Lucky lures is one of the best dives in the downtown area! It's located right on lake Ivanhoe Row with an amazing view of lake! The atmosphere is always lively and the drinks are always cheap! They have a happy hour and rotating selection of $3 beer. On weekends, it can definitely get crowded and be hard to find a seat. But they have pool tables available to keep you entertained. Overall, everyone is always friendly and Luck Lure is always a good time! read more

It's always a fun time at The Lucky Lure. Cheep drinks casual atmosphere and live music. The bartenders are fast and friendly. One heads up is that because technically the whole bar is outside you can smoke inside and out which I don't love but because it's a converted shipping container you get a good breeze. They do open fairly early and stay open late so it's a great casual place to stop in for a drink before or after dinner. read more

The woman bartending was rude, we did not feel welcome whatsoever off of her stares and eye rolls. Purchased drinks and they contained less than a splash of alcohol. Other than the bartender, experience and vibes were great! read more

Not going to lie but I've been wanting to come here. I saw a cute latino man with a black hat in the cut but in these days Idk if he is straight or gay. Either way, very good looking. Cool dive bar. They have a foosball and a pool table. Open space bar with lots of barstools to sit with friends or solo. Love the open air concept. I had a good time for a short time. Not too much to add to be honest. I was only at this place for 30 mins. read more

Awesome place, had a fantastic time! They had pool, foosball and plenty of drink options. i kicked some serious butt on the foosball table and was so happy because not many bars have them. They were playing music from the 80s and we were all having the best time singing along. The bartenders were friendly and fast making drinks on a Saturday night. The only thing keeping me from giving this bar 5 stars is the bathroom in the back. Dear god I felt like I was transported into a SAW movie LOL. read more

ORLANDO, FL: The Lucky Lure is a great dive bar to hang out with a drink, play some pool, meet locals, catch the sunset over Lake Ivanhoe, watch the game on their TVs, and have a fun time with your pup! Leashed and friendly dogs are allowed inside with windows that let in the breeze and it is covered on the top and offers counter seating. Great venue to hang out, have a couple beers and check out the local music scene. Open air is great on warm nights.

One of my all time favorite spots. I love the people watching from the open air bar and it's a local joint, so always friendly.

Cozy and well decorated bar with a great view! The windows are all open facing the street, so it's lovely to take in some nice weather. Also liked the "grab beer" item for $3 and beer of the week :) would love to come back on a lively night and enjoy the atmosphere! read more

Love this place and everyone who works there, except one bartender who is extremely unprofessional. Lee refused me and my friends service, who were all entirely sober simply because one of us used to work with him and he had a vendetta. Turning down good money for the bar because of his own pettiness. Jared and everyone else is amazing. read more

Great spot to grab a couple of beers and play pool, loved the vibe this place had. It was absolutely rammed full when I went on a Friday evening a few months ago, but it added to the atmosphere in the place. Would def return for a few casual drinks and play pool with friends! read more

If you're looking for a dive bar near, but not in downtown, you've found it. The service is usually fast and the bartenders are always joking and having a good time. Discovered this bar on Yelp. Walked here from the Hideaway bar. Glad I came here! The view from the bar is the street and Lake Ivanhoe. It had a beach theme to it, which is perfect because you see the water of the lake. My mind tricked me into thinking it was the actual beach. Very casual outside bar. It is covered so you can still go here when it's raining. There are high powered fans to keep you not dying from the heat. The have foozeball and pool tables as well. I was impressed they carried a wide variety of good beer. Crafts beers but they also had a full bar. The owner was behind the bar, and was welcoming and very chill. As soon as my friend approached the bar to order, he introduced himself with a handshake. We had a lot of conversations and he is pretty personable. He had good beer knowledge, and what beers to recommend. You get to use a koozie when you order a canned beer, which adds to the beach theme. Had a good time. Will be back! read more

Nice little bar with the breeze, it's a great spot to start a little bar crawl. I love anything beachy and this bar had that atmosphere. Rude bartenders and clicky clientele, would never go back and will never recommend this place! I am an Orlando native and the people at this establishment are not a good example of friendly Orlando residents! I would be embarrassed to take friends or family here due to the terrible treatment we received! No wonder there were only like 8 customers and a weekend night!!! Heed my warning....go elsewhere! read more

Lucky Lure is always a good choice. We typically stop in here while waiting for our table for brunch. I love getting a beer-mosa here - made with Victory Golden Monkey Ale and a splash of OJ. It's a perfect way to start the brunch day! The bar is basically a patio, so there is no "indoor" seating, it's all open. So it can get a little warm during the summertime, but it's perfect for when the temperature drops a bit. There is seating at the bar and facing towards the lake, so you can get a nice view during the day. The bartenders are friendly and attentive. They gave a free birthday shot for our friend who turned 21! They have a large variety of craft beers and a full bar, with certain liquor specials. They have giant jenga out front and a pool table inside. There is also free popcorn! They occasionally have a food truck parked out front if you get hungry for a full meal. If you're ever in the Ivanhoe area, make a stop at Lucky Lure! read more

The bartender was so rude. We simply just asked for some drinks which he could of say that they don't offer those type of drinks there. But instead he gave us an attitude and said "this is not a f*** beach bar". It was such a bad experience read more

