They were super busy, but we felt well-taken care of. I ordered the 8oz filet with broccolini as a side. We ordered truffle fries to share as a table. We had a couple of glasses of wine. Last night my friend took me to Kres for an early birthday celebration. The hostesses were SO welcoming and kind and wished me a happy birthday. The ambiance of the restaurant was very intimate and dimly lit, with black and red accents everywhere, including the tables with one red rose placed in a small vase. Bojan was our server and he was spectacular. He explained the wine list and menu to us and asked if we needed any assistance in choosing / had any questions about the menu. My only complaint of the evening is our appetizers seemed to take a tad bit long to be served, but everything else was fabulous. I ordered the tequila lavender cocktail, which is nothing like I've ever tasted before. It had coconut cream, lime, tequila, and lavender. It was delicious. We started off by sharing a Caesar salad and Parmesan truffle fries. We also were served bread service with a side of garlic oil. The caesar salad was served with a Parmesan pita crisp, and the fries were very crunchy and delicious. We split two entrees: the salmon and the vegan stuffed shells. The stuffed shells were fairly small, with only 4 in the entree, but was nonetheless flavorful and delicious. I almost forgot it was vegan! The salmon was a large cut and served over a creamy risotto and was my favorite of the evening. It was delicious. We ordered the lava cake for dessert and Bojan went the extra mile by placing a birthday candle inside of it and ended up providing the dessert on the house! Celebrating a milestone anniversary here with my Mr. made quite the impression. It was his pick. Clearly he has good taste. Further evidence, his choice of spouse. Anyhoo.... stepping into the place sets the mood for romance. It has a sexiness to it, with red tones, retro vibes, and ambiance lighting. Lately I'm really appreciating the historical value of venues, and this building definitely has it. Originally constructed in the 30s as a five-and-dime retailer, the current upscale dining is a departure from those earlier days, yet respectful of the nostalgic aura. Honestly I wasn't wowed by the service. Not lacking in meeting needs, yet also not a standout in the experience for me. The food, however, was stellar. My Filet Wellington was indulgently tender and all our sides were delicious. Even as leftovers, it still hit almost the same. No stringent dress code here. My husband planned a date night and set up a reservation for Kres Chophouse. When you walk in it's dark and romantic with a single light and fresh flower on each table. Our server was very polite and attentive. He also was very helpful when looking at the menu, since it was our first time dining. We ordered the Calamari for an appetizer, my husband ordered the 16oz Ribeye, and I ordered the Filets with Shrimp and Carbonara, and a Bread a Pudding for dessert. The calamari was so tender, fresh, and seasoned really well. My husband's ribeye was cooked to perfection and was so soft a butter knife could cut through it. My filet and shrimp tasted amazing. The carbonara had fresh veggies and the egg yolk mixed into the pasta make it into a silky sauce. The steak was the best steak I've had in Orlando in a very long time. We also ordered a side of Mac and Cheese with Shrimp. This Mac and cheese was so good I could've just ate a bowl of that for dinner and been happy. You wouldn't expect to find vegan dishes at a steakhouse, but Kres has a whole vegan menu with tons of options. I started off with the Pear Martini, which was very refreshing and not too sweet. I ordered off the Kres Vegan prix fixe menu, which gives you an appetizer, entree, and dessert for $49. I thought it was well worth the money! The Chickpea & Artichoke "Crab" Cake was very good and crispy. It was served with some pickled vegetables that paired very nicely. The Vegan "Beef" Wellington was a stunning dish, unlike anything I have tried before. The flavor was amazing, and the vegan beef had a spot-on meat texture. I also loved the sweet potato mash. The churro waffle was crispy and covered with cinnamon sugar. The vegan ice cream was amazing and went perfectly with the warm waffle. I went, for my birthday, on 03/22 and my family members got stuck behind an accident, on the way to dinner. Instead of making us wait, we were seated and the great time began. We couldn't sit together, but we were near each other. I ordered the krab cake, chik'n, and the waffle cone from the vegan menu, it was so good (I appreciate their vegan menu). My non-vegan family members enjoyed their meals as well. The team was amazing and accommodating, as we had a little too much fun. I appreciate them being flexible. Friendly folks greet you when you walk in. Valet is across the street. The cost is reasonable for the quality of the food. The atmosphere was great, cozy. The bathroom was clean, as usual. And then, the pièce de résistance: witnessing a woman in minimal clothing directing her son to take influencer-in-the-wild photos. Somewhere, a flamingo nodded in approval. We were seated near the front window, distinctly removed from the main dining room, maybe due to a lack of capacity or maybe due to our party of three not giving "VIP bottle service adjacent" energy. It felt a little off but none of us had the energy to contend with it. Final verdict: Kres Chophouse delivers good food wrapped in an identity crisis and paced like a scenic airboat tour. It's not bad, in fact, far from it, but it's also not the culinary revelation it seems to think it is. For lunch our group likes to get the salmon salad, sandwiches and just everything on the menu. The fish sandwich is now a crispy cod and is very fresh and I always get the sweet potatoes fries. I know it's bad etiquette to finish everything on your plate but I just can't help myself. Then we had the bread pudding and it's a perfect sharing dessert. We hadn't been in a few years and really wanted to go back, but there weren't any reservations available online. So we showed up right when the doors opened at 5pm, hoping to grab a spot. The hostess was quick to help us out--she rushed us through the crowd and managed to snag one of the last two tables at the bar for us. We started with the Calamari "Vesuvio", which was delicious. Well, I just discovered they have a lunch menu and their prices are reasonable, so here we are. Came with my coworkers and we sat at the tables by the bar, as the restaurant was very busy. It took some time for our server to get to us, so another server assisted us and brought us our drinks. Our server made it to us and we were ready to order. I ordered the Steak Salad and my coworkers ordered the Chophouse Turkey Club and the Wagyu Cheesesteak Sandwich. Everything looked amazing but my coworker with the Turkey Club noticed her sandwich was fish instead of turkey. We called our server to let her know and she immediately knew what was going on, so she did not even let my coworker explain and took the food away, which I thought was little rude on her part. :( My salad was delicious and the steak medallions were savory, tender and mouthwatering. The ambience is very nice, kind of sultry with the red being the main focus but I loved the detail of the fresh rose on every table. Well you should go somewhere special for your birthday and that's what I did!! Upon arrival we were greeted at the hostess stand with a warm and pleasant "hello welcome to Kres Chophouse"!! After being escorted to our table. Justin was our server and he was amazing!!!! Soft lighting throughout with ref and black decor. I ordered a lavender sky cocktail, lobster bisque, ribeye (20 oz), table share was shrimp and bacon mac and cheese, crispy brussel sprouts, cheesecake. Everything was delicious (the steak was even better the second day). If you're looking for a place to have a special dinner this is the place. read more

