I can understand why this place hasn't gotten the greatest reviews, however I must say that the prices definitely compensate for where some elements of service may lack. I got a previous set removed and a new set of French dip nails for only $55 which is essentially unheard of around this part of the country! Tammy is very sweet and easy to communicate with and though the switching work between Tammy and the man isn't ideal, I would say I am happy with the results enough to not be too upset. I ran across Nails paradise and have had nothing but luck. It's truly never over crowded, and the service is fast. Time is money, and if I decide to go on my lunch break, I am done in under an hour. I usually have my brows threaded, but was short on time, so opted in for waxing. I was not disappointed. Never knew this location was here. My sister treated us to pedicures after lots of walking. She was able to make reservations which was nice and masks are still required. We were given seats to each other but they just weren't very consistent. My sister was offered the massage chair where I was not. I finally asked for it but it didn't move up & down my back no matter what button I pushed. Mine was just focused on my lower back which hurt after awhile. My guy also asked if I wanted callus removal which I said no since most places do give you a callus scrub, just not the extra $5 usual for more removal. My sister got it. My guy barely scrubbed anything with the pummis, shortest, weakest one I've had over 20yrs of pedicures. I also asked for rounded toes since I know most places like to do square now. However my toes weren't that rounded which I can deal with. Yet 1 big toe was cut down more then the other. I did ask him to fix which it was a little. After it's all done, I'm looking over my toes and not my full nailbeds are polished on some. :( My sister paid and it was $67 for 2. Mine should have also been cheaper since I didn't get the extra callus (or any for that matter) but who knows. They didn't give us a breakdown. Interesting. It was ok. Oh we got regular pedicures. Tammy does a beautiful job. I've had acrylic powder on my natural nails and I've had basic mani with gel polish. I've never been disappointed. I've gone to this nail salon several times and never had an issue until recently, therefore I shall not ever return. It's all about customer service! Just because I do not respond does not mean I do not understand what the you are saying about me in Vietnamese. Gal #1, very nice lady that has worked on me before and knows not to pry into my business, was working on my pedicure. Gal #2 comes along and starts on my manicure. She starts talking to Gal #1 and says, "should we persuade her to get the gels for her nails?" and Gal #1 shakes her head no. STRIKE #1 I'm a very simple/easy customer, I come here for them to cut my nails straight because I stink at it and I do not care much for the lotion and hand/foot massage. So when I decline those services, Gal #2 says, "why does she even come here to get her nails done when she doesn't have any cuticles to cut or wants the lotion/massage?" I am paying this gal for a manicure, so if I decide to opt out on some of the services then it is my prerogative. I am technically making her job easier by cutting out a few steps. Why are you complaining, you are getting paid regardless. STRIKE #2 So before I get my fingernails painted, I pay for my services. I give Gal #2 my card, she rings me up, and I sign the paper. She then says, "this girl didn't event tip us a dollar!" Are you stinkin' serious right now? I've been really patient and kept my mouth shut for the past 45 minutes. How much more of this can I take? FYI- I tend to tip in cash. STRIKE #3 So finally, the straw that broke the camel's back...while Gal #2 paints the base coat on one hand, I reach into my purse to grab the tip money. She then says, "if she's going to grab the money, might as well do it now because I don't want to redo her nails if it scratches up." I look up at her and said I understand what you are saying and don't worry I will tip you. Gal #1 and Gal # 2 looked up and both had a shocked expression on their face. Afterwards, Gal #2 started being really nice and asked if I needed help going to my car etc. etc. etc... Well guess what? Gal #2 ruined my experience and I am never coming back to this salon. This is the best nail salon ever! I have been to so many nail salons and my nails always break within a few weeks. I have very brittle nails and I'm sure it has something to do with it, but Nails Paradise managed to still be able to take care of me and my nails last for over a month--imagine!!!! They use the best materials and glue! In addition, Anthony and Tammy are both so professional and make sure your nails are perfect! I don't even need to tell them what to do because they always do a perfect job! I have been going to them for several years and during Covid, due to moving, I had to go to other nail salons that ended up damaging my nails :(!!! I went in here a few days ago with one of my close girlfriends. I'm pretty skeptical going into a new nail salon, but this was by far the worst one yet. I'll give the lady that did them credit for how social she was- I got a regular fill in my acrylic and she was oh so unbelievably sloppy about it! I figured okay- maybe she's so good at this she's faster than anyone that has ever done them before! The shape came out wonderful, but she left pieces of the previous paint on the bottom. This place is cool. I came in desperately needing a pedicure and found this salon near my place. I didn't have to wait at all and was seated right away. The ladies here are SUPER nice which I like and it's creepily quiet in here. The ladies rarely conversed with each other