What a pleasant surprise. A hidden gem in Lake Nona, Orlando Florida. This was our first time dining in at Nami. We did a 20 course chef's counter with Chef Jason Beliveau, which was similar to omakase experience except every course was a fusion of flavors from different countries. Nami is located on the back side of Wave Hotel. We parked in the parking garage and walked through the hotel and out to the back. You will walk into a beautifully decorated area with lots of trees and lights that will make you want to walk around a bit enjoying the view. Inside the restaurant, the ambiance was cozy and there was a naturally elegant feel to it. From the ceiling to the walls to the trees spaced out throughout the restaurant, it was a perfect environment that invites you in to dine in. Executive chef Jason was personable, with bright energy and made the whole dining experience so fun that two hours flew by quickly. He explained where many of the ingredients come from, and how each dish was crafted. Each dish was intricately and carefully put together. From preparation to presentation to flavor it was a unique experience for sure. I didn't think that I would get full but by the time the course meal was over with, but I was also done for. No more food, no more desserts, and no more drinks. I was content, satisfied, and just wanted to go to sleep. This is an experience that everyone should try for sure. I recommend making a reservation for your next special celebration. Please let me know what you thought of the experience!

So this was our second time coming here. It's very romantic with dim lights and good ambiance. All the food was delicious but this time around I did get very sick that night and the next morning. Me and my husband shared everything except the hamachi, so I think I got sick from the raw fish. In a positive note everything else was very flavorful and good, it is pricy but worth it for a nice date night or celebrating something. Our server was very kind and attentive. Everything was delicious but the corn and hamachi was a skip. We will be back for the steak and cavier that was amazing and the experience, I will stay away from the raw fish next time.

Beautiful, romantic atmosphere, kind and attentive service, and top notch dishes make Nami a must-add to your Orlando culinary bucket list. We started with the oysters which were one of my favorite bites of the night. Tangy, tart, sweet, and salty. Next, we had the madai which was a perfect follow-up as it was delicate, clean, and delicious. My favorite dish of the night were the lobster donuts - essentially bite-sized lobster rolls that were packed with flavor. For the main courses we went with the Hokkaido scallops (note only 1 scallop per order and they are fairly small, so recommend getting two if you're sharing) and the lamb chops. Both were incredible. I couldn't stop going back for more of the sauce the scallops are sitting in. Finally, we ended with a couple of old fashioneds and the matcha/sesame/chocolate cake. The cocktails were great, well balanced and the table side cedar burning really adds to the experience. The dessert was good, but probably my least favorite bite of the night as I felt the sesame, matcha, and chocolate competed with one another. Reservations are highly recommended as it's a smaller venue, although there are a few bar seats so I would assume they allow walk-ins when space allows. Overall we had an incredible experience and will look forward to returning when we're planning our next splurge meal!

I love a restaurant that not only is super Instagram bowl but has great food and Nami is definitely that! My husband and I came for a date night at the chefs counter and the experience was literally unmatched. I honestly have to say probably one of my best experiences ever so many courses so many opportunities to try new food and so many delicious bites! I highly recommend

I walked in with a friend and was thankfully able to get a spot at the bar. I don't eat meat/seafood but still wanted to try what I could. Listen, even the veggies are delicious here! I got the cucumber salad and the cauliflower side. Both packed with flavor. I also got the lilac cocktail which was STRONG and had some good flavors. This venue is beautiful so dress to impress. Service at the bar was great and the bartender was quite knowledgeable. I would return but I do feel like this is more of a special occasion venue for me.

Came here with a couple of girlfriends for dinner. Reservations are a must. Classy and sophisticated so be sure you are dressed to impress. The ambience is dim, warm, intimate and inviting. Our service was amazing from start to finish. This was my first time dining here and our waiter Pablo was friendly and helpful. He went over the menu and even suggested his favorite dishes. Everything he recommended was delicious. Though the portions are small, it was more than enough for my girlfriends and I to share. We shared the cucumbers, madai, hamachi and robota salmon were fresh and flavorful. I really enjoyed the nami nuggets and the mushroom donabe. I was really impressed with the service and food here. No wonder they earned a Michelin award. So if you're looking for something that's sexy and low key, come here. It's perfect for date night or a nice dinner with friends.

