It was such a great first experience walking into this restaurant on a whim while heading somewhere else. I'm glad we decided to change our plans. My husband and I were greeted warmly and seated promptly. We arrived right when they opened, so we were among the first to get in. The restaurant was decorated in a cultural style throughout, and the booths were charmed with Korean children's books. Our server asked whether it was our first time there, then explained how the ordering process works. We started with a delicious appetizer, pajeon (pan-fried seafood scallion pancake), crispy on the outside, warm and well-seasoned inside. We also enjoyed a few banchan (small side dishes served with rice) alongside our appetizer. Our main dishes were grilled bulgogi (grilled beef) and Jeyuk Bokkeum (spicy stir-fried pork). All of the dishes were delicious, the prices are fair, and we look forward to returning next time to use the grill.

Just went and loved it! Everyone there was so nice! They went above and beyond I terms of service where they constantly looked after our little one and were always making sure we were ok. The food was also excellent, we got the small bbq beef combo and it was more than enough for the 3 of us. And the price was great too. Considering how high the quality of the meat was, we were shocked by how reasonable the price was. Highly recommend here.

Food- great quality meats with unique, seemingly gourmet Korean side dishes. Presentation excellent. The Namdo Special was a fantastic value! Service- Prompt, friendly, knowledgeable. We loved the fact that we didn't smell like bbq when we left because of their special suction grills. This is definitely my new favorite spot for Korean BBQ

Our party was excited to try a new Korean BBQ in Bothell. If looks and presentation were worthy categories for a 5 star review, I think Namdo would deserve it. Unfortunately, the dining experience fell short of expectations. Heres why: We ordered the Namdo Special (Regular, $159) which comes with premium banchan (side dishes) included. The banchan exceeded expectations! Some noteworthy side dishes were the beef tartar, fried potato pancake, and pickles sampler. The meat quality was above average with again excellent presentation. The brisket, ribeye, short rib all come unseasoned, so dipping into sesame oil, salt, soybean paste, and their house sauce is a must. For a family of 4 ordering the regular special set, the total price after tip and tax is $200. For an establishment that presents itself as a unique and higher-end KBBQ restaurant, $200 does not include the staff changing the grill or cooking the meats. It is expected to cook your own meats at lower-end KBBQ or at AYCE. For this set menu, we expected more staff service to pair with the presentation of the meal. Our party left with our bellies full and content with visiting. However, at this price point we expected higher quality service, noting they are running understaffed and reminders were necessary to clear plates, items to be brought to the table, and to check in on how we were doing. I think others would agree that Namdo has areas to improve in for the level of service, execution of dining experience, especially for the volume of food offered at this price point. We do appreciate the great atittudes the staff at Namdo had. They were extremely friendly, accommodating, and flexible. I would like to see Namdo address these staffing challenges and provide full service meat preparation and grilling, tableside.

We just moved here from CA Bay Area, and missed the KBBQ there. NAMDO is hands down one of my favorite spots now. PROS: - we ordered the small Beef Combo, and it was plenty of food for 2 people. Would recommend getting an additional item if you have 3 people. The meats were DELICIOUS! I normally don't like marinated meats but every plate of meat was delicious. - the small beef combo had 7 dishes of meats. Not huge portions or each, but I appreciated the variety and quality, over quantity. - They gave 2 sauce options and I don't know what was in them, but they were freaking delicious! - the Beef combo came with different options for a side stew. We went with their new risotto which was a mix of beef, rice and noodles. It was delicious!! - the staff were SO kind and helpful! OKAY: - the banchan display was beautiful, and the bean sprout dish, salad and kimchi were good! They also gave a small bone broth soup which was delicious. - FYI $5 banchan refill. We didn't need to refill, but this was the first time I've seen this at a KBBQ place. I can see why though, there was a lot of thought in their banchan items. - I wish the risotto stew came out around the same time as the meats. It came out at the end after we were almost done eating, but honestly not a big deal! Overall: would definitely recommend for an affordable KBBQ spot with high quality meats and marinades!