in another language which was a nice change since a lot of nail salons tend to do that. One thing that was kind of unfortunate was that they didn't really have a big selection on OPI. I really like the OPI brands bc I feel like it lasts way longer than any other nail paint. After selecting my color, the whole pedicure process was good. The lady did a great job on my toes and I really liked how she gave me polka dot toes. They are very thorough during their process and takes their time and doesn't try to rush you or haggle you for anything. They definitely do a good job on making your wigglies look super nice. During my pedicure, I noticed there was a couple of the salon workers taking a nap in the corner bc there weren't any customers during that time. HAHA I thought it was pretty funny how they just had no shame in just passing out like that in front customers. Classy~ Other than that, it was a good experience. Absolutely terrible customer service from Anthony . Two stars because the nails I ENDED UP with were rather pretty. Went in, was quoted 50 dollars for pink and white dip nails. 55 for coffin shape. I asked told him I wanted gradient nails. Natural pink and white. He points to a few swatches, a hot pink and white gradient one and a couple glitter gradient and says "Ombre nail, very beautiful." I said "Yes! But I don't like hot pink for winter. I want natural." He says "Okay, natural pink and white dip nails." I replied "Yes." He starts the process and later I look down and realize that he had already given me 5 french tips in coffin shape! Way too much white space and it was lumpy and gross. I quietly explained that I did not think he understood what I meant and would like to do something else. The response was ALARMING. He set down his tools, became angry and rude started shouting to his coworker Tammy "I TOLD HER FROM THE BEGINNING. NOW SHE DOESN'T LIKE THEM. DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO. I TOLD HER FROM THE BEGINNING" in front of all the other customers. She came over and tapped his arm and said something sharply in another language before turning to me and apologizing and helping me come to a solution He ANGRILY and ROUGHLY filed my hands with the electric nail file to take off his shoddy work. Wrecking my cuticles and absolutely berating me. YELLING (yes YELLING) that I should have said something earlier. He went far enough to say I WASTED HIS TIME. I came here last minute for gel nail mani and regular pedicure. It is close to where I live so thought would try it out. I am giving three stars for the fact that they took me immediately and stayed past closing time to finish up my nails. However, I am concerned about the cleanliness of this place. They do use the throw away plastic covers for the pedicure basins, but the tools are in a box, not being pulled out of a sanitary autoclave bag. Also, my manicurist was at times using her nails to push back my cuticle rather than the instruments and at one point I saw the pedicurist pick up a towel that had fallen on the floor for quite a few minutes and then use it on my feet. They were better about things when I asked them to be more clean but it still didn't sit right with me. Also, the end result of the nails was okay, they look good and will suffice for a week, but I also felt I had to ask a few times to get the sides etc to make sure it looked good. I really do think for the price, there are other places that do a better job. read more

I agree completely with Debi R., who just rated this place. I used to come to this place growing up since I was a little girl. My first manicure ever was here. Amanda (the old owner/ manager) used to know my mom, my sister and I so well. She was so sweet and I remember hating going to anywhere else but Nails Paradise because it just felt like home in there. HOWEVER, I went away to college & now am back in Irvine 4 years later and it is a complete 180. Amanda is gone and you can definitely tell. I walk in and the atmosphere is so cold/ hostile. The new manager girl is so rude. She even did my nails herself once and didn't say a single word to me. What? So strange. ALSO- side note on how bad their customer service is. I went in last week and two of the workers (one was the manager I mentioned earlier) got into a yelling fight from two ends of the salon. They were literally yelling at each other things like "shut your mouth" and "if you don't want to work here then leave right now, walk out this door" while the whole salon was silent.... It was extremely awkward and unprofessional!! TIP note- they do not allow you to tip of your card. Cash only. There are no exceptions. For my facial today, I give them a 5 stars review! I had the pleasure of meeting Corey and she was sweet, strong and personable. I was referred by my co-worker to give Burke Williams a rest and stop by here because it's close to work and I can see myself coming back for just the facials. From reading the reviews, yes... I can understand a little bit of Vietnamese and if they talk about an Asian on front of an Asian, they will talk about you if you're not...believe that! smH!!! It was slow when I walked in and they seemed upset that I didn't want any mani/peni. Hell, my 40 mins facial turned almost freakin 2 hrs. I have no idea what happened but it was the best $40 I spent. I also had my eyebrows tinted for 25 and feet wrapped in honey wax for $5 (never again). And yes, they charge 1 dollar to use credit card, kind of lame if you ask me. I have my own business and I don't charge people using credit card... you just suck up the merchant fees and smile. I mean, how are you going to charge someone using a credit card and not give a discount using cash?? Customer service is EVERYTHING to me. And oh-so hard to find