Kres Chophouse is one of the best steakhouses in the Orlando area! It's perfect for date night or special occasions and the service is always top notch. You can't go wrong with any of the food here; we've been a few times, trying several different menu items, and everything is always excellent. They have a wide variety of steak options, great wine selection and cocktails -- all absolutely incredible. This is definitely more on the high end, so dress accordingly. The ambiance is classy and a bit historic, located right in the middle of downtown. If you're looking for a great meal in the area, look no further!
Amazing I was in town for a special event and had a few hours to grab dinner by myself from entering the door without a résumé to leaving the service was outstanding. The bread was delicious and fresh. I ended up with the fillet Wellington and it was the best thing I've ever had it was better than the one that I had in Las Vegas at Hells kitchen The service in the style of the restaurant was extremely clean and well organized. It was an amazing experience from start to finish 10 out of 10 would go again. The music wasn't too loud. The servers didn't chitchat too much but they also didn't ignore me which was amazing.
Kres Chophouse is hands down one of my absolute FAVORITE restaurants in Orlando! Every single time I come here, the food and service are 10/10. They have yet to disappoint me! I had the ribeye, and baby... THAT STEAK! Cooked perfectly, seasoned perfectly and absolutely delicious. I paired it with the mashed potatoes and mac & cheese, and honestly, you can't go wrong with either one. But that mac & cheese? GET IT! For drinks, I had the strawberry lemon drop and also tried the Movies in the Dark. Both were really good, but you already know I love a good fruity cocktail! The atmosphere, the service, the food... Kres just gets it. Whether it's date night, dinner with friends or just because you feel like eating GOOD, this is one of those places I will recommend over and over again.
Kees is always a good option, especially during happy hour! I always keep coming back for the wagyu carpaccio and espresso martini. Can never go wrong!
Been wanting to try this place since it's one of the only steakhouses in downtown. Checked in and waited a few minutes to get sat. It's a busy place but we got a nice, quiet and semi-blocked off area in the way back. We could kind of see out into the restaurant but they couldn't see us there was a big wall blocking us I liked the vegetarian options and was even curious of the veggie Wellington but got the mixed grill, which was a trio of elk, filet mignon and shrimp. Wasn't told which was Elk from the Filet mignon but you can tell the elk was a little tougher. The vegan Rockefeller was probably my least favorite, too much breading and super small pieces. The food was quite rich with all the butter and vegan butter everywhere and we had some stomach issues afterwards. The drinks seemed to have been incorrect or switched out and were sent it back. When we got newly made drinks, they tasted quite different so the drinks were made inconsistently. They do have the good hard chocolate mint candy at the front
We were here for my little brother's birthday. I got there early went up to the bar which was very nice. Had a large bar area & some tables for two or four people had a wonderful cosmo. When we all arrived we were seated at the very front table of the restaurant on the sidewalk to see all the activity going on downtown. We got appetizers and meals, which were very good very expensive, but the food was delicious. Brother & father had pork chop which they enjoyed. We felt rushed to get out of there, but did enjoy our meal. Waiter was OK. It was nothing special. Nobody made an impression. The restaurant wasn't very full and I wonder if because the prices are so expensive.
We had a fantastic dinner for Father's Day at Kres! I was a little nervous about going there with our 10 month old, but we made an early reservation and everyone at the restaurant was super accommodating and honestly, pretty excited to see him! Our server was wonderful and helped us every bit of the way, he knew the answers to every question and made suggestions and really made our dinner memorable. We got the calamari as an appetizer, and I think it might've been the best calamari that I've ever had.. The pieces were thick and tender and seasoned perfectly, and the breading was light and crispy. We obviously both got steaks and they were cooked wonderfully. Next time we go, we'll leave the baby at home and have a true date night!
Celebrating a milestone anniversary here with my Mr. made quite the impression. It was his pick. Clearly he has good taste. Further evidence, his choice of spouse. Anyhoo.... stepping into the place sets the mood for romance. It has a sexiness to it, with red tones, retro vibes, and ambiance lighting. Lately I'm really appreciating the historical value of venues, and this building definitely has it. Originally constructed in the 30s as a five-and-dime retailer, the current upscale dining is a departure from those earlier days, yet respectful of the nostalgic aura. Honestly I wasn't wowed by the service. Not lacking in meeting needs, yet also not a standout in the experience for me. The food, however, was stellar. My Filet Wellington was indulgently tender and all our sides were delicious. Even as leftovers, it still hit almost the same. No stringent dress code here. People in t-shirts, maybe just from the theme parks. Not so upscale in that regard.
