I have never been in the bar but i can absolutely say their security is top tier. I had walked out of Gittos next door, waiting for an uber and my fiance was inside in the bathroom. A group of 6 men came up being inappropriate to me and the side bar bouncers instantly noticed and told me i could hang with them until my fiance came out. They were clearly aware of their surroundings, professional, and made a small 27 year old woman feel very safe!!! next time im in downtown Orlando i will be going to side bar just because of these men. I never got their names but to the two lovely and kind men outside side bar at 1 am on Friday may 2, you have my utmost respect and I hope whoever is the owner/manager sees this comment and recognizes that you're not only good people to your customers but also random girls on the street who are being harassed. I'm going to recommend this bar to every person I know whether it's guys or all girls on a night out because I know they'll be taken care of. Side Bar is a Downtown Orlando staple. I've been venturing to this little hole-in-the-wall bar for nearly a decade now, and I've watched it grow in popularity over the years to what it is now. While it is nothing like it used to be back when Vintage, Vyce, and some of the older bars/night lounges existed, it is still a solid spot. It has also SURVIVED the various neighboring bar changes throughout the years. The bartenders, throughout the years, have also been quite solid! I have a couple of favorites that I always look for when I visit. Even the doormen are cool people. They have resident DJs that play throughout the week and weekends - all are pretty good! The vibe is usually pretty chill. The nights when they are slower are my favorite because they can get pretty packed. Service is usually pretty great. From time to time, they have specials/deals. They offer nice, fairly affordable mid-shelf (or top-shelf) drink options (as well as well-drink options). They also offer hookahs, if you are into that. Please keep in mind that if you have cash on you, you can get the hookah at a discounted rate. They have a decent number of TVs if you are looking to watch any games. As the name suggests, it is a "side" bar, so seating there is limited, but it does make for more than enough on slower days/nights. They have great hours, and you can also order food from Gitto's next door at the bar counter. All in all, it is a good spot to add to bar-hop rotation or to just visit in general. read more

Was finishing up happy hour at ember and decided to walk to sober up. There was a guy standing outside and told me and my friend to come inside for a shot on him. She declined to drink but we both went in. I was surprised to see it was actually very relaxing inside with hookah and food drinks. I had the waiter surprise me with a shot , i don't know what she put in it but it was good. We did a few puffs on the hookah machine and left. Went here on the recommendation of a good friend, it did not disappoint. Side Bar reminded me of my dive bar back home, but more upscale. It has a friendly atmosphere and the people here were all welcoming and quick to strike up conversation. The staff here is extremely attentive, even when the bar got busy. They were really good about making sure everyone was tended too with drinks and food. From what I could gather, a few of the owners were there and were walking around and introducing themselves to people and thanking them for coming out. Little things like this go a long way and make me want to keep coming back. The drinks here were also great and well priced. They have hookah here too that was reasonably priced. If darts are your thing, they have two electronic boards near the rear of the bar. Can't wait to go back. This was a nice little spot down town and I would definitely come back here; went on a Sunday and the DJ was amazing! The set up of the bar was really cozy and the restrooms were surprisingly really clean. The only reason I'm giving this place a 4/5 is because the prices are overpriced. Went on a Friday night and the bar was full with folks getting their drinks. We managed to get the table right at the entrance and ordered up a hookah for $25 for the entire night. The flavor we requested was peach and there were two folks who were coming by to make sure we kept a-puffing. There were two times that we had to wait quite a bit but it was still not too bad. Sidebar had an amazing DJ giving out some great tunes in the two plus hours we were there. The only reason this place isn't getting 5 stars is I don't expect to pay $4.50 for a Bud Light in such a small location without some kind of real entertainment present with a dance floor. The only thing really going on was the football game with a DJ playing old school and the place wasn't packed. That is the kind of price I would expect to pay in NYC or at least in a night club in an area like this. I payed the same price for an import at a similar location right down the street which seems more reasonable. For how new this placed looked, they should probably keep their prices on the lower end of reasonable until they build a steady crowd that would make me want to stay and hang out. The decor in this place is beautiful. I'm not sure how long this place has been open but everything in it and about it looks new. It looks like a place you could find in Hell's Kitchen in NYC, very posh. I would definitely recommend it because it has so much potential. read more

Great bar! The decor is great and the TVs are huge with every game you want to watch. They even have outlets and USB ports in case your phone needs a charge which is awesome!! I'm a HUGE Gator fan and when I found out that they love showing the Gator game with awesome sound, I new I was going to love this place.
