be serving us because we are not tipping him enough". If DJ wants good tips, maybe he should learn how to be a pleasant human being. I brought this up to the supervisor on shift, an Asian female, and he ran towards me in order to argue with my complaint and claim that I was lying, even though my group and several patrons were also complaining about him specifically. it is truly a shame that we received such awful service from that man, because it truly is a great bar and has a great atmospher. We stopped in here on St. Patrick's Day for our 2nd stop on our pub crawl. We didn't make it any further! Fun atmosphere, great service, live music, FREE popcorn to munch on and the bathrooms were so CLEAN! Plus, lots of seating for a downtown bar and lots of glass for people watching. To deal with crazy drunks and insane people each night downtown is hard so the fact that they continue to be fun and outgoing is really awesome. Especially during a pandemic. I appreciate all of the bartenders and servers at Caseys and everywhere for that matter who have to wear masks daily and deal unappreciative guests that stroll in drunk and refuse to be respectful. I've come into Casey's a few times because I enjoy the live music they have at night. But it's not the nicest place to go as far as their employees go. I went a couple days ago with a friend and she tripped over a chair because there was a ton of people, it was in the middle of the floor and they instantly came over telling me and my friend that we had to leave. Mind you she was not drinking anymore, was drinking water, and was not causing a scene. She simply tripped over a chair and went back to sit down and instead of asking if she was okay instantly kicked us out. The guy stood over us literally until we left. I have never seen this before and was a little shocked and disappointed. I get that when people work in a bar they deal with a lot of nonsense and see a lot of things but we were fine and I feel like that was not the correct way to handle a situation. Bartenders generally seem annoyed with anyone in there and like they don't want to be there. You choose to work downtown and if you are gonna look like you hate your job, maybe it's not the right place for you. No one wants bartenders/servers who constantly seem annoyed. read more

While this alone is good enough appeal for me, Casey's also provides good service, even in their busiest times, and a great mix of friendly people just wanting to have a good time. The interior is quite small and even more noticeable on the weekends, and they also provide a good amount of outdoor seating. Another plus is that they provide FREE popcorn to snack on to soak up a little bit of that alcohol (or satisfy the hunger of your inner drunk). Oddly enough, my first impression of the corner bar, Casey's on Central, was of the restroom area. Before I was able to survey the bar and atmosphere, I had to make my way to the ladies room. It was there that I saw a gigantic advertisement for the Broadway show The Lion King. It has come and gone and thus seemed to be fair game for doodlers and tipsy patrons with a pen. Other areas of the bar also had theater posters and cool pictures. It's not an incredibly large space so it seemed crammed with people on a Saturday around 11pm. A talented man was playing the guitar on a small stage and was, in my opinion, doing a great job. They offer live music a few nights a week and sometimes post their calendar online. The bartenders were doing a decent job from what I could tell keeping up with requests despite people milling about inside and outside. They do have a few tables out there when the weather is nice. And it's a great location since not only is it on a corner, but it's near other great bars and eateries. So you could head to Central for the night, grab dinner, drinks and not be forced to stay in just one spot. Overall it's pretty open and commands a good crowd. It's not the type of place where you could sit and have meaningful conversations with someone due to the noise but if you're out to have an entertaining evening, then I believe they could provide it. read more

Man I love this place. I mean, for dive bars, this one is pretty much the epitome of it. Smokey, dank, not much bling except for the random stuff on the walls that the patrons bring in. And let's not forget the bathroom graffiti. There are some great artists out there that leave their mark on the walls from every corner of the artistic spectrum. Especially the avant-garde shock artists. There seems to be a lot of that. I don't even think the men's bathroom has a toilet seat. (Probably stolen) If my night starts out here, it's most likely going to get pretty epic. Maybe that's because the bartenders are pretty damn awesome and heavy handed with a bottle. This place is cheap, friendly, and homey. That's what a dive bar should be. A place you can come in dressed for the club, or dressed for bed, and no-one cares and is just as friendly. Thankfully, the typical Orange Ave Jackassery stays out of this place, I've never seen a fight, except on who gets to buy the next round of shots. And frankly, that's a fight I can live with. I can honestly say this place contributes to me screwing up my weekly gym progress, thanks to the free movie popcorn and well poured drinks. Still one of the better long islands I've ever had was from here, and anything else I've had is just as good. The small one or two man bands that come and entertain you are all pretty good, I've yet to have one that makes me want to stuff popcorn in my ears. If you want to kick off the night, or end it in a blaze of glory, Casey's is a good place for it. read more

Thursday nights are known as Martini Thursdays: drink 12 martinis and the 13th one is free. Shirt swap Sundays are a blast. Lots of great reviews here, but... I don't know, I'm just not a fan. Maybe I'm over the types of places that serve cheap, off-brand liquor in those translucent plastic dixie cups. Where every surface, from the bar to the tables to the floor, is always sticky. Where the entire place always smells like that disgusting industrial cleaner that the bars on Church St. use to wash out all of the herpes and barf. You know the stuff -- and if you don't, walk down the strip on Church St one day. The bars don't even have to be open, you can smell it from fifty paces. Anyway, it smells like that in Casey's. Open Bar, excuse moi? Yep, that's right, Casey's just had their 11th Anniversary last night and had open bar from 5pm -7pm for the Orlando community to come in and celebrate Casey's success. If you think about it, for a bar to be open in Downtown Orlando for 11 years, that is quite impressive. Before they were there, many businesses came in and out of that location and many people knew it to be cursed. But Casey's has BEAT THAT CURSE! Casey's is a very relaxed chill bar to go to during the week but very crowded on the weekend. My fav time to go to Casey's is during the week when it is not empty but a good amount of people. Typically Wed are good night's to get a medium sized crowd. The bar is pretty small, and sometimes I wish it could be bigger, but bartenders are extremely nice. Drinks are strong! If you get a chance to go by, head there during the week and grab a table outside. With the weather like it is now in the 70s it is comfortable to sit outside of Casey's! read more
