The food was good.. atmosphere was really fun.. the service was awesome.. the bartender was super cool!! I grew up here.. moved to Jersey for 26 years.. back now.. I look like I came straight out of the Jersey Shore (it's embarrassing).. was at this bar for the 1st time.. looking for a regular hangout spot.. my bracelet fell off, and I left my phone on the bar when I checked out.. nobody turned anything in.. my boyfriend kept calling my phone.. finally, somebody answered and told him to meet him at some random place and he wanted money for it.. so we did get my phone back.. and my bracelet yeah he had that too.. long story short, the bartender knew who he was because she remembered me looking for my phone and he's a regular. He is now banned (hopefully).. I felt like he was watching me the entire time we were there.. waiting for me to do some tourist stuff (and I did, even tho I'm not). I blame myself for not paying attention. But, I praise this bar for having my back!! They were awesome.. the bar is awesome!! I will definitely be back!! I'll just pay better attention to my surroundings and my property next time!! I absolutely LOVE this bar!! We all need to watch our surroundings anywhere!! There are 8 customers w 2 bartenders. The only thing good about this place is the food. The bartenders could care less about serving unless it's just drinks. The older lady is very rude and acts as if she's been sipping herself. It's the same Everytime I come here just to order food to go. If you're looking for good service, I recommend going somewhere else. read more

I worked at George's right at 20 years ago, and I believe the Fekany family still own and operates it. It's the best dive bar ever, come as you are, nobody will judge you. Danny and Mark managed the place and were great to work for... both tough but fair. It's clear the kitchen has upped its game and the food looks amazing. Neil Young said it best, "Find the losers in the best bars, find the winners in the dives." I'm headed that way soon and I look forward to seeing the differences 20 years made. read more

This is a fun dive bar to visit if you are a fan of the divey places! I visit from time to time and always enjoy myself. The bartenders are awesome, the bar grub and drinks are cheap, and the atmosphere is relaxed. On any given night, you usually find people playing pool and hanging with friends. The jukebox is always going and plays an eclectic mix, so you will usually here something you like even if you don't use it yourself. It's dated and smoky, and the chairs aren't the most comfy, but if that doesn't deter you, I recommend stopping in for a cold drink! read more

Nasty SEEDY BIKER BAR.....If you like upscale people with class don't go to George's....BUT if you crave dirty looking Willy Nelson types, this is the place for you....The atmosphere is that of drunken bums falling off bar seats and ugly people looking for fights. The place is run down and if you look decent you won't fit in...Seems the clique in this bar are smelly old dudes who don't shave, wear old clothes, and can't form a sentence...I give George's 5 stars because I am a creepy type and am typical of what you will see. read more

Wow, where to start...well, April B. and I spent quite a few hours in George's this past Saturday. As soon as we walked in, one of the regulars yelled, "There she is!" Like they had been waiting for us to find this hole in the wall all their lives. It was great! The staff was friendly and on point. They have pool tables, darts, and table shuffleboard (which April and I did not know how to use, but the bartender gave us lessons.) We also had some food while we were in. It was surprisingly good! This place may look a little scary and uninviting on the outside, but inside it is still a little scary, but huge and a lot of fun! read more

I would not recommend this place for a group of ladies. It's kind of a biker bar, or pool league bar. Definitely creepy atmosphere. Drinks are cheap though. We stopped in here to play the recently-unboxed Wizard of Oz pinball machine. Very large for a dive bar, with an unusually diverse clientele - white, black, handicapped, bikers, gays, and of course my wife and I that were dressed like a couple of tourists in shorts and flippy floppies (even though we are not really tourists). Everyone was either friendly or kept to themselves. The wait staff was great. I had more than a few drinks and some hot wings. The wings were great. This place has the just-released Wizard of Oz pinball table and also has a AC/DC table. We played the heck out of both. They also have a dozen pool tables and that weird game with the long table that has sand all over it. A lot of people were playing pool, many had their own cues, so I'd assume they are good. The place is large so there's plenty of room to move around. The music comes from a standard itouch jukebox and we heard just as much dance, radio pop, and hiphop as anything else and you can always, well, put your money in and change the format. Anyway, we'll be back here the next time we're in Orlando. read more

Classic cozy watering hole. The little lady and i decided to have a night out, but we didn't want the downtown scene at a sweaty, crowded, hormone-laden club where the strobe-lights messed with our eyeballs. About 15min away from downtown we found this delightfully comfy bar & grill named Georges Hideaway. Well within our budget, we stayed all night, enjoying each other and the Georges atmosphere. Big bar with elbow-room, we were most satisfied with impressively cold beer and cheesesteak subs; Between the great service from polite bartender, we played several games of pool, and ground our teeth at a pinball machine...what a hoot! 20 foot ceilings with full glass panels accentuated the ambiance.Reflected in its clientele, the establishment neither gives off a vibe of pretentious manners or ostentatious posers, the vibe is genuine, down to earth. We're from the midwest, and we gotta say, Georges Hideaway is among the best bar & grills on the East coast. read more
