Ofcourse they would, then they can fudge income and not pay as much in taxes. I still put the 70.00 on my card, and left a cash tip. This is a no frills nail salon located in the same plaza as Dunkin Donuts on Jeffrey/Irvine Center Drive. We walked in without reservations on a Saturday mid-morning, and they had no problems squeezing me in right away even though they seemed pretty busy. I came here to get manicures with my almost 8 year old daughter. It was only $8 for her child manicure and they did a great job, and was really great about chatting with her. My daughter says she was the nicest ever (wish I caught her name!). I came for a gel manicure, and had a specific design I wanted, which I pulled up on my phone... but they weren't able to replicate it. They said they do mainly standard/basic gel nails here, so if you're looking for something a little fancier, this wouldn't be the place for you. I also noticed that they didn't have individually wrapped tools that you sign off on like some other places I've been to. It does give me pause and makes me wonder how well they clean and sanitize their tools. My technician did do a great job on my basic gel nails though, and was able to add some ombre glitter tips to elevate them a bit. Their prices are more reasonable compared to other places in Irvine, so this is a good option if you're looking for a no frills place that does a good job on simple designs. read more

Hanna is fantastic. She does my dip manicures and I love it. She's pretty quick, always has my nails done in an hour or so. She sands the dip down so my nails look natural. The place is clean and organized. Parking is relatively easy though the area can be busier than others depending on the time of day. Do not come here! I read some negative comments but still wanted to give it a try . Today after dropped off my son at IVC, I walked in and asked if they take walk-in, one lady said yes and call a nail person to do pedicure for me. When the lady walked out ask me what I need i told her I need pedicure she looked at me and told me come back later she's busy . There were only two customers there and she was seating inside doing nothing. What the heck! (She probably think I'm not going to tip her good because I wore like jogging/pajamas clothes.) I called to book an appointment, they said 6:30 would be perfect. I show up 10 mins early. never have I seen anyone rush my nails as fast as they did today. Lady starts to trim my toe nails without even asking if I wanted a cut or file, cut my toe 3 times & scrubbed for no longer than 1 minute. Im not even exaggerating. This photo was taken as she goes searching for the color I wanted . She returns a minute later saying she couldn't find it and offers me a "similar color". At this point I was already frustrated and told her yes go ahead but I would like you to scrub my toe one more time, she raised her voice and said " If you want callus remover I'll give you callus remover". - she didn't. I get a pedi every two weeks. Lady, this isn't my first rodeo. Of course I didn't tell her that. I could tell she was just ready to go home & at this point, so was I. She finishes me up, "massages" me for less than 3 mins and doesn't even give me the warm towel. She rings me up & doesn't even give me an option to tip. (I wasn't going to) but tell me when I still feel guilty for not. Lowkey I would have like the opportunity to not tip her. One of my biggest pet peeves is when a nail salon tech claims to know how to do a style when they clearly don't. I asked for ombré coffin nails and the ombré isn't ombré. Went to The Nail Bar for an acrylic fill on Tuesday and then came back for a gel pedicure on Thursday. The fill was pretty good, although she didn't shape my nails how I wanted. The pedicure however was the worst pedicure I've had in years. I was paired with a technician who was either totally new or had never done a gel pedicure. Either way, the paint job was uneven and blotchy. She didn't let the UV light stay on for the full time so the polish didn't set properly. She barely spent any time tending to cuticles, cleaning, filing, etc. And to top it off she rubbed my feet at the end for literally 1 minute. I've been coming here for a few years now for my regularly scheduled gel mani-pedi. I ask for Michelle and Amy every time they're there because I know that their work is meticulous and consistent when I go to them. I've asked for several different styles and they've always delivered and satisfied my request. They're both always so sweet and take their time with me to make sure that they can give me what I want, whether it's a photo-referenced manicure or something creative on their end. However, not a reflection of the sweet employees here, but I've been in the store where on more than one occasion, there have been people next to me or before me giving some of the nail techs issues. I have seen them come in and get their nails done, but then complain at the end of it and demand