Last night my friend took me to Kres for an early birthday celebration. The hostesses were SO welcoming and kind and wished me a happy birthday. The ambiance of the restaurant was very intimate and dimly lit, with black and red accents everywhere, including the tables with one red rose placed in a small vase. Bojan was our server and he was spectacular. He explained the wine list and menu to us and asked if we needed any assistance in choosing / had any questions about the menu. My only complaint of the evening is our appetizers seemed to take a tad bit long to be served, but everything else was fabulous. I ordered the tequila lavender cocktail, which is nothing like I've ever tasted before. It had coconut cream, lime, tequila, and lavender. It was delicious. We started off by sharing a Caesar salad and Parmesan truffle fries. We also were served bread service with a side of garlic oil. The caesar salad was served with a Parmesan pita crisp, and the fries were very crunchy and delicious. We split two entrees: the salmon and the vegan stuffed shells. The stuffed shells were fairly small, with only 4 in the entree, but was nonetheless flavorful and delicious. I almost forgot it was vegan! The salmon was a large cut and served over a creamy risotto and was my favorite of the evening. It was delicious. We ordered the lava cake for dessert and Bojan went the extra mile by placing a birthday candle inside of it and ended up providing the dessert on the house! This was so special and we appreciated it so much.
My girl took me here for dinner and honestly you gotta try it out, the prices are great for the quality you're getting. Everything hit, appetizer I recommend are the escargot personally. Service was personable and great and valet is only 20$
We walked here from our hotel for dinner. It was a little busy. Without a reservation they said we could wait 45 minutes or sit at the bar. We chose to sit at the bar. The restaurant is nicely decorated. It feels warm and inviting. Clean, but nostalgic. The waiter/bartender was wonderful. Very attentive, friendly and hard working. They were super busy, but we felt well-taken care of. I ordered the 8oz filet with broccolini as a side. We ordered truffle fries to share as a table. We had a couple of glasses of wine. The meal was delicious. Everything came out perfect! I would definitely return. But I'd make reservations next time.
I would give Kres Chophouse more than five stars if I could. We chose this spot for a last-minute dinner, and it ended up being one of the best meals I've had in Orlando. We sat at the bar and were taken care of by Heidi, who was incredibly sweet and gave great recommendations. We ordered a variety of dishes and drinks to try, and everything exceeded our expectations. The dim lighting creates such an intimate setting, which made the whole experience feel even more special. I've already recommended this place to my girlfriends, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit!
Amazing anniversary dinner! The service is fantastic, and we loved our food. The interior is dark and has classic steakhouse vibes. You wouldn't expect to find vegan dishes at a steakhouse, but Kres has a whole vegan menu with tons of options. I started off with the Pear Martini, which was very refreshing and not too sweet. I ordered off the Kres Vegan prix fixe menu, which gives you an appetizer, entree, and dessert for $49. I thought it was well worth the money! The Chickpea & Artichoke "Crab" Cake was very good and crispy. It was served with some pickled vegetables that paired very nicely. The Vegan "Beef" Wellington was a stunning dish, unlike anything I have tried before. The flavor was amazing, and the vegan beef had a spot-on meat texture. I also loved the sweet potato mash. The churro waffle was crispy and covered with cinnamon sugar. The vegan ice cream was amazing and went perfectly with the warm waffle. My husband ordered the Filet with a side of Parmesan Mashed Potatoes. He loved his steak, and we both thought the potatoes were delicious and smooth. We also shared the creme brulee, which had a great crust on top. This dinner was pricey but very worth it. The service was amazing from start to finish, and we both left so full.

