Had an early morning follow-up doctor's appointment the other day and received the news everyone wants to hear, a clean bill of health and a "keep doing what you're doing." Naturally, I celebrated by heading to Hideaway for breakfast. While I'm not a regular, I've been visiting Hideaway for years. The original location across the street had a classic smoke-filled dive bar atmosphere, and I could tell stories all day about memorable experiences there. Those stories are best saved for another time. The new location is unquestionably an upgrade in comfort and appearance, though it lacks some of the character and smoke that made the old place so memorable. Fortunately, the things that matter most remain intact. The beer is still ice cold, the drinks are solid, and the food is consistently above average at prices that are hard to argue with. This particular morning, I grabbed a seat at the bar and took advantage of their $5 breakfast burrito (available before 9 AM). The menu lists bacon or ham as protein options, but I was also offered sausage, which I happily chose along with the eggs and cheese. I'm glad I did. The sausage was nicely rendered with crisp edges that delivered little flavor bombs throughout the burrito. Wanting to dress things up a bit, I asked for pico de gallo. My server laughed and replied, "This is a dive bar," before offering salsa instead. Fair enough. The salsa, combined with a generous squeeze of their hot sauce, turned out to be exactly what the burrito needed. In fact, it was so good I briefly considered ordering a second one to go. Then I could practically hear my doctor whispering in my ear, advising restraint, so I reluctantly passed. For those unfamiliar with Hideaway, it's also a major Miami Dolphins fan destination. Whether you're a Dolphins fan or not, I highly recommend experiencing one of their game-day watch parties at least once. The atmosphere is electric and one of the more unique sports-viewing experiences around. My only minor gripe was being charged an extra dollar for the small container of salsa, and it wasn't even pico de gallo. Not enough to ruin an otherwise enjoyable visit, but enough to earn a raised eyebrow. Overall, a great breakfast, a little nostalgia, and a fitting way to celebrate a positive doctor's visit. read more

Hideaway is great for football season but can get way overcrowded at times. The service is a bit slow and it isn't as cozy as their old location which can be nice with a bigger group, but it has lost some of its charm. Food and drinks are reasonably priced but it did take 15 mins to order a drink from the bar today and I have waited longer in the past. Food is normal bar food nothing to get excited over but all and all it's a fine time. read more

Before I begin let me start off by saying that this review is based solely upon my personal experiences and my personal experiences alone, so with that being said let's begin!!!... We came here to check out the scenery and the vibe at this particular place. The atmosphere was outgoing and outstanding. One of the best truly "dog friendly" spots in Orlando. They have doggie cookies and bowls on deck, and a dog menu including seasonless and bunless burgers and hot dogs, chicken breast and more. Each time we've brought our pup there's been 2-3 other really well behaved dogs hanging out at a table with their owners. We love getting to bring our boy out to hang with us! Side bar- the human food is delicious too! Burgers, sandwiches, wings, quesadillas and the likes. If you get there early enough for breakfast be sure to order the biscuits and gravy - you won't regret it! The Hideaway never disappoints. Stopped by for brunch and had one of the yummiest breakfast burritos. It's hard to tell from the picture but it was loaded with goodness. Melty cheese, crispy bacon, a nice soft tortilla... so good. My roommate got the French dip. Let me tell you that this girl loves a French dip and she said this was the best one she'd had in awhile. Our server Jeannine was friendly and fast. When the kitchen backed up a bit, she brought us a basket of chips while we waited. The new building is a great bar space and the outside seating is perfect for this time of year. It's easy to see why this is a neighborhood favorite. P.s. The Sunday night bartenders at the Hideaway are not friendly and act like their bothered. I miss the old hideaway and the genex friendly bartenders that were happy you came in and ordered and were very friendly and appreciated the business. Why is millennial bartenders that are working there now are horriblle and don't care who they insult or how they behave. S*** better be careful of who he hires. read more

