Overall, incredibly happy with everything and how this turned out I actually booked online and it was a different site that wasn't correct but they still accommodated my manicure. Had Mimi and a regular mani and it was incredibly precise clean she also was working with a nail polish that wasn't the best and I really appreciated her attention detail, patience with it all to make sure that my nails turned out perfect. Jane and 2EM made my Friday even better! Luckily, I was able to get a walk-in appointment and was all set for a basic pedicure but because my feet needed TLC after a year without pedicures, I upgraded to the 2EM pedicure because of the massage. I'm so glad I did because I experienced a relaxing transformation all while enjoying a delicious honey herbal tea that Jane provided me. We decided to try 2EM because I saw that they are currently doing a Grand Opening special where they're giving 20% off of your total for another week. After June 14th, they have a 5% cash price discount. We had Sally, Angel, and Sofia, and got 2 builder gel fills and 1 gel manicure. The base price was $58 for the fills and $45 for the gel. Sally was quick and efficient, Angel was super detailed with each step, and Sofia was amazing with her free-handed nail designs. I took off half a star because I wish I knew before we went was that they charge you for "extras" where other places have it included in the price. Cutting your nails shorter? $5. Cuticle trim? $10. Nail art? $5/finger. The price including the discount was similar to other salons in other cities. I took another half star off because even though I mentioned I was super thirsty after seeing other customers handed little bottles of water, I wasn't offered anything. In addition, customers who came when we were wrapping up were offered red/white wine, champagne, coffee, or tea. Maybe it's only for returning customers? Regrand opening of 2em Nail Lounge in Irvine. Everything is the same, just new name. This is my second time going here and they have done solid job with my nails both times. They last long time, it didnt peel off or break and they can do so many different kinds of designs. I had 2 different nail technicians for my manicure both times I went and both were great. I do builder gel and they shape my nails perfectly! I'm impressed! I went a little extra because it was the last day of work and first day of summer break. The salon is cute, clean and in a great location with plenty of parking. I booked an appointment for a full set of medium length acrylics. When I arrived, the front desk guy asked if I had ever tried Gel X before. I said that I have but that I'd rather do acrylics because I don't like the stinging UV beam used to bond the nail. Also, Gel X is more expensive... I sat down, and the nail tech pulls out her box of Gel X nails anyways. Clearly these people don't care what I want, so I figured I'd just get the Gel X since it's quicker and get outta there. The UV bonding ray stung quite a bit, especially when she held my finger under the beam as she turned to talk to another tech. I had to quickly pull it away because it felt like my nail was burning! Halfway through my appointment, another client sits down next to me to wait for my tech to finish up. It became clear to me that they were pushing Gel X on me in the first place because they wanted to squeeze another client in even though my appointment was scheduled for a full hour! When my tech finished up, she thanked me for choosing Gel X because it's quicker. Ummm... I think it was chosen for me lol Giving 2 stars instead of 1 because the nails turned out fine. read more

I came here twice. I loved how my nails came out the first time so much that I decided this would be my new nail place. However, the second time I came here, I was disappointed and I don't think I'll return. I typically get a gel manicure but the technician the second time insisted that I had builder gel on (I didn't) and proceeded to give me an entire builder gel manicure that I really didn't want. Builder gel is pretty thick and unnatural looking, plus it's more expensive and the heat light used on each finger individually really burns. read more

First I want to clarify that this is the Quail hill location I am reviewing. I'm sorry but I didn't have the same amazing experience at the other location in Irvine. Tina, Emma, and Joey did a phenomenal job on my nails, Toes, eyebrows, and massage. They were kind, caring, very skilled, and they saved my hideous nails that were destroyed by happy nails salon. I feel terrible to say that, I was a costumer at happy nails for 20 years, but sadly it has gone downhill. I will from now on be a loyal customer at 2EM Quail Hill to my girls Emma, Joey, and Tina. I love them and can't thank them enough for the hospitality, generosity, and level of care they provided to my desperately needing nails, Toes, and brows. read more

I'm complaining about the five dollar fee to file my nails because I have never ever ever in 50 years seen anybody get their nails done without filing. Make my manicure $65 but don't make it $58 and then charge me five dollars for filing them. It's insulting. I know you thought you explained it to me, but you missed my entire point.