My husband planned a date night and set up a reservation for Kres Chophouse. When you walk in it's dark and romantic with a single light and fresh flower on each table. Our server was very polite and attentive. He also was very helpful when looking at the menu, since it was our first time dining. We ordered the Calamari for an appetizer, my husband ordered the 16oz Ribeye, and I ordered the Filets with Shrimp and Carbonara, and a Bread a Pudding for dessert. The calamari was so tender, fresh, and seasoned really well. My husband's ribeye was cooked to perfection and was so soft a butter knife could cut through it. My filet and shrimp tasted amazing. The carbonara had fresh veggies and the egg yolk mixed into the pasta make it into a silky sauce. The steak was the best steak I've had in Orlando in a very long time. We also ordered a side of Mac and Cheese with Shrimp. This Mac and cheese was so good I could've just ate a bowl of that for dinner and been happy. To finish our meal we had bread pudding and it was the perfect ending to the meal. The hospitality and quality of food was next level and I'm shocked more people aren't talking about Kres. I will definitely be back in the near future. read more

Wow Best seat in the house next to the window. The food was cooked to PERFECTION. I had the best oysters of my life and the peach martini had a STRONG taste but the peach was just enough. Our server was fantastic and each item we ate is making us want to come back right away. I ordered the NY Strip with Shrimp and my husband had the Wagyu. The steak was absolutely delicious and cooked so well. We will be adding this into our rotation. read more
We celebrated my birthday at Kres and had a truly phenomenal experience. The service was ON POINT and the food was so dang good. It's a big space but make sure you have a reservation. We were seated about 10 minutes after our reservation - but to be fair, my birthday is the day before Valentine's Day. Make sure you give yourself time to park, street parking is limited. Service was an A+. We had plenty of table touches, great cocktails, appropriately hot/cold food, you can name it. They gave us a fun birthday dessert that was INSANELY GOOD. Everything was fresh and delicious and I'm honestly ready to come back again. read more
The ambience at this restaurant is date night, certified and special occasions, like birthdays and anniversary. My boyfriend took me here for my birthday and all the recommendations by the server were top-notch. We started off with the carpaccio (not pictured) which lead to our delicious main course, which was the New York strip steak perfectly done Pittsburgh style, and the shrimp and bacon mac & cheese. I highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion or even a quick drink at the bar with some appetizers. You can't go wrong. read more
Listen... when your husband picks the spot for your 21st wedding anniversary and actually gets it RIGHT... yeah, I had to give him his props From the moment we walked into Kres Chophouse, the tone was set. The hostesses were polite, welcoming, and attentive... one even gave us a heads up to watch our step on the way to the table. Small detail, big impression. Now let's talk about Justin, our waiter... baby, when I say top-tier service, I mean that. He had that effortless vibe like "I'd grab drinks with him" energy, but still kept it professional. He wasn't hovering, wasn't missing... just right there when needed. You could tell he treats every table with care because other guests were low-key watching how he handled us... and we all had that silent "yeah, he's good" moment. IYKYK. What really stood out though... the teamwork. We watched the staff reset and prepare for another party, and it was like a well-oiled machine. No chaos, no confusion... just smooth coordination. Even the manager made rounds, spoke to guests, and personally brought out our calamari appetizer. That kind of presence matters. Now the food... whew. The calamari? Seasoned ALL the way through... not just a little sprinkle on the outside. You could taste it in the meat... and that's how it's supposed to be done. My husband ordered the pork chop... which threw me off because we don't even eat pork like that. But listen... he trusted the reviews and took a chance... and it paid off. Tender, juicy, seasoned right... every bite. And then... we did what we always do... turned a table for two into a whole situation Ribeye... shrimp & bacon mac... au gratin potatoes... Brussels sprouts (because yes, we always getting Brussels )... We are real deal food people... not just eating, but tasting. Flavor profiles, seasoning, texture... all of it. I grew up in the kitchen with my grandmother, so trust... I know what I'm talking about. And Kres? They delivered. Bottom line... the service was impeccable, the food matched the energy, and the overall experience felt intentional... not rushed, not forced... just right. What a delightful place to visit! I wanted to show my cousin the upmost appreciation and asked her where she'd like to have dinner. She's vegan and had been here before. The atmosphere is amazing! Not too loud to have great conversations and enjoy each other's company. As for the food... I wanted to try the vegan menu and it did not disappoint! I had the pear toast - oh my! So light and delicious! Went with the ricotta & spinach stuffed shells - yummy! And the "brookie" for dessert. My cousin had her "usual": Portobello vegan escargot, vegan beef Wellington, and churro waffle. The service was outstanding! A+ I most definitely want to come back with my husband! read more