I came here on a date night with my husband and we were blow away! We loved the ambiance from the moment we walked in, and our server was absolutely incredible. Helpful with suggestions and fun to talk with. Everything we ordered was delicious and we cannot wait to go back & enjoy more! Definitely recommend.

went to Nami on Valentine's Day and had a fantastic experience. They had a pre-selected Valentine's menu, and honestly every course was excellent beautifully presented and full of flavor. The quality of the food really stood out and the whole dinner felt very special. What made the evening even better was the service. Our server was amazing attentive, friendly, and genuinely cared about making our experience great. I mentioned that I had been hoping to try the Tuna Pizza but noticed it wasn't on the Valentine's menu. To my surprise, the server brought a complimentary portion for me to try, which was such a thoughtful gesture and absolutely delicious. Great food, outstanding service, and a memorable Valentine's dinner. I would definitely recommend Nami and will be coming back.

What an experience!! Nami has quickly become a new favorite! My family of 5 which included my grandmother, mom, dad and my husband went out on Saturday to celebrate my husband's birthday. We started with their valet which is $15 and mobile friendly. You can text them when you're ready to pick up your car! The gentleman outside was very kind and patient helping my nana get out of the car. When we walked in about 10 minutes early to our reservation, they all warmly greeted us and wished my husband a happy birthday. We were immediately seated. The ambiance inside is unmatched! Dimly lit and beautiful yet modern decor all around. Our server, Pablo was a gem! He had such an electric attitude and was very helpful in our decision making for food. One of my favorite things was my dad had a small toothache in the middle of our dinner and without us noticing that he noticed, Pablo brought over a cup full of shaved ice which my dad was amazed by! It even helped that pain! Now the food... WOW! Some of the best food I've had in a long time locally! It's really hard to pinpoint a favorite or a must try dish because honestly everything was a must try. There wasn't one dish that I wasn't absolutely blown away by! I hope Nami is around for a long time because everyone needs to try this place!

Nami was exquisite! Customer service was A1, located in the wave hotel! We walked in without a reservation and sat at the bar. The bartenders i'd like to shout out are Savannah. We were given a complimentary appetizer which was tuna I believe in a rice paper cracker and it was outstanding. Super creamy and the flavor profile was different than anything I've tasted before. I ordered the ivory drink which had vodka, lemongrass, and green apple and it was the perfect light and refreshing drink. The drink creeps up on you for sure. My favorite bite had to be the tuna pizza that had fresh tuna, red onion, avocado, and some sort of citrusy marinade, truly spectacular. I definitely recommend it for a sexy night out or a celebration, the ambiance is expected with such a nice hotel like the Wave. It is on the pricier side but definitely worth it!

Nami is located in Lake Nona at the Wave Hotel. I found this place when staying here and I was so impressed. My first impression walking in is I LOVED the ambiance. When we sat down we were immediately greeted by the team, they were all working together to make sure we had the best experience. Our server, I wish I could remember her name but she was just so amazing from the beginning to end. She had brown hair (sorry I can't remember). She started off by asking if we wanted her input on what to order, we definitely did. She knew the entire menu with descriptions and portion size because we shared everything. She was absolutely right about everything she suggested. The food was 100/10 I already want to go back and eat the oysters. I included photos of everything. The drinks were Japanese inspired and so unique including sake which was an amazing touch.

Went for magical dining and had the best time. top notch service to go with amazing food. I can say not all the portions were the same some were only a couple of bits however they were good bits. lol loved the dark lighting and soft music. will definitely go back next year and probably stop in a couple of times in between to have some appetizers or drinks.

We started with the bread, with the chorizo ricotta spread. They call it a "coca" but I think it's basically a focaccia? Anyway, it was delicious! One of the highlights for me. The Hamachi was also very fresh, light and tasty. For my main meal, I got the swordfish, which was incredibly fresh and delicious. With the Chaufa, basically a fried rice. The rice was good, but very heavy, I didn't eat it all. I'm not sure I'd get it again, but I did like it. Walking out of the restaurant I saw a plate of the carne asada-- I kind of wish I would have gotten that! Then for dessert, we got the tres leches cake. However, it was just SO sugary, that it was too much. between two of us, we couldn't finish it, and it was pretty small. It had its own unique twist. But just way too much sugar in every component. I was very pleased with the whole experience, but wanted something to really knock my socks off to give them 5 stars. If I could give half stars, they'd get 4.5. I recommend you give them a try! And I'll be back again next time I'm in Orlando to try that Carne Asada. Thanks for having me!