a refund or walk out of the store without paying because they are unsatisfied. This has happened to me before where I didn't quite like what I got and they have always been so kind to redo the work, but some of the patrons I've witnessed are basically robbing them of their labor. I'm not sure if there's anything anyone can do about it, but if you're seeing this, and you experience this kind of treatment from other customers, please be sure to stand up for our nail techs so that they're not being stolen from. Their time and effort is important and costs money, but when a customer refuses to pay and walks out, it's unfair and rude to the people who put in work. This would be my nail place if I lived in irvine or oc. I was here visiting my friend and she took me here because it's her favorite nail salon for many reasons: wonderful staff, friendly, reasonable prices, clean, nice decor, mini massage while you wait for your gel nails in the UV hand dryer...I can go on and on. I wish this place was in LA!! We wanted to try something different for New Years and decided on the new ombré style glitter effect with gel. Nicole and the other nice ladies created unique colors for both of us by mixing nail glitters and creating our own unique glitter color! These girls really know what they're doing. You tell them what service you want, and they get down to it. It is my first time here and I had walked in an hour earlier and requested a 2:30 time, and they were able to seat me promptly. They did not seem much into conversation, which is fine with me, and I was impressed how well they meticulously took care of my cuticles, and the services that went with applying the gel nails, and the spa pedi. I've been going to this salon for years, maybe ten years at the least. I've never EVER been disappointed in their service here! They've always taken the time to go the extra mile to remove my gel properly and legally by hand, instead of with a drimmel, which half the time, goes past my natural nail bed and hurts like a mofo. Ever since I moved back home, this has been my go-to nail salon. It's hard to find a place in Irvine that has reasonable prices and has a good color selection. I always find myself gravitating back to here despite trying other places. No matter how many broken nails I have or how many times I peel off my gel manicure, they leave me happy and satisfied. I truly love all the ladies there but I have a secret sweet spot for Michelle. She is gentle, sweet, thorough, and patient. I've been coming here for a long time because it was literally blocks away. I question them why they didn't have the disposable plastic over the sinks like most nail places do and I got a shrug for an answer. I suppose it's not her fault as she's not the owner. I don't feel the place is clean it's very dusty dirty and when they use the towels they should use new ones on everybody ones that don't have nail polish all over them. Unfortunately this place has gone downhill in there service and customer service. First, they didn't remember our appts. My gf and I called ahead of time to get dip nail w design prices and the lady SIGHED and said she couldn't do designs and to chose something easy (we chose ombré..) she then rudely asked "are you going to get something or what?" For my experience, the lady doing my pedi kept getting up during the massage. The lady who was doing my nails was sweet, but the service was just not up to par. My nails were completely uneven and at that point I just cancelled my dip nail. She even charged me 25$ when there menu says 15$ for dip removal which I did not see until I left- also she quickly did a cuticle removal so she can say it was a manicure but my nails are alll uneven and not even cleaned underneath. I knew they ripped me off because of how she and another lady were speaking to one another. She over charged/cheated me. Most staff were rude to my gf and I. Zero customer retention. Also- the files being used had already been used which is unsanitary and nothing seemed freshly cleaned. I saw the lady get out of my chair and none of the tools were different except the square file. Both of us are very upset and disappointed. Will not be returning. I don't think this place is for the younger generation who like upscale nails. read more

They do an excellent job here! I've gotten gel dip and gel nails here and they always last long and never chip. I live in Long Beach but will drive here to get my nails done when I visit my mother. They are also all sweet ladies who have great service and treat my mom well. Would def recommend as their prices are very reasonable for this area. read more

I came into the salon and asked if someone knew how to do acrylic nails and they completely lied, the work this "nail tech" did was trash!! Her work was disgusting and sloppy. Not only was every nail shape different but when she went to paint them, the put an extreme amount of nail polish causing them to look extremely chunky and uneven.