Once again, Kres did not disappoint. I know I don't need to make reviews each time I go, but I just had to make this one. I went, for my birthday, on 03/22 and my family members got stuck behind an accident, on the way to dinner. Instead of making us wait, we were seated and the great time began. We couldn't sit together, but we were near each other. I ordered the krab cake, chik'n, and the waffle cone from the vegan menu, it was so good (I appreciate their vegan menu). My non-vegan family members enjoyed their meals as well. The team was amazing and accommodating, as we had a little too much fun. I appreciate them being flexible. Friendly folks greet you when you walk in. Valet is across the street. The cost is reasonable for the quality of the food. The atmosphere was great, cozy. The bathroom was clean, as usual. Overall, Kres is a great place to dine for any occasion. Even if you're just hungry and want to vibe while you dine, Kres could be your place. The drinks are, typically, very delicious and you can taste what needs to be tasted (wink). Unfortunately, my Flower drink wasn't as tasty as it usually is. I didn't send it back because I drank it anyway . I figured they were in a rush or something, it's a one-off. Ultimately, I know my drink will be right the next time I go back. read more

Dining at Kres Chophouse feels a bit like spotting a gator in a golf course pond: technically impressive, mildly confusing, and you're never entirely sure who's in charge of the situation. The service moved at the pace of an Orlando theme park line in July but with fewer refreshments. My glass of strawberry lemonade sat empty long enough to qualify as a drought, and it's not like that drink required a mixologist. By the time we hit the 1-hour-and-10-minute mark and had just wrapped appetizers with still more waiting, I began to wonder if our entrées were being sourced locally... on foot. Speaking of appetizers, the lineup read like a greatest hits album: * Escargot: slightly overcooked, proving that even snails can be rushed in Florida. I've had more tender bites on a Carnival Cruise, which is a sentence I don't write lightly. * Snake River Wagyu Carpaccio: Undeniably delicious, though presented as if Jackson Pollock had a late-night caper incident. The drizzle and scatter distracted from what could've been a minimalist masterpiece. * Filet Mignon steak tartare: Solid, but missing the classic quail egg, which felt like forgetting Mickey's ears at Disney, technically fine, but why would you? All of it was good. None of it was unforgettable. Like a Florida sunset slightly upstaged by a passing jet ski. The main courses redeemed things somewhat: * The New Zealand elk paired with shrimp and bacon mac and cheese was genuinely delicious and confidently Floridian in its "why not both?" energy. That said, no one asked how it should be cooked, which felt bold for a place that charges like it definitely should? * The jumbo cold water lobster tail with Three Cheese Au Gratin and Parmesan mashed potatoes was equally solid. No complaints, no standing ovation. Then there's the ambiance, which deserves its own reality show as things go full-Florida. Kres seems caught between identities: is it a high-end chophouse or a downtown lounge with steak privileges? * Seductive red lighting at the bar (date night) * European-style crown molding (low budget Caesar's palace) * Japanese-inspired light fixtures (Tokyo drift, but make it steak) * Deep red walls (Miami nightclub) It' lacked a cohesive aesthetic and was giving "Epcot pavilion after two margaritas." A sign at the entrance politely requested no ball caps or provocative clothing, ironic really. It was about as enforceable as "no feeding the wildlife" in Florida. Caps and clothing provocateur were abundantly present, adding to the ongoing identity crisis. And then, the pièce de résistance: witnessing a woman in minimal clothing directing her son to take influencer-in-the-wild photos. Somewhere, a flamingo nodded in approval. We were seated near the front window, distinctly removed from the main dining room, maybe due to a lack of capacity or maybe due to our party of three not giving "VIP bottle service adjacent" energy. It felt a little off but none of us had the energy to contend with it. Final verdict: Kres Chophouse delivers good food wrapped in an identity crisis and paced like a scenic airboat tour. It's not bad, in fact, far from it, but it's also not the culinary revelation it seems to think it is. Come to Kres Chophouse for lunch or dinner, and expect a fabulous dining experience! You want to make a reservation before coming, even for lunch. But when you do, you are fretted warmly and the ambience is calm and lovely inside. I tried a swordfish dish, and swordfish is just a dense white fish which can be hard to work with. But it was just divine, all the flavors worked together perfectly and I finished the whole plate. Our servers were super nice and attentive, and it is spendier to eat here but it is well worth it with the whole experience. read more