in a nail salon which is a real shame. I came in with a girlfriend of mine to use a gift card that was given to us by her amazingly sweet fiancé. The certificate was for 2 manicures and pedicures. I went in with the expectation that we'd split the certificate in half, and each have to pay extra out of pocket for whatever services were not covered by the certificate. We informed the technicians we were splitting the card in half. I did get the callus remover gel (which was not properly applied I still have HUGE calluses on my toes) and I got gel on my manicure only. I expected to probably have to pay about $15 with the gel addition and $5 for the callus, plus tip. The technicians did a nice job...my nails do look lovely. I especially liked the woman who did my manicure. The lady who did my pedicure made me a little uncomfortable and wouldn't really speak to me...and she wore a short dress giving me a lovely view of her bajingo the entire time LOL. The massage part was iffy but then again I didn't pay for a great one so I'm not surprised. Now the customer service issues. First: We called ahead to see if we needed an appointment. We were told no. We got there and every single chair was full and we had to wait-which was ok because we could pick out our colors etc. We had another girlfriend with us so it was fun to chat. The biggest issue was the manager, I think she said her name was Amanda. She was sweet as pie...until I asked her why I was charged $40.00... I decided to ask her about the charges because per their menu it said it was $26.00 for a manicure/pedicure combo (what a steal!) She charged me for the $30.00 package instead (big whoop...$4.00, I was ok with that) But due to my girlfriend's relationship with the manager (they know each other as her fiancé works next door) she wanted to take all of my girlfriend's cost out of the gift card which she stated was $48.00 leaving me with only $12.00 to cover my services. When I asked her about it and mentioned that we were splitting the gift card in half ($30.00 each) she went on a long-winded rant, told me "If you want me to do the math for you since you don't understand I will" and proceeded to show me each individual charge to each of us which I clearly understood. When I attempted to explain that I understood the charges and that the gift card funds were used incorrectly she put her hand in my face and said "Let me finish! You don't understand! I gave you a discount! I saved you $6.00! I don't appreciate this!" went on and on about how she is a good business owner and that she would never over charge for her prices as they are stated on her menu...full on chewed me out. When I was finally able to explain that we each wanted to use the $30.00 each + the cost of extra services she told me that this was my fault and that I should have explained that to her and also that she didn't think that was fair because my friend is a wonderful person and she didn't understand why I didn't know that or why I would expect her to have to pay for her services. "Why should she pay? it's on the house! You don't want her to get this for free? Why?" I told her not to make the mistake in thinking that I don't FULLY understand what a wonderful woman my friend is, and that I appreciated that they wanted to comp her for the services "on the house" but that the gift card was a shared thank you gift to myself for just us girls to get a manicure and pedicure combo. She went on again about how I never told her that and that I should have said something. My friend, poor thing, was put in such an awkward position and I felt like a total B**** because I was trying to make sure I was not over charged. My friend ended up giving me $20.00 and I paid $45 and everything was fine in the end but I was irritated that a relaxing trip to the salon turned into a bashing session about how I'm a bad person and don't appreciate my friends. SORRY for the long-winded review and I realize it sounds catty, but being that I work in customer service, poor service really upsets me. I will not be returning again. I went in for a French tip pedicure with my mom & both results were mediocre. On my first visit, I got a manicure and a facial. Both were amazing. The facial was only $40/hour and she did alot of extractions. I never expected to get a good facial at a nail salon... On my second visit I got a manicure and pedicure. Again both were great. The massage chairs are comfortable and clean. Only downside that I have experienced so far: lack of good quality nail polishes. I personally prefer to like OPI but I will settle for other higher end polishes. They have about 15 OPI polishes at this salon. The rest of the polishes appear to be $1 polishes from the fashion district. Sorry but if you want to charge me high end nail salon prices you need to have high end polishes as well. Overall I had a good experience at this salon and I would recommend it. read more

I am in town to visit my friend and had a few hours to kill before I met up with him so I decided to get my nails done! Walked in around 11:45AM and was seated immediately. My nail technician's name is Pauline and she was pretty quiet except for asking how short and what shape I wanted my nails to be. She had me pay before she started painting my nails (Thank goodness she reminded me, I hate digging in my purse with fresh nail polish drying). I got some old acrylics removed, then a manicure and color. Pauline removed the acrylics completely....Most nail salons I go to just file it down to the bare minimum then pile paint on top of it. I was impressed by how well she got the acrylics off, as well as how quickly!! Like the other reviewers said, your nails will be done in a jiffy! I was in and out in about half an hour including nail dry time. They have a huge selection of red nail polishes in every shade of red imaginable...but are limited in everything else. So if red doesn't tickle your fancy, bring your own color. They prefer checks or cash but they do accept credit card. You can opt to add tip to the total or on the receipt they have a little spot for tips you can fill in. read more