Me and my wife love coming here.. this is stop number one or number two on our Ivanhoe bar crawl. We hit lucky lure, hammered lamb, thirsty topper, Santiago's, Ten10, courthouse or brasstap and if we have energy left we hit will's pub and maybe Wally's. We have come here tons of times and even adopted one of our dogs during their 1st yappy hour where Judy's rescue brings rescue dogs for people to play with and hopefully adopt. The staff is super friendly and the drinks are pretty good. We have come here a ton and never had a bad experience. At first the open window thing seems a bit hot but they have this huge machine that circulated the air and it feels like you are at the beach. Last time we came we tried the Orlando city margarita and it was pretty good.. definitely recommend it read more

The Lucky Lure! What can i say about Ivanhoe's dive bar. It feels very Floridian to me. Cheap drinks. Great crowd, super laid back. It's a great place to hang out as you make your way to the other bars/restaurants in the area. It's an outdoor/open air bar which makes it a fun spot to people watch or even catch a distant view of the sunset by the lake. When it gets super hot, they turn on the cooling sprays which are a godsend. When in the area, I seem to always make my way to this bar, and i always have a great time. My husband and I live in College Park and love going to the bars in Ivanhoe. Lucky Lure happens to be one of our favorite spots. The atmosphere is very relaxed. It's located right across from Lake Ivanhoe so it's nice to just sit out and enjoy the views. They also have a little patio with jenga. The bartenders are awesome and always make us feel right at home. There is a wide variety of beers. Drinks are reasonably priced. There is also a popcorn machine and we like to enjoy a couple drinks while snacking on the popcorn. On Sundays, they often have a food truck parked out front. They have regular events such as yappy hour. While dogs are always welcome, during yappy hour they have special treats for our four-legged friends. I follow Lucky Lure on facebook and instagram so I can stay updated on their events such as live music. I'm really glad we have this fun bar so close to home. read more

After the Elite event at Oblivion Taproom yesterday, I stopped by here since I was nearby. The Lucky Lure appears to have opened recently, maybe even on July 3 (according to its Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Lucky-Lure/250317965112195). I didn't stay for very long, but I enjoyed the little bit of time that I was here. There are stools/seats along the bar's outer wall that allow for some good open-air views of Lake Ivanhoe. I liked that a lot. The bar wasn't crowded when I first arrived, but it seemed to be picking up a little bit just as I was preparing to leave. It seemed to be a fun place to hang out on a Sunday afternoon/evening. The bar doesn't offer anything extravagant in its beer selection, with the most appealing choices being Magic Hat # 9 and Red Hook. It also offers many of the basics (Bud Light, PBR, etc.). As far as I can tell, liquor is served here, though I'm unsure if it truly is a full bar. My can of Magic Hat # 9 cost $4, which is a decent deal for one of the better beers the bar is offering. There are many places around town that I really like and probably always will prefer to The Lucky Lure, but some future visits definitely are in order. It seems like a low-key place to relax and enjoy some decent beers. I'm not sure when I'll be back, but hope to try it at least once more in the next month or two. The bar probably deserves somewhere around a 3.5 rating, but I'm rounding up for now. If my perception of it changes during/after future visits, I'll update the rating accordingly. read more

The Lucky Lure - Magic Hat # 9. (7/14/13) - Bars Near Me - Orlando, Florida

The best time to visit The Lucky Lure is around sunset, when the golden rays bounce off of Lake Ivanhoe, giving this pub a lovely glow. The open space always makes for a pleasant drinking experience, and it's perfect if you're not a fan of smoke. Tony (owner) and his bartenders are very friendly (Jared and Brandon are cool cats) and their cocktails are mixed quite well. You can tell they love what they do, and they seem to enjoy hanging out there themselves even on their days off. The drink prices here generally fall between The Hideaway (less expensive) and The Hammered Lamb (more expensive). My only (very minor) caveat is that they don't offer food. That's not really a deal breaker since you can find food within walking distance on either side of the bar. It can, depending on the night, get a little too loud. But that's to be expected from a tight space. All in all, Lucky Lure's a great place to add to your Lake Ivanhoe bar hopping trail. read more

The Lucky Lure is a great patio style bar, with a pretty good beer selection (no draft beer though), and full liquor selection. Beer orders come with a koozie too, which is a pretty unique idea, or many people bring their own. I'm not sure if they have food, as I've only been here for drinks. The bartenders are cool though, and actually let my friends and I park our bikes on the patio so we didn't need to worry about locking them up outside. Nestled right in the heart of the Lake Ivanhoe district, its worth checking out for sure. read more

This is a pretty cool little dive bar to grab a drink or two. Strong cocktails, beers in cans only. I consider this somewhere that you would just pop into when you are walking either to or from somewhere else...but I couldn't see this being my destination, more like an afterthought. For what it is, it's cool - and somewhere that you can get a nice view of the sunset/lake at the right time. Beer selection is decent, but no rhyme or reason it seems so you'll have to figure out what a particular beer is like via the almighty Google. Service is decent...they might forget about you, but this is the kind of place where you just throw something at the bartender if they do. read more