Amazing dinner last night at Kres. Great service, wish I got the servers name he was great, and upscale but comfortable ambiance. Food was one of thr best meals I've had in Orlando in quite some time (outside of bosphorous on park ave obviously). We started with calarami, perfect start. I had the chicken piccata and it was amazing. My mom had the tile fish, brother had the duck and moms husband had the steak/shrimp. Could not recommend this place enough so glad to see this place thriving in Downtown as its historically not the foodiest part of Orlando. See pics below! read more
The baby spinach salad pretty good though the warm bacon dressing was a bit strange due to the temperature difference of the cold greens. The flavor of the salmon was good, though may have been a bit overdone, saved by the sauce. Side of garlic parm green beans was delicious. Ambiance was upscale with dim lighting. Service was adequate, but quite stuffy. Overall an okay experience, but I don't think it's worth the hefty price tag it carries. read more
Omg. This place knows how to make Vegan food. Let me start by saying, I'm not vegan. My son is vegan and he invited me to this amazing steakhouse for mother's day. He heard from coworkers that they had a full vegan menu. Guys, everything was so good! I got the pork chop and pork belly but everything else, the appetizer and dessert was vegan. The sourdough bread was so good and the vegan butter was amazing. We started with "oysters" Rockefeller (oyster mushrooms, vegan parm and some other yummy stuff on an artichoke "shell") as our appetizer. My son got the vegan "beef" wellington and he said it was really really good. The dessert was a churro waffle with vegan housemade ice cream that was to die for. Unfotunately i forgot to take a pic of it. Definitely need to come back. Our server Robert was amazing and kind! read more
We went to Kres Chophouse before seeing The Nutcracker at the Dr. Phillips Center, and it ended up being a great choice. We hadn't been in a few years and really wanted to go back, but there weren't any reservations available online. So we showed up right when the doors opened at 5pm, hoping to grab a spot. The hostess was quick to help us out--she rushed us through the crowd and managed to snag one of the last two tables at the bar for us. We started with the Calamari "Vesuvio", which was delicious. I ordered the Roasted Half Duck, and my husband had the Filet & Shrimp from the Classics & Creative section. Both dishes were excellent, and we paired them with a bottle of Belle Glos Pinot Noir Las Alturas, which worked perfectly with the meal. The service was lovely--both our waiter and waitress were friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was spot-on for a date night: lively but not overwhelming. The music was loud enough to give some privacy from nearby tables, but we could still hear each other easily. Parking is a bit tricky since it's mostly street parking or garages, but being within walking distance of the theater made it super convenient. Overall, it was a great night--fantastic food, great service, and a nice vibe. We'll definitely be back. read more

Celebrated our anniversary at Kres Chophouse, and as always, the food was absolutely amazing. This is one of our go-to spots for special occasions because the quality and consistency never miss. We started with a Caesar salad to share -- crisp, fresh, and perfectly dressed. Simple, but done right. For our mains, we ordered the 20oz ribeye and the 16oz lobster tail. The ribeye was beautifully seasoned with the perfect sear on the outside and juicy, flavorful center. And the lobster tail? Huge, just like they always are. Tender, buttery, and cooked perfectly -- easily one of the standout dishes every time we come. We also had the shrimp and bacon mac and cheese (without the bacon), and it was still rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. The shrimp were cooked just right and blended perfectly into the dish. The ambiance is intimate and upscale without feeling stuffy -- perfect for celebrating something special. Service was attentive without being overbearing, which made our anniversary dinner feel even more relaxed and enjoyable. Kres truly never disappoints. 