Different than it was, but still worth a visit! I used to frequent the old location often. It was a dive bar with great burgers and people. This new location is certainly not a dive bar, but the people are still great and there is a lot more space. I have come here for happy hour, sports, and as a pit stop while biking - and have always been happy. The menu is large and they have a full bar with outside patio seating as well. The Hideaway Bar is a great little spot in Ivanhoe Village. I never got to go to their original location, so I can't compare and contract... Honestly, the chicken wings lured me there last week- they were calling my name. And I was looking for a late night spot with food offerings (I think the kitchen typically closes at 1a while the bar closes at 2a) and WASN'T Gringos Locos (as that's normally where I end up for food after 11p). This place really hit the spot. The chicken wings here are offered in MANY flavors. I ordered a blend with both Garlic and Parmesan... That was THE move. These wings were scrumptious. The order came with 10 wings for $18. The wings were decently-sized and came with one sauce (blue cheese or ranch). Solid order. I'd definitely get this again. Our server was nice and attentive. She checked on us a lot and didn't pressure us to give up the table after we finished eating, which I appreciated (no one was waiting on the table or anything though). The parking situation is oookay, not great. I was VERY lucky and got a spot in their small-ish parking lot... My friend had to park a few blocks away (it's a bit dark around there, so it felt safer to drive her to her car at 2am). We weren't feeling the safest after a small fight broke out at the brooo table next to us outside (guys were yelling and throwing up the bird). Maybe since it was late on a Friday night, the vibe inside was a bit sausage-festy... It's not enough to keep me away, but I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for the typical atmosphere there to determine if it'll be my go-to late night spot from now on (since I'm a sucker for chicken wings). I finally got around to going to the new location and it was fantastic! Probably my new favorite place in Orlando. Not only is the space extremely large, but they have a wrap around patio outside as well. Happy hour and drink prices are great, the bartenders are attentive, and the food menu has something for everyone. I did not enjoy the old location because of the cigarette smoke indoors but this new location is great and there is no smoking inside. read more

The (new) Hideaway is definitely its own unique vibe. It's not as "dive-bar-y" in feel as the previous Hideaway location across the street was, however the drinks and food options remain consistent. The new location is far more modern but with a huge nod towards industrial design. When the weather is nice, they open up the garage door (a trend in restaurants that I am kind of glad has taken off as it has because I love blending indoor and outdoor spaces). It gives the space an extra dimension and allows for great air circulation! It gets pretty busy on the weekends, so go during the week if you're looking for a lesser crowd. They have ample seating options and service is pretty decent. The staff is nice and the vibes are usually pretty lively. They have pretty decent beer selection and can usually make most drinks you can think of. Again, the food is consistent. Nothing to brag about - just decent bar food to pair with your beverage of choice on fun or chill night out with your peers (or yourself). Prices points are reasonable. All in all, it's staple bar in Ivanhoe Village and a good little spot to pop into if you're bar hopping in Ivanhoe. Definitely pay them a visit, if you have not already. read more

LOVE The Hideaway. I frequent this spot since they opened their new location. The Hideaway is located in Ivanhoe Village with a small parking lot in the back and plenty of street parking surrounding the building. The food, drinks and service is always consistent. Since reopening, I would say this is an elevated dive bar experience with the normal drinks you would expect at a dive bar with a huge bar, lots of tables, high tops, TVs, games and an outdoor patio. I couldn't wait to come visit this Orlando staple in their new location! There is a small parking lot in the back, and you can access the bar through the backdoor or around the front. There is lots more outdoor seating than the old location. It has large garage like doors that create an indoor/outdoor vibe. My friend and I grabbed seats at the end of the bar. The bartender was really nice and poured a great drink. My friend ordered a burger with potato salad and I ordered a side of tots. He said the burger was cooked well and very tasty. I enjoyed the tots. The perfect crispiness. We ended up staying for hours due to the good vibes and decently priced drinks. There are lots of tvs, a golf video game, and touchtunes for music. I swung by here after leaving City Food Hall to check it out. I was surprised they had a larger selection of food than I would have expected for a bar. I was stuffed so I did not try and food but had a few drinks. Staff was super super friendly and the drinks were well prepared and reasonably"ish" priced. They have quite a few TV's to show various games as well as some video and other games. The whole vibe was pretty good and seems like a great neighborhood bar hang out. Stopped in for a quick drink after having a bite at City Food Hall. I was not aware they had such a large food menu and will be coming back to try some of the items. The food items were lots of what you would find in a typical bar set up (burger, wings, etc). I was full so can't speak to how the items are. The place is clean and had a few TVs around to watch different shows or games. We had multiple staff stop by to check on our table and make sure we were good and didn't need any drink refills or anything else. They had full bar with lots of options to chose from and the prices were around the average price you would find. Decided to downgrade my review. We have been back to the new location four times now and the service just keeps getting worse and worse. The food is decent, all the fried items are just previously frozen things from restaurant depot but that's not a big deal. The service is laughably terrible, it is always a solid 10-15 in between trips from any server. Drinks sit empty unless you walk yourself up to the bar to get a new one. We had to leave the place at one point after waiting 20 minutes for service while the only waitress at the time was hanging out with friends smoking a cig on the patio. We won't be giving it another shot since there are plenty of other options in town with drinks, food, and better service (or any service at all tbh) read more