-1 I got the gel nail polish a few weeks back and it was great. $15 on top of the regular manicure price ($47 mani/pedi/gel) and they had a really nice hot pink color that I loved. Fast forward to two weeks later and the nail polish needs to come off. I walk in to get the nail polish taken off and the lady took me right away. Then a flood of old ladies from (I'm guessing) the neighboring retirement/trailer/double-wide community come over to get their nails and hooves done. So the woman who's attempting to get off this gel polish starts to rush. My fingers weren't even in the acetone (or whatever freaking chemical it was) for 60 seconds before she tried to strip the polish off my fingers with a variety of tools. Then she got this attitude, like it's my fault that the polish isn't coming off. She is ripping the polish off my nails, then scraping, then back to ripping. What is she doing to my natural nails? The worst part is that she didn't get it all off. I'm still looking at little spots of hot pink and the adhesive glue stuff as I'm typing this. Was I supposed to make an appointment to get the polish taken off? A 6-7 minute job turned into a 15 minute thing with a woman with a scowl on her face the whole time. $5 to get the polish taken off. First time I came here it was ok- not really impressed but it was close when my friend was visiting from Nor-Cal. I came again after running the Mud Run and wanted to get my nails clean and pretty again. The pedicure lady was nice and my nails were painted well but she lacked in the details. Poor massage and the hot towels were lukewarm/rough and were not even left on my leg for more than 5 seconds. The manicure lady was even worse. She was soooooo distracted and was really rough. My cuticles were not properly cut and are flaking. Paint was uneven- I could of really done a better job myself! To make matters worse, when I was sitting waiting for my nails to dry, I realized that one nail had only 1 coat of polish and I kindly asked the manicure lady to fix it. She was like oops, I forgot and I was like its ok. Back to the dryer. 3 minutes later, pedicure comes to me and says if I want to pay now. I was like ok but I accidentally scraped that nail the manicure lady just polished. Pedicure lady was like "You messed up again?!". Wth, first time was the manicure lady's fault. Pedicure lady haughtily calls over manicure lady and she fixes my nail. I end up paying and the manicure lady shouts something in Viet to pedicure lady. Judging from other reviews, I'm sure she was bad mouthing me because I left a $3 tip (Which is generous considering the mani/pedi was mediocre at best). This is my favorite place to get my nails done by far. Amanda, the owner is awesome and will find someone to do your nails quickly if you're a walk-in. If you make an appointment, you can request someone but every lady whose ever done my nails has done a great job. They are all really personable and most will give you a hug upon finishing your nails :) The best thing about this place is that the pricing is fair. I've gone to other nail places where they give you a list of pedicure prices but leave off the regular/cheapest deal. Love love love this place! When I moved to Irvine 5 years ago, I was so sad to leave my trusted nail lady in Chino Hills. I read the reviews for Nails Paradise online and gave it a try after being soooo disappointed by poor service at Happy Nails and Star Nails. The service here is great, and they really pay attention to detail. Pedicures typically last 45 minutes to an hour, and I love that they really do a thorough job prepping your feet before they start polishing. The ladies are really nice and polite, and treat each customer with respect. There's something to be said for an independently owned salon -- they just really value their customers. read more

Second time here, and my actual pedicure this time was better than last time. Gloves for every pedicure are a plus. But I asked for no cut, file only, and she cut a couple with the cuticle cutter anyway. Shorter than I usually go, but whatever. Spa chairs are too close together. You wouldn't think that matters until the lady next to you is getting acrylics done. The tech was literally a foot away from me, and I got a face full of acrylic dust. And I didn't get the benefit of the medical facemask. Now I see why the previous reviewer talked about the chemical smell. The place is just too small, so there really isn't enough ventilation. I asked if they took credit card, and they said yes. However, they didn't like that I didn't have cash for the tip. They said, "Next time, bring cash!" I ended up writing a check instead, while thinking, 'there won't be a next time, lady!' Cost for the pedi was $20. After my pedicure was done, the tech told me to sit for a few minutes to let my polish dry. But they take away the towel, so your feet end up on the bare chair. ick. Then she cleaned the chair while I was still in it. That annoyed me because I got cleanser splashed on me. So then I whip out my phone and start leaving my negative review. Unbeknownst to me, the other tech saw what I was doing in the mirror's reflection. Well, then I promptly got ushered out to the waiting area instead of the chair. Lol, busted. I sat in the waiting area under the UV dryer for a little bit, then I left. Probably won't be back even though the location is conveniently located near my home. read more