10 years later and 5 RESOUNDING stars for spectacular steaks and service, and an additional vegan menu that SHINES! My sister and I eat meat and our husbands are vegetarians. This makes Kres one of the few upscale steakhouses where we are all accommodated since they have a robust vegan menu. It's full of seitan and tofu dishes that mimic traditional steakhouse dishes and it is clear that there was a lot of care, creativity, and intention in crafting this vegetarian / vegan menu to go along with their regular meat-forward menu. Parking: There's convenient parking garages all around Kress, but my preference is the valet just outside on Church Street ($20, but it's a fancy night out, so I'm down). Our server, Angelica, was a GEM. She truly helped make this a standout evening. with suggestions and great banter. I'd ask for her again next time! Food Faves: - Filet Wellington: This was my dish and I was blown away. It was the most perfect Wellington I've ever had. The flavors were deep and the pastry was flakey. It was worth the $50+ price tag. - I tried my sister's Filet (thinking there was no way it could compete with the Wellington) and the rich flavor took me by surprise. No sauce needed- this was a well-seasoned hunk of premium meat. And the medium rare cook was perfect. - White Chocolate Bread Pudding: This is a truly fabulous dessert. Hot meets cold with the bread pudding and whisky sauce hitting the vanilla ice cream. We shared this and the seasonal cheesecake, but our table was evenly divided on a favorite. Everything else we ordered was great and there were truly no misses. My vegetarian husband was thrilled to have something other than a salad or mushroom dish, and the vegan menu pricing was seriously reasonable. Kres Chophouse delivered one of the best dining experiences we've had in downtown Orlando. The location itself is beautiful, and from the moment we walked in, the service was impeccable. Our server, Eric, was outstanding--attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful in guiding us toward great choices on the menu. We started with the lobster bisque, which was absolutely amazing, rich, flavorful, and the perfect way to begin the meal. I ordered the ribeye with the shrimp oscar, and it was hands down the best steak I've had in years. Perfectly cooked and incredibly satisfying. My wife chose the spinalis steak, and it was nothing short of perfection. Every bite exceeded expectations. We'll definitely be back. read more

We love this steakhouse and typically come in for happy hour or perfect just before a show or concert at the kia center nextdoor. Service was on point as usual. Our wait staff was very attentive and upbeat. They brought items out fresh and without delay. Thanks for recommending the octopus and shrimp appetizer. We had never noticed it and boy were We excited to have it. Absolutely amazing. So soft and tender - just like the ribeye and full of flavor. What stood out this visit was the vegan strawberry ice cream churro waffle. Mind blown. Usually with vegan, you tend to give up flavor BUT not here!! read more
This is tough. Service is always fantastic and the steaks are generally pretty good. The rotating other options can be great or just not good it really depends since they often change the menu options. They are pretty much the ONLY game in downtown for an upscale dining date or business dinner. You will find them priced appropriately since there are not many other options. I mean downtown is struggling and the historic building that is maintained very well is appreciated. Please not how many people here comment on how fantastic the service is so maybe it's worth a premium price to get excellent service. That's for you to decide but you can bank on getting a good piece of steak nonetheless. read more

What are the parking options at the restaurant that is nearby & cost?
They have valet, or you could park in the parking garage across the street or at 55W. Sometimes you can find street parking if you want to walk a little. There's tons of parking garages nearby and some surface lots. I'm unsure of the costs though,…
How loud is the dining room? For a fine dining experience, while I don't expect library quiet, I don't want my family and I to have to raise our voices to each other to be heard, due to music playing that is too loud.
There isn't loud music playing here. On busy nights in can get a little noisy, but I've never had difficulty talking at normal conversations level.
Is Reservation required?
No. But recommended for Friday Saturday. Bar seating available if restaurant is full.
Is there a happy hour?
Yes !! They have a great bar area Always call the Restaurant
Is the vegan menu only offered Saturdays? Or can I get vegan options throughout the week?
You can get the vegan menu any day of the week, however Saturday's have extra items to choose from, chef specials.

Yes. I wore a dress with spaghetti straps and flip flops. As long as you're in good taste, you'll be fine

Has any one tried the beef Wellington?
I would get it every time! It was amazing. It was quite a while ago and I wouldn't get it past medium.