We were excited to hear about a new Korean restaurant in Bothell so my husband, myself, and mom in law gave it a try during its soft opening. It pains me to write this review but we all left disappointed. I love to support local Korean restaurants (I'm Korean!!) but overall, this restaurant was expensive and equally stingy. We understand it's a soft opening and they have to work some stuff out. Nevertheless, here's my overview: 1) The banchan/side dishes were high quality. I loved the beef bone broth soup in the beginning. The down side is that refilling the side dishes cost $5 so make sure to finish all your side dishes! Maybe offer 1st round of side dishes as free and then $5 for 2nd round (?). There was about three pieces of kimchi and the pickled sides were small piles. The salad was pretty but the dressing had no flavor. 2) Rice did not come with our order/meal. We ordered ddukboki appetizer, beef brisket, and pork belly a la carte and ended up having no rice because we didn't want to pay $3 per rice - that's $9 for 3 people. This alone won't have us coming back. 3) The ddukboki looked great but unfortunately barely had any rice cakes and mainly was filled with extra stuff. For $15+, not quite worth it. 4) We arrived at 1:30 pm and ordered pajeon (seafood pancake and our favorite) only to find out they ran out (?) after we ordered. We recommend you indicate this on the online portal so customers are not disappointed. 5) The quantity of meat was very small. There was a small plate of beef brisket and three long pieces of pork belly. We usually end up full after KBBQ but we were still hungry and ended up going to McDonald's afterwards (no joke). They gave us one mushroom top (literally 1) to go with the beef brisket. We split it into two tiny pieces for my husband and I. 6) The menu and ordering all goes through a screen on one end of the table so expect one person to handle this part. I had to read off all the menu items to everyone and we ended up asking a physical menu for my mom in law who was older. Hopefully they can accommodate methods of ordering for all generations or have a QR code so everyone can at least look at the menu. 7) Customer service was not the most memorable. The kids were polite but lackluster. We were checked on once only throughout the meal. I feel like for a soft opening, you want to be slightly more generous so people can speak volumes about their experience and refer other people. Their business model (charging for rice, side orders, lack of exciting and invigorating customer service) won't be sustainable. We love the AYCE KBBQ Palace in Bellevue but live in Lake Stevens so we want a go-to Korean BBQ place to go to that is closer. I'm so sorry for the tough review but hope the owners see this in making some improvements with eliminating charging for rice and side dishes. PLEASE DO NOT NICKEL AND DIME customers. You will lose customers before you gain :(. My family owned a small Korean restaurants for decades and I know the incredible hard work that goes behind all of this and really want this place to succeed but please read your reviews!

Namdo special

The service was amazing, the owners are so sweet!! You could tell that the owners love their customers and take such good care of you while eating. They gave a bunch of delicious banchan (side dishes) and the food was so memorable I will for sure be coming back! This is definitely my new favorite Korean barbecue place. Everything from the service, food, ambience, and even cooking on the grill was very enjoyable!

Cold noodles

Service and amiance was great. Food was just okay. We got the cold noodles, fried chicken, and kimchee fried rice. Cold noodles were too sweet and did not have very many toppings, broth, or ice and was somewhat bland, even with 1/3 bottle of vinegar and the tiny hot mustard that was provided. It was also not very cold. Fried chicken was not typical of Korean fried chicken reminded me of fast food chicken tenders and most of the basket was filled with fries (this would be good for kids). The fried rice could use a little more kimchee and seasoning. Probably would not get these dishes again for the flavor or the price. I would give it another chance to try the meat.

For a group of four adults with a normal hungry, we ordered a small beef set and fried chicken, which was plenty. The banchan was fantastic, especially the Myungranjut. You know it's good when you pull up the establishment and they have not only a long line, but also a paper dictating what is sold out, which they update on a 10-15 minute interval. Waiting in line is the most time consuming part of this experience, as we probably waited 20-30 minutes to get to the front to place our order - which is good sign! You can definitely formulate what meats and sides you want as you get closer to the front. Parking for the restaurant is a bit difficult, I think the only options we found while visiting was streetside, and we were fortunate to find a spot only a block away. I could totally see it being impossible to find parking when it gets really busy in the area. Once you get your food, there is plenty of seating, from high tops, to booths, to tables, to outdoor seating with a fire pit. We got a good variety of items, which I'll review a couple down below: Brisket: A good brisket with a nice visible smoke ring. Similar to the pork belly, you can tell the skill of a barbecue restaurant from how their brisket is, and this brisket is delicious! Really meaty and pleasant smoke flavor. I think we did get a leaner cut of brisket as there wasn't as much fat to help with the leanness. Beef Cheek: A delicious cut of meat that melts in the mouth, and has a pleasant smokey flavor. Out of the three cuts of meat, this one was unfortunately salted the heaviest. The first couple of bites are delicious and really delicious, but it goes really overwhelming the more you eat it. If you order this, definitely get some sides to help. Pomegrante Pork Belly: A solid BBQ pork belly that has a pleasing fatty crust with a meaty interior. This is what I would consider a good baseline for a reputable barbecue restaurant. It is advertised as pomegrante pork belly, but I unfortunately wasn't able to taste any flavor of pomengrate - maybe a tiny bit in the glaze/bark but that could just be attributed to the sugar. Mac and Cheese: A pretty comforting side! bechamel sauce is really creamy and fully coats each noodle. The noodles were at the sweet spot of soft and having enough integrity to hold their shape. Cherry and Rhubarb Cobbler: Wow, this is an amazing dessert! I haven't had a cobbler where they added cardamom to the crust before, and I think it works spectacularly. The cardamom gives a nice floral taste to the crust, which is complemented by the tart and fruity filling. I think this is one of the better if not best desserts I've had a barbecue shop, and the small tweaks made were creative and delicious! In the end, I think we paid about $100 for everything you see here. Having been to a couple of BBQ places, I would say that it is pretty standard pricing. Good BBQ does take a lot of effort and it does come at a premium. Outsider BBQ is absolutely delicious - if you are looking to get some comforting food, they definitely have you covered. I would totally revisit to try their items that got sold out (missed the beef cheeks, need to try those!) the time we visited!