Went to Kres Chophouse with friends and absolutely enjoyed everything from start to finish. The food was excellent, well prepared, and full of flavor. Every dish we ordered was very delicious. The service was top-notch very professional, attentive, and made the whole experience feel special without being overbearing. The restaurant itself is beautiful, upscale, and has a very elegant ambiance. It's the perfect spot for a date night, celebration, or a fancy night out with friends. Service was terribly slow. Took a little over an hour for the food to arrive. Steaks were overcooked, but the sides we fine. Our table was awkwardly large, which made speaking more loudly than what seemed comfortable given the atmosphere. Overall, this seemed less of a steakhouse and more of a restaurant that happens to have steaks on the menu. read more

Celebrated my 40th birthday here and it was amazing. The fresh bread was so good came with oil to dip it in. I had the 12 oz Wagyu strip with broccolini. And for dessert I had the made to order bread pudding it was so good. My server was Deedee she was great very attentive. So was all the staff we encountered. It's a beautiful restaurant beautiful table setting and atmosphere. I recommend and I will be back again. 10/10 food, service and atmosphere. read more

Kres Chophouse may be known for its steaks, but we turned it into a seafood haven and, honestly, what a win. The shrimp and octopus appetizer was delicious, tender, flavorful, the shrimps were HUGE with a tangy vinegar kick. The restaurant itself is all about bold, moody vibes and everything is red, from the walls to the lighting, giving it a sultry, almost theatrical feel. Came in for a late lunch/ early dinner after a meeting downtown. I was instantly impressed by the white table cloths and decor. It definitely felt upscale. The person I came with was expecting the lunch menu at this time and was disappointed she couldn't get the burger at the table. She had been here before and wasn't aware the menu switched to dinner at 3PM (this was my first time). We were told we could order the burger at the bar along with other light bites but I was starving and saw something I wanted on the dinner menu so we stayed. I got the salmon and it was cookies perfectly with a crispy outside and soft inside and seasoned well. It came with risotto, kale and a sauce. I wasn't a fan of the kale pairing and the sauce was ok but not needed. My friend got the caprese salad and lobster bisque and my husband got the spinach salad. I felt the salads were overpriced for the size and no protein options. Our non alcoholic drinks got empty and we did have to ask for refills. I ordered the Basil Fresca and it just tasted off. I think I was expecting more flavor but it was a little bit like sweet water. We ended with the bread pudding which was delicious. Overall we had a good time and the food was pretty good. This place also offers an extensive vegan menu. read more

My husband and I wanted to meet up with one of my best friends from college and her husband in Orlando and we chose Kres for dinner specifically because they had a vegan menu that didn't look like it was just an after thought for the non-meat eaters and I'm glad we did! We made reservations about a month in advance for February 13th. We arrived at our reserved time and were seated after about a five minute wait. Our waiter was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations! After a lot of internal debate on the cocktails because they all sounded so good, I ended up getting a pistachio martini and it did NOT disappoint in the least! It was a bit sweeter than I wanted with my dinner, but it was overall so good that ultimately I didn't mind at all. I was between the vegan Wellington and the vegan steak, so based on the recommendation of our waiter, I opted for the Wellington with the Idaho mash instead of the sweet potato mash. We also got a side of the truffle fries for the table. Our waiter noted that I had ordered a vegan meal and asked if we wanted the fries vegan as well as they put parmesan on their fries. It was so sweet of him to notice and offer to do that. After ordering, we got bread served to the table with butter, vegan butter, and, my personal favorite, the olive oil dip! The Wellington was very good - the pastry was nice and flaky and the stuffing was flavorful and filling! The truffle fries were nicely seasoned and the truffle was not overpowering at all, but still present. The outside was also crisp to perfection! I would happily come back here to make my way through more of their cocktail and vegan menu! read more