We were dying for a place with fresh air and outdoor seating, so a colleague found Canvas and we were all completely on board. This exceeded all expectations. The outdoor table in a covered area on the lake was just what we needed and the space itself is beautiful. Our server was Elizabeth and she was someone who has a real gift for delivering great hospitality. We were a larger, last minute group and she really took great care of us so we were all grateful to be seated in her section and all said how excellent she was at her job. The drink list was awesome and they had a great variety of cocktails, mocktails, and wines by the glass/bottle. I had a watermelon ranch water to start, that was so light and refreshing, plus really unique. I then moved onto wine, but my colleagues ordered a variety of drinks like the Lake Side Collins, Espresso Martini, and Blood Orange Cosmo. One in our group who is pregnant really enjoyed the mocktails on the menu. We started with a few apps that Elizabeth recommended, including the whipped ricotta, buffalo chicken, and calamari. We had a lot of different food preferences, but everyone easily found something to order. I had a Caesar salad and truffle fries (the fries were good, but not truffle-y) since like a toddler, I filled up on apps, but everyone cleaned their plates. The portions are also HUGE - two of my friends split the mushroom calzone and a Caesar and it was probably enough food for 3 people. We ended by sharing the Nutella donuts at the table which was the best choice to wrap up a wonderful evening out after two really hard days of work. If I lived in the area, Canvas would be somewhere I'd want in regular rotation to visit - it was a great blend of amazing service, a beautiful ambiance and vibe, and wonderful food/drink options. The most difficult part was figuring out WHAT to order off this menu!

I swear this whole experience felt like a social experiment or something. We were quoted a 20-minute wait that turned into 40, which is fine, but when we got the "table ready" text and went up front, the staff didn't even know if our table was actually ready. Already confused. Then we get seated at a 4-person table. We ask if we can sit at the 2-person table literally right next to it (like... less than a foot away), and they say no. Instead, they have us pull apart the 4-person table ourselves to make it work... and we had to clean it too because there was still stuff on it. At this point I'm like ok so we're employees now? Then a manager comes over and asks us to pick up and rotate our table to make space for a couple with a baby. Mind you this is the SECOND time we've had to move our table. We do it... and then they don't even seat the couple there. So we just rearranged the restaurant for fun I guess. The hostess was also hovering and making small talk about a matcha I got from the coffee spot inside, which felt like she was trying to make up for the table situation but it just made everything more awkward. Also why are the water refills like that?? They kept coming by and pouring literal droplets instead of just filling the glass. And our server somehow had perfect timing in the worst way possible -- every single time my mouth was full, she would appear and ask how everything was. It became a running joke. At one point we were laughing so hard because we genuinely couldn't believe what was happening. The crazy part is the food was actually really good. We spent around $200, so I expected the experience to match. Overall... great food, but the service felt like a fever dream. At this point I'm just wondering when HR is sending my onboarding paperwork.

The patio was very nice as well, it had a bar and TVs outside. I thought that their menus on the tablets were such a nice touch.. it elevated the experience from the typical laminated paper menus. For me, a trip to Orlando isn't complete without a pilgrimage to this sanctuary of 'top-notch' Japanese cuisine. Walking inside, you're immediately struck by the aesthetic--clean lines, modern decor, and a vibe that manages to be both chic and welcoming. But the real entertainment is the open-concept kitchen. There is a certain culinary thrill in watching the chefs through the open window, knowing that the masterpiece headed to your table is being freshly made-to-order right before your eyes. On this particular mission, I brought my BFF along for her maiden voyage, and safe to say, she's a convert. While I usually pledge my undying loyalty to the Mango Tango--a dance of coconut shrimp and fresh mango--and the decadent Sexy Lobster Roll, we decided to be adventurous and recruited the Monster Lobster Roll into our rotation. It was exactly as the name implies: a delicious, tasty beast of a roll that didn't just meet expectations; it devoured them. Of course, the family traditions remained intact: my sister stayed true to her beloved, generous Bento Box, while my niece happily tackled her reliable mountain of rice and teriyaki chicken. The pro tip for fellow sushi fanatics? Timing is everything. Arrive for the 11:00 AM opening to witness the absolute peak of freshness, or catch them when they re-open at 5:00 PM after their 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM 'beauty sleep'.
