I've been coming here for a year now so I can give my full review! I make an appointment at the beginning of every month and they already know me so when I arrive, they already know I get the gelx medium almond shape. All the employees here are all very nice and super helpful, especially when it comes to the crazy inspo designs I bring into the shop. Yes, the designs I choose are intricate and require a lot of time but they always execute and I always get a ton of compliments on my nails all month long. They have two locations and theyre both phenomenal and super clean. Highly recommend Essence Nail Studio, both in Irvine!! read more

My mom and I had a day out to celebrate Mother's Day and we came here to get our Mother's Day nails done. I treated my mom for her nails and I booked the appointments. They called me half an hour before to tell me that they had to change one of our nail techs. My mom just wanted a pedicure and I got a pedicure and manicure. My mom had Alyssa and I had David (pedicure) and Amy (manicure). My mom said that Alyssa did a great job with her pedicure. David and Amy did a great job, except David pulled out a cuticle from my right side big toe and seriously hurt me my big toe and it is still hurting two days later (OUCH!!). The salon is so nice inside! I would definitely come here again! Also, if you do a manicure and pedicure you can get a combo price of $99 for OPI gel or if you do premium brand than it is $119. read more

If you are queer or looking for a good salon do not go here. The woman who did my nails (Tracy?) was on her cell phone making a person call most of my appointment and I booked an appointment that came with a clear coat she stopped at just trimming the nails. I told her kindly that I also wanted a clear coat. She gave me a horrible look, ran to get her manager, and only after he assured me they could do the service did she come back and do a mediocre job. Just because I am male and wanted a clear coat she decided to treat me poorly? Will not be returning. read more

Booked a gel mani appointment with Quinn same day for later in the afternoon. Came in on time but Quinn was busy so waited about 10-15 min. I also asked if they could accommodate a spa pedicure and they could--I had Christy for that. Both ladies were great! Quinn was so detailed and thorough and checked in with me often to make sure I was happy with the results. And Christy was funny and sweet and did a great job on my pedicure. Will definitely come back! Parking is easy but you may have to park further away due to all the businesses in the complex. This place used to be a cafe back in the day but the interior is unrecognizable. It's tile floors and lots of comfy pedicure chairs. Manicure stations looked comfy as well with rests for your wrists. They also offer you champagne or water when you come in which is a nice touch. read more

The overall place was lovely, clean and neat. But the gentleman who did my nails, they aren't great. I haven't had my nails done in about 2 years, I was letting them get strong and healthy after years of acrylics. They are so misshapen, thick and not cute at all. This is my first time at the nail studio and I desperately needed to get my nails done for my wedding in a few days. Scheduling the appointment was easy peasy! Rachel did my bridal nails and she absolutely delivered. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she took her time, and was so detailed and meticulous. Everything is branded and color coordinated. They have a great board with styles and lengths displayed to make consultations easier. Cons: While the work is high-quality, the service feels incredibly one-sided. They are extremely strict about appointment confirmations, which I'd understand for a brand-new client, but I've been coming here for years and have a near-perfect track record outside of being a few minutes late a handful of times (always within their 15 minute grace period). I recently had an appointment canceled because I didn't confirm via text--meanwhile, I just brought a newborn home and my phone is the last thing on my mind. When I explained the situation, there was zero flexibility or effort to help me out, which was a huge letdown since I needed that touchup for our birth announcement video. A while back a tech got lash glue on my brand-new clothes (including a pair of expensive jeans and freshly altered white top) which completely ruined them. I have no idea how this happened but when I pointed it out at my next visit, there wasn't even an offer for a small credit or any gesture to make it right. Clients are expected to be on time, yet I have had to wait on multiple occasions because they weren't ready for me. Plus, one of the techs frequently stops mid-application to check out other customers or help other techs, which just drags out the appointment. Usually I go every four weeks but recently I've had some big events and trying to get a touch-up has been difficult. I replied to confirm an available slot immediately only to be told it was actually already booked. It actually caused me to miss getting a touch-up before my son was born. I really want to keep supporting this business because the results are consistent, but I hope they start showing a bit more consideration for their loyal, long-term clients. Skills are important, but so is how you treat people.

She was great about getting me in quickly, since I wanted to get my lashes done before a trip. Everything was very clean and we both wore masks the entire time. She applies the lashes in a clean room with the client lying on a comfortable memory foam massage table, and a fresh towel on a special lash application neck pillow to rest on. She helped me decide to go with a B curl lash, with the longest lashes in the middle at a .12, and a classic set. I prefer my lashes to tend more towards the natural side, and I am extremely pleased with the results. The lashes are perfect and give a little oomph without making me look like I am wearing strip lashes. I highly recommend Megumi as your go-to for lash application.
